as you can see, there is no new update to this blog for some time.
actually, I accidentally lost a large amount of my photos in picasaweb, which were linked to this blog.
i didn't know that blogger used picasaweb as their picture hosting service.
this happened when they synchronized my picasaweb albums with my Google+ albums & with my so called smartphone!!

a few months back, my phone's SD card gone damaged.
anyway, this had happened twice already!
so all pictures in my handphone are gone.. gone!
new pics taken by the hp camera, well, that's one thing.
but all pictures in my blog? ssk, that's really something!

i lost years of memories down the drain...
i shall now go off and cry in a corner...

sobs sobs..

my lil brother's wedding

hello & happy merdeka day.

you know what.. today, i feel like blogging :)
i don't know why, it must be hormonal issue or something.
funny that i chose to blog about my lil bro's wedding that was held in march.

i helped him with his hantaran, pelamin, stairs deco, room deco, and a few other things which i don't really remember since the event took place months back.

the thing that i loved the most was the hantaran, i mean, among things that i did.
i chose to have arrangements of combination of bright colored fresh flowers and white.
normally for hantaran, ppl would go for pastel colored fresh flowers.
so i wanted to try something fresh & different.
and these are the results...

haha nevermind if you don't think so, as long as i was & am still happy with my work.

by the way, the family theme color for the akad nikah was purple.
while bride & groom were wearing off whites.
i was wearing typical modern kurung.

the akad nikah & reception event were held on the same day.
for the reception, the newly married couple was dressed in brown colored suit cut baju melayu & gown.
honestly, i didn't really like the color, but the gown cutting was nice.

the following day was event at my parents' house for groom side.
the theme color was pink + gold, same theme color as my akad nikah.
i was wearing modern kurung with pleated chiffon skirt, while the groom & bride were dressed in white attire.
i love the bride's dress, well, i was the one who chose it anyway.
and i love the makeup too!

ohh did i mention that the pelamin was made by yours truly?
yeah, but it was just a simple one.
i wasn't really satisfy with the outcome, but still, it's better than my wedding pelamin.
the rule of thumb in making self-made pelamin - less is more.

anniversary in krabi (part 1)

ouh it took me 2 months to blog about our krabi trip.
i should do this earlier, now that it's already months, i started to forgot things about this lovely trip.

we were there on april to celebrate our 1st year's anniversary, to enjoy some sand & sea together.
we love krabi so much that we felt like staying there forever.
it was nothing like here.
we love the fact that nobody rushed, even the tourist didn't.
it was a very relaxing 4 days in our lives.

we stayed at sunda resort.
it is just a 2- or 3-star resort, i think.
i got the room very cheap from groupon.
the resort is not located by the beach, but there was a free shuttle service from the resort to the beach area from morning till night.
the room was just so-so, but we loved the service.
the staff were really helpful, like really really.
there are plenty of nice hotels & resots in krabi.
competition is tough & that's why they were giving us the best that they have, well, that's just my assumption tho.

we did nothing on our first day because we arrived quite late.
we did go out to get something for dinner.
we had our dinner at chaba halal restaurant.
after that we tried to find something to do on our next day.
so we talked to a trip tour agent & have chose to go to phi phi island.

the second day, phi phi island boat trip it is.
we went to several places including pileh bay, monkey bay, maya bay, viking cave, phi phi don island & bamboo island (i think there are lots more, but i just can't remember).
the view at pileh bay is fantastic, so does at maya bay.
apart from sightseeing, we also did some snorkeling.
my husband does not like snorkeling like i do, so he didn't enjoy that activity like i did.
it's like having fun time all alone.
i wish "my snorkeling friends" were there, well, you know who you are.

the boat trip was a 1-day trip from 8am to 4pm.
we were back to our hotel, feeling so tired.
i called a masseur for a thai massage session in our hotel room.
the thai massage was really good, maybe because the masseur is a thai lady & i do it in thailand.
haha does it make sense to you?
later at night, we had our dinner at the same restaurant like a night before, chaba restaurant.
i don't know why we chose to have our 2nd dinner at the very same restaurant, maybe because we were too tired to think.

third day, our initial plan was to have an elephant trekking or kayaking or water rafting (there are so much things you can do in krabi), but we didn't have the energy to do so.
we were still tired haha, so we just walked around the aonang beach town the whole day.
we did some shopping for families, friends and of course for ourselves.

later at night, we had a candlelight dinner to celebrate our 1st anniversary at the hotel.
i told the lady at the reception that it is our anniversary so we want to have a proper dinner for 2 & it would be great to have a candlelight dinner.
we were really surprised that they did their best for the dinner.
we thought that we would be having that candlelight dinner at their restaurant, but they placed us in a special room & did a great preparation for us (with no extra cost).
there was romantic background music being played for us & they left us in that room after they served our foods, leaving just the two of us.
well, i guess the rest is history :)
it was a lovely effort from them & we do really appreciate it.

forth day which is our last day, we woke up late.
we did nothing until 12pm, when the taxi guy picked us up at the hotel.

so there was our sweet escape.
it was a sweet, memorable anniversary to the both us!

krabi trip was great!

sabah trip with LOVE! (part 1)

last time, i went there with my close friends & i found that sabah is one of malaysia's best holiday spots.
so i was thinking of getting the same great experience again but this time with my other half.
anyway, my entry of the previous sabah trip can be read here.

last time we were staying at the heart of kk town which i think SO not suitable for honeymooners like us.
so this time i chose to stay a bit far but not too far away from the city centre.

so yeay grand borneo hotel it is!

the hotel is located at about 7km from the city centre & it is part of 1borneo shopping complex.
me myself, i think the hotel is near to perfect.
the only thing that makes it less than perfect is the absence of parking facility for the guests.
we had to pay for the parking (inside the mall) & it is not cheap especially on weekends.
you can always park your car by the roadside anyway, but we don't want to take the risk.
well, better safe than sorry, no?
apart from the parking problem, everything else was fine.

as of the car, we rented it from hertz (sime darby car rental).
i did some research & i found that hertz offers the best rates, but that only applies if you book the car online.
yeah, you too can book online to enjoy the best rates.
they gave us a new hyundai accent for only at rm115 per day, well that's the price for myvi if we were to rent from other company or individual.
even last time my friends & i rented an obsolete pesona at discounted price of rm150 per day.
so yeah, hertz is highly recommended especially if you are flying using malaysia airlines because they are located in terminal 1.
if you are flying with air asia, you will have to take a taxi to terminal 1 from terminal 2 which will cost you another rm30 for one way taxi trip (mind you, you'll need to do the same thing upon returning car), and that was what we did.
we don't mind paying extra rm60 for the taxi in order to get good car & the total is actually still cheaper than renting from others.

below is the itinerary throughout our stay.
i can say that we really had fun & i enjoyed the trip so much.
i'm too lazy to elaborate each item like i always did, so i will put it in a simple point form with hope that it still can help others in planning holiday in kk.

shazwani hamid's birthday bash (part 1)

hi girls, this entry is somewhat outdated already.
actually there are so much things that i wanted to write down in this blog, but due to my lazy-ness, i have neglected my blog for quite some time & i'm very sorry for that.

anyway, last january was shazwani hamid's birthday & she also got engaged on the same month.
so, me & my friends who are also her blog readers decided to do a small private party for her.
it started with a facebook's message which i sent to the girls from the victorian themed tea party organized by wani last time.

so they agree & the first thing that we did was to decide on when to hold the party.
there were 9 of us & i want all 9 to be there.
finally, we chose 26th february since that's the only date that which everyone can come.

so yeah, the party was a success!
we asked sheila (wani's brother's girlfriend) to help us in getting wani to the party.
she did a great job that wani didn't have a single clue about it until she saw us saying "surprised!"
anyway wani blogged about it here.

we got 3 weeks to plan & do everything.
luckily i got supportive friends with me which made things went easier.

and below is the summary of our plan.

6) Nurul - prepare welcoming speech, be the host of the day

wani arrived at the party a lil bit late since she was overslept.
so we decided to cancel the little game slot since some of us need to get back home & go somewhere else after the party.
but nevermind, it was still a success & we still had fun.
good ambience, good friends, good foods, good laughs.. everything was in place i think.

i love these girls so much because they are so sweet & we all got something in common.
i wish we can have another meet up later & please know that i'd always love to be the organizer!
haha, as much as i love to get involve in wedding or engagement party, i also love to do or take part in this kind of event.

hi dear readers.
i'm so sorry, it has been a little while since i put up my last post.

frankly, i really don't have much time like i used to have before.
too many new things get into my life lately that can be blamed for stopping me from updating my blog.

#1
we have moved to our own house.
so, i have to wake up early, i need to settle laundry, i must make sure everything's clean, i have to cook for my husband, etc. etc.
i don't mind cooking for my husband since i kinda enjoy doing that.
but i hate doing laundry.
do laundry took so much of my time & leceh a bit, especially the folding & ironing part.
but now i have already found solution for that problem.
i'm sending all clothes that need ironing to laundry shop!
so, problem solved!

i'm now a working lady!
yes, by working i mean office hour 830am-530pm working.
hmm honestly, i prefer my previous 'working' schedule & style, if, it can be considered as one.
i used to be a frequent mall visitor & i don't have to do that during lunch hour.
i can get into my 'office' anytime & can choose to not going to 'work' if i don't feel like going.
i enjoyed doing 'charity' e.g. buying things for others, paying others' bills, doing some window shopping or surveying for others, going here & there, etc. - i didn't get anything from that, but i really enjoy doing it.
so now that i'm really working, honestly, it is quite tiring because my day starts early, plus it is not that fun.
i hope someday i'll fall in love with my job & start enjoying my working life.

my family has opened 2 tutti frutti outlets.
one in sg besi & another one in sg buloh.
not that i have to take care of them, but apart from home & office, i will spend most of my time at tutti frutti.
reason being, my husband is the one who's in charge for the closing, so every night he'll need to go there.
being a good wife who is always there by his side (kah kah kah), me too, always spend my time at the outlet.
so yeah, that explains how tutti frutti affect my life.

all above are reasons why i didn't update this blog for quite some time.
so after this if you are not seeing new entry for a week or maybe more than that (wordless wednesday can't be considered as new entry), well, you already know why.

anyway girls, if you feel like eating tutti frutti & you're living nearby our sg besi or sg buloh outlet, do come to our shop!
our sg besi outlet is located at new shoplot named the trillium which is at lake fields, sg besi & our sg buloh outlet is located at tsb commercial centre, sg buloh, just by the main road near sg buloh hospital.

for your info, for this festive season of chinese new year, we are giving away angpow for every purchase.
we also have introduced new flavor (orange sorbet) & new topping (mandarin orange) that you must try!

it was a busy weekend.

for all you know, we just opened a new tutti frutti outlet last saturday.
alhamdulillah, we are happy that the responds was good.
it was a great new experience for me.

in conjunction with the soft opening, we gave 20% discount for our frozen yogurts for 2 days straight.
yes girls, 20% off & you just missed it!

but no worries, another outlet will be opened in the next 2 days.
you read it right, new tutti frutti outlet will be opened at TSB commercial centre, sungai buloh, this wednesday, january 18th.

family trip to port dickson (part 2)

this is a continuation of family trip to port dickson (part 1).

i will summarize the story in a list form of what we did from day 1 till day 3.

day 1
- arrived at the eagle ranch resort at about 4pm.
- went to get our late evening coffee dose at bangi kopitiam -_-' i actually didn't undertstand why we chose bangi kopitiam of all places over there.
- straightly headed to medan ikan bakar kampung telok, pasir panjang for our dinner. the place is highly recommended by me. i love that place because the seafoods were all fresh & all of what we ordered tasted so good that we decided to come here again for next day's dinner. however, the place looked like a food court so yay for the foods but nay for the ambience.
- went back to the eagle ranch & zzzz.

day 2
- we had our breakfast at a local foodstall. we decided not to eat at the eagle ranch because the choice of foods were limited.
- we went straight to pantai teluk kemang public beach for a picnic. we rent a small tent (the rental price is rm20 for the small & rm35 for the big one) for us to put our stuff & to allow us to stay by the beach for hours. we had fun riding on a boat, playing banana boat (rm20/pax), riding on a storm/viper ride (rm20/pax), burying my MIL in the sand, eating ice creams, swimming, etc. simply said, we did all the fun things until we were all tired (until about 330pm).
- went back to the eagle ranch to clean up, solat & got ready to find something to eat for our late lunch.
- so we had our late lunch (5pm) at KDK tomyam, a restaurant in front of a muslim's cemeteries, so i guess that KDK stands for 'kedai depan kubur' kot.
- later, we went to an extreme park for go-kart rides. the extreme park is located not far from the eagle ranch. actually there's a facility for go-kart at the eagle ranch itself but the price is rm30 for 5 laps, while the price at the extreme park is rm20 for 8 laps, so that's why we chose to have our go-kart ride at the extreme park instead.
- and then we tried to search for a place for horse riding, but then we can't find a place that allows the rider to ride the horse by him/herself. to truth is my cousins have license/certificate to ride on horses, so they don't want the unchallenging type of horse riding that we are actually just sit on a pony & there will be other person pulling the horse around. so we went back to the eagle ranch & took out this particular activity from the trip itinerary.
- others decided to go back to the extreme park to play archery & paintballs, but i decided to have some rest so i didn't follow.
- after that, we went to the same dinner place as day 1's yay.
- back to the eagle ranch & zzzz.

day 3
- my husband & i had our breakfast at the eagle ranch, but the rest decided to have it outside just like the previous day.
- since we need to check out from there at 12pm, so we didn't have much time. we decided to visit an ostrich farm (entrance fee for adult is rm8/pax, plus rm3 if you want to ride an ostrich). besides ostrich, there were also other animals as well, just like a mini zoo.
- so lastly, we went back to the eagle ranch, packing our stuff & checked out.

so that's it, our short yet fun trip to port dickson.

know what, i just knew that we can actually snorkel at port dickson from what have been told to us by locals.
i never heard about people go snorkeling at port dickson before.
i guess we (me & husband) want to give it a try someday since snorkeling is among my favorite activities.

so last week we went to port dickson for 2 nights.

we stayed at the eagle ranch resort.
we chose to stay there because we knew that the place provides a concept which is different from others.
and we thought of escaping ourselves from reality & enjoy the american mid-western fantasy of cowboys, horses & bandwagons.

however, things were not like what we imagined.
the overall concept was there, but the place was not properly maintained.
and know what, we didn't even use the 'facilities' that were provided by them.
i'm sorry but i don't feel like sharing details about the resort with you girls.
i am not happy with the place, but overall, we had fun throughout our trip!

ouh, i suddenly don't feel like continuing my writings.
i just remembered that my brother in law told me that my favorite 'daiso' has been opened at the mines
so i thought of paying a visit :)
