Building our Dream House

My husband and I are building our little dream retirement home down in Crescent Beach. I tell you, it’s the last house I ever want to build. We are almost done and all the little details are coming together. It’s nice to see this project we’ve been pouring our savings into finally starting to resemble a home. All the finishing pieces are coming into place. The shower doors were an interesting challenge. One of my shower doors had multiple notches so the glass would hug the window sill which just happened to be right where the glass needed to go. I thought this was going to be a problem. The guys at White Rock Glass took a template and returned a week and a half later with a perfect fit. I wanted a double door look without a protruding handle. They installed little knobs for me instead and it really looks classy. My husband took on a bit of a project with my other bathroom. He built a medicine cabinet inside the wall and wanted a beveled mirror on piano hinges to look like it was flush in the wall. They were able to put it together for us, no problem. The shower door in that bathroom is a big one. I am so happy with the way it went. They cleaned up after themselves and were so polite. It was just a great experience all around.

White Rock Glass has been my stable source for anything made of glass or mirror. When I first moved here from Saskatchewan in 2006, they replaced my windshield on my Audi TT. From the very first time I met them, I could tell it was a family run business. They cared enough to look after all the details. When I renovated my first home, they delivered and installed my custom mirror within hours to meet with my busy schedule. I was so impressed that I baked Christmas cookies for their staff. As an Interior Design/Drafting teacher, I often create sketches of unorthodox ideas. Running the sketches by their qualified staff lets me know where I need to modify. They have not disappointed me yet! They even donated gorgeous glass squares for one of my CADD Logo classes. My students and I made them a huge THANK YOU card from Tamanawis Secondary. White Rock Glass cares about quality and community! I also run a bed and breakfast, www.donnasbb.com, and many clients have windshield needs. Most recently, my own father was visiting from home and needed to deal with a windshield chip. I suggested White Rock Glass. He and my mother were greeted with a warm welcome and were looked after with great kindness and respect. White Rock Glass is professional, generous, creative, patient and so wonderfully community oriented. There is a reason they have been serving White Rock for over 45 years! As a member of the South Surrey/White Rock Chamber of Commerce, I am proud to be connected to such wonderful people.
