My Custom Blythe #17 - Khaleesi

2016-07-17T20:01:00.000+08:00

Finally done the shooting for my 17th custom Blythe. It took me slightly longer time for this project as i need to figure out the best costume for her and also the entire theme.

And here goes the w.i.p photo and also the final shooting photos.

I'm using the new RBL factory Blythe as base doll

There should be some full length photo before i custom. But i think i accidentally formatted my SD card before i went for my holidays :(

Hand painted eyes by myself.

I added a magnetic unicorn for her.

For this doll i changed her body to the jointed type fair skin. It's similar to the Azone body. Her body is too fair and hence i paint it some flesh tone.

I gave her a very light pink manicure and pedicure too.

She has a large bust with nipples. Majority 1/6 clothes will fit on this body.

Hand made shoes for her by myself.

Hand made dress and accessories also by myself. And also the custom stand by me also.

And here is the official photo shoot of her. Enjoy~

Custom work done on her:

- Base doll: New RBL factory.

- Completely full make up, added freckles and sealed with MSC several layers.

- Carved lips, nose and philtrum.

- Gaze correction, boggled eyes and sleeping eyes with 2 new pull charms.

- New eyelashes (black + purple)

- Custom made magnetic unicorn painted gold (detachable).

- 4 pairs of hand painted eye chips by me.

- New jointed fair skin body with custom paint flesh tones on her with 2 pairs of hands.

- Hand made dress, accessories and shoes.

- Special bow and arrow.

- Custom made wood stand with artificial grass on it.

CUTEROOM DIY Miniature Totoro Set

I decided to go for the 2nd set of the miniature kit. Originally there is 4 types. This time i choose the Totoro set which it look easy from the picture.

Yea, everything look really easy as i do not need to assemble the house for at least.

But to glue to plant around the house aint easy.

Everything is so tiny. And i seriously not sure what scale is this. 1/18? 1/20? I don't know.

Fence is a cut out from a thick paper.

The challenging part was sticking the plants. Because i'm using the UHU glue. Unless i go for the heat gun but i didn't.

The most "easy looking" set end up to be quite challenging one. But the outcome is really satisfied me. This miniature kit is too cute. Love it!

2016-03-16T22:00:00.000+08:00

I tried out some new stuff lately. I have been observed this diy house or room for quite some time. And finally i bought one for myself.

The box look like this.

This is all the pieces inside. Everything need to be self assemble.

It came with ruler, scissors and strong glue. And a music box mechanism as well.

It look quite easy but it's actually not. The pieces is too small; and you need to hold it with a tweezer (provided)

It took me about an hour to do to this stage.

It took me 3 nights to complete the whole set. This set came with a acrylic dome which one of the reason i bought it. It prevent my masterpiece from dust. Overall, it is a very fun stuff to do. All you need is patience, patience and a lot of patience XD

Custom Blythe #16 - Leia

2016-01-20T23:36:00.000+08:00

Preview of LeiaHere come my custom no 16. She is a dark skin girl. I was worried that i can't get her the right make over. But i was wrong. Painting a dark skin blythe eemed to be much more easier than the fair skin.

As usual i bought a new doll for custom.

Okay. Here goes the shooting....

For this doll, her eyes can look down.

Custom work done:

- Completely new make up and sealed with MSC few layers.
- Boggled eyes and gaze correction.
- Custom eyeball look downward.
- New eyelashes and new pull charms.
- Custom sleeping eyes.
- 4 new hand painted eye chips by me.
- Carved lips, nostril and philtrum.
- Painted eyebrow and freckles.

I name her Leia because she does look like Leia. I'm not sure. What do ya think? :)

Cinderella Shoes - Part 1

2016-01-17T21:21:00.000+08:00

Ever since i watched the Cinderella Movie, i was really obsessed. That's what every girl's dream! Who doesn't want to be in a fairy tale right? But what distract me the most in this movie is the glass slipper!

This is exactly how it look like in the movie.

Actual glass slipper made of swarovski crystal for the movie purpose.

Meanwhile... the actual one should be like in the disney animation.

Then is i start to google for the shoes. In the movie it was called as slipper. i don't know why. Somehow it was a shoes/heels for me. Okay..whatever.. Then i found out there there is too many Cinderella shoes been selling in the market. Of course aren't of them look like any one of the photo above. And even some of the famous designer recreate it.

By: Jimmy Choo

By: Christian Laboutin

By: Stuart Weitzman

By: Nicholas Kirkwood

By: Charlotte Olympia

So which one do you prefer huh? I believe every one of the designer shoes above have its own characteristic. All of them is pretty enough for me. But i'm sure i couldn't afford any of them.

And so.....finally..... i found this one from the Youtube. Yay!

I believe this is the most similiar diy cinderella shoes i could found.

And here is the video for the tutorial which you can follow.

After watching this video over and over, I have decided to made my own cinderella shoes for the tutorial given. I wish to thank to Abbe for her wonderful tutorial. It really help alot! :)

So first thing i need to do is to get a comfy heels gather and all the materials. I will continue this post at Part 2. Stay tune!

Sailor Moon Star Locket Music Box

2015-08-27T16:28:00.002+08:00

When i was a kid, i love Sailor Moon a lot. This is one my my best best anime ever. I did collect few Sailor Moon stuff but not all. Myself have variety of collections. Hence, i couldn't afford to collect everything. So some may need to be let go. But when i first came across this music box, i am truly obsessed. I did came across few other version too but the music wind quite fast. But this is what i found most similiar to the original music as in the Sailor Moon anime.

This is how the box look like.

The Moon Locket came with a silver chain

When you open the lid, the music play automatically from the beginning

Moon Locket in the Sailor Moon anime

Review:

Don't expect the quality is superb good as the Bandai Star Locket Version. My personally think this is a China production. And because the production is low, the price is quite costly for me. The music box made of plastic material with a/c operate. A cable came with this product. But so sad is when i got mine, it cannot be charge at all :( It supposed to show that the locket is charging but it's not. So i have return the item to the seller and waiting him to send me back a new one. No point of paying few hundred and at the end the item is spoiled right?

I think the music has been recorded into this locket. When the lid open, the music play. What i like about this locket is the screen. There is a lcd screen showing the moon and the star. This is another similarity with the one in the anime.

Overall, i think if the product quality can be improve, i think it will be a very great product. Since he price is not cheap. But for collector like me, i think i'm okay to pay for it as long as i love the item.

And oh ya. I do actually pre-order the Bandai version of the Star Locket too. I have been waiting for almost one month. Hopefully i can get it by next month.

Custom Blythe #12 - Kyra

2015-05-06T13:27:00.001+08:00

It's been almost a year since my last custom. Had been really busy with my house renovation thingy and my dancing class. But anyway, here now i back! :D

For this project 12, i'll be using the factory doll Blythe. I will write the comparison between a factory blythe with the original Takara blythe in my other review.

Base: RBL factory blythe
Skin tanned

Tanned skin blythe look really great compare with the fair skin type.

I can tell that her hair is extremely silky.

Her eyelids painted golden brown. I seriously love this colour. A mixture of acrylic metallic and matte type. Love the effect.

Hand painted eye chips.

Added sparkling foil sticker.

Hand painted eye chips.

Tutorial: Saran Hair Reroot

2014-06-28T17:34:00.000+08:00

Material you need:

1. Saran hair: 3 x Large Format from KatSilk. You can get it online here
2. Plier
3. Doll reroot needle
4. A bowl of water
5. Scissors
6. Tweezer
7. Nail polish remover (any brand)
8. Cotton pad
9. Masking or cellophane tape
10. Acrylic paint similiar to the hair

By using scissors, cut off the hair as short as possible.

Use your tweezer, remove all the remaining hairs.

Remember to flap over and remove the inner hair too.

Using soap and water, clean off the tiny hairs.

By using the nail remover, remove the paint. with cotton pad. It should be easily wipe away.

Wash again the hair dome with clean water and soap. You won't want to smell the polish remover.

Using the cellophane or masking tape, tape as below. (this is optional if you want your doll's forehead to look as skin colour)

Choose your acrylic colour.

I'm not recommend to use this glossy type. It's very sticky after i paint it on :(

Katsilk Saran hair large format (length until feet) I bought it 3 pack and it's enough for Blythe doll.

Cut the strand into half.

Prepare the hair into plugs. Each plug can be up to 13-18 depending the thickness you want .

Each pluck of hair you need to dip it into water. (Hair must be wet)

For rerooting, please follow step by step as the pictures below.

You can choose middle parting or side parting.

After complete the parting, do the hair crossing as below.

Tutorial: How to remove Blythe original hair & Repaint the Blythe scalp

2013-02-20T21:43:00.002+08:00

It is not that hard to remove the blythe hair and repaint the blythe scalp. Average custom commission to remove the hair cost USD 30- USD 35. So, you save money if you can do it yourself.

What you need:

1. Tweezer or Crochet.
2. Acrylic paint. (suitable colour for the new hair colour)
3. Nail remover. (any brand)
4. Scissor.
5. Cotton pad.
6. Masking tape.

Step 1: By using the scissor, cut off the original blythe hair as shortest as possible.

Step 2: By using the tweezer or crochet, gently pull out the hair inwards of the scalp.

Tips: Preferable to flip the scalp inside out so that you can easily remove the hair.

This is how it look from the inside after you done.

Step 3: Gently flip back the scalp. Wash the scalp with clean water and soap. Make sure no more hair stick on the scalp.

Step 4: Using the cotton pad and the nail remover, gently remove the scalp.

Step 5: Clean the scalp one again with clean water and soap. Make sure it is completely clean.

Step 6: Use the masking tape to tape around the edge of the scalp. Sorry, my masking tape is out of stock. So i'm using the cellophane tape for instead. But not too recommended to use this.

Step 7: Choose the best and closest colour to your new hair. For acrylic paint, i'm using the Plaid Apple Barrel brand (red hot glossy).

Step 8: Paint 2 layers. Allow minimum 1 hour dry time for at least.

Step 9: Remove the masking tape only after the scalp completely dry. Preferably the scalp to stay overnight before you start your reroot job.

And now you save your USD 35. Good Luck :)

*****BJD*****

Talking about BJD... What do peoples know about the BJD? BJD means ball jointed doll. For me, it's kind of dolls which look more alike human. Once awhile i will go through some website and try to look for some BJD. I think to get one of them but it might be maybe few years later? Because of the pricing. BJD is very expensive. I used to own a yellow lati doll. That should have considered as a bjd but it was too small for me and so all the time i just keep it inside my wardrobe.

There is one day i go through this website http://dollfairyland.com I'm quite impressed with the doll they had. When i saw this doll:

She is Feeple65 Chloe Elf Full Package. I just love everything of her. Her faceup, her body proportion and her outfit was just incredible awesome. But unfortunately her full package has sold out and the price is not cheap for me :(

Until few days ago.........

I go through the website again and i found this:

MiniFee Celine Full Package (Morning Glory) - Limited Edition 68 sets

She is too cute when the first time i saw her pics! Especially her little tooth. I love doll with tooth :)

After few days of consideration, i decided to get her as my 1st BJD. Can't wait for her arrival! :D

2013-02-14T14:12:00.000+08:00

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone :)
