Went to a portraiture lighting workshop at my local camera shop, and learned quite a bit lighting with continuous burn studio lights. Stephanie was a wonderful model, very friendly, and patient with us newbies.

So, 10 days ago, we had temperatures in the 70's.

Last week, we had a devastating hurricane...

Yesterday, mother nature figured that wasn't enough, and hit us with a nor'easter that dumped 8-12 inches of snow on us...

We have had this spider with a huge web outside of our patio for most of the summer - she survived the hurricane, and now the nor'easter. When I was shoveling the driveway, my wife saw her walking across the snow toward our neighbor's garage...

A few years ago, I went out to San Francisco to attend AdobeMax with a few of my co-workers.

On the last night there, they went out to dinner at the local Ruth's Chris steakhouse. I went to bed early, because I wanted to get up before dawn, and head out to see the Golden Gate Bridge, which I had never seen...

It was one of the most peaceful mornings I ever had. Wandering down the path in Golden Gate park, lit only by the flashlight app of my ipod, I made my way down to the edge of the water. It was such a peaceful experience - no one else around, the temperature was a little cool but very comfortable.

Then I heard footsteps coming - a group of joggers ran by. All friendly. All waving hello. A strange sight for this east coaster.

Later that morning, I met up back in the hotel lobby with my coworkers so we could head out to the airport to go home. One of my office mates started teasing me about the great, juicy steak he had, and that I really missed out (on a great meal on the company dime, of course)...

I showed him this image, and simply replied - there are Ruth's Chris steakhouses all over the country, there's even one on the Berlin Tpke. There's only ONE of THESE, and he was the one who missed out..

To say that the 10th Anniversary Firefly Panel at NYCC was amazing would be understating things...

Things started out with Jewel Staite and Sean Maher introducing a clip, and being joined on the phone by Nathan Fillion, who was supposedly still in LA due to filming Castle

Then Nathan started mentioning how good Jewel looked, which got everyone curious... Suddenly, he appeared on stage behind them, surprising everyone. Jewel was so happy to see him, she literally jumped into his arms...

St. Mary School Carnival Fireworks

Every September, my daughters' former grammar school holds their annual carnival, with a fireworks show on Saturday.

This was the first time I was able to shoot the show in a few years. I applied what I learned from shooting Disney's Fireworks shows to help me getting much better shots this time around.

Spent a little time in Flushing Meadows Park before I headed over to the Met game. With the way the Mets played, maybe I should have stayed there ;-)

The theme of the World's Fair was "Peace Through Understanding" and the Unisphere represented the theme of global interdependence. Another thing I love about this Sigma is the way it handles light shining directly on the lens....

Kansas

Since 1975, my hometown has hosted the largest one day festival in Connecticut. It features crafts, delicious food, and day-long entertainment.

This past year, the main stage featured Kansas, probably the biggest act to grace the main stage since the beginning of the festival.
