Sunday Riley Cosmetics Review & Swatches

This is my first Sunday Riley review and I feel so fortunate to have received these products to show you guys this amazing range of cosmetics. Surprisingly Sunday Riley, known for their skin care, isn't as recognizable as they should be in my opinion. The products are high quality, pigmented and practical. This is a brand that I can wear daily, they have signature staples for your everyday cosmetic routine.

Sunday Riley packaging is a classy, yet simple black and gold design with clear print.

I must note, The Influencer mascara works best for me as a "top-coat" to thicken and lengthen my lashes after I apply my everyday mascara. On it's own it is a thin formula that took more coats to thicken my lashes than other mascara's I have used. I never have been one to layer mascaras but I love the look because it thickens without too much clumping. It definitely is a more natural mascara, great for those who want to stay far away from the "spider-lashes."

The Influencer Extra Volume Glossy Mascara retails for $30 at Sephora.

The Prismasilk Eye Colors are encased in a hard plastic, flip-top container.

The formula is very noteworthy, as they are very pigmented and smooth. The only one that is a little harder in texture is Fool's Gold (this is because of the shimmer particles).

Twig is a muted bronze with shimmer. I like this shade of bronze because it's not too "orangey" as most bronze shades seem to come across. It's a neutral bronze. Sephora's description of this shade is a "metallic khaki brown with olive undertones."

Siberian Sable is more of a dirty-brown taupe. Sephora describes it as a "medium brown with sheen." It's my second favorite and works beautifully in the crease.

Fool's Gold has a dark blackened-brown base with gold shimmer and a micro-glitter. It is not too glittery, but it does pack more of a shimmery-punch than the other two shades. I love using this in my crease and outer-v, also I use it as eyeliner. This is my favorite Sunday Riley eyeshadow so far and I have been wearing it daily.

Sunday Riley Prismasilk eyeshadows are air-milled, long-wearing and retail for $26.

In the photo below I used Twig on my eyelid, Siberian Sable in my crease (and lower lashline) and Fool's Gold in my outer-v. I also used Fool's Gold with a pencil brush to smudge out my eyeliner, creating a slight smoky effect.

I first read about Sunday Riley's Blushing Blush at Beauty Professor. This shade is such a soft, delicate pink with a hint of sheen. It really does give you a beautiful glow. It's an everyday pink shade that doesn't turn peach/orange on me (which many pink blushes tend to do). The formula is soft, smooth and pigmented. It's perfection. Formulated without parabens, this blush retails for $30 at Sephora.

As you can see below it's the perfect amount of pink for my fair/light skintone.

I admit I was originally drawn to this lipstick, Sunday Riley Modern Lip Color in Mona Lisa, after seeing the swatches and review from Beauty Professor. The shade is gorgeous, a peachy version of the typical "Baby Pink" lippie. Shall I call it a Baby Peach? What I like is it isn't too orange, again I am a pink-cool-tone kind of woman and this lives up to my expectations. It has a slight shimmer in the formula that can come off as a frost (again, I am not a frosty-lipstick lover) but this is just fine. The formula is harder in texture, I wouldn't call it "creamy" by any means. I don't mind this because I find it wears longer on the lips. Sephora describes Mona Lisa as a coral nude extended-wear lip color (and claims to deliver true color with one swipe). The left swatch was swiped a few times whereas the swatch on the right was swiped twice. The Modern Lip Colors retail for $32.

The Creme Gloss is beautifully smooth and sheer, not at all sticky or tacky. If you are looking for a gloss with more pigmentation then this isn't the one for you. I usually layer glosses on top of my lipstick so this is just fine in terms of shine and color. I've been on a purple kick lately and Blackberry Crush is a beautiful violet shade to compliment my skintone. Sephora describes this antioxidant and Vitamin C enriched lipgloss as a Boysenberry Shimmer and it retails for $28.

I am in love with the Soft Focus Finishing Powder. I use it on top of my foundation or BB creams. This shade swatches a little darker on me, but the rose-undertone is perfect for my fair/light skin. For reference I am a NW20 in MAC. What I love most about this powder is the light-reflecting particles, it truly brightens up my face and leaves me with a subtle glow. If you prefer a more matte powder then this isn't the one for you. I have shade 125C (a medium with cool/pink undertones). Sephora's description, "Perfect for taking with you on the go, Soft Focus Finishing Pressed Powder is air-milled into a micro-fine texture and blended with perfectly spherical, soft-focus particles to hide pores, diffuse imperfections, and create the silkiest application and feel without settling into fine lines. Knowing When To Call It A Day

Women tend to thrive on friendships. There’s no better cure for all manner of ills than getting

together with a close friend to discuss matters of the heart and head. Women tend to analyse and

discuss their thoughts, feelings and concerns and to support and comfort a close friend at such a

time that she should need it.

Yet, when so much time and energy is invested in female friendships, it can often prove incredibly

difficult to sever ties when a relationship no longer reaps the reciprocal rewards you would come

to expect. It may be that ending a friendship is internalised as a personal failure. Guilt also plays a

big part in a woman’s reluctance to call time on a friendship as does concern that the individual’s

feelings will be hurt.

Worries about the repercussions might also be a reason for stalling when it comes to severing ties. If

there are mutual friendships to be considered, there may be negative consequences or a tendency

to take sides thrown into the mix as well.

While all of these concerns are understandable, they don’t necessarily justify clinging on to a

friendship that is draining and exhausting. After all, friendships are voluntary and not all will be life

long. There are usually a myriad of reasons why someone comes to the conclusion that a friendship

is untenable. It’s not usually due to childish or churlish complaints, messing up a beloved, borrowed

maxi dress, stealing the attentions of a subject of lust or such other playground politics. There will

inevitably have been a history of hurt to come to such a decision.

If there are mutual friendships in the equation it may be wiser to take a step back rather than sever

ties completely. When pressed to get together, tell the person in question that you have your own

ongoing issues to deal with and need the emotional time to do so. It may be appropriate to focus

on yourself rather than transfer the blame for your decision onto her. Avoid getting into lengthy

discussions about specifics and if questioned by your mutual acquaintances, avoid the temptation to

elaborate on the situation in a ‘warts and all’ exposé.

Chances are if your friend is needy and suffocating then the process of separation may not be

straightforward. If she is dependent on you then her tendency to cling will mean you need to be

consistent and clear. Stick to your guns and allow yourself the opportunity to engage in healthier

relationships that don’t take their toll on your happiness.

This is one of my favorite tinted moisturizers that I have ever tried. It has a great coverage for a tinted moisturizer. My skin feels hydrated and super smooth! The shade is perfect for me, not too pink and not too yellow. Mix this with Laguna Illuminator to darken for your summer complexion.

Wild for TANtalizer Eyeshadow Quad

This eyeshadow quad is so pretty and the shimmery colors are great for a summer-neutral eye. I used the top two colors in my video (at the bottom of this post). Out of all colors, the only one I had a hard time swatching was Panthera (which is a little harder in texture). All of the other colors are silky and well-pigmented.

In my video you will see that I put Fierce in the center of the eyelid and Tigris on the inner and outer corners. I was going for a sultry-Tigris type of look and it these colors definitely helped me achieve what I was going for.

Wild for TANtalizer Bronzer

This bronzer has a soft overspray as you can see... it's to further enhance the tiger stripes but it's still beautiful without the overspray... there's a golden sheen and in no way is it a matte bronzer! It gives you a luminous glow that looks good as a blush as well.

This came in the Wild for TANtalizer collections set and I was pretty blown away by this color! It's almost like a bronzed-pink, which I do not own, so it came as a nice surprise. It smells yummy like creme brulee and more long-wearing... but beware, if you do not like sticky lipglosses (which tend to be longer-lasting) then you will not like this one.

Breakthrough Performance Foundation (SMS 4)

It's a satin finish, second skin, dewy-glowy-look-in-a-bottle! I can still see my skin through it which makes me so happy because I don't feel claustrophobic or caky. This looks great in photography and on camera as well! I have used this a few times for bridal wedding makeup; needless to say it holds up well and looks fantastic for the big day!

Double Feature Concealer (shade 1.5)

Meet my new best friend. He conceals me, brightens underneath my eyes and highlights the tops of my cheekbones (yes, all at the same time). I tried this years ago and, honestly, I have no idea where I have been without it for so long!! It is, by far, one of the best concealers I have ever tried. What I would like to see is the highlighter (on the bottom portion) made into a "click-pen" concealer, much like the touch eclat by YSL. The highlighter is dispensed with a doe-foot applicator, much like a lipgloss. Regardless, the product itself is so creamy, smooth and has a beautiful luminosity!

Baked Matte Satin Blush in Plush

Cantaloupe-peachy with no pink in it whatsoever. This is a beautiful summer peachy blush that is a nice change from all of the pink blushes I own! Baked Matte Satin blushes are exactly that... baked, not too matte and not too shimmery, the perfect satin finish to make you glow without being to shiny.

Visual Effects Mascara

Coolest brush ever! It separates, lengthens and thickens the lashes. You can switch and maneuver the brush around your lashes to create the look you want. To be able to manipulate a mascara wand is so important as it helps to give you the lashes you want. This mascara does not disappoint!

The lights in my bathroom are so yellow!

Everything you just read is so true, eco-friendly, balanced grip, ultra-lightweight, and quiet (in comparison to other one's I have used for sure)! It dries my hair within minutes (remind you I have fine thin hair), but still it's amazing and dries your hair FAST!

My favorite part is that it has a multi-heat setting, so you can choose high, medium or low heat AND high or low airflow. The cool shot is best, I use it at the end to cool down my head (since I use the medium heat setting). I also use the cool shot to add shine!!!

I say this is a MUST HAVE dryer

It does not have a self-tanner in it. The bronzer washes off in the shower.

I continue to use it because it literally makes you glow with bronze radiance!

Argan Matchmaster Serum Foundation

This is a really cool product! Very hydrating, hence "serum" foundation.

Argan oil has so many wonderful benefits for the skin.

This is in "fair", although turns out to be more of a "light" shade on my skintone.

It pumps out white.

As you blend it into the skin, it changes color to match your complexion!

It's a dewy and hydrating foundation with a light-to-medium coverage.

Josie Maran Beautiful Eyes Palette

These shadows are silky and smooth. Hydrating to the eyelids and they go on like butter!

The bottom left corner shade is the only one that has chunky bits of shimmer.

The middle shade is for lining and works great in the outer-v!

It's the perfect everyday eyeshadow palette!

Moroccan Oil (my favorite hair serum)

My hair eats this product up in the summer!!

The heat and sun can be damaging and this keeps it hydrated and healthy!

Murad Skincare (the Vitamin C line is amazing!)

The AHA/BHA Cleanser is one of my new favorites.

The Radiance Peel is so good, it brightens your skin instantly. My favorite Vitamin C products are shown here, theres a brightening serum that has 2% Hydroquinone so it's bound to brighten your skin over time (just make sure to do it at night and use a high SPF in the day). The Exfoliating Acne Treatment Gel is a 1% Salicylic Acid that helps keep my breakouts away and helps treat the current ones.

Overall, loving Murad and I'm extremely impressed with the ingredients and results!

I LOVE this product! I do it at night because my face does get red. I am not going to lie, it does tingle and itch a little. But the results are so worth it! What is it?
A grain-free exfoliator that mildly dissolves lackluster dead skin cells, pore-clogging impurities and gobbles them up with no irritating friction.

What's in it?

*24-karat gold foil releases anions to balance the ions of the skin and help brighten the skin complexion.

*Witch hazel and algae extracts tone the skin and protect it from irritation.

Results?
Leaves the skin feeling supple and silky smooth. Skin beams with youthful exuberance. Looking fresh and radiant.

Whit's take: this is my most favorite gel exfoliator I have ever tried!!!! It truly does what it says and is worth the money in my opinion! Only thing I'd recommend is using it once or twice a week. Rinse with water and make sure you wear a good moisturizer because it can be a bit drying. Highly recommended product!

What I used

Face: Illamasqua's Satin Primer, NARS Sheer Glow in Santa Fe, Mineral Evolution Pressed Powder Makeup SPF 20 in #12, NARS Orgasm/Laguna duo for bronzer and blush.

Eyes:
NARS Pro Prime Eyeshadow Base, MAC Pigments in Violet (inner corner and bottom inner lashline), Blue (middle of the lid) and Kelly Green (outer lid). Blended the crease with MAC shadows in Symmetry and A Little Folie. In the outer "v" I used Sienna Cosmetics beautiful green shade in Fixation (also used on the bottom outer lashline). Liner on top is Dolly Wink liquid pen liner in black. Waterline and tightline is Chanel's waterproof long lasting eyeliner in Ébène #10. Went over liner to set with an angled brush and MAC shadow in Carbon.

Brows:
I used the brown eyeliner from the Physicians Formula shimmer strips custom eye enhancing eyeliner trios. I took an angled brow brush and swept it over the brown pencil (since the formula is so creamy) it glides on super smooth and stays on all day! I apply it as if I was using a brow powder.
