DIY Sidewalk Chalk Paint (Repost)

I love Pinterest, it's my go to place for new craft ideas for Lady A. When I first saw it, I knew we had to try out the DIY Sidewalk Chalk Paint. It is so easy to make! Check it out below:

In a medium bowl mix together 1 cup water and 1 cup cornstartch
Divide equally into small bowls or a muffin tin
Add 2-4 drops of food coloring to make your colors (the more drops the brighter the color)

The paint looks the best after it dries a bit. Mix together some colors to make your own shades.

Plan ahead and get there early!

Ever wonder how people get the best coupon deals? Well it really is all about planning ahead and getting there early!

1.) I start with slickdeals.net to get my match-up, they have great forums that normally have ads up a week or two before the sales start. This is a HUGE plus as it allows you to order coupons ahead of time on items you want to stockpile. For example I always check what items will be BOGO at Publix that way I can order my coupons to get here before Thursday (the first day of new ads at our Publix)

2.) Next I either write out my list with the coupon break down to the actual amount I should pay per item.. and if I'm feeling really organized I might do a spreadsheet.. that doesn't happen often. My list states the amount I'm purchasing, exact item, size of the item, coupons used and prices.

3.) GET THERE EARLY! This is really important especially with the drug store deals like Walgreens. I must have some extreme couponers near me.. ya know the shelf clearing kind (How RUDE!) cause if I don't get there on Sunday the best deals are gone.. -

I was sent a few flavors to try with my favorite dish or use in a recipe! We are big on meal planning and so I wanted to incorporate the soda into what we already had planned (this girl is keeping to the budget!) Tonight the hubby grilled some yummy burgers that he served on the homemade bread I made earlier in the week.

I decided that we deserved a delicious adult beverage to enjoy after a long day of enjoying the Florida weather. I'm not a huge wine fan but do enjoy a glass of Moscato from time to time so I thought I could make a new drink combining the two drinks.

Ingredients per serving:

2 oz Chek Fruit Punch Soda (Could use other but this is perfect!)

5 oz Moscato (any brand!)

4-6 raspberries (to make it look pretty!)

Pour all into your wine glass, take a seat outside, sip, and enjoy!

Every parents knows how hard it is to keep car-seats cool and clean. From day one my daughter has been my mini heater, works great in the winter when its chilly as snuggling with her could keep me warm all day but not a fun thing in the summer heat. As we live in FL the car can get pretty warm quickly even if we are just running into the store and my daughter is normally all sweaty within minutes of strapping her in the seat.

Meeno Babies has designed a seat liner that not only does the job of helping keep the car seat itself clean but also helps cool down the baby. The layers of unique fabric and insulation help with allow airflow between the child and the seat while reducing sweat and moisture. With a universal design and several color options including pink, blue, tan, black, and silver the seat liner can easily fit most car seats. You can find three different designed liners on the website to fit bucket seats/infant style, regular car seats, and strollers.

I was sent both a regular 'Cool Mee' car seat liner and a 'Cool Mee' stroller liner to review. Both liners came with a instruction sheet to help with proper and quick installation, the easy to follow directions made installing a breeze.

I choose to install the stroller liner on the jogging stroller we use for our nightly walks. This stroller has what is referred to as a five point system, so I did have to unhook and feed the straps through the holes for the shoulder and hip points. Thankfully my stroller is easy to unstrap/re-strap, and the liner stays in place while adding a little color to the stroller.

The carseat liner required a different installation than the stroller but was even easier, I am so glad that it didn't require any unstrapping as we all know that can take along time with carseats. This liner comes in two pieces, the main 'body' piece and the headrest circle which you connect with the provided velcro that allows you to find the right fit for your model of seat. We have had the seat liner in the car for about a week now and I feel like it has made a difference for my daughter. Of course she is still a little damp when I pull her out of her seat but its a big difference compared to the normal fully soaked shirt. At first I was worried that the liner might shift around while she is seated but once she is strapped in properly it stays put.

I was recently chosen to be a part of Old Navy Style Council via Crowdtap and sent a coupon to try out the Old Navy White Jeans. I was both excited to try them and a little nervous as I wasn't sure if I was 'hip' enough to pull them off, I'm normally a simple tee shirt and blue jeans kind of gal.

Crowdtap and Old Navy were nice enough to send two coupons, one for me and one to give to a friend. I decided to give the extra coupon to my friend/neighbor's teenage daughter, as I knew she would really put them to use.

I ended up trying on a few pairs to see which fit best and decided on the Sweetheart Jeans in Skinny. These are officially my first pair of white jeans and my first pair of skinny jeans too. I've always steered clear of the skinny fit as I thought they would make me look heavier which I was surprised to find they have more of a slimming effect. Now the white thing is a little scary as the mother of a messy toddler, so I might just keep these aside for date nights.

The jeans are lightweight and great for the spring/summer and I liked how they had just the right amount of stretch to them. I know normally I wear a smaller size in Old Navy jeans to begin with but I was loving that fact that I was able to go down even lower than the size I normally wear in this brand thanks to some recent weight lost.

I would defiantly recommend these jeans as a great spring wardrobe staple and I actually might look to pick up a pair of colored jeans if they come in the same styles.
