Kaine's ongoing assistance in helping other families with missing children has earned him the "Honorary Social Worker of the Year"award on Sunday, April 1, during National Child Abuse Prevention Month opening ceremonies at the day long celebration’s Leadership Luncheon, being held at Sunrise Event Center according to ABC News.

While never giving up on the search for Kyron, Kaine has also taken a proactive approach in reaching out to other families with missing children as well. Having been through the same experience, his assistance to them is both beneficial and supportive. Specifically, Kaine is being recognized for ""the courageous stand he has taken for families in crisis, focusing his pain in a positive, pro-active direction."

Sacramento’s April 1st opening ceremony events kicks off a 50 state campaign which aims to use the four week period as a foundation for building a more comprehensive and cohesive system of care nation wide. One that includes public-private sector partnerships which help plug the holes our children continue to fall through.

Getting Away With Murder?

There is a lot of speculation out there regarding the disappearance of Kyron Horman, there are also a lot of questions regarding Terri, her whereabouts and actions as well. However, putting all the speculation aside we must ask how Terri simply pleading the 5th has successfully kept the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office from charging her with any crimes. This is the burning question, with what appears to be a pretty decent amount of evidence, even circumstantial, why are they sitting on it?

Murder For Hire
Let's take a look at what we do know starting with the murder for hire plot which basically comes down to a case of he said she said. Since the failed attempt at a wire where Terri effectively shutdown the conversation with the landscaper immediately, it comes down to his word against hers. Whether the prosecution found the landscaper's testimony uncredible or didn't feel they had enough is hard to tell, but in any case they have apparently chosen to drop it.

Precedent - Charging & Convicting Without A Body

Although convictions without a body are rare, they aren't unheard of. In many cases they've found evidence matching the victim, in this case Kyron was riding in a family vehicle so that can obviously be ruled out. However, cases with seemingly less circumstantial evidence have been successfully prosecuted and won, such as the case of David Schubert, convicted 2002 for murdering his wife. Or Katherine Rutan convicted of first-degree murder in the death of her 6-year-old son, in an eerily similar case where she took him into the woods and returned without him. In both cases, no body was ever found.

Though it appears the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office is doing everything they can, many searches, due diligence, task forces, etc. we are still left to wonder why they have chosen not to charge Terri with what may be circumstantial, but also seemingly overwhelming evidence. Is there a DA who won't touch it, if so why not? There is little doubt that those who have worked tirelessly in this case have endured their fair share of frustration as well but the Sheriffs office shares some culpability by choosing not to act.

Terri's Double Life

As the ongoing investigation nears it's first anniversary in the search for answers in Kyron's disappearance, overwhelming evidence shows that Terri Horman has been leading a double life. According to Kaine Horman the list of questions about Terri's past keep growing and much of what investigators are asking him to corroborate he had no idea of.

The investigation continues to dredge on, but seemingly at a much slower pace. When asked if he thought they had enough evidence to convict Terri, Kaine said "I'll say 'no.'

New Search This Weekend

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office continued the search for Kyron Horman on Saturday, March 26th. The location was picked due to specific information gained through the investigation, but a spokesman couldn’t elaborate on details.

Meanwhile, June 4th will be the first anniversary since Kyron went missing and the search and investigation, though slowed, does not show any signs of letting up.

Desiree Young Attempts to Bring Interest Back to Terri Horman

On Saturday Desiree Young traveled to Roseburg and is asking the local community to put pressure on Terri Horman asking "Where is Kyron?". Posting signs on street corners and speaking with media Young says police have informed her of written clues from Terri Horman herself that detail her disdain for Kyron. She says the clues blame the boy for Terri Horman’s failing marriage to Kyron’s father.

Multnomah County Sheriff Dan Staton will brief commissioners on the search for missing Portland boy Kyron Horman and the state of the investigation next week. Unless there is something breaking, it's unlikely that anything new will be said.

Search Continues Today on Skyline Drive and Dixie Mountain Road

The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office resumes the search for Kyron Horman Sunday. A team of about 40-50 law enforcement officials and a half-dozen dogs will investigate specific areas around Skyline Drive and Dixie Mountain Road.

"Weather conditions prevented the searching of these two locations a month or six weeks ago because of the snow up there, and dogs are not effective when it's below 40 degrees," said Multnomah County Sheriff's Sgt. Keith Krafve, a supervisor of the Kyron Horman Task Force.

Sheriff Dan Staton: more confident than ever that the case will be solved

Claiming that the initial 6 hour window when Kyron was not reported missing had them on their heels, Sheriff Dan Staton now says they're confident that they have built a solid case. Solid enough for what though, a conviction of Terri Horman? While they still won't name her as a person of interest, it's the only logical conclusion we can draw.

DeDe Spicher refuses to take lie detector test

According to PrimeWriter DeDe is refusing to take a polygraph test, the reason is not given and as with many other aspects of this case we are left go guess why not. It could be at the advice of her attorney, she could be nervous about the case or maybe even involved. In any case, she is refusing it.

Meanwhile, Kyron has been missing since June 4th and these ladies have lawyered up instead of assisting in finding him, if they aren't involved what's with all the secret cell phones? Who really thinks the Grand Jury is working side by side with the Sheriff's Office on a "witch hunt" just for fun? Are they serious? Terri tried to have Kaine murdered for Chrissakes, flags have popped up all over the place in this case and we can only hope that they are mounting an investigation that leads to an arrest.

For the Terri defenders I would say take a good close look at the facts presented so far and try to look at them logically. Terri has not done a single thing to assist in this investigation, she has only hindered it, then hired a high priced lawyer so she can remain clammed up. So instead of running around screaming about how Terri has been wronged maybe you should be thinking about that 7 year old boy and how she has done nothing but think of herself while hindering this investigation.

DeDe Spicher defends Terri Horman in People Magazine interview

In an exclusive interview with People Magazine DeDe Spicher goes to great lengths to defend Terri Horman, also claiming she never left the home she was gardening the day Kyron Horman disappeared, even though evidence does not support that claim and in fact shows that she could not be located on the gardening property during that time and could not be reached by phone.

When asked about what she told police and whether she thought Terri Horman was involved in Kyron's disappearance this is what she had to say:

Asked by PEOPLE in an exclusive new interview whether she thinks stepmom Terri Horman was involved in Kyron's disappearance, Spicher, 43, says, "I just really don't. In my heart, I really don't. In all of these years [as her friend], I have not seen anything that would lead me to believe that she is capable or motivated in any way to do something like this."

Spicher says she's told police the same thing. "They wanted me to tell them that Terri did it or that Terri knew something," she says. "I told them everything that I knew, over and over again. But I didn't tell them what they wanted to hear."

Lately, defenders of Terri Horman have been making themselves heard, sparked by a new Facebook page called Terri Horman Support Page many are voicing their opinions in defense of Terri. This has also been making its rounds in the media even though the actual turnout (those who "like") this page is relatively low.

The page creator has this description: "In America, one is presumed innocent until proven guilty in the court of law, NOT in the court of "public opinion"

With charges yet to be filed, Terri is technically presumed innocent until proven guilty and that is the premise which some are using to back her in an otherwise contentious court of public opinion.

Kyron's wall of hope being moved before school starts

Some parents expressed concern about strangers coming to the wall and the emotional impact on students while school is in session so the Horman family has agreed to move the memorial. Many still visit the wall regularly to read the notes and see all the well wishes, at this time it's unknown where it will move to but an announcement is expected within a few days. DeDe and Terri both unaccounted for at same time

On the day Kyron went missing both Terri Horman and DeDe Spicher were unaccounted for during the same time period.

Sources tell KGW that DeDe Spicher, a close friend of Terri's, was doing gardening work not far from the Horman family home on the day Kyron disappeared, but was unaccounted for during a three-hour period from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. She could not be reached by cell phone during this time either, according to sources.

Sources also tell KGW that, during the period of time DeDe was unaccounted for, her car remained at the property where she had been gardening. According to sources, that detail is significant because, if DeDe left the property as investigators believe, she would have had to leave in another vehicle.

Presser - More information requested from public

During a press conference today the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office is once again asking the public for tips. Specifically they are looking for witnesses who saw the white truck in the photos on or near Northwest Springville Road, Skyline Road, Germantown Road, Northwest Old Germantown Road and Newberry Road on the morning of Friday, June 4.

They also are looking for anyone who may have seen Terri Horman, or the white truck at a Hillsboro or Beaverton Fred Meyer store that day.

They are also asking that anyone who had a car at the school the day Kyron went missing please contact them. This seems like it's telling, once can speculate many reasons for this of course but perhaps they know of all the cars that were there and want to see who steps up and who doesn't? In any case once again they are keeping what information they have close to their sleeves and refused to answer any questions about Terri.

DeDe Spicher gone for over 3 hours on day of Kyron's disappearance

It was originally thought that DeDe Spicher was only gone from 11:15 a.m. on June 4 and returned around 1 p.m. Today we have learned that it was over 3 hours where she was nowhere to be found either by phone or by her co-workers according to KGW

With the new search efforts comes new details in the Kyron Horman case. Though details are scarce at this time, the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office is expected to give new information as to why they have been stepping up their efforts recently.

They have also released this new flyer to neighbors including photos of DeDe Spicher, they have seemingly garnered new information from her and are following up accordingly.

The Grand Jury is continuing to listen to testimony from those Terri associated with at the gym.

Terri Horman's emails surrounding Kyron's disappearance released

There's a lot to take in here so I am going to post the whole thing taken from KATU's site. Lots of contradictions from a seemingly frantic Terri Horman.

PORTLAND, Ore. - Long before the alleged murder-for-hire plot and sexting affairs, it seems Terri Moulton Horman knew suspicions settled on her, according to e-mails written by Horman and obtained by KATU News.
“They are blaming me in the blogs. I just want to scream,” she wrote in one e-mail to a KATU News source the day after her stepson, Kyron Horman vanished from Skyline School during a science fair. Investigators say Terri Horman was the last person to see Kyron.

“The teacher thought I said I was going to take Kyron with Kitty for a doctor’s appt.,” she wrote on June 5, 2010. “I said I was going to look at other exhibits - how do you mess that up? His coat and backpack were still at school. I left the school at 9 and he was seen with a man ‘chaperone’ and 2 girls after I left. There were no men on the chaperone list. That and it was highly chaotic - had to been 300 people running around - no coordination ...”

The reference to her daughter’s doctor visit not mentioned again in a follow-up e-mail sent later that day:

"I didn't just drop him off, I spent time with him, took pictures and he was in safe hands I thought as I watched him walk down the hall.

“Kids saw him after I left. Teacher put him as absent at 10am. Someplace between 9-10 is when we think it happened.

“I have a receipt showing I was checking out at Fred Meyer 7 miles away at 9:12am. I went to another FM looking for meds for Kitty they didn't have at the first FM. Then I was trying to get Kitty to sleep in the truck for a few minutes, but no go, so off to the gym at 11:20. Out at 12:20. Home at 12:45. Kaine home at 2. Bus at 3:30. That was my day - they keep asking me. Now on my 5th interview with them ..."

Horman went on to talk about Kyron’s recent behavior.

"The past 2 weeks he's been acting really weird. Staring off into space. Can't remember anything. Walks into the room and then back out, stopping to stare and then move on. The doc thinks that he is having mini seizures and I made an appt on Thursday for next Friday to have him checked out."

That contradicts what multiple sources have told KATU News. In the days before the science fair, Terri informed Kyron’s teacher he had the appointment that day, June 4, which is why no one expected he would be in class and was marked absent.

Second person in Terri's truck the day of Kyron's disappearance

According to KGW there was a second person in the now infamous truck that Terri was driving on the day Kyron went missing. MCSO will have a press conference Wed morning at 11:00 PDT where we should expect to hear more details than we have in recent pressers.

"According to several sources in the Skyline community, including people who have spoken with investigators, the person was seen by at least two witnesses while Terri was in the school with Kyron.
Investigators have gone through Terri's cell phone and email records trying to establish who the person was.

“It's really significant if someone else was in there---and people are indicating it wasn't a child,” said C.W. Jensen, a former Portland Police Homicide Detective." KGW

Kaine made Terri's teenage son move out of the house before the disappearance of Kyron, witnesses say that she told friends at 24 Hour Fitness that she was upset over it according to KATU. This appears to be the first real motive we've heard thus far.

In other news Investigators are continuing their search in the woods near Kyron's school today and though there is speculation they could be searching for cell phones, they are using dogs as well.

As the search continues into today, tips from DeDe are breathing new life into the search for Kyron. attorney Bruce McCain, a former captain of the Multnomah County tells the Early Show this is now a forensic search and investigators are seeking criminal evidence and that it looks like DeDe is opening up. The search included a garden that DeDe worked on and scaling down hillsides, they also used dogs and searched nearby neighbors land.

Today investigators spent hours searching a large property where Dede Spicher was gardening on June 4th, the day that Kyron disappeared. DeDe has an hour that unaccounted for on the day Kyron went missing. No location has been given as of yet that I've found, you can see what little information there is on KGW.

The plot thickens, It sounds like DeDe can be much more involved than just a shoulder to cry on for Terri. It's good to see they are still at it and following up on tips.

DeDe Spichers cousin's internet postings removed

DeDe Spicher's cousin goes by the name jonesr on the site GodLikeProductions and made a post regarding Dede being implicated. The discussion went on for weeks and for some reason was just pulled from their site, there is only speculation as to why but law enforcement may have had something to do with it.

MY COUSIN HAS JUST BEEN IMPLICATED IN THE KYRON HORMAN CASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got a call from my cousin last night, he said his sister Dede Spicher was in the middle of this whole thing. From what I can get from the huge buzz in the family is she has been friends with the step monster for a while, most of the people that knew Teri Horman say she is a psycho.

It would seem that Dede was working in a garden with another friend in the Hormans neighborhood, she left at about 11:15 and was unaccountable for about an hour and a half, then returned.

Dede has been accused by the father and the bio mom of Kyron of texting Teri Horman giving advise that was not conclusive to finding Kyron and to help cover Teris ass. UNFUCKIN BELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!
This is going to jury on monday, I will keep GLP informed.

The wierdest part is I live in Portland too, and this case has held my attention from the very start, my sons name is pronounced the same way but spelled different, really creepy!

The wierd thing is that she is not cooperating with the police or investigators, her father is a sherriff in Klamath county, and a member of search and rescue. They helped look for Kyron.

Now he is there with her, and they are not talking and lawyer ing up.

Family or not, if she is an accomplice, and the media here is painting her to be just that, she needs to pay the maximum penalty if guilty.

I wonder what's in the garden, and if it was Dede that was seen following Teri at high speed out of swavie island. If so that little boy may just be found in the Columbia river.

DeDe Spicher tips leads to new search

Apparently DeDe Spicher has been able to give enough information to law enforcement officials to justify a new search east of Skyline Elementary on Saturday. Though her friends maintain that DeDe has been more cooperative than Kaine and Desiree of claimed, according to KGW investigators still do not believe she's sharing everything she knows. Meanwhile, the Grand Jury continues to meet and we'll probably hear more on that this coming week.
