Achieving Self-control with Autism

Self-discipline is a skill that most autistic children have trouble acquiring. This includes not only inappropriate outbursts, but also habits that can be potentially dangerous, such as being aggressive towards others or causing harm to themselves, such as banging their heads off walls. To prevent these and other behaviors, one technique parents and educators can use to control autistic tendencies is self-management. Giving the child power over him- or herself is often the key to keeping control over violent situations and may be a positive step towards learning other behaviors as well.

Self-management works because the child is no longer fully controlled by others. By teaching self-management during specific times of day, such as while the child is at school or therapy, the child will be more likely to continue to practicing self-control during all times of the day. The key is to implement a program in which he or she monitors his or her own behavior and activities. Begin with short amounts of time, and continue to monitor the child from a more passive standpoint. Every ten to fifteen minutes remind the child that he or she is in control and needs to monitor and be aware of good and bad behavior.

This monitoring is a form of self-evaluation. When a child is in control, he or she may think more closely about behavior in the past and present. Set clear goals with the child—for example, an afternoon with no aggression towards others or a day at school with no self-injury. Every fifteen minutes ask the child how he or she is doing. Is the goal being met? If the answer is no, perhaps the child is not ready for self-management, or perhaps the goals are too unattainable. You want to make sure that the goals are easy to reach at first, and then move the child towards more difficult goals in the future. When a child is successful at self-monitoring, he or she will have a more positive attitude towards the experience.

Of course, an important part of self-management is a rewards system. Have the child come up with his or her own reward, depending on interest. Reinforcement will make these good behavior goals more clearly marked in the child’s mind, and by choosing and rewarding him- or herself, the child will feel completely in control of the self-management system. Choose simple rewards to start, such as smiley faces for every goal met and sad faces for every goal not met, and work up to a larger goal, such as a special activity or new toy when a certain amount of smiley faces has been attained.

These types of programs do not develop overnight, so it is important that you and the child have enough time to devote to a self-management experience. By reinforcing good behavior with rewards, as determined by the child instead of by an adult, he or she will be more likely to carry this on even when not participating in the program. This is something I have been working on a little this week myself. Have joined a few now, but the last one I signed up for seems to be really moving along.

Social networks aren't a just today and forget type of advertising.

Being a part of Success Quik isn't just about the advertising, it's using the advertising and the training to enable you to be a success at what it is you are promoting or showing others.

Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and now Swom, are all social networks that will enable you to meet people who are doing the same thing you are. Trying to succeed online. One main difference is though that you don't need what they have in order to sell your product. Now if you switch that around, they do need what you are promoting with Success Quik. We all need advertising. Did you ever see someone decide to sell their used car, just sit it in their driveway and wait for the people to start calling? Nope, it doesn't happen that way. They placed an ad or at least put a sign on the car. They advertised.

There are groups in these places.After joining the sites, go into them and check out the groups. Find some that are about something you are interested in and join. Then ask some of the members to be your friend.
Like I said, I just joined Swom and I am in the process of doing this. I joined yesterday and every time I sign in I have more people asking me to be their friend.

After you get confirmation of friendship, send them a friendly note, not a sales pitch for SQ, just a hi nice to meet you and thanks for being a friend.

We learned about reverse marketing in the last lesson. That can be used here also. If someone introduces their product to you, ask them if they would like to see some of the things you are interested in also. Let them know you are only trying to help them build their business. People are much more willing to accept something from someone trying to help them out.

Make sure you ad your Who is page to your correspondence and your site. This page is so important. I do hope you completed that step.

If they are serious marketers, they will respond. It they are only in the site to advertise their own site without caring about anyone else, they will igonor your request to help them out.

Build friendships and relationships before trying to sell anyone anything. I won't buy from someone I just met and have no trust in.

Most people online are not really knowledgeable about what they are trying to do and are always searching for someone to mentor them. Not boss them but just show them some easier ways of doing things.

We can help these people out so much by introducing what we have to them. Advertising. Advertising withoug the slaving at the computer for hours to build credits. This is one easy way to advertise and then move on to other ways that you choose to do too.

If you build trust and friendship before trying to sell people things, you are more likely going to make the sales.

Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and now Swom, are all social networks that will enable you to meet people who are doing the same thing you are. Trying to succeed online. One main difference is though that you don't need what they have in order to sell your product. Now if you switch that around, they do need what you are promoting with Success Quik. We all need advertising. Did you ever see someone decide to sell their used car, just sit it in their driveway and wait for the people to start calling? Nope, it doesn't happen that way. They placed an ad or at least put a sign on the car. They advertised.

There are groups in these places.After joining the sites, go into them and check out the groups. Find some that are about something you are interested in and join. Then ask some of the members to be your friend.
Like I said, I just joined Swom and I am in the process of doing this. I joined yesterday and every time I sign in I have more people asking me to be their friend.

After you get confirmation of friendship, send them a friendly note, not a sales pitch for SQ, just a hi nice to meet you and thanks for being a friend.

We learned about reverse marketing in the last lesson. That can be used here also. If someone introduces their product to you, ask them if they would like to see some of the things you are interested in also. Let them know you are only trying to help them build their business. People are much more willing to accept something from someone trying to help them out.

Make sure you ad your Who is page to your correspondence and your site. This page is so important. I do hope you completed that step.

If they are serious marketers, they will respond. It they are only in the site to advertise their own site without caring about anyone else, they will igonor your request to help them out.

Build friendships and relationships before trying to sell anyone anything. I won't buy from someone I just met and have no trust in.

Most people online are not really knowledgeable about what they are trying to do and are always searching for someone to mentor them. Not boss them but just show them some easier ways of doing things.

We can help these people out so much by introducing what we have to them. Advertising. Advertising withoug the slaving at the computer for hours to build credits. This is one easy way to advertise and then move on to other ways that you choose to do too.

If you build trust and friendship before trying to sell people things, you are more likely going to make the sales.

SACRIFICE

For the past month I sacrificed food I craved and forced myself to exercise like I haven’t in years. The result? 15 pounds of (mostly) fat loss.
BUT I get to do all that because of sacrificing first. Working first. Rewarding second.
Bottom line if it’s not clear already…

Pursue FREEDOM not FREEDUMB.

Believe in hard work and work hard. Ignore the lies and outright deception about internet riches from ease. Commit yourself to personal and professional growth. Create a 6 month to one year plan and go for it.
You hear about people who say, “I’ve been on the internet for 2 years and haven’t made a penny.” I can just about guarantee they are following the FREEDUMB path.
Sacrifice.

Sacrifice sleep.

Sacrifice television.

Sacrifice freedumb and gain real freedom.
Success is NOT an Accident,

In a month…

You could launch a new product.

Build a new email list.
Publish 30 solid, attention grabbing articles.
Create 30 videos for YouTube traffic
Launch a coaching program.
Start a new blog to brand yourself.
Gain a few thousand Twitter followers.

Welcome To My Personal Blog
Hi, and welcome to my personal information site and thank you for visiting, it tells me that you have an interest in knowing me better.

Believe me the feeling is mutual.

And with that in mind, let me tell you a little about myself.

I was born and raised in Louisiana. in the NE. area. From there my GrandMother called me, (BabyBro that is) , where I spent over a decade in New Orlean working as a Cook in the French Quarters.

My wife Linda and I have owned and operated a few offline businesses in the past but found that the future is on the internet. Just to show you a little more of our limited successes and what that has meant for us, we were able to have our Home here in Riverside Ca.

The reason that I took an interest in Internet Marketing is that for the past 4 years I have been quietly building sites and joining different programs with the intention of generating an income from the internet.

Although I have been an active full time network marketer on the internet for the past 4 years and involved in a number of MLM type of companies, I have found that the sales of affiliate products is a bit more lucrative than trying to build huge downlines in MLM's.

That all being said though, it is and always has been my intention to help as many people succeed with internet marketing and website promotion as I possibly can.

It has been my experience that most people these days are looking for a way to supplement their incomes by selling a few informational products or by joining up in other opportunities online with the ultimate goal of earning a full time income. These are the folks that I am training.

What I have found is that it's not so much the products that you promote, it is first and foremost marketing yourself that matters. People want to connect to other people that they can trust. Most of my trainings are targeted with that philosophy in mind.
