You have to give it your all, and if you don't then what's the point? I have recently begun to have great faith in fools; my friends call it self-confidence. But my friends call and say a lot of things, does that makes things so? At times, perhaps, but most of the times it's a big fat no. I am myself, love it or hate it; and I am going to go after what I want in life. It might not always be the easiest path, or the smartest one for that matter, but is life there for you to live up to other peoples expectations and desires?

I am my own worst enemy and biggest critique. I recently read a very smart quote:

Don't think of yourself as an ugly person, think of yourself as a beautiful monkey.

I must admit it made me chuckle quite a bit. You are the only person who can hold yourself back. If you keep telling yourself you are ugly, you will believe it. Accept a challenge and try not to complain for 10 days, or even just the next 24 hours... should you choose to accept it you are very soon to realize just how much negativity runs through your life on a daily basis. And i can imagine what you are thinking right now: Blah Blah, negative thoughts, blah blah a bunch of bullshit... But Im not going to sit here and try to convince you of anything. Just that negative thought brought you down, and is that really what you want?

Something to keep in mind; an alcohol deprived hangover.

When not drinking the amount of alcohol that is usually needed to get you wasted the night before, the following day your body feels teased and weak due to the lack of alcohol consumption. In 90% of cases, consuming an alcoholic beverage the next morning as soon as possible will reduce symptoms.

Keep those drinks flowing!

And beside this point, I recently read an article describing why intelligent people tend to drink more alcohol .... Needless to say I enjoyed the psychology of it!

Give this a ponder, just for a minute. Have you ever started coming up with excuses for one thing after another, things you for some reason can't do or can't change? Well who says that is fact? Next time, ask yourself the question : Why can't I do this, and see if you can actually come up with any concrete reasons.... and I mean legitimate reasons people!

Rivalry in fashion is the rule, not the exception. There is Versace and Cavali, Dolce & Gabbana, the list goes on and on. But do our rivals gives us something we least expect? Do they in some small way teach us who it is we really are?

So how does the truly great stay great? They keep us guessing! They do not spend (at least not a majority of them) talking, but taking action. And whatever bricks people throw at you, use them to build a a fucking castle...

If you loose something while you are drunk, don't freak out. Odds are it's in your hands or your pocket.

I am beginning to appreciate ( while at the same time loath ) the act of party paparazzi's. If nothing else, they can be a great source for remembering the previous nights escapades. Though it must be said, that all photos taken must be viewed with a certain amount of self-distance, more often than not they are not the prettiest sight! And a couple of tips to those fresh out to the scene;

Keep a water bottle at ALL TIMES somewhere in your room
You will reek of alcohol the next day; do something about it!
Any stupidity you might have done, make sure to apologize for it. Your friends can only take so much of it
Avoid the vomit... please...

I never really understood how it could be...I mean keeping to yourself meant that others weren't subdued to your bragging and you could enjoy it all in peace. There is always something new; a new type of problem to be solved. I guess that's life though...

A new day generally calls for new adventures, but not today. Getting up early, ending late and spending the day depressed can royally fuck you up. Thank god for a bit of rain; the first rain in a several months. It gives you an excuse to allow yourself to stay in the warmth of your bed and cozy up. Unfortunately that is not a possibility at the moment...

Famous for its ice-cream and diving.

This is where i spent my first real holiday in Kenya.

Traveling methods;

Down: 15 hours by night train; very comfortable. While sleeping you felt like you were in a rocking bed.

Up: 14 hours by buss; not to recommend. My but has never been so numb as after those 14 hours.

The South Side beats the North side, sea wise at least. This is where all the diving was to be held. Im telling you, it becomes an addiction. Once you're down, 18 meters below, you simply don't want to come up!

Though the beaches are full of beach boys, the sun and the heat of the water make up for that fact. In some places, especially in the north side, the water is so warm that you barely get cooled of! It is literally warmer in the water than in the air though it is over 30 degrees!

Coconuts: a delicious treat. Also a perfect snack after diving.

Though the taste of the milk in most of them can be discussed, the "meat" is most appealing. At one time, we had a lad come and climb up a palm tree, using just a piece of string around his feet, cutting down coconuts as well as opening them for us, which, just for the record, is not as easy as it looks.

Scuba Diving: A dream come true! There really is nothing to compare it to. Going down and feeling that you are weightless under water while at the same time you feel the air rushing through your lungs; it is a new kind of heaven.

You can now sit at the bottom of the sea while the fishes, turtles and all other creatures swim around you.

Spending hours underwater, breathing, becoming one with the water, is what it is all about. As you lie at the bottom, realizing it has now gone 45 minutes since you last popped your head up above the surface, you can't help but feel a thrill go though your body.I can't believe I'm actually doing this.

The "first night out" is always something special. You need to check out the scenery, the people, the music and everything else. To feel the blood pump with excitement as you dance on unexplored grounds! I love the feeling. I am already psyched for next weekend; Earth Dance! Once a year and it is one of the biggest parties in Africa!

It's a wonderful place! You'll love it, no joke!

Rock climbing at fish rock, which, according to ledgend is a masai woman who turned into stone because she looked back towards her parents house on her wedding day as she was heading towards her husbands house. Gorge walks through parts of the Rift Valley with dried out volcanos and geysers. Bush walks with the animals at 6:am at sunrise. You will not see anything more pretty for a long long time!

A french touch in Nairobi

Alliance Française.

A french center in down town Nairobi. A place for culture, music and amusement.

Last friday, the Alliance Française organized an African concert. Lovely. The music was interesting and catchy. Deferentially something to try out.

Africa's most famous sax player Tutu performed at alliance Francaise. Three other smaller bands from various parts of the country also contributed to the music fest.

I'm lying here in a couch on the balcony in the sun. It is pretty darn awesome! I had an short school day too. Commenced at 9.50 with my first lesson "U-landskunskap" and finished at 14.00. I wouldn't mind having short days everyday.

Last night I dreamt that I was back home...or not really home but something like that at least...

I overslept this morning too...can't say that it was one of my brightest moves exactly. It is also terribly freezing here today...and i mean freezing. Though it says about 23 degrees, it really does not feel like it.

Today is also a special day in Kenya. The passing of a new legislation. Which means that all Kenyans are off today.

The rest of the day, besides oversleeping, but still making it on time to my lessons, was Spent at Impala, around a bonfire and dancing in a mates room.

All the smells, the sounds, the people. It's all so wonderful. They all give me such deja vu feelings....and I love it! After about two lessons or so I spent the day together with some others wandering the streets of Nairobi to Yaya center, a shopping mall in the outskirts of nairobi center. It's pretty nice there, though Toi market was more mesmerizing I must confess. A pair of genuine converse for 120kr..

Getting into business with the bad guys you have to be in total control. Unfortunately, bad guys can be unpredictable. They'll tell you to drink up baby, to stay up all night.
