Nebraska is flat.
Kansas is flat.
99% of other vehicles on the highway will have "Oversized Load" signs.
They are not fun to pass.
It's hard to find gas stations that aren't totally scary-looking.
Texas has a lot of bugs.
On the way home, it's probably NOT A GOOD IDEA to take a totally different route, that you may think is faster. Because it is definitely NOT.

I was reminded this past week of just how fragile and precious life is.
Reminded how suddenly worlds can be turned upside down.
How much my family and friends mean to me.
I wish I could ease everyone's hurt and pain,
take it away,
but I can't.
So I will surround them with love
and keep them in the forefront of my mind.
