If you read some financial advice and tips on how to make a better financial life, you might found an advice to avoid credit cards altogether. Well, I’m one the people who disagree with that idea. If one could use credit cards responsibly, they can be a great financial tool, especially if you sign up a credit cards program to get free items and perks.

Of course, you need to be careful not to get overcame your common sense in order to indulge the desire for rewards. Many people have already utilize credit cards to ‘get the points’ without any sort of accounting or control. Using credit cards is easy, and with the added incentive of rewards, someone could be easily trapped in debt.

You can make the most out of your current credit card to get free merchandise, airline tickets, and even money. However, you need to pay attention to the following rules on using your rewards cards:

1. You should not buy anything you can’t afford.
Many people still fail to heed this simple rule. Be sure to purchase only items you already have the money for. A colleague of mine use his credit card and deducts the money from his checking account ledger. Then she writes a check for her credit card balance in every end of the month.

2. Pay off your credit card balance every month.
To make sure not to get overwhelmed with debt interest, you have to follow this simple tip. You must have realized that the value of rewards could be easily destroyed by interest charges. If you earn 5% cash back from a program yet have to pay 15 % interest, that what good do you get from it; your reward is useless since you have to pay more than what you get.

3. If your intent is only to get the points, don’t buy. We should realize that using our credit card for points and buying something just to get points are different issue, not to mention buying what we would buy anyway. Should you want to buy things, only purchase what you would buy in the first place. It will help you comply with the first and the second rules .

4. Pay a good notice of your the terms of your reward credit cards.
Take a good look which cards can offer you more when getting gas and groceries, and look for programs that give you double points at certain merchants. Also learn about blackout dates and other restrictions for rewards . Only pick rewards program suit your lifestyle, and rewards cards that give you more points for anything you buy on a regular basis.

Be sure to create the right attitude about study and especially about reading-students do a lot of it! If you have something challenging to read and you tell yourself, “I’ll never understand this,” chances are that you won’t. You have conditioned yourself for failure. Instead, condition yourself for success. Give yourself affirmations such as:

“No matter how hard the reading level, I will learn something from this.”

“I will become a better reader with each reading task.”

“I can understand and I will remember.”

Have a positive attitude about your reading material, too. If you tell yourself, “This is going to be boring,” you undermine your chances for learning and enjoying. Even if you are not interested in the topic you have to read about, remember that you are reading it for a reason: You have something to gain. Keep your goals clearly in mind. Remember, it’s OK to reward yourself when you have completed a difficult reading assignment. (And the knowledge you gain from the reading is also its own reward.)

What if you have mastered the right attitude, but still can’t concentrate on your studies? Maybe you should look into mastering brain interference, too!

Can you focus on the task in front of you? Do you know how to eliminate brain interference?

In Study Smarts, authors Judi Kesselman-Turkel and Franklynn Peterson suggest that the most effective tip for concentrating is to eliminate “brain interference”-whatever distracts you from your ability to focus. Brain interference can range from being in love to wondering if your sister’s birthday is on Monday or Tuesday.

Try these suggestions to free your brain from interference:

If you are hungry, cold, hot, or sleepy, take care of it.

If you are a nibbler, have healthy snacks nearby before you start to study.

If you have nervous habits, such as twirling your hair or biting your nails, ask yourself if they calm you or distract you. If they distract you, think of a non-distracting substitute, such as holding a high-lighter in your hand.

If you need to have music or noise in the background, try Mozart or white noise. Music by Mozart has been proven to adjust brainwaves to their most receptive state; studying while listening to the Sonata for Two Pianos in D Major the night before exams improved students’ test scores! For white noise, try turning on a fan to create a consistent background noise that will mask any interrupting noises (TV in another room, your little brother’s play group) that could occur as you settle in for a study session.

If you keep thinking about irrelevant details (deadlines, questions to ask your coach, lyrics to a song), write them down, make lists, and keep a written or electronic calendar so that you can focus on studying instead.

If you are studying courses with similar concepts, such as physics and calculus, you should separate them on your study schedule to keep vocabulary and formulas clear.

If you are experiencing emotional interference-you are angry at your teacher or in trouble with your dad-talk it out with a friend, parent, or mentor.

If you are anxious about passing a chemistry course, your anxiety may actually help motivate you to remember better. However, if you are anxious about a dentist appointment, turn your thinking back to studying.

Defining the concept of happiness is not quite easy. Surely it is one of the most controversial and complicated definitions. Human beings have always tended to pursue happiness as a goal or an end, as an ideal and permanent welfare state. However, it seems that happiness is made up of little moments and fun inducing details found in a day. And perhaps its main characteristic is its ability to appear and disappear constantly throughout our lives.

Another controversies surrounding this issue is regarding where to find happiness, whether it is coming from material or external events and we can found one within our values or our own internal rules. It is still difficult to answer this question, or at least there are still many people arguing about this issue. For this reason, from a psychological point of view, the study of subjective well-being seems preferable to the approach of happiness.

Most people would rather be certain they’re miserable, than risk being happy.
~Robert Anthony

Happiness often sneaks in through a door you didn’t know you left open.
~John Barrymore

Happiness is a concept with deep meanings. It is not contained only by joy, but also many other emotions, some of which are not positive, such as commitment, struggle, challenge, even pain. It turns out, it is the motivation, the work on something, the desire to do so, your search, not the achievement or the satisfaction of desires, which produces positive deeper feelings in people.

Happiness is always a by-product. It is probably a matter of temperament, and for anything I know it may be glandular. But it is not something that can be demanded from life, and if you are not happy you had better stop worrying about it and see what treasures you can pluck from your own brand of unhappiness.
~Robertson Davies

Every one of us might come up with our own definition of happiness. And that’s OK.

I define happiness as … being at peace with oneself and the world. It happens when your mind (intent), body (action) and spirit (conscience) vibrate in unison. A rare occurrence when you leave it to chance but can happen all the time if you consciously seek it.
- Ali Said Husain, India

I define happiness as the feeling of what the continual effort in bettering me gives.
- Damon Abbott, Japan

I define happiness as … that sense of warmth that begins at the core of the soul, spreads to the heart, and radiates outward from the eyes and lips of those who know it. The gift of happiness is elusive, but tangible. You cannot seek to find that which makes you happy for happiness comes from within and by your own choice.
- Dale Reddish, Maryland, USA

Happiness to me is seeing the smiles on my children’s faces and knowing that I am the one who put them there.
- Chalet Harris, Pennsylvania, USA

So how do you define happiness?

Essential to improving your test scores is making your study time active. Many of us approach studying in a passive way-we just absorb facts and theories like a sponge. We may think that because we have read the textbook, heard the lecture, and taken notes, we’re all set. This postings is about your investment in a more active role in your study process. Let’s get to it.

Some examples of active studying include:

researching your tests

setting your goals

creating and implementing a study plan

asking questions

exploiting resources

brainstorming additional ideas and connections organizing your notes

mastering your study environment

Consider yourself an active student at the start of each course and each class period. It will take some practice, but you can do it. And how do you implement active studying? Start with the right attitude!

Hey, it may seem corny, but it’s empowering to have a good attitude. What do you think of these examples of positive attitude?

Mae acknowledges that to be a veterinarian when she’s an adult, she will have to work hard now, especially around exam times. Mae accepts a commitment to hard work.

Teddy pretends he’s a super academic athlete, shifting into active test-training mode when a test is coming up. Teddy uses an image that will help him enjoy his studies more.

Phil gladly helps Tera with her French, and Tera knows how to explain their ecology assignments in ways that Phil can understand. Phil believes that “what goes around, comes around,” so he gets satisfaction from helping others.

Candy takes advantage of a variety of learning opportunities: She reads the extra assignment, looks for resources online, watches PBS, and asks questions in class. Candy is enthusiastic and curious.

Noi considers how to apply what she has learned in books and in class to her life. Noi extends her knowledge to other applications.

Drew hates making mistakes but tries to learn from them, make the best of things, and accept that taking risks may involve failure. Drew can turn lemons into lemonade.

It seems nowadays universities are giving more emphasis on the written assignments. Thus, students often feel overwhelmed by the so many papers they have to write for each lecture. But we know that essays, dissertation and coursework can effectively help students to better understand the subjects. The ability to write assignments is proven to be a competitive advantage for this will enable students to get higher marks as well as good jobs after graduation.

As I have mention above, written assignment can help you understand the subject better. This must be begin with clear understanding on the assignment itself. Students must analyze the topic word by word to comprehend the scope and desired requirements. Students might need to underline some key words and see how they relate to the lectures or reading references.

After doing that, students must find and organize information need from many different sources. To do this, students can start from the highlighted key points and notes from the previous step. The thing students should worry about in this phase is about how the information can string together and make a cohesive flow. The ability to relate and solidify information is a must. At this point, it is advisable for students to make an outline format based on her thoughts.

Right after that, students should make a quick draft all the way through without worrying too much about the introduction and conclusion. The focus for now is to get the ideas on paper, act as if they talked to a friend. Students must know that they will always have time to review and rewrite.

Yet, many students still experiencing difficulties. More and more students are seeking professional writing service to help them deliver a quality essay. This is OK and even advisable to shorten the learning curve. Because reading the already made essay (based on students’ custom assignment) are proven to be an effective way to help student learn how to organize and present the information. The important thing students must consider when they buy essay and dissertation is that it must not be used as an excuse to stop learning. Written assignments are designed to help student understand the topic better to begin with. It will also help students to think and expressing ideas better. So students must still do their part even if the use help from the professionals.

There are numerous precedents for example in the Encyclopaedia Britannica saying that many psychoactive substances have historically been associated with creativity. The ancient Persians drank wine to make choices, but the process consisted of two parts: the night getting drunk and throwing ideas; and the next day is selecting those that seemed appropriate.

The Romans made decisions using a methodology similar to De Bono by making classification of instructions or commands that were positive and negative, and the choose which one were interesting and should be strengthened. In the Renaissance many artists used similar tools like SCAMPER to modify or improve their sculptures synthesis and composition of his paintings.

We can even found the signs of creativity and innovation in the large number of illiterate people in medieval times, that is the use of banners and posters with graphics to indicate canteens, hotels and offices collecting taxes.

Theodore Levitt on creativity and innovation says: Creativity is thinking new things. Innovation is doing new things.

Ideas are useless unless they are used. The proof of its value is in the implementation. The creative process and innovation are closely related to the decision making process. In general, we might say that creativity is more important in the early stages, when the difference is most needed. Then when we go into action, creativity becomes innovation, this is becoming part of the implementation.

Individuals in organizations are creative and innovative individuals, but sometimes are not the same person. There are innovative ideas that are taken from others and then take them to practice. The individual innovation is based on the theory that the change is normal and healthy. We do not see it as a threat, as an enemy against which we have to fight. Adopting the innovation implies a continuous and systematic search of the change order to adjust strategies and plans to the new reality.

Understanding the closures and the process of generating ideas lead directly to consideration of the techniques of creativity. Meet the creative process and this techniques will allow us to develop a part of our potential to result in creative proposals. A process of creative problem solving actually holds two processes, a process of generating ideas and decision-making process.

Principle 1: A new idea is a combination of old ideas.
Principle 2: The ability to recover old ideas for new combinations depends largely on data that we have in the memory and the ability to see relationships.

Now lets look at the steps of creative process:

Step 1: Collecting data. This step is mainly associated with the left side of the brain and includes: Search for specific information related to the subjects and objects involved in the problem and be informed about data and facts that seem indecipherable or a priori not related to the problem

Step 2: Analysis and síntesis.-use alternative on the left and right brain, comprising Chewing information. Consider, review, collecting, separating, reversing, so that there is no angle from which it has not displayed. Requires sequential processes, not sequential, individual and group. Then successively develop and synthesize the information as a dialectical process.

Step 3: Pause and momentary abandonment of the topic. This requires the process to stay on the left side of the brain to pass to the right and make the theme of the work plan to the unconscious.

Step 4: Lighting or experience the discovery and development of ideas. Usually occurs at times where the activity is necessarily concentrated on the right side of the brain.

Step 5: Action or the idea down to the real world and here we go into innovation.Generally requires several steps prior to implementation.
1. Many are lost through neglect and lack of registration.
2. Submit the idea to others. While it can operate as a lock (excessive negative criticism), often reinforces or originate new ideas.

The growth of creativity in a group or organization is achieved by increasing the potential for improving individual creativity and group processes to generate ideas. However, we should be aware that being creative is not necessarily mean being innovative. Applied Innovation is creativity. To be creative and innovative we need to go beyond the creative process and techniques. The innovation is directly related to the implementation and the Market.

Over the past 5 years we get more requests and questions on “Emotional Intelligence” as it relates to organizational development, what to do with them in the company, its advantages and disadvantages, risks that have been taking, and particularly in implementing the most beneficial way for the organization.

But what is “Emotional Intelligence” (EI) according to Daniel Goleman? Is there really a limit to the application of the “Cognitive Intelligence”? According to the perspective of Daniel Goleman “A vision of human nature that ignores the power of emotions is sadly shortsighted.

The name of Homo Sapiens, the species of thinking, is misleading in the light of the new assessment and vision offered by the science regarding the place of emotions in our lives.

As we all know from experience when it comes to shaping our decisions and our actions, feelings are so much as thought, and often more. We have come a long way when it comes to highlighting the value and significance of the purely rational - which measures the IQ - in human life. For better or for worse, intelligence can not be less important when emotions dominate.

Entrepreneurs with whom we have linked to us say that “it seems very difficult to put into practice what Goleman suggests. That is why we suggest a different definition of EI to say then that “Emotional Intelligence is the ability to feel - perceive, understand, modify and control the emotions themselves as outsiders.” And here is where it begins to glimpse the enormous benefits of implementing the concepts and ideas of emotional intelligence.

If we can come to learn about the feelings of our customers and suppliers, and also those that handle our products and services (ie staff) and we can come to understand, control and modify these emotions as well as ours as entrepreneurs, we could say that our company then left to run the risks of any business and we could begin to operate as do the vast majority of banks: with a risk rate is almost zero.

How many entrepreneurs have had warning signs to which we have not paid attention in the case of a bullet where there is always one who prefers to eat an extra piece of grass to finish the gazelle is being devoured by a lion ?

How many times do we as employers have handled our impulses to our actions then we are in situations detrimental to our body or where we are vulnerable to others?

Hence, Socrates stated that “The passions and the vagaries of the desires lead us to a life without meaning.”

Far from being free and powerful as entrepreneurs, then we are slaves and dependents. Intelligent, therefore, is the free man, which is governed and only he, therefore, can rule on others. True freedom is the result of educating people and making them smart in their own self.

In general, those who are not entrepreneurs like you, and have plenty of free time to broadcast signals, can live without working as much as you, adversely affecting their lives, taking resources from your company and of course harming their health.

Wukmir As I said, “emotions are always real, but may not be accurate” and that “the important thing (to survive as an entrepreneur) is that the emotions are true.” The mechanism of the emotions can easily understand if we imagine that a boat that is governed by an autopilot guided by a compass that points the way at every moment that we will follow.

This subjective testing type often causes more stress for students because the distinction between a right and wrong answer is not always as clear as in objective testing. Also, in the subjective test, students may be asked to expand their thoughts beyond the facts that were taught in class, and they may be expected to form their own opinions and then provide the statistics or facts to support them. Subjective tests are almost always graded by people, not machines, which means that human opinion enters into determining how right or wrong a response is.

So, what is subjective testing? Subjective exams may call for responses ranging from a paragraph to several pages in length, depending on what type of question is involved. Subjective testing evaluates not only how well a student has memorized and can recall facts and theories but often also requires that the student take the information that was learned in the classroom and expand on it. By using this form of test, the educator can assess not only how well students have learned facts but also how well they have learned theory.

The questions on a subjective test usually encourage the student to utilize a variety of skills, from critical thinking to creativity, from proper spelling to proper sentence structure. The student will often need to take pieces of information that were learned and meld them into a coherent and convincing answer. Because the student is asked to formulate an answer this way, the subjective test can be a bit more difficult to study for.

The three students in the opening vignette provide a perfect example of the scoring process behind subjective tests. Although all three of the students thought that they had done suitable work, each was able to point out the areas where the others were lacking or where they could improve. Of course, all of the feedback provided was opinion based on a set of criteria, but many of the opinions are likely to be shared by the person scoring the AP test.
