Sooooo, MAC recently launched there a Holiday 2012 collections and I must say they are super cute!

I picked up this Fabulousness Warm Eyes palette that includes 5 shimmer eyeshadows and a tiny (useless in my opinion brush). They come packed in these cute little compacts which is an added bonus.

The colors are pigmented, nice color range, but nothing special. I mean if your looking for a great gift for a friend then yes they are great, but if your a makeup artist like myself and are looking for some new fun colors to add to your kit you might feel let down.

It's the time of year where we need to combat dry hands!

I don't know about you, but my hands have been extra ashy! Has fall even officially

begun? What ever the case, I have been on the hunt for some good old hand cream.

On my search I came across tons of smells, some good some.... Let's just say I'm not sure what the hell they we're smelling that day. A lot of pretty packaging and not many good product.

Call me greedy but I want it all! Great smell, cute bottle, and ash-kicking cream. That's when I found Hand Therapy by Cabtree & Evelyn, this stuff is fabulous! It smells great and comes in super cute packaging. The cost for this bad boy is a bit steep at $26.00 but if you want to spend a little extra on cream that is concentrated with emollients and oils that nourish and absorb into your skin leaving it feeling baby soft for longer then the cheaper brands, then this is the best bang for your buck.

So lets get down to the bizzznizzz. Hair! Its almost fall, and will that comes cool weather that is drying to the hair. Enter Kerasilk Instant Silk Fluid by Goldwell. This stuff is GREAT, its made for all hair types and textures, instantly smooths and reconstructs your hair. Its super light weight and I find my hair just drinks it up. My hair is left manageable, silky, not heavy like other oils and conditioning products sometimes do and just overall healthier looking.

I bought this product for $20 at a salon in Toronto, and instantly fell in love with it. I will definitely be buying this again.

Here's a quick tip that will help keep your brushes in great shape for years to come!

Makeup brushes are 5star hotels for pathogenic bacteria! That's why it's very important to give your brushes a deep clean at least once a week and after every client for professional MUAs. After your brushes have been washed MAKE SURE you re-shape your brushes so that the bristles are not flared out. Basically re-shape them into their original shape you bought them in. Also, when drying your brushes make sure you dry them on a flat surface on their side, off an edge for big fluffy brushes. This will make sure the excess water drips off your brushes and not go down into the Handle or flute of your makeup brushes. If you allow your brushes to dry standing up, over time water will begin to break down the glue that holds your brushes to the handle and even worse the glue that holds the bristles together! Not a good look people, especially if your buying one brush for $45.

I Love Shellac Nails...

Soooooo have you heard about the 14 day manicure?! Ya, you read right- 14 days!

Shellac nails are gel based nail polishes that leave your nails perfectly manicured and chip resistant for up to 14 days. They come in a wide variety of colors and brands.

My experience with shellac nails has been a good one. I do enjoy not having to do my nails every three days. The only up keep I do on my own (not a must, but I am a nail freak & every nail needs to appear perfectly polished or I will have a conniption!) I do keep up new growth by painting over my shellac and the new growth with nail polish in the same color when needed. I find doing this also allows my manicure to last longer :).

Shellac nails are a great option for those who like perfectly manicured nails all the time but dont necessarily have the time for upkeep traditional manicures require (new mommys, this is a great manicure for you!) or for those who avoid polishes because of chipping.

So I found my summer nail color! MAC Play Day nail lacquer is simply gorgeous! This peachy orange color looks great on all skin tones and is defiantly eye catching. MAC nail lacquers are high gloss formulas, so a top coat is not needed and provide no-streak/no-chip finish. They also contain conditioners and UV protection! Talk about hi-tech lacquer.

Sephora Moonshadow Baked Palette...

On a recent trip to my local Sephora I was introduced to their Moonshadow Baked Palette. These palettes come in two color themes: In The Nude and In The Dark. Both palettes come with 10 baked eye shadows that can be used wet or dry. I love these shadows and believe Sephora did a great job with them and the price point of $28 is well worth it. These shadows are highly pigmented, have minimal fall out, and both palettes come in great color selections for both natural and dramatic makeup looks. This palette is a great alternative to those who don't want to pay $50 dollars for Urban Decays Naked Palette. Give these shadows a try and let us know what your think!

We Heart Illamasqua!!...

A while back I remember coming across an image of a woman with her face beat (translation: makeup was flawless) In this image the artist used what appeared to be a skin tone shimmer eye shadow, the shadow looked phenomenal. The shadow was ORB by ILLAMASQUA, a London based company that till recently only had international shipping on their website but did not stores overseas. While on vacation in New York I went to sephora and was delighted to see Illamasqua's products in the stores window display. I grabbed their loose pigment in Orb and am happy to report it looked exactly on my skin tone (which was much different then the woman's in the image) as it did in the image I saw. This These cosmetics are great, they come in tons of wonderful colors, highly pigmented and come in sizable containers; a little definitely does go a long way. Unfortunately for Canadian residence(like myself) Illamasqua is not available in Canada, but you can definitely order products on their website www.illamasqua.com.
