This means finding out what the Word has to say for ourselves through our personal study time, along with asking the Holy Spirit to illuminate the Scriptures to us. It also means making sure we are receiving sound, Bible-based teaching that does not add or take away from the Scriptures. In these last days, deception about the Word is abounding; and there are individuals in ministry who are preaching and teaching, but what they are sharing with their congregations does not line up with the Word of God.

Receiving proper teaching from the Bible from someone who is a seasoned, proven, man or woman of God with the character to back up their calling, is essential to staying on the right path as a Christian. Otherwise, you run the risk of being led in a direction that contradicts the Word of God. This is especially true since we are living in a time when emotionalism and intellectualism are on the rise.

The Word talks about being aware of and protecting ourselves from deceptive ideas, teachings, and beliefs that contradict the pure, unadulterated Word of God. Colossians 2:8 in the Amplified Bible says this:

See to it that no one carries you off as spoil or makes you yourselves captive by his so-called philosophy and intellectualism and vain deceit (idle fancies and plain nonsense), following human tradition (men’s ideas of the material rather than the spiritual world), just crude notions following the rudimentary and elemental teachings of the universe and disregarding [the teachings of] Christ (the Messiah). Go Here to read more...

Feel free to subscribe and leave a comment. Napoleon Hill, author of the best—selling book, Think and Grow Rich, said "The starting point of all achievement is desire. Keep this constantly in mind. Weak desires bring weak results, just as a small amount of fire makes a small amount of heat." Even when we talk to God about our problems, we must have a true desire to see manifestation. The Bible says, "…What things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them" (Mark 11:24).

In John, Chapter 5, the Bible gives an illustration of how important it is to have a desire to change our circumstances. There was a pool in Jerusalem, called Bethesda, and an angel would visit this pool during a certain season and trouble the water. Whoever stepped into the bubbling water was healed of whatever illness or infirmity he or she had. Many people flocked by the multitudes to this pool to be healed. Some of them were blind, impotent and crippled. These people would wait desperately by the pool for the angel to trouble the water; however, not everyone received their healing. It was their desire to be healed that made the difference.

John 5:5, in The Amplified Bible says, "There was a certain man there who had suffered with a deep—seated and lingering disorder for thirty—eight years." Thirty–eight years is a long time to deal with a deep–seated and lingering disorder. It would be easy to take pity on the man. However, Jesus approached the situation differently. Having real compassion on the man, Jesus didn't have a pity party with him but instead asked, "…Do you want to become well? [Are you really in earnest about getting well?] (John 5:6, The Amplified Bible).

What is the deep—seated and lingering disorder in your life? Is it a healing issue? Is it a habit from which you need deliverance? No matter what area of your life is affected by trouble, you must ask yourself today, "Do I really want to get rid of this? Do I really want to be set free from this problem that has haunted me for so long?" Just picture yourself at that pool. What would you say if Jesus asked you, "Do you really want to become well?" In John 5:7, the man replied that there was no one to put him into the pool when the water was troubled. Jesus told the man to get up, pick up his bed and walk. This man instantly became well and his strength was recovered when he took initiative and stepped out on his desire to change his situation.

Understand that excuses won't get you anywhere. When you make excuses, you postpone your deliverance. Many times, you have to encourage and motivate yourself. You have to stir those desires in your heart and say to the Lord, "Yes, I really want it!" rather than make excuses.

Feel free to leave a comment. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Fear is the substance of things not hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen. You see, faith and fear operate by the same spiritual laws. One is the reciprocal, or opposite, of the other.

To better understand faith and fear, you must comprehend the platforms from which these forces operate. Everything in the Kingdom of God operates by love, and since faith works by love, it is love that forms a foundation for faith. On the other hand, the world system operates by selfishness. Therefore, fear can only stand on a platform of selfishness.

To get rid of fear, you must first address any areas of selfishness in your life. Even a fear of heights or of danger is tied to selfishness. When you are afraid for your safety, it is as if a switch in your spirit is turned on that signals a self-preservation mechanism. When you are concerned with preserving yourself, you have essentially crowned yourself god and rejected the divine protection of God. When this type of fear is in place, you actually connect yourself to the very thing you fear.

Understand there is no such thing as a “little” fear being okay. God puts those who are fearful in the same category as liars, murderers, and whoremongers! To be a Believer and harbor fear in your life is a slap in God’s face. He has given you direct access to every spiritual blessing in Heaven—from finances to protection. You have nothing to fear!

Be Blessed! Worry is a form of fear that will subtly find its way into your mind, will, and emotions, causing you to make decisions that are not faith-based. When your mind is constantly bombarded with concerns, cares, and fear-based thoughts, your faith is paralyzed and you put yourself in a position to see the things you don’t want to happen to come to pass. It is time for a complete overhaul in this area of our thinking, particularly in the times in which we live. Just like faith comes by hearing the Word of God, worry comes by hearing and receiving words that contradict the Word. It is not God’s will for you to worry about anything.

Second Timothy 1:7 lets us know fear is a spirit that does not come from God. Therefore, any form of fear, including worry, is unnatural and should not be tolerated on any level. Allowing fearful and anxious thoughts to take up residence in your mind opens the door for that spirit to invade every area of your life. Often, what starts out as a small concern can balloon into a full-blown fear that you never had before. Keep in mind fear has a sibling called torment. This is why fear is connected with a nagging sense of unrest. Fearful people worry and generally find very little peace. This is a clear sign of the enemy’s torment.

You may have a million things on your plate, from managing your finances and resources, to situations on the job, but Jesus said not to worry about any of them: Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?...Take therefore not thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof” (Matthew 6:25-34).

According to Jesus, there is no increase that comes from worry. In other words, it has absolutely no benefit in your life, will it change the situation. The only guarantee is negative results. The principle of meditation is, whatever you meditate on will take root in your heart and those dominant thoughts will eventually come to pass. When you worry, you are essentially supporting Satan’s plans for your life and allowing him entry.

You may be wondering how you can stop worrying once and for all. The answer is simple; first, begin filling your mind and heart with the Word of God. Second, meditate on positive things and favorable outcomes rather than negative things that may not happen. Focus on God’s love for you and trust in the covenant of peace, protection, and wholeness He has made with you. The Word alone is what will give you confidence in God’s love, ability, and provision in your life.

As Believers, we have authority over fear. When troublesome thoughts come, open your mouth and declare the Word of God with boldness. Give the devil something to worry about by showing him his fear tactics are no longer effective in your life!

DOING IT BY THE BOOK

You can’t dabble in the Word and expect to get results. It’s your evidence to everything you need.

Be blessed!

Sit Down!

After Jesus and the Disciples had taken an inventory of what they had, Jesus said, “Make the people sit down!” Right there, in the tenth verse (John 6:10), we see the 5,000 hungry men. If the offering wasn’t organized, if the bread had just been thrown out to them, then the strong men would’ve elbowed out the weak men, women, and children and would have eaten up all the fish and the bread.

In sitting down, you have a chance to logically arrange your priorities. I think that’s what Jesus meant in John 6:10 when he said “Have the people sit down.” All this fussing and fighting, mumbling and grumbling- sit down! All this back stabbing and backbiting—sit down! All this finger pointing and he-said, she-said, you-said, they-said—sit down! If you’re depressed, get your evidence of deliverance.

No matter how hard it gets or how grim your circumstances appear, regardless of what the doctors, bankers, or neighbors say-hold on to that title deed the Word of God. Then the fear, the thing we dread, seems to be in total command of us. Our lives feel ruined and out of control. But we don’t have to be afraid. Fear is an emotion, and emotions are ours to control; the emotion does not control us, we are in charge of the emotion. The best way to work with fear is to get a better understanding of God’s word, a better understanding of who we are in relationship to God, and to work with the Divine plan for our betterment.

Fear Is Man-Made, Not God-Given

What we need to become convinced of is the words in 2 Timothy 1:7: “God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and or sound mind.” I take this to mean that we cannot overcome fear with human power, but by the Spirit of the living God that is within us. That what most of us don’t realize. When we call forth the power of this living Spirit within us, we don’t have to be fearful. To condition your mind to seek the Truth and to focus your thoughts on your highest good and to learn the word God for yourself.

Be Blessed!
Corinne’s Fashion World

WHY GO TO CHURCH

Did you know Jesus attended church? This is something we do not hear about often, but it is true. If we want to follow and imitate Jesus, then we must follow His example; Jesus made it a custom to attend temple services. Once, when He had wandered away from His parents as a child, He was later found in the temple. When Mary and Joseph finally located Him, His explanation for His disappearance was, "… How is it that you had to look for me? Did you not see and know that it is necessary [as a duty] for Me to be in My Father's house and [occupied] about My Father's business?" (Luke 2:49, AMP) As an adult, if you were looking for Jesus, one place you would definitely find Him was teaching in the synagogue.

In everything God tells us to do, we have a choice whether to obey Him or not. Hebrews 10:25 says, "Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another…" (AMP). He has commanded through His Word that we should gather together with other Believers in a corporate setting.

Notice God said some forsake this practice. This simply means they ignore it and turn away from it. Why does God take this so seriously? Because gathering together with other Believers in church allows us to connect with others to receive strength and encouragement. When we come to church, we learn how to apply the Word of God to our lives to overcome the things we go through. We receive the wisdom we need to live victoriously in our everyday lives.
If you are a Christian, you are part of the Body of Christ. Give honor to God by obeying His Word with a willing and obedient heart. Consider the wonderful things God has done for you! Come into His presence in a corporate setting to give Him thanks and to encourage a brother or sister in Christ. You can help change someone's life forever by inspiring them to make Jesus their Lord and Savior. Allow your enthusiasm for the kingdom of God to overflow into the lives of others.

God wants you to desire His presence and have joy when you are in His house of worship. Follow the example of this ardent psalmist, who with a fervent heart toward God proclaimed, "How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of host! My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and flesh crieth out for the living God …O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God. Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah" (Psalm 84:1—4).

Be Blessed!
Dea. When His disciples asked Him to teach them how to pray, Jesus responded by giving them a model payer to serve as the framework on which a life of prayer. This model prayer has come to be know as the “The Lord Prayer’, and it’s is used in many churches today as a regular part of Sunday morning services. This model prayer of Jesus, however, is so much more than a ritual form to be repeated on Sunday mornings; rather, it is a practical outline of prayer’s essential components presented by our Lord to lead us into a meaningful relationship with the Father from whom all blessings flow.

The Lord’s Prayer is such an outline, presented by Jesus to show us how to pray effectively. As we learn to build our prayers on the framework provided by this model prayer, we discover exciting principles that have the potential to revolutionize the way we pray and the way we get answers to our prayers.

And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray as John also taught his disciples. Luke 11:1

And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And led us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. (Matt. 6:9-13)

Be blessed!
Corinne

Rev. Timothy Wright Interview

Rev. Timothy Wright Speaks

Sunday, October 12th, Rev. Timothy Wright made his greatest public appearance since a tragic July 4th car accident that claimed the life of his grandson and wife, and left his body broken and paralyzed from the chest down. At the Circle of Sisters Expo sponsored by WLIB, his hometown New York radio station, Rev. Wright expressed his gratitude and gave his testimony to 3,000 people packed into the concert hall of the Javits Convention Center. As the crowd hushed to listen attentively, he spoke slower than classic Timothy Wright, but it was clear and powerful, ending with his declaration, "The next time you see me, I'm gonna be walking. God bless you.
"
The once silent crowd erupted in praise and applause as they wiped tears and snapped pictures. After addressing his New York family, Rev. Wright joined WLIB Program Director, Midday Personality, Denise Hill, at a live broadcast for his first radio interview since the accident.

DH: You have always been an inspiration to us through your music and you said God recently gave you a new song. And so, even in whatever state the enemy thinks he may have you in, God's giving you new songs that will not only bless and bring you through but continue to bless others. Tell us about this newest song God gave you.

TW: Well, I was in the hospital and I was kind of feeling sorry for myself, but then the Spirit spoke to me and said, "I'm still here...for a reason." So, after all is said an done, after all the troubles and trial, after all the tears, I'm still here for a reason.

DH: I think the latter of that is the part a lot of people leave out. "I'm still here" and they kind of get stuck there. But its for a reason. So you can't just sit on the testimony that I made it through. You have to get through and go forth....

TW: Absolutely.

DH: ...and now be productive in the earth.
Other than music and the songs God's giving you, what do you see God doing through you in the future?

TW: Well, I see the Lord showing me how to share with people that no matter what you lose, no matter what you go through, God is always there right by your side. Friends may leave you, loved ones may leave you, but the Lord is always there.

DH: "Whose on the Lord's Side," "Trouble Don't Last Always"...which one of the older songs that He's birthed through you have been a blessing during this time?

TW: I Know Somehow, I know some way, we're gonna make it. That's been taking me through.

DH:0Ah yes, with Myrna Summers. That is a phenomenal song. Your book...Whose Really on the Lord's Side...I'm expecting, through all of this, there will be a volume 2 as well?

TW: Absolutely.

DH: Has He given you a title yet?

TW: I don't know. I don't know just yet.

DH: Many of us have dates, hours, minutes in our life that we can look back and that was the moment things changed. That was the day life was not the same. That was the time I was in a place of uncertainty and did not know where I was going to go from here. July the 4th was one of those days for you.

TW: Um hmm.

DH: DJ was a phenomenal grandson to you, growing, learning...tell us about DJ.

TW: DJ was my first grandson and he was 14 years old and when we went to Detroit, that was the first time that I allowed him and his parents allowed him to go on the road with me and he was so happy to be with his grand dad. And, ah... that's all I remember.

DH: And that is enough. You can leave a legacy at any age and that is the legacy he left and that we honor. And your wife, the author of Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, your rock for so many years in business=2 0and in the pulpit.
For those who were not fortunate enough to know Co-Pastor Betty Wright, what legacy do we need to honor concerning her?

TW: She was somebody special. She was my rock. I could lean on her and depend on her and I didn't lose her...because I know where she is now. I am thankful God is sustaining me through all the trials.

DH: Talk about some of the people who have been there from the beginning. Bishop Albert Jamison, Hezekiah Walker, Donnie McClurkin...

TW: Bishop Jamison has been so supportive. He has been right there for me. Pastor Hezekiah and Pastor McClurkin, and all the pastors here and around the country has been so supportive with their prayers and their finances and I am truly grateful. Truly, truly grateful.

DH: Say something to your WLIB family who loves you so much.

TW: To you sis Denise, I thank you for all that you've done and all that the radio station has done and I want you to know that I am very grateful. I want you to know that I am very grateful for everything that has been done for me. Continue to pray for me. Continue to hold me up in prayer.

DH: If you had to preach this morning what would you have preached?

TW: I'm still here for a reason.

At the end of the radio interview, Rev. Wright greeted fans and well wisher for an hour before returning to the Kessler Rehabilitation Center where he continues to progress.
Denise Hill can be heard Monday through Friday on 1190 WLIB and http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LldMSUIuY29t.
Her newly published book INSIDE: What No One Is Telling the Independent Gospel Artist can be purchased at http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LkRlbmlzZUhpbGwuY29t.

<link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/WhyGoToChurch/~3/a9ace6gaNUU/rev-timothy-wright-interview.html" title="Rev.
