Evgeniy, better known as Jay Budman or MC No Limit is one step away from becoming a new major urban music artist. The 24 year-old is busy recording his debut album, producing music, performing in The Ministry of Sound and writing a dissertation for his final year at the University of East London, a place where Tinchy Stryder was doing the same things a few years ago. But he finds some time to show me the university sound facilities he is using to create his music and have a talk about what’s going on down there.

decide what do you want to study and which university do you want to attend. you can use this and this university rankings as reference, there you can browse unis by subject and location as well as easily access full institution's profile or website where you can find more information about the courses that you are interested in (course program, entry requirements etc).

HOW TO AVOID STREET FUNDRAISERS?

first of all, i don't want to sound like an *hole and convert people to anti-charity thinking and all the stuff like that, they all are doing a great job for the good cause, but... sometimes those street fundraisers are soo annoying! i used to work as a fundraiser for a few weeks, and was terrified when found out that most of the people working there don't even know what are they signing people up for! some of them don't care about helping poor, or treating diseases or anything except of how much commission are they going to get. shocking!.

so when these people are coming up to you and are asking to spare a minute to help someone (they actually mean 10-15 minutes to sign you up for a monthly donation) you don't want to be rude and kill this nice and caring, always fake-smiling person's confidence. this is why i am giving you some of the phrases to nicely avoid fundraisers:

HOW TO FIND A PLACE IN LONDON?

there are so many houses, rooms and student accommodation available for rent in london. however finding a right one could be a very time-consuming and stressful experience. there are plenty of things to consider, such as location and affordability, and even when you found the right combination of the two, the condition of the place may not be as good as it was described in the ad, or it may get taken buy another person even before you managed to arrange a viewing.. very disappointing!

a step-by-step guide to getting a new home

find the area that is suitabe for you
london is such a big city and i am shure you don't want to spend hours and hours on the public transport every day. this is why it is important to make sure that your new home is not located too far from your key points of interests, such as work, uni, or your mates place.
and, of course, it could have been just as easy as that if there was no financial question involved. as a general rule - the closer to the centre, the more expensive the house will be. If you, however want to live somewhere not farther than zone 2-3 and your pocket is not infinite, you are most likely to settle in some of the worst areas in east or south london. more information on the average pricing of your area of interest can be found here.

LONDON IS UGLY BUT BEAUTIFUL! DO YOU WANT TO LIVE HERE?

moving to london could be life-сhanging. whether you want to come here in the seek of employment, or to start your own business, to get a higher education, or just to meet new people and have some fun, you have to think thoroughly before making your final decision. this city has plenty to offer to everyone, but there are always two sides to every story. i will help to break it down for you and consider all the possible for and against that you may need to think about.

DON'T COME if:

you just can't stand big cities
if you don't want to see this when you go shopping, and this when you are late for work, spend hours on the public transport, can't live without clean not polluted air, silence and nature, and when you look up you want to see this and not THIS, then you will find a couple of things to complain about living in london...
there are almost 14 million living in the city's metropolitan area, with the density of population 44 times higher than the european average. it is the biggest city in the EU. so if you are coming from a small town you may find yourself lost in this crowded madness.
