Esta semana en Instagram les comentaba sobre la más reciente edición de DafitiMag. Aunque ya había leído la edición en línea la verdad es que no hay como tenerla en las manos y hojearla una y otra vez.

Me quedé muy sorprendida sobre la calidad de los contenidos, sobre todo de las editoriales ya que tienen propuestas muy interesantes y un plus para mi fue que todo (TODO!!) el vestuario y accesorios está disponible para comprar en el sitio de Dafiti. Asimismo, las propuestas que encontrarán son para hombres y mujeres por lo que es una fuente de inspiración para outfits del día a día pero también para comprar regalos o anticipar tus compras para la siguiente temporada.

Esta edición cuenta con la producción fotográfica del renombrado Álvaro Nates, con una tirada de más de 20 mil ejemplares que podrán encontrar en distintos tiendas, cafés y en la próxima edición del MBFW México.

It's been freezing in my city and I've been obsessing about finding new ways to wear my combat boots: from mixing girly dresses with tights, inside my jeans and tucking them on the boots, to hiding them in maxi skirts. I don't know why Berlin always comes to my mind when I think about combat boots and when looking for inspiration the new edition of Dafiti Mag gave me tons of ideas, just look at the third pic of this post, totally loved it!!!! Although I'm still debating in my head about the "age appropriate" issue, I thought I should share it with you girls ;) For more awesome pics go to the Dafiti website to find metallic looks and more.

Ha estado helando en mi ciudad y he ahí mi obsesión por usar mis botas "combat" lo más seguido posible en todas las combinaciones imaginables: con vestidos femeninos y medias gruesas, dentro y fuera de los jeans o escondidas debajo de una maxi-falda. No sé por qué siempre pienso en Berlín cuando habló de botas y al estar buscando inspiración para usarlas me topé con la nueva edición de Dafiti Mag y encontré excelentes ideas para usarlas, solamente vean la última foto de este post!!!! Aunque sigo con mi debate mental de qué es apropiado o no para mi edad pensé en compartir con ustedes esta fuente de inspiración ;) Para más fotos vayan al sitio de Dafiti donde también hay unos looks en colores metálicos que valen mucho la pena.

I just turned 30 years old and that made me think about the importance of "aging gracefully". Nobody wants to look like they got stuck in the past and certainly I am terrified by the idea of dressing "not according to my age". With the aim of finding a more mature and sophisticated version of myself I discovered the brand Dorothy Perkins and I must say I really like their shapes and design, it kind of reminds me the glamour of Mad Men. Lucky for me it is now available in Mexico! So now my question is, do you or have you find yourself reflecting of your style because of your age??? Please say yes and don't make me sound like a grandma!!! Lol!

Hace poco cumplí 30 años y eso me hizo reflexionar sobre la importancia de "envejecer con gracia". A nadie le gusta sentir como que nos quedamos atrapados en el pasado y a mi sin duda me aterroriza pensar que no me visto de acuerdo a mi edad... no me quiero vestir como abuelita pero tampoco como quinceañera.... A fin de encontrar una versión más madura y sofisticada de "mi misma" encontré la marca Dorothy Perkins y realmente quede encantada con su diseño y cortes, me recuerda un poco el glamour de Mad Men. Gracias a Dios ahora está disponible en México para comprar en línea. Ahora, le pregunta importante es ¿les pasó o les ha pasado que se fijan en su estilo debido a su edad? Hi! My name is Patti and I can't stop buying sweaters.... A while ago I told you about this article on how we wear "uniforms", meaning that we tend to use the same clothes because they suit our style, body, etc, etc... The other day I realized how many sweaters I own and it is crazy! but i can't stop! I came to the conclusion that my uniform or basics when getting dressed would be a sweater mixed with jeans (skinny, boyfriend, doesn't matter), flat shoes and a scarf. This can change to a skirt in stead of the jeans, or boots or heels instead of the flats, a trench or jacket and so on... This pic is just a sample of it...

Now, I came up with the idea to use a hashtag so all of us can show our uniforms! What do you think? If you want to share them on Instagram, let's use the #theuniform and I'll share them in the Facebook page of the blog.. Let confession time begin ladies!

Hola! Mi nombre es Patti y no puedo dejar de comprar sweaters... Hace algún tiempo les conté sobre este artículo sobre como sin querer usamos "uniformes" o ropa que va con nuestro estilo o queda bien con nuestro tipo de cuerpo. El otro día me dio pánico ver cuantos sweaters tengo!!! lo peor es que no puedo parar!!! Al final creo que mi uniforme sería un sweater, jeans (skinnies, boyfriendo, lo que sea), una bufanda y zapatos planos. El uniforme cambia a veces porque me pongo falda o vestido, o una trench o un saco, botas o zapatos altos pero la idea siempre es la misma y para muestra les dejó la foto del principio.

Se me ocurrió que todas podríamos compartir nuestros uniformes usando un hashtag en Instagram, ¿qué les parece? Al final podría compartir sus uniformes en la página de Facebook del Blog.. Si se animan pueden usar el hashtag #theuniform ¡Que comience la confesión!

After a long time of feeling exhausted and physically drained, finally I have been feeling in the mood and with the energy to go back to my beloved running routine. As a good girl I am always daydreaming about the perfect outfit :) The obvious place to look for activewear? Nike of course!!! Adam Lister's Pixalated Watercolor Paintings

I love art. And I know I have told you before that I love this, I love that, I love, I love, I love... But with art, my love goes to a whole different new level. Ever since I was in high school I have been obsessed with it, so much that in college I tried to point my career on that direction working for two important museums in the city of Monterrey in México. Right after graduating from college I applied for an internship in the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain, got accepted but oh bummer!!! for personal reasons I couldn't make it.

Truth is that my love for art and design keeps beating inside me and I every time I find talented artists like Adam Lister, I get really excited. An american native, Adam Lister depicts famous artworks ad pop-culture characters (can you recognize them in the pictures??). His work takes as guideline the use of pixelated images recreating old-school video graphics. I totally fell in love with them, what about you? Let me know in your comments!!!

Amo el arte. Y ya sé que les he dicho muchas veces que amo esto, amo el otro, amo, amo, amoo.. Pero con el arte, mi amor llega a un nivel totalmente diferente. Desde que estaba en la preparatorio me obsesioné con todo lo que fuera arte, tanto que, cuando estaba en la universidad, trabajé para dos importantes museos en la ciudad de Monterrey, México. Justo después de la universidad apliqué para una pasantía en el Museo Guggenheim de Bilbao, me aceptaron, pero bubububu!!! por razones personales no pude seguir con el proyecto.

La verdad es que mi amor por el arte y el diseño sigue latente y cada vez que encuentro artistas talentosos como Adam Lister, me emociono mucho. Nativo de los Estados Unidos, Adam Liptser representa famosas obras de arte y personajes de la cultura pop (las pueden reconocer en las fotos??) Su trabajo se basa en el uso de imágenes pixeladas, recreando los gráficos de los juegos de video del pasado. En cuanto vi su obra me enamoré, ¿a ustedes qué les parece? Me encantaría oír sus comentarios!!
