Can I Get Dish Network In My Apartment?

2011-04-23T03:14:00.000-07:00

Yes you can. FCC rules permit residents of rental property to install a satellite dish, but only in certain areas. Generally, FCC rules permit renters to install a dish only in areas that are subject to the renter's exclusive use and control. Generally, this means an area that you may use, but that is not available for the general use of all tenants. Such an area may include a balcony, patio, yard, deck or other area that only you have the right to use. If you have such an area, you may install a dish, just check with your landlord before proceeding

DISH Network Introduces Only Online Video Portal with Live TV Integration

2011-03-07T17:19:00.000-08:00

DISH Network today introduces DISHOnline.com, the only online video portal that integrates live and recorded TV with more than 150,000 popular movies, TV shows, clips and trailers into one easy-to-use interface.

Through DISHOnline.com, customers can watch their live TV, all of their DVR recordings, and instantly view thousands of movies, TV shows, clips and more from programmers such as Food Network, Discovery Channel, MTV, EPIX, Starz and Encore - all free with their paid subscription. Through a robust search engine, customers can browse for content by title, network, actor or genre.

For example, if a customer likes the TV show 30 Rock, he or she can search that title and pull up a range of instantly available video content related to the show, including episodes currently playing that can be watched live, past episodes, and special features and clips from the Web. DISHOnline.com will also list episodes recorded to the DVR, as well as upcoming episodes that customers can record with the click of a mouse. In addition, the search for 30 Rock will list actors on the show like Alec Baldwin. When the user clicks on his name, DISHOnline.com will display a page featuring all video content featuring Alec Baldwin, plus the ability to rent Alec Baldwin movies, such as It's Complicated.

"DISHOnline.com integrates DISH Network's expansive TV programming lineup with the vast amount of online video content, adding another dimension to our 'pay once, take your TV everywhere' product platform," said Dave Shull, senior vice president of Programming for DISH Network. "DISH Network is committed to offering an unrivaled experience that satisfies our customers' need to consume video in a variety of new and exciting ways."

DISHOnline.com is also open to non-DISH Network customers, who have access to thousands of free video selections available for instant streaming. Those with a DISH Network subscription can enjoy the enhanced features of DISHOnline.com by logging in with their existing DISH Network online account information. Live and recorded TV viewing is enabled for customers with a ViP 922 SlingLoaded DVR or the upcoming Sling Adapter

Compare Satellite TV Costs
Satellite TV is often lower cost than cable, has more options, and offers free installation. Cable can't do that. When you order through VMC Satellite you can get great deals on 100% digital channels, and free DISH equipment and installation in up to 6 rooms. If your equipment needs maintenance or repair, our preferred provider will send a professional installer to your home.
Free Satellite Dish Equipment
DISH Network gives you all the equipment you need to enjoy dish TV programming at no cost, plus a free digital video recorder (DVR).

A DVR allows the TV experience to be interactive. You can stop, pause or rewind live television. With cable, you need to pay an extra fee or purchase your own DVR.

Our Homeowners Association Forbids Satellite Dishes

2010-12-07T07:35:00.000-08:00

We would love to have you as a customer. Our dish antenna sizes are 18" or 20" and comply with the Satellite Consumer Bill of Rights, a regulation released by the FCC on August 6, 1996. This regulation PREEMPTS area zoning ordinances and Homeowner Association covenants and restrictions on DBS dish antennas. This rule was required by Congress in the 1996 Telecommunications Act. Some HOA'S have been fighting to keep restriction rights by threatening court action on tenants with dish antennas, in some cases arguing that a dish antenna is installed in a common area, calling the air space above the homeowners roof where the dish antenna is installed, the common area. Congress is on your side in this matter.
