लंबे समय से सातवें वेतन आयोग के एरियर का इंतजार कर रहे राज्य सेवा के 8 लाख से अधिक कर्मचारियों, अधिकारियों और पेंशनर्स को झटका लगा है। सातवें वेतन आयोग की सिफारिश का लाभ राज्य सरकार बैक डेट 1 जनवरी 2016 से देने की बजाय एक अक्टूबर 2017 से देने का निर्णय किया है। अब 21 माह का एरियर नहीं मिलेगा। ऐसे में सरकार सिर्फ अक्टूबर महीने के एरियर के साथ एक दिसंबर 2017 को नए वेतन का भुगतान करेगी। हालांकि कर्मचारियों को पांच फीसदी डीए का लाभ तुरंत प्रभाव से दिया जाएगा। अधिकतम 28 हजार रु. तक प्रति माह की बढ़ोत्तरी...

7वें वेतन आयोग की सिफारिश को लागू करने को लेकर सोमवार को वित्त विभाग की ओर से चार अलग-अलग अधिसूचनाएं जारी की गई। इस फैसले से कर्मचारियों के वेतन में अधिकतम 28 हजार रु. तक प्रति माह की बढ़ोत्तरी होगी। खास यह है कि अखिल भारतीय सेवा यानी राज्य के आईएएस, आईपीएस और आईएफएस को 7वां वेतनमान का लाभ देने के लिए आदेश जारी नहीं हो पाया। यदि सरकार एरियर या नोशनल बेनिफिट देती है तो अलग से सरकार को आदेश जारी करना होगा।

1900 ग्रेड पे वालों के वेतन से नहीं होगी कटौती

लगभग 60 हजार से अधिक कर्मचारियों के लिए अच्छी सूचना है। एक जुलाई 2013 से नियुक्ति पाने वाले 1900 ग्रेड पे वाले कर्मचारियों के वेतन में किसी प्रकार की कटौती नहीं की जाएगी। ऐसे कर्मचारियों के वेतन में एक जुलाई 2013 से 30 सितंबर 2017 के बीच 4756 रुपए का अंतर आ रहा है। सातवें वेतन आयोग की सिफारिश लागू होने के बाद बढ़े हुए वेतन में उस रकम को समायोजन कर दिया जाएगा। इसके बावजूद यदि एक हजार से 1200 रुपये के बीच में अंतर आएगा तो उसे पर्सनल पे के तौर पर सरकार भुगतान करेगी। भविष्य में इनका इंक्रीमेंट लगने पर उसमें समायोजन कर दिया जाएगा। साथ ही पूर्व में भुगतान किए गए रकम की भी सरकार रिकवरी नहीं करेगी। गहलोत सरकार ने इनको बढ़ा हुआ वेतनमान पहले ही दे दिया था, जिसे अब कम किया गया है।

सीसीए, एचआरए भी बढ़ जाएगा

जारी अधिसूचना के अनुसार कर्मचारियों, अधिकारियों को सीसीए और एचआरए भी बढ़ा हुआ मिलेगा। 23100 बेसिक पे पाने वाले कर्मचारियों के लिए सीसीए 600 रुपए मिलेगा। जबकि 23100 से अधिक बेसिक पे पाने वाले कर्मचारियों को 1000 रुपए सीसीए प्रतिमाह मिलेगा। जयपुर में बेसिक पे का 16 फीसदी एचआरए के तौर पर भुगतान किया जाएगा। पहले बेसिक का 20 फीसदी देय था। पहले बेसिक कम होता था, जिसके कारण एचआरए की रकम कम होती थी। सातवें वेतनमान में बेसिक बढ़ जाएगी, जिससे एचआरए की कम पहले से डबल हो जाएगी।

प्रोबेशनर के लिए एनपीएस

सरकार ने पहली बार प्रोबेशनर के लिए न्यू पेंशन स्कीम लेकर आई है। प्राेबेशनर के वेतन से 10 फीसदी रकम पेंशन के लिए कटेगा। जबकि 10 फीसदी रकम राज्य सरकार जमा कराएगी। यह बिल्कुल नई शुरूआत है।

केंद्र ने 2016 में लागू किया था 7वां वेतनमान

केंद्र सरकार ने अगस्त 2016 में जनवरी 2016 से सातवें वेतन आयोग की सिफारिशें लागू कर दिया था। प्रदेश में फरवरी में 7वें पूर्व आईएएस डीसी सामंत की अध्यक्षता में तीन सदस्यीय समिति का गठन किया था। दीपावली से ठीक पहले सीएम ने सामंत कमेटी की सिफारिश को लागू करने की घोषणा की थी। सिफारिश को लागू करने से प्रदेश सरकार पर 10 हजार करोड़ रुपए से अधिक का भार आने की संभावना जताई जा रही है।

नाराजगी : 9 कर्मचारी संघ की बैठक आज

नए वेतनमान पर सचिवालय कर्मचारी संघ के अध्यक्ष अभिमन्यु शर्मा ने बताया कि नौ संगठनों के पदाधिकारियों की मंगलवार को सचिवालय में बैठक बुलाई गई है, जिसमें आगे की रणनीति पर फैसला होगा। सचिवालय अधिकारी सेवा संघ के अध्यक्ष शंकर सिंह सोमवार को सीएम से भी मिले। राज्य कर्मचारी संयुक्त महासंघ के महामंत्री तेज सिंह राठौड़ ने कहा- सरकार ने धोखा दिया है।

सरकार ने 7 वें वेतन आयोग की सिफारिश से अलग न्यूनतम वेतन और फिटमेंट फेक्टर को बढ़ाने के लिए हरी झंडी दे दी है। यह केंद्र सरकार के कर्मचारियों के लिए अच्छी खबर है।

एनएसी और व्यय विभाग इस मामले को अंतिम रूप देंगे, जिसके बाद कैबिनेट जनवरी 2018 में इसे स्वीकृति देगी। एनएसी सातवें वेतन आयोग की सिफारिशों की जांच करने के लिए बनाई गई थी। सरकार ने आश्वासन दिया था कि विसंगतियों की जांच होगी।

अब एनएसी को सैलरी और फिटमेंट फैक्टर में बढ़ोतरी के साथ आगे बढ़ने के लिए ग्रीन सिग्नल दिया गया है।

इससे अनुमान लगाया जा रहा है कि न्यूनतम सैलरी को 18,000 रुपए से बढ़ाकर 21,000 रुपए किया जा सकता है।

कार्मिक, लोक शिकायत और पेंशन मंत्रालय के अधिकारियों का कहना है कि सरकार ने ग्रीन सिग्नल देने का फैसला किया क्योंकि इसके पास धन था।

सरकार को पता है कि उनके पास केंद्र सरकार के कर्मचारियों की वेतन वृद्धि के लिए पैसा है। वेतन बढ़ोतरी कितनी की जाएगी इसके बारे में अभी कुछ नहीं कहा जा सकता है।

गौरतलब है कि कैबिनेट ने सातवें वेतन आयोग की सिफारिशों के मुताबिक न्यूनतम वेतन को 7,000 रुपए से बढ़ाकर 18,000 रुपए महीने करने को पहले ही मंजूरी दे दी है। इसके अलावा फिटमेंट फेक्टर को भी 2.57 गुना बढ़ा दिया गया है। इसके बावजूद केंद्रीय कर्मचारियों की मांग है कि न्यूनतम वेतन 18,000 रुपए महीने से बढ़ाकर 26,000 रुपए महीने किया जाए और फिटमेंट फेक्टर को 2.57 गुना बढ़ाने के बजाए 3.68 गुना बढ़ाया जाए।

शिक्षा लोन के लिए विद्या लक्ष्मी पोर्टल सर्च करें, जुड़े हैं 42 बैंक

प्रदेश के हजारों छात्र जो उच्च शिक्षा के लोन के लिए परेशान होते हैं उनके लिए विद्यालक्ष्मी पोर्टल शुरू किया गया है। इस पोर्टल के माध्यम से छात्रों को उच्च शिक्षा के लिए लोन प्राप्त करने में आसानी होगी। लेकिन, सबसे बड़ी समस्या यह है कि छात्रों को इसकी जानकारी ही नहीं है इस कारण वे इसका लाभ नहीं उठा पाते।

खासकर मध्यम और निम्न आय वर्ग के छात्रों को इसका लाभ मिल सकता है। खास बात यह है कि इसमें 42 बैंक जुड़े हैं और 81 लोन स्कीम हैं। छात्र को यह पता चल जाएगा कि वह किस योजना के दायरे में आ सकता है। उसे यहां-वहां भटकने की जरूरत नहीं पड़ेगी।

छात्रों को पढ़ाई में लोन लेने के लिए किसी प्रकार की परेशानी न हो इसके लिए विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग (यूजीसी) ने सभी उच्च शिक्षण संस्थानों और विश्वविद्यालायों को निर्देशित किया है कि वे अपने पोर्टल पर विद्या लक्ष्मी पोर्टल का लिंक जरूर दें ताकि छात्र आसानी से इसे खोल सकें।

गौरतलब है कि सभी विश्वविद्यालयों की अपनी वेबसाइट है जिसमें लगातार जानकारी अपडेट होती रहती है। अगर विद्या लक्ष्मी पोर्टल का लिंक इसमें दिया रहेगा तो छात्र सीधे इस पर पहुंच सकेंगे।

ये है विद्या लक्ष्मी पोर्टल

पढ़ाई के लिए लोन की चाहत रखने वाले छात्रों के लिए विद्या लक्ष्मी पहला ऐसा पोर्टल है जिसमें उनकी विभिन्न् समस्याओं का समाधान किया गया है। इसे वित्त मंत्रालय की देखरेख में तैयार किया गया है। बैंक एसोसिएशन का भी इसमें सहयोग लिया गया है।

निम्न और मध्यम आय वर्ग के कई प्रतिभाशाली छात्र धन के अभाव में अपनी पढ़ाई जारी नहीं रख पाते हैं। उन्हें कैसे फंड उपलब्ध हो सकता है इसकी जानकारी इस पोर्टल पर उपलब्ध है। शिक्षण संस्थानों के लिए भी यह पोर्टल उपयोगी है और वे अपने छात्रों को इसकी जानकारी दे सकते हैं।

विवि अनुदान आयोग के सचिव पीके ठाकुर ने सभी विश्वविद्यालयों के कुलपतियों को विवि के होम पेज पर विद्या लक्ष्मी पोर्टल का लिंक देने के लिए निर्देशित किया है ताकि उन्हें पता चल सके कि वे कैसे एजुकेशन लोन प्राप्त कर सकते हैं और उनकी पढ़ाई प्रभावित न हो।

ऐसे करेगा काम

सबसे पहले छात्र को स्वयं का पंजीयन करवाना होगा। इसके बाद सिंगल फार्म भरना होगा जिसमें उससे संबंधित जानकारी रहेगी। इसके बाद वह एक साथ अनेक बैंकों में इसके लिए आवेदन कर सकेगा। इसमें 42 बैंक रजिस्टर्ड हैं और 81 लोन स्कीम संचालित हैं।

रूसी सॉफ्टवेयर फर्म इन्फोवॉच ग्रुप ने एक 'सर्विलांस-प्रूफ' (निगरानी-रोधी) स्मार्टफोन 'टैगा फोन' पेश किया है जिसकी कीमत16,900 रुपये है।

कंपनी का दावा है कि फोन के बिल्ट-इन प्राइवेसी फीचर्स यूज़र्स की निजता सुरक्षित रखेंगे। रूसी जंगल 'टैगा' का प्रतिनिधित्व करने के लिए फोन का रंग हरा है और इसमें 5 इंच की टचस्क्रीन, दो सिम स्लॉट और डुअल कैमरा भी है।

दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी ई-कॉमर्स कंपनी अमेजॉन के संस्थापक और सीईओ जेफ बेजोस दुनिया के सबसे अमीर शख्स बन गए हैं. संपत्ति के मामले में उन्होंने माइक्रोसॉफ्ट के सह संस्थापक बिल गेट्स को पीछे छोड़ दिया. फोर्ब्स की रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक अमेजॉन के शेयरों में 2 फीसदी बढ़ोतरी से बेजोस की कुल संपत्ति में 90 करोड़ डॉलर का इजाफा हुआ. उनकी संपत्ति बढ़कर 90.6 अरब डॉलर हो गई जोकि बिल गेट्स की संपत्ति (90.1 अरब डॉलर) से थोड़ी ही ज्यादा है.

ग्रॉसरी चेन खरीदने से हुआ फायदा
हाल ही में अमेरिका की सबसे बड़ी ग्रॉसरी चेन व्होल फूड्स को खरीदा था. इस डील से बेजोस ने एक झटके में ही 13,000 करोड़ रुपए (2 अरब डॉलर) कमा लिए थे. ग्रॉसरी चेन को खरीदने से बिजोस की दौलत 2 अरब डॉलर का इजाफा हुआ.

पहले भी छोड़ा था बिल गेट्स को पीछे
यह पहली बार नहीं है जब बेजोस बिल गेट्स से आगे निकले हैं। इससे पहले जुलाई में भी यह हुआ, लेकिन तब वह कुछ ही घंटों बाद फिर पिछड़ गए. 27 जुलाई को अमेजॉन के शेयर चढ़ने के बाद बेजोस की संपत्ति बढ़कर 90.6 बिलियन डॉलर हो गई थी. हालांकि, दिनभर के कारोबार में उनके शेयर फिर से गिर गए और अमीरों की सूची में बिल गेट्स टॉप पर काबिज हो गए थे.

आखिर क्यों सरकार नहीं लगा रही पेट्रोल पर GST, मिलने लगेगा 43 रूपए लीटर पेट्रोल!

भले ही पिछले दिनों दिवाली के मौके पर राज्य शासन ने वेट में कमी कर जनता को पेट्रोल व डीजल के दामों में कुछ राहत दी थी। जानकारी के अनुसार उस समय भी जनता को दामों में काफी कमी की आशा थी। जो पूरी नहीं होने पर प्रदेश की जनता को अब सरकार द्वारा पुन: दाम कम किए जाने की आशा है।

वहीं मध्यप्रदेश की जनता की आशा के बीच आए नेताओं के पेट्रोल को सस्ता करने के बयान ने लोगों की खुशी को दुगना कर दिया है। जानकारों का कहना है कि वेट हटाने से इनके दामों में काफी कमी आ सकती है।

जानकारी के अनुसार केंद्र सरकार को भी पेट्रोल डीजल की कीमतों में तेजी के लिए हालिया हफ्तों में काफी आलोचना का सामना करना पड़ा। जिसके बाद वित्त मंत्री अरुण जेटली ने देश की इकॉनमी का रोडमैप पेश करते हुए जब बुधवार को जीएसटी को लेकर अपनी बात रखी तब यह भी साफ कर दिया कि केंद्र सरकार हमेशा से ही पेट्रोलियम पदार्थों को जीएसटी के अंतर्गत लाने के लिए तैयार रही है, लेकिन इस पर आखिरी निर्णय तभी लिया जा सकता है जब राज्य इसके लिए तैयार हों।

वहीं महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने कहा कि, पेट्रोल-डीजल को जीएसटी के तहत सरकार को लाना चाहिए। अगर सरकार इस काम को कर दे, तो 1 लीटर पेट्रोल सिर्फ 43 रुपए में मिलेगा और एक लीटर डीजल महज 41 रुपए में,आम आदमी को मिलेगा।

भोपाल में खुशी:
फडणवीस के पेट्रोल डीजल के रेट में कमी पर आए बयान के बाद मध्यप्रदेश के भोपाल सहित विभिन्न जिलों के लोगों में खुशी का माहौल देखा गया। लोगों का कहना है कि वेट को पूरी तरह से खत्म करने से पेट्रोल व डीजल के दामों में कमी आ जाएगी, जो उचित है।

सरकार हमेशा ही हमसे पेट्रोल का कहीं ज्यादा पैसा वसूलती है। उचित है कि अब जब दाम कम हो सकते हैं, तो वह कार्यवाही की जाए।

महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस का बयान बिलकुल ठीक आया है। सरकार पेट्रोल डीजल से वेट हटाकर सस्ता करेगी तो कई चीजों के रेट अपने आप घट जाएंगे, क्योकिं ट्रांस्पोर्टेशन सस्ता हो जाएगा। यह कदम उठाना सबके हित में ही होगा। आशा है सरकार ऐसा ही करेगी।

दो चार रुपए वेट में कुछ प्रतिशत की कटौती कर के तो किए जा सकते हैं, यदि वेट ही हटा दिया जाएगा तो सोचिए यह पेट्रोल डीजल कितने सस्ते हो जाएंगे। केवल दिवाली या किसी खास समय पर जनता को एक दो रुपए का लाभ देने से तो अच्छा है। वेट हटा दो उसमें भी जीएसटी ही लगाओ, रेट में आई कमी सबको फायदा देगी।

हमारा आॅफिस घर से 14 किमी दूर है और ऐसा भोपाल में कई लोगों का है। कभी कभी घर वालों के साथ घूमने भी जाना होता है। ऐसे में हर माह करीब तीन हजार का पेट्रोल आराम से लग जाता है। वेट हटेगा तो पेट्रोल में कम खर्चा तो होगा ही घर में भी कुछ अपने बच्चों की और जरूरतें पूरी कर सकेंगे।

इससे पहले हालिया हफ्तों में हुई आलोचनाओं के बाद केंद्र सरकार ने पेट्रोल और डीजल पर लगने वाली एक्साइज ड्यटी में 2 रुपये प्रति लीटर की कटौती कर दी। इसके बाद मध्यप्रदेश,गुजरात, महाराष्ट्र और हिमाचल प्रदेश ने वैट घटा दिया। वहीं यह भी माना जा रहा है कि जीएसटी के दायरे में पेट्रोल और डीजल की कीमतों को लाने से उपभोक्ताओं को लाभ हो सकता है। मालूम हो कि पेट्रोल और डीजल पर राज्य सरकारें 25 से 49 फीसदी तक वैट वसूलती हैं।

फड़नवीस का ये आया बयान:
महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने ऑयल मिनिस्टर धर्मेंद्र प्रधान के बाद अब पेट्रोल और डीजल की बढ़ती कीमतों से आम आदमी को राहत देने के लिए केंद्र सरकार को अपने सुझाव दिए हैं। उन्होंने यह सुझाव एक कार्यक्रम में दिए। हालांकि कुछ समय पहले ही डीजल की बढ़ती कीमतों से आम आदमी को राहत देने के लिए केंद्र सरकार ने एक्साइज ड्यूटी 2 रुपये घटा दी। वहीं, मध्यप्रदेश,महाराष्ट्र समेत कुछ राज्यों ने भी वैट में कटौती कर दी है।

कार्यक्रम में सुझाव देते हुए देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने कहा कि, पेट्रोल-डीजल को जीएसटी के तहत सरकार को लाना चाहिए। अगर सरकार इस काम को कर दे, तो 1 लीटर पेट्रोल सिर्फ 43 रुपए में मिलेगा और एक लीटर डीजल महज 41 रुपए में,आम आदमी को मिलेगा। 4 सितंबर को इंडियन ऑयल कंपनी की तरफ से जारी डाटा के मुताबिक ऑयल कंपनियां एक लीटर पेट्रोल के लिए 26.65 रुपये चुकाती हैं।

स्मार्टफोन बनाने वाली चीनी कंपनी शियोमी अपना एक और स्मार्टफोन लॉन्च करने की तैयारी कर रही है। एक लीक में इसका खुलासा हुआ है। कंपनी अपने रेडमी नोट 4 के अगले वर्जन रेडमी नोट 5 को लॉन्च करने की तैयारी कर रही है। टीना वेबसाइट के मुताबिक इस फोन में 5.99 इच की डिस्प्ले मिलेगी। यह 2.5डी कर्व्ड ग्लास के साथ आएगा। इसके अलावा फोन के दो वेरिएंट लॉन्च होंगे। एक 3GB रैम के साथ और दूसरा 4GB के साथ।

फोन के फीचर्स के अलावा इसकी कुछ तस्वीर भी जारी की गई हैं। फोन को व्हाइट व गोल्ड शेड में देखा जा सकता है। फ्रंट से यह दिखने में रेडमी नोट 4 से बिलकुल अलग है। फोन में पतले किनारों के साथ 18:9 आस्पेक्ट रेशियो वाली डिस्प्ले दी गई है। फोन में पीछे की तरफ LED फ्लैश के साथ सिंगल रियर कैमरा और फिंगरप्रिंट स्कैनर दिया गया है।

सरकार सिम कार्ड को आधार से वेरिफाइ करने की प्रक्रिया को आसान करने जा रही है। मीडिया रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, री-वेरिफिकेशन की प्रक्रिया को आसान किया जाएगा और मोबाइल यूजर्स घर बैठे ही मोबाइल नंबर आधार से वेरिफाइ करा पाएंगे।

मोबाइल नंबर से आधार कार्ड लिंक कराने की प्रक्रिया को आसान करने के लिए सरकार वन टाइम पासवर्ड (ओटीपी) और आपके घर पर री-वेरिफिकेशन की सुविधा दे सकती है। अभी तक मोबाइल नंबर को आधार से लिंक कराने के लिए एनरॉलमेंट सेंटर जाना होता था।

मोबाइल कंपनियों को निर्देश दिया जाएगा कि वह री-वेरिफिकेशन मोबाइल यूजर के घर पर उपलब्ध कराएं। इसका फायदा वरिष्ठ नागरिकों, बीमार व्यक्तियों और दिव्यांगों को मिलेगा।

मोबाइल कंपनियों को कहा गया है कि वह ऑनलाइन वेरिफिकेशन के लिए पूरा तंत्र तैयार करें, जिससे यूजर्स को परेशानी न हो। नया मोबाइल नंबर लेने के लिए आधार कार्ड पहले से अनिवार्य है, लेकिन सरकार ने पुराने यूजर्स को भी अपना सिम आधार से लिंक करने को कहा है।

इसके अलावा मौजूदा मोबाइल ग्राहकों के लिए आधार ओटीपी आधारित पुन: सत्यापन की सुविधा भी शुरू की गई है। टेलिकॉम ऑपरेटर्स को निर्देश दिया गया है कि वे मोबाइल ग्राहकों के लिए ओटीपी आधारित पुन: सत्यापन की प्रक्रिया शुरु करें। ऑपरेटर्स को इसके लिए एसएमएस या आईवीआरएस या उनके मोबाइल ऐप का इस्तेमाल करने को कहा गया है।

सूत्र ने कहा कि इसका आशय है कि यदि एक मोबाइल नंबर आधार डेटाबेस में पंजीकृत है, तो ओटीपी तरीके का इस्तेमाल उस नंबर के पुन: सत्यापन के अलावा संबंधित ग्राहक के अन्य नंबरों के सत्यापन के लिए भी किया जा सकता है। सूत्र ने बताया कि करीब 50 करोड मोबाइल नंबर पहले ही आधार डेटाबेस में रजिस्टर्ड हैं। इन सभी मामलों में पुन: सत्यापन के लिए ओटीपी का इस्तेमाल किया जा सकता है।

The exam was conducted in March-April this year. After the board had declared the result for 12th board exam, there was much anticipation about the 10th results as the board is known to declare 10th results soon after 12th results. The result for all the studnets who appeared in the 10th board exam is available on CBSE's official results portal.

So far the result has been declared for Allahabad, Chennai, Delhi, Trivandrum, and Dehradun region. Result for Ajmer, Patna, Panchkula, Guwahati and Bhubaneshwar regions are awaited.

According to ANI, the pass percentage of students in CBSE class 10th board exams is 90.95% which is lower than last year, when the pass percentage was 96.21%.

Google Researcher Finds Links Wannacry Ransome's with North Korea

Well Finally Indian Man and a Google Researcher Neel Mehta finds a link of Wannacry Ransomware with Lazarus Group. This group recently transfer 5 Billions of Money from Bangaladesh's Bank and this group is totally related by North Korea.

Who is Lazarus Group?

Lazarus Group is a cybercrime group made up of an unknown number of individuals. While not much is known about the Lazarus Group, researchers have attributed many cyber attacks to them over the last decade. The earliest known attack that the group is responsible for is known as "Operation Troy", which took place from 2009–2012. This was a cyber-espionage campaign that utilized unsophisticated DDoS techniques to target the South Korean government in Seoul. They are also responsible for attacks in 2011 and 2013. It is possible that they were also behind a 2007 attack targeting South Korea, but that still isn't certain. A notable attack that the group is known for is the 2014 attack on Sony Pictures.

The Sony attack used more sophisticated techniques and highlighted how advanced the group has become over time. The most recent attack attributed to the group is recent 2016 bank heist which included an attack on the Bangladesh Bank, successfully stealing US$81 million.

Neel Mehta Finds a Clue

Neel Mehta, a security researcher at Google, found evidence that suggests the WannaCry ransomware,, is linked to a state-sponsored hacking group in North Korea, known for cyber attacks against South Korean organizations. Named as Lazarus Group and This group also steals the 5 Billions from Bangladesh's Bank.

Some security researchers from Kaspersky, Symantec, immediately followed the tip from Neel and confirmed a strong link between WannaCry and other malware families, including Lazarus, Joanap, and Brambul, which suggests WannaCry was written or modified by the same author and Lazarus mainly worked many times for the North Korea. So, it could be the North Korea behind to these attacks, But not really sure till yet.

How to Protect Your Computer from Ransomware Attack?

1. Always Install Security Updates

If you are using any version of Windows, except Windows 10, with SMB protocol enabled, make sure your computer should always receive updates automatically from the Microsoft, and it’s up-to-date always.

2. Patch SMB Vulnerability

Since WannaCry has been exploiting a critical SMB remote code execution vulnerability (CVE-2017-0148) for which Microsoft has already released a patch (MS17-010) in the month of March, you are advised to ensure your system has installed those patches.

Moreover, Microsoft has been very generous to its users in this difficult time that the company has even released the SMB patches (download from here) for its unsupported versions of Windows as well, including Windows XP, Vista, 8, Server 2003 and 2008.

Note: If you are using Windows 10 Creators Update (1703), you are not vulnerable to SMB vulnerability.

3. Disable SMB

Even if you have installed the patches, you are advised to disable Server Message Block version 1 (SMBv1) protocol, which is enabled by default on Windows, to prevent against WannaCry ransomware attacks.

Here's the list of simple steps you can follow to disable SMBv1:

Go to Windows' Control Panel and open 'Programs.'
Open 'Features' under Programs and click 'Turn Windows Features on and off.'
Now, scroll down to find 'SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support' and uncheck it.
Then click OK, close the control Panel and restart the computer.

4. Enable Firewall & Block SMB Ports

Always keep your firewall enabled, and if you need to keep SMBv1 enabled, then just modify your firewall configurations to block access to SMB ports over the Internet. The protocol operates on TCP ports 137, 139, and 445, and over UDP ports 137 and 138.

5. Use an Antivirus Program

An evergreen solution to prevent against most threats is to use a good antivirus software from a reputable vendor and always keep it up-to-date.
Almost all antivirus vendors have already added detection capability to block WannaCry, as well as to prevent the secret installations from malicious applications in the background.

6. Be Suspicious of Emails, Websites, and Apps

Unlike WannaCry, most ransomware spread through phishing emails, malicious adverts on websites, and third-party apps and programs.
So, you should always exercise caution when opening uninvited documents sent over an email and clicking on links inside those documents unless verifying the source to safeguard against such ransomware infection.

Also, never download any app from third-party sources, and read reviews even before installing apps from official stores.

7. Regular Backup your Files: (imp)

To always have a tight grip on all your important documents and files, keep a good backup routine in place that makes their copies to an external storage device which is not always connected to your computer.
That way, if any ransomware infects you, it can not encrypt your backups.

8. Keep Your Knowledge Up-to-Date (imp)

There's not a single day that goes without any report on cyber attacks and vulnerabilities in popular software and services, such as Android, iOS, Windows, Linux and Mac Computers as well.

So, it’s high time for users of any domain to follow day-to-day happening of the cyber world, which would not only help them to keep their knowledge up-to-date, but also prevent against even sophisticated cyber attacks.

Individuals and small businesses should: (in short)

Run Windows Update to get the latest software updates.
Update your windows to latest patches.
Make sure any anti-virus product is up to date and scan your computer for any malicious programs. It's also worth setting up regular auto-scans.
Back up important data on your computer in case it gets held for ransom.

But before making any final decision, just keep in mind: there's no guarantee that even after paying the ransom, you would regain control of your files.

Moreover, paying ransom also encourages cyber criminals to come up with similar threats and extort money from the larger audience.
