” Let’s make Psychonauts 2 happen ,” tweeted Minecraft creator Markus Persson (AKA Notch) yesterday to Double Fine CEO, and designer of the original game, Tim Schafer. Notch’s Tweet alone would pique the interest of Double Fine fans.

Forget Used Games, Some New Games Sales Don’t Pay Their Creators

Used game sales hurt the bottom line of all console game developers, as the entirety of each sale goes to the retailer and not the game’s makers. It’s a familiar line we’ve heard from several developers and publishers in the past five years.

Nintendo’s DLC Strategy Appears to Put the Company on the Right Track

Nintendo made headlines last week when it announced something many felt it should have had in place years ago: the Nintendo Network. The details remain sketchy at best and, like with details on the Wii U, it is likely we’ll be waiting until E3 in June before we’ve given a better idea of how the Network will actually come together.

Netflix Ditches Plans for Game Rentals

Netflix bewildered nearly everyone last year when it announced it would separate its streaming and DVD-by-mail services into distinct brands. There was a piece of good news in all of it, and that was Netflix’s intention to add game rentals to the newly revealed Qwikster.

THQ Denies it Has Canceled its 2014 Games

A number of rumors emerged over the weekend involving the future of THQ, none of which painted an especially promising picture for the publisher. Despite suggestions that it had canceled its entire slate of games set to come out in 2014, it has released a statement denying that is the case.

WiiWare Demos Reappear in North America

Out of nowhere, several dozen WiiWare game demos have reappeared on the Wii Shop Channel and can now be downloaded for free. As discovered by Nintendo World Report , 50 demos in all are currently available.
