Kidz Sports: Crazy Mini Golf Official Press

Popcorn Arcade Presents Crazy Mini Golf on Nintendo Wii.

“Perfect for the half term rainy day”
The Times Newspaper England

Stourbridge, England, 31st October 2008. The world is going through one of its most crazy periods with the banking systems in free fall, governments passing more terrorist laws as they claim the bad guys are sitting behind our settees waiting to pounce on us - and America arguing about who should run the free world in the 21st Century. So, you could say that the future’s pretty gloomy?....... NOT SO! Why not call a few mates round, grab your putters, choose your characters and aim for the entrance to the windmill in a multi-player game of Crazy Mini Golf?

Data Design Interactive – a successful video games publisher and games developer, are pleased to announce that the street date and price structure for their Nintendo Wii game entitled ‘Kidz Sports - Crazy Mini Golf’ to be released on their Popcorn Arcade label, The game will ship in England on 7th November and the UK price will be standalone version £19,99 and bundle pack with putter peripheral £24,99.

Kidz Sports - Crazy Mini Golf’ offers players 72 crazy holes set over 4 wacky courses... Have fun and a lot of laughs creating customised Kidz Sports versions of you and your friends to play in game as DDI roll out the first title using their all new ‘NuYu’ character editor. In multiplayer modes your opponents will also appear in game and can cheer or taunt your play on the green.

The game has the most accurate golf swing of any Wii title, where the smallest and the most accurate of movements are perfectly simulated. This is a real challenge for a skilled player or a serious golfer. DDI also recognise that mini golfing is fun and in case your non- golfing auntie also wants to play, `Kids Sports Crazy Mini Golf` also has a simpler, arcade style fast-play mode. Play 9 or 18 holes, multiplayer with friends, or solo and try to beat your best, or the world’s best scores for each hole. Lots of challenges and lots of fun. Once mastered, you will feel like a putting green King…

Take your putting to the next level with Kidz Sports: Crazy Mini Golf.

DDI’s brand new NuYu editor lets you put yourself in the game by creating customisable characters that fit your personality. You can then use those characters in compatible NuYu games and even save them to your Wii Remote to take to a friend’s house.

A NuYu (pronounced New-You) is a customisable player character editor exclusive for the Popcorn Arcade Wii range. NuYu’s are customisable and allow the user to capture a likeness, caricature or personality of themselves and others.

After specifying a gender for the NuYu, the user can alter the shape of the NuYu’s head, its eyes, hair, eyebrows, nose, and mouth. In addition, the creator can give the NuYu glasses or facial hair as he/she desires, or give the face wrinkles, makeup or rosey cheeks. You can also add glasses and other fun accessories.

Many of the features can be fine-tuned by adjusting their size, position, and rotation to the center of the NuYu’s face. . NuYu’s are intended to be an extension of the player, and in keeping with the Popcorn Arcade spirit of ‘Family Family Fun’, the user will be able to use their NuYu’s in future Data Design titles for the Wii.

The Conduit Official Press

SEGA GETS ZAPPED BY HIGH VOLTAGE WITH THE CONDUIT

SEGA to Publish Highly Anticipated Wii Title in Spring 2009

LONDON & SAN FRANCISCO (29th October, 2008) –SEGA® of Europe Ltd. and SEGA® of America, Inc. today announced a worldwide partnership with High Voltage Software to publish and distribute the Wii™ home video game system-exclusive title, The Conduit™. The first-person shooter garnered multiple awards at E3 2008, including three awards from IGN: Best Shooting Game (Wii), Best Graphics Technology (Wii) and Best Overall Wii Game. The Conduit is a stunning, futuristic title powered by a new game engine technology that delivers remarkable visuals and effects, as well as a rich interactive experience that is unlike any other title on the Wii.

“Bringing The Conduit into our library is yet another show of SEGA’s belief that the Wii is more than a casual games console,” says Gary Knight, European Marketing Director at SEGA of Europe Ltd.. “As one of the most anticipated Wii games for next year, The Conduit will be the new benchmark for first person shooters.”

“High Voltage Software's partnership with SEGA to publish The Conduit represents an important milestone for this studio,” said Kerry Ganofsky, CEO and founder of High Voltage Software, Inc. “SEGA shares our vision for the title and its tremendous potential, which is why we chose them from a long list of potential partners. With their support, we are confident that The Conduit will deliver the definitive shooter experience that Wii fans have been waiting for since the system's launch.”

The Conduit takes players into a dark story in Washington D.C. after a vicious alien invasion has rocked the country. An organisation called the Trust has sent in Secret Service agent, Mr. Ford, to go up against the insect-like alien race known as “The Drudge.” Armed with an array of futuristic weaponry and an intelligence-gathering device simply called the “All-Seeing Eye,” players follow an intricate maze filled with conspiracy, shady government activity and terrifying aliens.

The Conduit’s detailed control system allows players to customise and configure their controls, including look sensitivity, turning speed, the dead zone and much more. As players delve further into the mystery behind the extraterrestrial invasion, shocking details reveal that the invasion may have been brought on with help from the government itself.

Powered by High Voltage Software’s groundbreaking Quantum 3 engine, The Conduit ensures that players will experience single and multiplayer gameplay with graphical fidelity never seen before on the Wii. The Conduit will also support the recently announced Wii Speak peripheral, allowing online multiplayer gamers the ability to chat as they destroy aliens in each terrifying level. Additionally, the game will take advantage of the Wii MotionPlus for optimal control.

The Conduit is slated to release in Spring 2009 exclusively on the Nintendo Wii. For more information on The Conduit please visit www.sega.co.uk. For press information and assets please visit www.sega-press.com.

I'll play with Louise, you play with Harry

I don't watch much television, but even I haven't escaped the Redknapp family Wii adverts. You know, the ones with Harry, Jamie, Louise and some random bloke playing Mario Kart Wii and Super Smash Bros Brawl on a nice sofa in a nice house and not swearing at all.

Well Nintendo launched a new promotional site this week, My Nintendo, and the Redknapp reach has obviously extended beyond TV ads.

It's a genius move signing them up. Everyone loves Harry, especially Tottenham fans, Louise is nice to look at, and Jamie was a top footballer (even if he did play for Liverpool) and one of the best pundits on TV. Expect to see the Barton family promoting the PS3 in due course.
