        If you already own an Xbox 360 Slim you'll be well aware of the noise it makes while you are playing a game, something reminiscent of a small aeroplane, such is the amount fan cooling it takes to keep its temperature down. Another thing you are probably aware of is the need to buy an extra plug-in device to enable Wi-Fi. These were the two main bug bears of the original Xbox 360 and and I'm happy to say that both of these problems have been addressed in the new slim line model.
   As many of you may know, the chipset has been a major problem with previous 360 models, but they have replaced it now. It is impossible for this console to get the RROD (as it doesn't have any red leds in it, so as you can see, impossible), but this console runs allot cooler then is predecessors, this is partly due to the new chipset design, but also to the fact of the new fan, whilst the old 360s had 2 fans in the back of the console, the new Xbox 360 Slim has 1 big fan, which is much better positioned and is much more officiant.


         Another new design feature are the buttons, you no longer have to physically apply pressure on the buttons found on the Xbox 360 Slim as they are touch sensitive, and to make sure that you know it was pressed, the console even emits a small sound, this apply to both the power button and the tray button, which is now located onto of the console.
   The Xbox 360 Slim has a 250GB hard drive as standard, but the hard drive location is different to that of the old Xbox 360, the new placement is within the console itself, it is still removable, it is located behind a panel on the side of the 360. The new hard drive is not compatible with the older 360 models, but you can still tranfer your information with a simple cable that you can purchase from most game stores, and it is easy to do.

The new Xbox 360 Slim now has 5 USB ports, which is 2 more than the older 360 models. It has two on the front and three on the back, on back of the Xbox 360 Slim, it also has a AUX port which is specifically designed to be used with Microsofts new Kinect motion system.
A missing component on the new Xbox 360 Slim is that it no longer has memory card slots on the front of the console, but the new update on the 360 means that any USB device can be used as a memory device on the console, so you don't really need the memory slots anymore.
One more advantage of the Xbox 360 Slim is that is has built in 802.11n Wi-Fi, which means you no longer have to go out and buy thw wireless accessories, meaning you can just pocket that money or go out and buy some more games.

If you have been looking into buying an Xbox 360, you should now consider purchasing the slim. This model has a bigger hard drive, wireless internet support, and a new sleek look that surely makes it a great console to have.

When things get totally out of whack it can get a little disorienting - Nintendo makes it easy to right the problems (just push down on the D-Pad) but this definitely complicates things for more than Wii Sports ever did. Add on top the need for the system to recheck the calibration by setting the controller down on a flat surface for a few seconds, and you've made things far less pick-up-and-play.
