 important section of the Merced River is now closed for angling. 
Beginning on January 1, 2015 fishermen can fish on the river again. This
 early closure affects only the Merced River from Crocker-Huffman Dam

 of September 1, 2014 the Klamath River Spit fishery will be closed

their sub-quota of 619 adult fall-run Chinook salmon below the Highway 
101 bridge.
