The last eighteen months have been a hectic ride for Team Smith. We arrived on our yacht into beautiful Cooktown, and started to set up our Veterinary Clinic from scratch.

Needless to say it has been amazing, busy, hectic, rewarding, ….. and did I mention busy!

This has meant our podcasting frequency has dropped, for which we apologise. We are heading to Tonga tomorrow for three weeks with the amazing Dave and Tris Sheen and their families on Whale Discoveries based at Uoleva, Ha’apai Group, Tonga.

We will work on getting some amazing footage and getting some podcasting under our belt. Look out 2016, we are back with a vengence.

This week we head to SheOak Ridge Wildlife Refuge and interview the amazing Dr Claire Baker. Claire is an entomologist who is an expert in glow worms and worked with Sir David Attenborough as a scientific advisor on two of his documentary series. Her enthusiasm for the insect world and Australia’s native wildlife is infectious; and this includes Mungi, the Agile Wallaby that Xanthe reared, and whom Claire is preparing for a soft release. Now Claire doesn’t always look like this and you will need to listen to the podcast for an explanation. Being an entomologist is a risky business!
