We are proud to announce that all of our CKE (Core Knowledge Exam) writers at Wilkinson were successful! Congratulations to Esther Vandermeer and Adrian deGroot from our Trenton office; Michael Vella in Belleville and Jordan Stopciati from Kingston.

The CKE is a very challenging four-hour examination; the first of three examinations that are written to achieve a CA designation.

We are proud to announce that Andrew Bryden and Kirk Montgomery passed the UFE, the final milestone in completing the academic requirements leading to the CA designation. A national three-day exam, the UFE assesses CA candidate competencies, including knowledge, professional judgment and ethics.

Andrew and Kirk are valued members of the Wilkinson team; working from our Trenton and Belleville offices respectively.

This year 26 good sports at Wilkinson supported the fight against Prostate Cancer with their good looks and stiff upper lips. From November the 1st to the November 30th, our brave contestants donned moustaches for the Movember Fundraising Campaign. Some moustaches were more impressive then others, but what was really impressive were the results. The entire Wilkinson team got behind their resident “Moustaches” and there was some friendly office rivalry too! The Wilkinson team raised over $6,000, with the Trenton office winning top honours. Well done everyone!

Effective January 1, 2011 private entities will be required to adopt new accounting standards for private enterprises or international financial reporting standards. Wilkinson and Company would like to extend a warm welcome to our new CA articling students Adrian DeGroot, Eric Lacourt and Michael Vella.

Eric and Michael graduated from the University of Ontario this April with a Bachelor of Commerce; while Adrian graduated with a degree in Commerce from McMaster University in 2009 and worked as an accounts manager in Mississauga before deciding to pursue his CA designation this year.
