Maybe at some point in the future I will, but that time is not now.

I will continue posting on a regular basis over on The Verbosery. Because running & weight loss are a large part of my life right now, those things will probably feature prominently in my posts. However, The Verbosery also features a lot of other things in my life, like my kids, my wife, my dog (and, eventually, dogs) and my opinions on lots of things.

I may use this blog to track training, my race calendar and race reports, in conjunction with regular posting on The Verbosery, but that remains to be seen.

At any rate! I wanted to say that I've enjoyed & appreciate your support, and hope that you will follow me over to my regular blog.

Down & I believe I've mentioned how completely out of my frame of reference this type of thing is, so it's certainly been interesting. It's hard, but there are modifications for the (rare) things I just really can't do. Which, I've noticed, works out more closely to "I'm going to puke if I keep this up, what can I do longer that will get me a similar result?" And I'm kind of ok with having to ask for those modifications. I'd rather do more than have to quit earlier. I know I'll get to the point where I can do the harder moves, so I'm not really concerned about that right this very second. And the one that comes to mind the most is the Mountain Climber move, which I did one round and then switched for step ups because *puke*. There was just no doing the Mountain Climber a second time. Really.

We did our very first progress weigh in yesterday & I was up 2 pounds to 272 and up 0.06% body fat. I was fully prepared to be up because my initial weigh in was directly after my last 5k and it's reasonable to expect that I was down some weight due to dehydration. Our trainer made a point of that, and went on to state that the next couple of weigh ins will provide a more accurate indication of our progress.

In the meantime, I'm going to try to do my level best to eat well and get in my other workouts.

I've been missing yoga because of timing and because I've had a problem having enough fuel in the tank to take on a yoga class, too. I'm hoping to get some classes in this weekend. I've also been slacking in the running department, for multiple reasons. Yes, I suck. That's the main reason. That makes me nervous because my next 5k is approaching quickly and, frankly, I'm scared. I'm hoping to get back on track with that, and I hope I can get enough work in to at least not suck worse than last time.

That's a goal, right?

I'm also hoping to check in with another post by this weekend, but I make no promises!

Friend Makin' Mondays - Uniquely You

1) Do you prefer talking or texting? I text a lot. And if you absolutely, 100% NEED a response from me, you'd better text me. But I do enjoy talking on the phone, and have discovered, lately, how much I enjoy it, thanks to a couple of friends who like to chat while I'm driving home.

2) Do you make your bed everyday? Gah. No way.

3) What sounds do you hear right now? My fan, keyboards, and a chatty office

4) List three things that you always carry with you: My cell phone, wallet & keys.

5) What are your favorite TV shows? We actually don't have TV like normal people. Which I think is the best thing we've ever done. We watch movies & sometimes tv shows on dvd. That's it!

6) Is there a hobby that you'd like to devote more time to? If so, what is it? Photography & crafting. Love them both, but I haven't quite gotten them fit into the schedule as much as I'd like.

7) What is your favorite drink? Since I gave up diet Coke... Um... Water? Coffee, iced green tea, beer. That's about it. Although I have started actually ENJOYING hot tea. It's been years since I've enjoyed it.

8) Share a couple of cool facts about your family: My wife & I are among a limited number of same sex couples who are legally married in the state of California. My wife calls me Henry and I call her Hank.

9) List one thing that you will do for yourself today: I will attend my first session of the Body Fit Challenge.

10) Share something that you're thankful for today: I'm thankful I've got a supportive family who think I'm only kind of crazy for going after all of this!

By Numbers

1. Susan B. Anthony 5K Chip time: 53:05.9

2. HOT Pink 5K Chip time: 53:50.9

3. Body Fit Challenge starting statistics: 270 pounds, 45.4% body fat

4. #3 means that, theoretically, I can guesstimate a weight loss goal. Using our good friend "math" and using 20% body fat as a "goal", it's possible to come up with an estimate of how much weight I should lose to get to that point, and what I might weight once I do. Is it true, correct, or what I should be aiming for? I'm not sure. The results I got when I did the math indicated a weight that would still put my BMI at 29, well into the "overweight" category and almost to obese. How does THAT make sense?

5. I do plan on posting updates to my statistics as the 8 week Body Fit Challenge goes on. And, yes, ok, I'm kind of scared, but I'm also totally fucking excited about the transformation that's about to occur!

HOT Pink 5K - A Post in Pictures

Bib

Team Henry - Before

After

October Ass Kicking

To cross-post from my regular blog:

Saturday I run the Hot Pink 5K and directly afterwards I check in for my weigh in & measurements for the beginning of the Body Fit Challenge. At work, Monday begins the For Reals portion of what has been affectionately dubbed The Project That Ate My Life. This portion will eat most of my work hours whole for the entire month of October. And then I close out the month with the Down & Dirty Mud Run.

So.

Um.

October is fixing to hand me my ass in a serious way.

I'm kind of scared.

Really.

I may not have a lot to say this month, but I'll try to continue checking in as much as possible. Maybe I'll preschedule content. Maybe I'll post on the fly. We'll see how it goes.

I'm hoping to post as much as possible, because I'd like to document this part of the journey, however, my free time during October will be limited, at best. Please feel free to nag me if you feel it's been too long since I've checked in. I am hoping to get a nice post up Sunday with a race report and my starting stats for the Body Fit Challenge.

Y'all.

I'm scared.

Here's a photo from today:

YES in the bathroom.

The Can'ts

I've been a vegetarian for over 7 years.

I hear "the can'ts" a lot. Usually this comes right after someone learns I'm a vegetarian.

"Oh, I could never live without (insert meat product here)!"*

I've started noticing the can'ts in weight loss bloglandia. Yesterday there was a post from someone who *just can't* eat a burger without cheese.

All I can think when I see the can'ts is:

You might be surprised by what you can do once you've made up your mind to.

What "can'ts" have you turned around on your journey?

*I have no idea why my being vegetarian makes some people feel so defensive of their own carniverous ways. I'm really not trying to convert you.

BIG HEAD little arms

My wife likes to tease me with this. She even pulls her arms in close and waves them around, all stumpy like.

I don't have a lot of reach.

I've been blaming this mostly on all the extra padding, that makes less reach available. But I don't know. Maybe I just really don't have a lot of arm.

When I do yoga, I have to use blocks whenever the pose requires that I reach, well, anything.

I've gotten pretty good with the blocks, so it's ok. I wonder, though, if there'll ever be a time when I don't need the blocks.

I wonder if I'll ever have enough reach on my own.

In other news!

Last Friday we stopped in at the Fleet Feet downtown.

I had posed a question to the Twitterverse about using my Nike+ sensor chip with my Vibrams and I got an answer direct from the horse's mouth (so to speak). I wanted to check it out myself, and, since we were downtown, we stopped in.

After I finished shopping, I dropped the bag in the car & my wife suggested I pop across the street to a different kind of store, since they were having a sidewalk sale.

I glanced up the street towards the oncoming traffic and noted that the light holding traffic back was about to change and took off running across the street.

In flip flops and jeans.

And didn't fall on my face.

Or get run over.

And it felt... Natural.

And I totally declared that an NSV.

Jayrunning.

Hey, I couldn't have done that mere months ago.

Wouldn't even have tried.

And that was kind of awesome.

Help!

I need some advice in a couple of areas. I'm going to bullet them for your convenience.

1. Socks with Vibrams: Does anyone do this and/or have recommendations for brands/styles? Cold season is coming up, and I imagine they'll be needed. Also because the Vibrams sometimes feel sticky gross, and it seems like it'd be nicer to have some fabric in there. I am prepared to be wrong.

2. Is there anywhere that lists all the races & events going on? I've noticed that it's certainly not active.com or dailymile. But where? Do I just need to figure out what websites list races and then cobble the information together myself? Because that would suck!

3. I have no clue how to run at a pace. My natural setting is "fastest", but, obviously, I burn out quickly. I can't run at a given pace, even if it "feels like" I'm running the same speed as last time. Clearly this is an issue, but how do I fix it?

Friend Makin' Mondays: Health and Body Image

Hello to everyone visiting from Friend Makin' Mondays! I hope you enjoy your stay & if you leave me a comment or sign on to follow, I'll be sure to visit you, too!

1) If you could magically change one thing about your body, what would it be? I'd get my brain out of my way so that I could move forward. Not just working out & losing weight, but in other areas, as well.

2) What is your best physical feature? I get compliments on my eyes a lot, but MY favorite feature is my feet. SweetPea calls them chubby Hobbit feet, but I don't care. I love them!

3) Do you weigh yourself daily? Hourly? Weekly? Bi-weekly? Never? Once a week on Tuesday morning before yoga. I don't have a scale at home, which is, really, for the best. Tuesday morning scale checks keep me on track & provide another reason for showing up to Tuesday morning yoga. I haven't posted my number in a couple of weeks, but I've still been doing the scale check.

4) Do you workout regularly? If so, how does if affect you from day to day? I've been slacking too much lately, but I'm starting to get back on track. I do a lot of yoga and I love the way my body feels because of it. I love the achyness afterwards and the way I feel stronger, stretchier. I love the way it affects so much more than you realize it's going to.

5) What is the healthiest thing you do for yourself on a regular basis? Consistently? Yoga.

6) If you could look like a celebrity, who would you choose to look like? Drew Barrymore. I don't think that'd be a huge stretch.

7) What do you do to make yourself feel pretty/handsome? Pedicures! I love my feet and I think they look extra super awesome when freshly tended to. Of course I have the best nail technician ever, so that helps.

8) What are you most attracted to in the <strike>opposite</strike> same sex? I'm a big fan of a solid set of shoulders. And arms.

9) Have you ever avoided situations because you didn't want people to see your body shape? I try not to, and attending yoga classes has helped me get over this in a major way. I'm usually the fattest person in the class but I'm not usually the one struggling the most. I have noticed that I'm having a hard time talking myself into getting in the pool - no matter how much I love swimming - because of the time I'll have to spend OUT of the pool in just my bathing suit. Eek!

10) How do you feel about your overall appearance? Most of the time, not so bad. Then again, I have a dysfunction in being able to visualize my actual body size. It's a blessing. And a curse. :)

My goals for this week are:

1. Drink more water

2. Do all of the workouts on my schedule

Slacker-B-Gone

Race Across The Sky 2010 from Citizen Pictures on Vimeo.

Of course I first heard about the Leadville 100 from Fatty. And I first heard about the upcoming movie Race Across the Sky from Fatty, too. I totally want to see it. What's more is that the preview totally makes me want to do it.

Which isn't that strange.

Of course, the dirty little secret is that no, I don't know how to ride a bicycle.

I know, right?

But I think it's a good midrange goal.

That and Ironman.

Because, apparently, if you take sweating, bleeding, puking, pushing beyond the capacity of endurance and set it to music I like I want to be part of it.

Which is not entirely true, because I really want to do it regardless.

Maybe I'm crazy.

Anyway!

Back to the present.

This morning I got up and got to the gym early. Ran on the treadmill and then did my morning yoga. We did two types of Half Moon poses and it was fun! I like that balancy shit. It makes me feel like I'm really a yoga doer. Practitioner? Whatever.

The variation started as modified side plank, with the lower knee still on the ground, lifting the top leg & arm. I couldn't find a picture.

I'm starting to feel a little more in the rhythm and a little less slacky. It's a good feeling. I hope I can keep it going.

It's Business Time

1. I'm 2/3 of the way through a 3 hours of yoga in 24 hours blitz. I've done it a couple times before and it's a great workout. I'm definitely feeling it.

2. Last night I picked up my daughter's membership card for our gym. Yay!

3. Afterwards, I had an extra half hour before yoga, so I hit the treadmill. I put it on for 20 minutes, random incline, 3.0 pace - almost identical settings to what I did before I stopped using the treadmill about 5 months ago (except that usually I'd go longer than 20 minutes). The difference is that last night my heart rate stayed much, much lower than it used to. Am I mistaken or is that a NSV?

4. While I was getting our account in order, I signed up for the Body Fit Challenge. Ok, I'm a little scared.

5. Apparently, I need a goal for the BFC. Um... ?

6. Oh, and my Tuesday Scale Check was actually down for the first time in a couple weeks. Not that I'm going to post it, yet, but still.

7. Ok, bye.

Still Here

No, I have not fallen off the face of the planet.

Although it's kind of felt like it.

I have no idea why, but it's been so so hard for me to get back on track after the Susan B. I've been hanging by a thread to my yoga classes, but still only making two of them per week. My weight is not where I'd like it to be and neither is my eating.

General, all around suckage.

I'm really not sure how, exactly, to get back on track. Rationally, I know it's where I need to be and I know everything is better when I'm there. So what's the hang up?

I don't know, but I'll tell you this:

1. I bought a pair of Vibram 5 Fingers. Oh, yes, I did. I haven't run in them yet, but I will. Soon!

2. I signed up for the Hot Pink 5k. And I signed my daughter up, too.

3. I signed up for the Down & Dirty Mud Run (5k version). And I signed my daughter up, too (1 mile kids' version).

4. I got my gym to give my daughter a membership (even though she's 11). I go in tonight to fill out paperwork for her and then she'll be able to join me for yoga and swimming and running when it's raining.

5. We're getting back to eating at home, and less eating out. More veggies, less crap.

I feel like I'm trying to start a dead car. It keeps trying and trying but the engine just won't turn over. I'd say it's like "fake it 'til you make it", but I'm even sucking at faking it.

Tonight is for yoga. Tomorrow is for yoga times two.

Wednesday we run.

Susan B. Anthony - The Race Report

I'm not sure what all to tell you about. It is my first race report, after all.

The first thing I'll say is that I walked way more than I had intended to walk. This is not entirely surprising given the amount of slacking I did in the last couple of weeks. I also really have a hard time getting out of my head and breaking the cycle where I'm bargaining, whining, begging. I mean, really. Running's not that bad, and I wish my brain could just get the fuck over it.

Having said that, here's my stats:

9.94 kilometers in 53:10, at a pace of 5:20 per kilometer.

I have no idea how I made that pace, considering how much walking I did. As for the distance... Funny, right? The race is USATF certified, and my understanding of that is that it means the shortest possible distance you can run (cutting corners, running the inside track, etc) is 5k. So if you aren't doing those things and, if you're like me, you're drifting sides throughout the race, you're going to do, apparently, a significantly longer distance.

Either that or my Nike+ has bumped its head.

If you have clarification, that would be super.

As for the whole event, it was a great time. Buffalo Chips put on an awesome event. The goodie bags were great, the support staff & volunteers were awesome. The best part was hitting the aid station (because, yes, they had one), and seeing someone I work with - not a coworker, but someone who works the same field elsewhere in our department. It was unexpected and a good surprise to see a friendly & familiar face.

I had the best cheering squad, ever.

SweetPea calls me Henry. She's Hank.

Afterwards, SweetPea & I went to breakfast. I had eggs, potatoes, rye toast (I'm currently in love with rye toast) & a short stack of pancakes. Then SweetPea napped while I took care of some errands. Then we had a late lunch, early dinner at Hooters (blackened mahi sandwich, fried pickles & BEER).

Gawd love Blue Moon in sizes called "Big Daddy"

Then we went to play Monster Mini Golf. And hang out with "our new dog":

When we were done, I was starving! What? We stopped for a treat and then home & bed.

Had a hard time sleeping & kept waking up before finally calling it a night & getting up. Today I am so tired and still hungry.

I had been wondering about taking a rest week. I know it's typical to take a rest week after a race, but I'd been thinking that I run 5k pretty frequently, so I didn't see that I'd need to. My legs & body have definitely been telling me a different story, though. I'm definitely taking this week off from running. I'm just doing yoga, and then I might add swimming later in the week. Next week I'll start up again with week six of Podrunner Intervals. Then I can run a better race next time.

I should have more pics to share from the race photographer.

I think that's all I have! It was an excellent first race and I couldn't be more grateful to Buffalo Chips for putting on such a great event!

It's Friday Night & I'm Feeling Right

I know those aren't the lyrics. And I know it's not Friday night. But Mostly Just at Updating

I know, I know. I've been awful at updating this blog.

I have updated the Scale Check chart over there on the left, if you're interested. It's not pretty.

I've had a hard couple of weeks when it comes to doing my workouts and staying on track nutritionally. The week I posted a 4 pound gain was, obviously, the worst, and I've been steadily improving since then. Still not perfect, but I'm getting closer to fine.

Even my 5K training has been sucking lately. Too much putting it off, not getting it done when I should. I should be doing it at the buttcrack of morning, but as it gets darker & darker at asscrack o'clock, I find myself more & more hesitant to head out. Usually I tell myself I'll do it in the evening, but that's family time. Or yoga time. And it's so much easier to talk myself out of it. I don't want to start treadmill running, it's still way too warm for lunchtime runs. I ran the track at the junior college last week, but it's not open quite asscracky enough for me. Plus school starts soon, which means I have to drive MonkeySee to school every weekday morning. Which, now that I think about it, might be kind of convenient because the track is on the way. Maybe we can leave earlier and hit the track before I drop him off.

Anyway! My point being that I really need to figure out how to fit running in during the week in a way that doesn't make me super paranoid (running around the 'hood), interfere with other obligations or make me feel like a hamster.

I am open to suggestions, but if you think I can find a running partner for a 4:30am run, I think you might be mistaken.

In other news, I run my very first 5K this Saturday! The closer we get the more nervous and less excited I get. My training hasn't exactly been great and I seem to have pissed off my right hip along the way. I've been resting & icing & yogaing and it seems to be feeling a little more over it. I guess I'll know for sure when I run the track tonight. I've already decided that, unless it drops me on my ass, I'm running Saturday regardless.

I've been thinking, though, about what I should do after this. I thought about moving into half marathon training. I think, though, the best thing I can do right now is to restart the Podrunner Intervals at Week Six, the first week I truly started assing around with it, and continue through the end of the program. Once I'm done with that, I want to find a training program for running a stronger, faster 5K.

As much as I really want to move forward into running longer distances, I think I need to slow down and make learning fundamentals and building a solid base priority. I've got plenty of time to increase my distance.

I plan to add swimming at least one day per week. I'm not quite sure which day that will be & have still never got in the pool at my gym. But it's a goal. A short term goal, no less.

I'm still hitting yoga at least four times per week, and I finally ordered my very own yoga mats! Yoga Accessories had a buy one get one free special, so I got two mats, a mat bag and a small bottle of mat cleaner. Exciting! And I'm a dork! I've got one mat in the bag that I plan on leaving in the van, so it's always at the ready.

And that's the update. More to come soon!

Goals

The thinnest I've ever been is about 125 pounds. Of course, I was thin. I wasn't fit or active or muscular.

Really, I've never been any of those things.

So when I get on that scale every Tuesday to track my progress, it really begs the question: What is my goal?

How much do I plan on losing?

What is my goal weight?

Hey, guess what? No idea!

My goals, at least lately, haven't at all been about weight. Like I said, I've never been FIT or athletic. I do know enough to know that being athletic affects how much I weigh. We all know muscle weighs more than fat, right? I can't even imagine what my body might look like when I'm "done".

But I get on that scale each week for validtaion that I am working in the right direction. I do know that I have a long way to go and will drop a lot of weight along the way.

But I don't have a "goal weight". And, sometimes, that feels so very strange.

Week Six & a Scale Check

Week Six of Podrunner Intervals looked like this:

Saturday: Oops!

Monday: 5.11km, 30:21 minutes, pace average 5:57 minutes per km.

Wednesday: 6km, 32:18 minutes, pace average 5:23 minutes per km.

Tuesday Morning Scale Check was like this: -5 pounds from last week: 270 pounds.

Yoga: Monday morning, Tuesday morning, Tuesday afternoon

This morning was the very last "interval" session of my Podrunner workouts. From here on out, it's warm up, running, cool down. As you can see, I'm already clearing 5K in distance, but that's with the warm up & cool down. Only 9 more Podrunner workouts until my very first 5K!

In other news, last week I was on my period, and it was a lazy week. I even skipped yoga most of the week. But I did my best to eat as clean as possible, and, hey, I seemed to have survived the scale check with good results.

This week my goal is to hit every planned yoga class. Three down with two to go, and my body feels just so much better when it's in "yoga pain". I even got compliments on my progress from the Monday night instructor, who seems genuinely excited about it. The afternoon & evening classes seem to be more significant butt-kickings than the morning classes. Which is a nice combo.

I also want to add something to my otherwise "rest day" Sunday. I'd prefer my rest day to be Friday, even though that seems counter intuitive. Most races will be on the weekend, though, so I think a Friday rest day makes the most sense. I'm thinking about hitting the gym for swimming Sunday mornings. Would it be weird to add a weights routine to one day a week and not any others?

Anywho! I just wanted to take a moment to catch up with y'all. Work has still be slamming, so I haven't had much time to write. It's a good time, don't get me wrong, but I've spent a lot of time recently asking "What day is it?" I swear the only reason I've known the answer to that is if I can figure out what workout I'm supposed to be doing that day. Even last night, on the way to yoga, I was all "What? It's only Tuesday?"

Yup.

The Week, The Scale Check, The Running

Week Five of Podrunner Intervals looked like this:

Saturday: 3.74km, 29:46 minutes, pace average 7:58 minutes per km.

Monday: 3.93km, 29:45 minutes, pace average 7.35 minutes per km.

Wednesday: 5.12km, 28:42 minutes, pace average 5.12 minutes per km.

Tuesday Morning Scale Check was like this: -3 pounds from last week: 275 pounds.

Yoga: Tuesday morning.

I'm on my period this week so I have just felt like I'm dragging. Add to that how hungry I've felt, starting towards the end of last week, and how tired my legs felt and I've just felt... Blah! My daughter is in Horse Camp this week and is wiped out by the end of the day. Heck, so am I! It's been easy to decide to skip afternoon & evening yoga, but I'm hoping to stick to it for Thursday night and get back on track. Skipping yoga sucks when I go back!

But! I am so thrilled about doing day three of week five today, which meant I actually ran for 20 minutes in a row! It was so hard, and I was sure I wasn't going to make it the whole time, and I had to cheer myself on, like, the whole time but I totally did it and it was so awesome!

Next week is more intervals and then finally moving into running 20 minutes or more each time.

I think life might smooth out a little bit for me by next week, so I hope to get back to more regular posting. And hopefully even add something besides yoga and podrunner. Things have been crazy at work and I just haven't had the time to even strangle together some thoughts.

I start Week Five of Podrunner Intervals on Saturday and will be running a full 20 minutes in a row on Wednesday. Excited! Nervous!

I also actually have a product review coming up for you soon. Nothing sponsored. I just got tired of seeing the ads and wanted to try it out for myself. So bad. I'm trying not to beat myself up too much because what's done is done and I can't take it back (or give it back) now. But I so knew better and I really should have listened to myself. And SweetPea and I need to really learn how to not "celebrate" with food.

Tuesday Weigh In: 278, up 2 pounds from last week. YUCK.

Today SweetPea gets her first weigh in in a month. I can't wait to see how much she's lost. You can really see the difference in her, so I expect it will be a significant loss.

I did not make it to Friday night yoga. I started Week Four of Podrunner Intervals on Sunday and did Day Two this morning. I did Monday night yoga last night and Tuesday morning yoga today. I plan to do at least one more yoga session today.

Hopefully I can keep everything in line this week and have a better weigh in next week.

Holy Trimester, Batman!

Podrunner Intervals, Week Three, Day Three looks like this: 3.56km, 27:29 minutes, pace average 7:44 minutes per km.

Last night's 7pm yoga kicked my ass with style. The 7pm classes seem a little more advanced than the classes I usually take. Or maybe it's just that I'm not used to the routines. Whatever. I liked it. I'll be back.

Tonight I've got 5:30pm yoga on the schedule with a new-to-me instructor. Can't wait to see what she'll have in store for me.

I checked the Podrunner website this morning and founds the Intervals sessions BPM charts. I discovered that I've only got 5 more sessions before I hit the 20 minute continous run. I'm excited and nervous!

I've got a whole list of fitness classes on my calendar for my days off. I'm not sure how many of them I'll hit, but I'll keep you posted. Also Week Four starts Sunday! Excited!

Through July 1, 2010

Tuesday afternoon I did finally make it to the Tuesday 5:30pm yoga. It's the same instructor as Tuesday & Thursday mornings, so she was happy to see me back for another session. We did a routine with Pigeon Pose and with a pose she referred to as a three legged male dog at a fire hydrant. A variation of down dog, I imagine you can figure the rest out.

The heat early this week affected our sleep, and by Tuesday night I was Wiped Out. It also cooled down Tuesday night, so I was able to get some really good sleep.

A lot of really good sleep, actually. I ended up missing my morning time slot for intervals. I had a half day at work, so I had lunch with SweetPea followed by a nice, long nap. I did my intervals about 8:30 that night to avoid the worst of the day's heat. It was pretty nice, actually.

Except for the part with the dogs. But they were ok. Funny how so many dogs are sure loud and showy until they get right up on you and they don't really know what to do after that. Dogs aren't a problem at 4:30 in the morning.

Podrunner Intervals, Week Three, Day Two looks like this: 3.84km, 25:59 minutes, pace average 6:46 minutes per km.

Today is bracketed with yoga. I did the 5:30am yoga this morning and I plan to hit the 7pm yoga tonight. As much as I love my am instructor, I enjoy the variety of different instructors. I like the Thursday night instructor's routine, and she seems to be pretty regular with what she does.

Tomorrow I get to put Week Three of Intervals to bed and I am so excited.

I'm off a few days next week and I've already spent some time finding various fitness classes I can fit in during times I'm usually at work. I'm excited! I think this means I've finally & officially turned to The Dark Side because I'm loading my Staycation with workouts. Ha.

Which brings me to a pertinent question:

How much yoga in one day is too much? Is there such a thing?

Really.

PS: I'll have a June Challenge Wrap Up post in the next few days.

Good morning, Tuesday!

Yesterday: Podrunner Intervals, Week Three, Day One looks like this: 3.30km, 26:12 minutes, pace average 7:57 minutes per km.

Today: Tuesday Morning Yoga, (hopefully) Tuesday Afternoon Yoga

Weigh in: 276, down two pounds since last week.

Which is not surprising, because I did slack off. I only got to yoga once and I wasn't as strict on the eating as I should have been. I can think of a couple of glaring examples.

I'm grateful there was still a loss, even if I'd rather it was four pounds and not just two. Two is better than none and far superior to a gain.

I've had tons of things working in my mind to write about, but little time to get down to writing. Hopefully I'll have a couple of meaty posts for you soon.

This week is for week three of intervals & back to yoga, hopefully four times.

Next week I'm off a couple of days, and I'm already imagining the fun workout classes I can take with my free time.

Does this mean I've finally turned to The Dark Side?

Heh.
