I ~~threatened~~ raised the possibility I might post another photo from the same tree which was in yesterday’s photo. While that is true, yesterday’s leaves had already fallen on the ground, and today’s are still on the tree, so it’s pretty much entirely different. Yep.

Again, this photo was taken in the parking lot of Santiam Memorial Hospital on 10th Ave.

Okay, so… see, here’s the thing. There are still some autumn leaves hanging around on the trees. And I happened to be face-to-face with this tree in the parking lot of Santiam Memorial Hospital on 10th Ave. yesterday. And of course I had my camera. And I feel like starting another sentence with the word ‘and.’ And another.

Anyway, so here’s another autumn leaves photo. I may or may not post another tomorrow. It may even from the same tree. I make no promises.

Yesterday, I received an email from frequent guest photographer Hugo (the last two days’ photos are from him) saying “if’n y’all get desperate for another daily photo” I could post this one. Like I would pass this up. It’s awesome.

Sunrise At Wirth Lake

Today is part two of guest photographer Hugo’s sunset/sunrise photos (see yesterday’s sunset) from Wirth Lake in nearby Salem. He says:

The “star” in the sunrise photo is actually the planet Venus, which is currently making its presence known in the early morning. I use Stellarium to locate the stars and planets. It’s a free program that is very cool.

Guest photographer Hugo sent in today’s photo of a sunset from a few nights ago, taken at Walter Wirth Lake in nearby Salem. It’s simply gorgeous. Tomorrow I’ll post another photo Hugo took at the lake, this time of the sunrise and a “star.”

I didn’t set out to take another sunset photo, but this was staring me in the face two nights ago, so I had to take the picture.

Mushroom Mystery

Guest photographer Jon Goodman sent in today’s photo of a mushroom he found at North Santiam Park up the canyon (Lyons area), and he has a question:

Found some really big, cool mushrooms (toadstools?) on a walk at North Santiam Park today. Some had been nibbled on. Anybody know what kind these are?

Anyone know? I’m curious myself. Please leave a comment below if you can solve the puzzle.

Yesterday’s City Daily Photo theme day was “doorways.” I posted a non-traiditional doorway then, so I thought I’d post a normal doorway today.

This is the entrance to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, a catholic church on 6th Ave., which was built in 1951, according to the inscription on the front of the building.
