The final ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament of the season comes from Paris, as the world's best tennis players look for vital ranking points in the race for the year-ending Barclays ATP World Tour Finals at London's The O₂ arena.

With only this event before the eight highest-ranked men on the tour compete in the show-piece tournament, there are just two berths up for grabs.

Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Juan Martin del Potro and Andy Roddick have all secured their spots in England. A massive seven players are still in contention for the right to participate - Nikolay Davydenko, Fernando Verdasco, Robin Soderling, Fernando Gonzalez, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Radek Stepanek and Marin Cilic all face a nervous week as they try to secure their ticket, although Davydenko and Verdasco are firmly in the driving seat as they hold the final two spots and healthy points advantages over their rivals; indeed, both Stepanek and Cilic would have to win the whole tournament just to be in with a slim chance of qualifying.

Play the international football prediction competition for £100 free bet

Pick an accumulator for free and you could win a £100 free bet in this weekend's prediction competition.

We've got ourselves a roll-over as no-one predicted correctly last weekend so the usual £50 prize has been doubled.

All we're asking you to do, for a chance to win £100 in free bets, is predict the outcome of as many or as few of our selection of this weekend's international games including .

Jamie to become Simon’s sacrifical lamb

There wasn't a viewer in the world who didn't have an opinion about the controversial goings on of last week in X Factor and there will be many this week baying for the blood of the two young lads now symbolising everything wrong with the show, John and Edward who are 9/4 to get the boot.

Public outcry has reached unbelievable proportions with all the tabloids, daytime television shows and Facebook users all clubbing together to unite in their disgust about what Simon Cowell has turned X Factor in to, by taking the vote to deadlock as a result of which, Lucie was eliminated.

As we have always said, this is NOT a singing contest, but a popularity show that involves singing and it can be argued that why didn't people vote for Lucie if they wanted her in so much? It was down to the public she left, not the terrible twins who although widely loathed have brought the show in to the public eye hugely and you've got to hand it to Cowell - what a marketing genius.

This week though, the public may have their revenge and stay away from the lines to keep Jedward in and the 9/4 about them going will be snapped up like a limited edition bag in the first minute of the January sales.

Believe it or not though, they are not favourites to go. No, that honour is bestowed on Lloyd who looked almost as gobsmacked as everyone else last week when he found out he'd escaped the bottom two but you can't underestimate the power of a loyal fan base in these shows and 6/4 looks a little skinny for him to go, especially if he is in bottom two against Jedward where deadlock would most likely be Lloyd's friend.

Both these two sets will probably (as usual) struggle this week as it's Queen (the band not the monarch) week which means big voices, lots of charisma and the butchering of some absolute classics.

Olly at 25/1 to go looks safe although in our opinion is starting to look a bit skinny at 7/4 to win the whole thing, while Joe (20/1 to go) will also be safe. Stacey is our idea of a winner now at odds of 5/1 (or 8/1 to be eliminated this week) as she is the only girl left and looks a shoe in for the final at the least, although Cowell has made it known he wants a male winner so we're sure he can concoct that somehow.

After his blip a couple of weeks ago Danyl (12/1) looks set to stay with a voice easily good enough to be in the final two which just leaves us with Jamie Afro who at 7/2 is go looks like he may soon have had his day.

He's about as rock and roll as a UKIP conference led by Kilroy, and while he is likeable and can perform, his voice is weaker than Danyl's and he is not as entertaining as Olly which leaves him very vulnerable indeed.

The public who are baying for some kind of retribution after last week may overlook Jedward and instead concentrate on getting rid of one of Simon's acts, while conspiracy theorists may suspect that Cowell will willingly sacrifice one of his own to not only get back some credibility but to keep the twins in the show longer.

You can bet your bottom dollar too that should one of Simon's acts end up in the bottom two, Cheryl , Louie and Dannii will have no interest in helping him out and the advice is that Lloyd will survive so take your pick out of the twins at 9/4 to go or the Afro at 7/2 with marginal preference for Jamie as the British public seek to put Simon in his place, while if you're fancying a dabble in the winner's market, Stacey at 5/1 looks the call.

Bank on Duval to pull off some magic at Disney

In what is potentially such a crucial tournament where players look to retain their Tour cards punters may be stunned by the face we are putting up David Duval to get competitive in the Children's Miracle Network Classic.

It is common knowledge that for those already safe for next season that this is often many a players' favourite tournament as it is played on the Palm and Magnolia courses at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida meaning it is a wonderful weekend out for all the family.

Looking at Duval's record this year, punters would most likely rather be on Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck caddying than the American but at 200/1, we expect a big show from a man who has clearly lost his way.

Backing Duval is a move done purely on the reasoning that he often seems to come good when he needs to and this former Open champion has won this tournament back in 1997 and from nowhere this year came 2^nd in the US Open to show he can still do it and to retain his tour card a big performance is needed here and at a course he can play on 200/1 is a price worth taking.

"Pull your head out the clouds and give us a realistic runner" I hear you cry, so to bring us back down to earth (although why would you want to be when we're at Disneyland), we are overlooking market leaders Zach Johnson (14/1) and Justin Leonard (16/1) who look a little short, as does wonderkid Rickie Fowler (20/1) and attentions are put on to Heath Slocum (25/1).

Slocum seems to like playing in Florida which is often key to a golfer's performance (the liking of an area not Florida specifically), and has played well here in the past, most notably with a finish of 9 in 2007 and has proved he can close a tournament by winning The Barclays and has looked in good nick for the most part recently so looks sure to be in the mix at 25/1.

Interestingly in this tournament, nearly all the winners are American (9 of last 12) and half of the last 12 winners have been priced at 50/1 or over and at this course putting has often been the key thing to get right so step forward 66/1 chance, Chris Riley.

Riley's form has picked up in the second half of the season having made the cut in his last nine outings which includes a top 10 and three further top 20 finishes. He is tenth in the putting stats and those looking for someone who fits the bill perfectly for a typical winner of this tournament need look no further.

This is the last event on the PGA Tour and a last chance for many to still be in action with the big boys next season so expect frayed nerves and late surges on the final day and hopefully you will be celebrating along with Micky, Donald and Mr Duval that you have backed a 200/1 winner.

There's plenty of previews on the Podcast, as well. Andy Holding, a master of the racing game, has a glance at the meetings at Taunton and Wolverhampton and looks ahead to what promises to be a fascinating three day meeting at Cheltenham, focusing on the Greatwood Hurdle on Sunday.
