McCoy’s Premier League Darts: table, fixtures and results

This year William Hill are proud to announce that they have become the official betting partner of the Premier League. Since the tournament started in 2005 Phil 'THE POWER' Taylor has been the dominant force, however despite dominating the league table in 2011 he met his match in the play-off semi-final going down to the 2011 PDC World Champion Adrian Lewis. Lewis looked set to grab the title, however, Scotman Gary Anderson had other ideas and his 10-4 victory in the 2011 final came as a shock not only to himself, but to everyone at the Wembley Arena.

2012 looks set to be another competitive year with eight of the biggest names from the PDC circuit battling it out for the top four play-off spaces. The tournament will begin at the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester on February 9, and will finish at The O2 Arena in London on May 17. To keep track here at William Hill will be providing you, the punter, a comprehensive and up to date results table which will run alongside our betting coverage of each and every game. Pre-match, In-play, outright as well as special markets will be available for the Premier League event and we are hoping that 2012 can produce a standard of darts similar, if not better, to what we have become accustomed to over the past few years.

The format of the Premier League is simple. Every player plays the other twice in this league tournament. The matches are played as best of 14 legs, meaning the possibility of a 7-7 draw exists for which the players share a point each - two points are awarded for a win.

At the end of the league, the top four will compete in two semi-finals; the winners of these will play for the title.

It’s United, you’ll pay the penalty Liverpool

In the lunch-time clash on Saturday, Man Utd take on Liverpool in what is always a feisty affair. The Merseyside team will be desperate to take all three points after their stalemate against Spurs on Monday. The Man Utd win is 19/20, the draw is 21/10 and the away victory is 10/3.

Liverpool may have struggled in recent seasons but this is still a massive fixture for United. The fans despise each other and the hostility is usually picked up by the players. Both teams have home grown stars and the likes of Carragher and Gerrard for Liverpool and Scholes for United, know how important the game is to the local community.

Man Utd look a big price at 19/20 considering that they have home advantage. However, Liverpool have won four of the last seven league games against Man Utd overall and they also beat the Red Devils in the FA Cup two weeks ago.

Liverpool to win draw no bet is 2/1 and you can back them to win or draw at 17/20. Dalglish is likely to have watched United play against Chelsea last week and he will realise that United are weak at the back.

Rio Ferdinand is not the player of old and Jonny Evans looks good amongst better players. Liverpool will play on the counter attack and they have some cracking attacking players. Gerrard has scored four goals in his last five Premier League appearances against United. He is 10/3 to score anytime in the match.

He also takes all the set-pieces and he is back to full fitness. Man Utd had two penalties against Chelsea last week and another two awarded to them, when they played Stoke. To the neutral, it probably appears that Man United have a twelfth man or they go down easily and that is probably correct.

Referees love awarding penalties against the opposition at Old Trafford and it is 10/3 for a penalty to be awarded and scored. The Match Winner is Liverpool's Gerard OR United's Rooney to score a penalty at 4/1.

Fergy admitted he made a mistake by not starting Hernandez against Chelsea last week. He has scored in the final ten minutes of the last two Premier League games against Man Utd. He is 5/1 to score the last goal of the game.

If we take a look at the card markets, a red card looks too short at 12/5 but Over 6 Cards at 8/5 looks a possibility. There is the potential feud on the pitch between Evra and Suarez, if it does heat over, there could be plenty of cards.

There were hat-tricks scored in both meetings in the league last season, Berbatov (40/1) for United at Old Trafford and Dirk Kuyt (100/1) for Liverpool at Anfield. The most likely player to score a hat-trick could be Rooney at 20/1. He is a player for big occasions and as an Everton fan, he would love nothing more than sticking three goals past their arch-rivals.

The jury is definitely out after England's less than convincing win over Scotland but Stuart Lancaster's men have a great opportunity on Saturday to take their man to the top of the list of contenders.

At present Hills offer 6/4 that he gets the job full-time and 1/2 that he does not.

Italy are 10/3 outsiders with England 2/9 favourites to win, whilst the handicap gives England an eight point start.
