England are largely friendless for the Six Nations with William Hill pushing their price out to 9/2 to lift the trophy from an original 3/1. England are 4/6 to beat Scotland at the weekend with the Handicap giving them just a two point head-start. Chris Ashton suggests that he will not celebrate scoring a try with Swallow dive but Hills offer 7/1 that he cannot resist & goes back on his word. Six Nations: £17,600 Says England Bashed By Scotland

William Hill have taken one of their biggest ever Six Nations bets, after a customer in Devon wagered £17,600 on Scotland at 10/11 with a four point handicap head-start.

As a result Hills have trimmed Scotland from 6/4 to 11/8 to win the game with the handicap now three points. Should the bet win then he will collect a cool £33,600.

"The customer, who wishes to remain anonymous, is reinvesting his winning after placing £8,000 on Pakistan to beat England in the second test," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.

Early indications from William Hill suggest that the 2012 Six Nations is set to be the closest and biggest turnover event in its history. Hills odds indicate that interim coach Stuart Lancaster will go with Tom Wood, who is the 11/4 favourite to be made Captain with uncapped Owen Farrell 2/5 favourite to step into Jonny Wilkinson's boots and start at number ten.

Lancaster 7/2 to get permanent job

William Hill rate England as joint 11/4 second favourites to win the Six Nations with Wales, behind France who are the 7/4 favourites.

With so many uncapped players named in the squad Hills offer 1/1 that two or three of the starting fifteen against Scotland will be uncapped, with 16/1 on offer for Six or more debutants. Despite the attacking nature of the squad Hills do not expect England to score more tries than the thirteen they managed in 2011, offering 2/7 that they score 13 or less and 5/2 they produce fourteen or more.

Should Stuart Lancaster have a blinder Hills are 7/2 that the RFU give the interim coach the role on a permanent basis.
