Harakiri

Based in the bowels of Indianapolis, Harakiri has been corrupting
the Indiana metal scene since 1997. The name of the game is brutal,
intelligent, death metal. Brutal live shows and powerful, recordings
have earned Harakiri a reputation as a major force in the Indy
metal scene. Harakiri's three demos show the transition from their
early metal/hardcore beginnings to their current death metal realm.
Available is the debut cd release, "Reverence For Madness", which
contains 8 songs of violent death metal insanity, the 6 song
mini-cd released on Cyberdine 243, "Virtuous Symptoms" and the new
full-length, "Twilight of the Idols" released on Willowtip. The Harakiri sound comes from a wide array of
influences including all varieties of death, grind, black metal,
hardcore, and malt liquor.

Skin peeling vocal screams, bowel loosening bass, crushing
downtuned guitars, and blasting drums make up the instrumentation.
The sound has been described as fast as fuck death metal that is
sometimes technical, sometimes slightly melodic, but always heavy
as fuck. Harakiri will shove the knife right into your fucking gut!

Nathan - Bass

Leng Tch'e

LENG TCH'E aka death by a thousand cuts, is an ancient Chinese torture ritual where the victim has been doped up and is being cut into bits. The victim doesn't feel a thing of this procedure until it is far too late and death is unavoidable.

LENG TCH'E the band formed in early 2001, founded by Sven (drums (ABORTED)), Isaac (vocals (BBB, PERMANENT DEATH)), Kevin (Bass) and Glen (guitars (DARK AGES)).

Basing their own hybrid of grindcore on bands such as REGURGITATE, HEMDALE, NASUM and BLOOD DUSTER and mixing it all up with some stoner / rock / hardcore influences, the band baptized their own unique style, now known as 'razorgrind'.

The past two years have seen the band work through a number of line up changes before finally solidifying into its current incarnation of Sven (drums), Boris (vocals (SUPPOSITORY)), Nikki G (guitars), The Spleenventer (guitars (SPLEEN)) and Nicolas (bass). The quintet have recorded two albums that have been released by The Spew Records in Europe. Noted underground label Willowtip issued the much talked about Man Made Predator in the USA most recently.

LENG TCH'E then signed a deal with Relapse Records for their new album, The Process Of Elimination. This album was recorded in the CCR studios in Belgium and was mixed / mastered by Tue Madsen at the Antfarm studios in Denmark (MNEMIC, ABORTED, THE HAUNTED, HATESPHERE). On the new album, hooks that sink into your brain accompany some of the fastest and most extreme grind to emerge in years as LENG TCH'E prove that grindcore can continue to evolve, while staying true to its formative roots. This is the new sound of extreme - don't be left behind

BIOGRAPHY:
The band has existed since 1993 with sole members/brothers Jason and Jordan, when they started Jason (guitars) was 13 and Jordan (drums) was 9, I know that is hard to believe but ask anyone who knows us...when these songs were recorded, Jordan was 14... I know you wont believe me, but its true... We have been a fully functioning line up since 1995 and put out a CD in early 1997 entitled Reality Only Fantasized... now Capharnaum has regrouped in Florida and we have our NEW CD out!!

After recording "Fractured" we shopped it to a few labels and Willowtip seemed to be the best choice!

"Fractured" was recorded at Jason Suecof's own AudioHammer Studios (Monstrosity, Trivium) and contains 8 tracks that are extremely well written and catchy while displaying unparelled musicianship and technicality.

Necrophagist

  Hannes Grossmann - Drums
Stefan Fimmers - Bass
Muhammed Suicmez - Guitar / Vocals

NECROPHAGIST was founded in early 1992 to integrate the fury of
grinding, fast death metal with progressive music. Shortly after
the band formed they entered the studio and recorded their first
demo tape entitled 'Requiems of Festered Gore.' 'Requiems of
Festered Gore' was never released to the masses as it was sent out
solely for promotional reasons in an attempt to help the band
secure gigs.

In 1995, NECROPHAGIST re-entered the studio and recorded a
self-titled, follow-up demo. The demo's impact sent shock waves
through the European underground death metal scene, which helped
NECROPHAGIST not only establish their gruesome name, but allowed
the band to play numerous shows all over Europe. Soon NECROPHAGIST
was recognized as one of the leading bands in the growing
underground progressive/technical death metal scene.

In 1999, NECROPHAGIST recorded their self-released, full-length
debut 'Onset of Putrefaction.' Despite the limited number of copies
that were made, 'Onset of Putrefaction' only solidified the growing
reputation that NECROPHAGIST had started with their self-titled
demo. Soon, NECROPHAGIST became the standard for progressive death
metal. Uniting influences from different styles, including
classical music, 'Onset of Putrefaction' showcased NECROPHAGIST's
demanding dexterity, inhuman brutality and fury.

With 'Onset of Putrefaction' NECROPHAGIST reanimated the brutal
death metal genre that many had left for dead. 'Onset of
Putrefaction' actually became an influence for hordes of young
musicians and fledgling European death metal bands. The
overwhelming response to 'Onset of Putrefaction' helped
NECROPHAGIST secure highly sought after support slots with such
extreme music luminaries as CANNIBAL CORPSE, NAPALM DEATH and
SINISTER. This attention further blossomed into NECROPHAGIST's
appearance at numerous festivals, including the Fuck The Commerce
in Germany, the legendary Brutal Assault in the Czech Republic and
the Maryland Deathfest in the United States.

Creation Is Crucifixion

Creation is Crucifixion was formed in early 1997 in Pittsburgh, PA. The goal of this grouping was to combine the experiments being conducted by the Carbon Defense League tactical media arts group with current Critical Theory analysis. The result being a maximum interdisciplinary experience through a revived cyberpunk-esque mechanism that was seen as lacking in the punk/hardcore scene at the time. The original lineup, while completing noise projects and experimentations alongside more structured sounds, began working with the highly respected King of the Monsters Records(Man is the Bastard, The Locust, Reversal of Man, Puritan, Suicide Nation, Prevail,...) from Phoenix, AZ. It was on this label that CIC released their first 7" "Dethrone or Devour." Recording was sloppy, but the fire was lit. Creation is Crucifixion had put a stake in the ground claiming allegiance to a new breed of techno theory / noise/ metal / media activism.

Creation spent the next 8 months working on their first full length "In_Silico" originally released on King of the Monsters in 1998 and later by Cyberdine243 and finally remastered and rereleased by Scorched Earth Policy in 2000. This was followed up with a release on Willowtip Records; a split 7" with Fate of Icarus. This was the first release by Willowtip Records, a label that has grown tremendously in size and now serves as one of the premiere grind labels in the U.S. Creation was quick to release a second split 7" on Cyberdine243 with Suicide Nation. This was another first release for a record label that continues to gain recognition for their lineup. These releases then fed into several tours. The first tour was over a month long in the summer of 1998. CIC was accompanied on this tour by Suicide Nation. Then came a short winter tour in 1998/99 with Fate of Icarus. Following this tour, Creation began to write and record for a split 7" with Unruh also released through Willowtip Records, as well as a 4 song EP "Automata". "Automata" was more of a showcase of CIC's noise and experimental ability's than any of their previous work. "Automata" came into being originally as a release by Cyberdine243 in 1999, until the release was bought by Willowtip Records to gain better distribution. CIC's second summer tour was another month long U.S. tour in the summer of 2000. In that same year, Creation went back into the studio to rerecord the songs from their 3 split 7"'s, released as a clear miniCD through Willowtip Records in early 2001. It was in this year that Creation completed another small winter tour as well as a month long U.S. tour, only to then pack up and make their first trek to Europe in May 2001.

In Germany, CIC recorded for what would be there seminal release to date, "Child as Audience." This release was self published in book form with 3 new Creation songs, a complex array of subtle noise, voiceovers by the international critical theory group Critical Art Ensemble, and software constructed for an earlier Hactivist/CDL project. This was the first release to inaugurate the newly formed Hactivist Media portion of the organization. CIC then relocated to San Francisco, CA. In August 2001, CIC released "Destructivist;" a 71 minute noise only experiment for the group. In September,2001 Creation left SF for a 5 month tour including 2 months in Europe. In Germany, CIC recorded two new tracks for a future release on Robotic Empire..

CIC currently resides in Pittsburgh, PA, Troy, NY, and San Diego, CA. Their drummer shares time between CIC and Cattle Decapitation. New material is being written slowly and CIC is on hiatus from playing shows for the time being while they develop their new concepts.

Arsis, a musical term meaning "silence", was formed in the year 2000 by guitarist/songwriter James Malone and drummer Michael Van Dyne. Their music is the product of strong classic metal and rock influences such as Racer X, Iron Maiden, Dio, Black Sabbath, and Alice Cooper, combined with the aggressive, in-your-face influences of bands such as Morbid Angel and Death. The duo recorded two demos that gained them considerable attention in 2002, and began playing live shows shortly thereafter with the aid of fill-in musicians. This eventually led to Arsis signing with Willowtip Records in the fall of 2003.

Their debut album, "A Celebration of Guilt", was released on March 30th, 2004 and was immediately showered with rave reviews from metal press worldwide. The album, which was mixed and mastered at Hit and Run Studios in Maryland, showcases the duo's earliest material, packaged with an amazing layout courtesy of Mark Riddick. In the months following, Arsis toured the east coast, as well as parts of the southern and midwestern United States, with bands such as Misery Index, Set Ablaze, Invocation of Nehek, The Hostage Heart, Incantation, and Mortician.

By January of 2005, "A Celebration of Guilt" had won Album of the Year honors on metalreview.com, and was featured on numerous Top 10 of 2004 lists. A union between Willowtip Records and Earache Records, which took place in February of 2005, will see "A Celebration of Guilt" released throughout Europe via Earache on July 11th, 2005. In addition, Jim and Mike will be entering the recording studio this July to record "A Diamond for Disease", a mini cd that will be released on October 25th, 2005.

Commit Suicide

Commit Suicide is:
Scott Evans - vocals
Neal Andrus- guitar
Lee Fisher - drums
Dan Ford - bass

Commit Suicide was born when five people from five different walks of life came together with one objective in mind -- to lay the foundation for the most devestatingly brutal music that is physically possible.

Commit Suicide was formed with a few basic ideas in mind: 1) to enjoy themselves, 2) to not take it serioulsy, and 3) to not worry about performing live. After so many miserable attempts at taking their bands to the "next level" all of the band members had one common complaint about their previous experiences--everyone was always preoccupied with making their band the next big thing. This band was to be different--expect nothing and enjoy yourself.

A few months and nine songs later, Commit Suicide was offered its first show. At first the band was hesitant to accept this show since it seemed to compromise part of what they wanted out of this project. Then they figured what the hell. Playing one show wouldn't hurt and it could be a great time since it was with friends Burnt By The Sun.

The date was April 12, 2001, and the band entered the venue to perform what has turned out to be a career changing show for all of them. After playing a flawless set, spirits were high, and they all realized that they all missed performing. Then Willowtip Records approached the guys to ask if they would be interested in releasing their first full length CD on the record label. A little bewildered but enthusiastic, the band made their commitment to Willowtip Records.

The band entered The Mars Compound September 14, 2001, to record their debut CD Human Larvae [earthly cleansing]. The full length was engineered by Bill Korecky (Incantation, Earth Crisis, & Integrity) and has gone on to receive monumental praise in the extreme music scene. The reception of Human Larvae led to the opportunity to release a split CD with Maryland's Misery Index (ex Dying Fetus). Both of these discs have done extremely well, selling a combined 8,600 copies, exceeding everyone's expectations of a band that was still less than a year old.

While the members of the band appreciated the success of both discs, they wanted to set Commit Suicide apart from other bands. They decided a tour was in order. In July of 2002, the band embarked on their first 3-week tour with label mated Harakiri and Kalibas. Armed with equipment and enough cans of tuna to feed a third world country, the band set out to spread their vision to as many people as possible. The tour took the band to every major city up and down the east coast and the southern midwest. Suddenly Commit Suicide was being invited to prestigious festivals and clubs of vast notoriety. The band realized that to keep this machine going, the members had to maintain the same philosophy they had started out with--enjoy yourself and maintain your integrity.

In February 2004 Commit Suicide entered Watchmen Studios to record their second full-length Synthetics with Doug White (Sulaco, Kalibas, Psyopus). Synthetics, while reminiscent of their debut, showcased the musicianship of the band and took the band into a more progressive death metal genre. 2004 also proved to be a turbulent year for the band which led to the departure of their second guitarist.

In 2005 the remaining four members have decided to take a break and focus on their personal lives/projects until the time is right to reveal the next chapter of the band.

Misery Index

The band was born in the spring of 2001, by Vocalist/bassist
Jason Netherton along with Vocalist/guitarist Mike Harrison as a
studio project, with drums performed by ex-Dying Fetus drummer
Kevin Talley. "Overthrow," their debut CD was unleashed in
September of 2001 on the band's own Anarchos Records, where it
quickly drew praise and interest from underground circles with its
five song blast-thrash attack that met all expectations, and then
some. The CD was subsequently released in 2002 in Japan on Howling
Bull/Ritual Records, and in Europe on Fadeless Records. A limited
edition vinyl put out on Goodlife Recordings soon followed. The
band was then shifted to a full time project with the addition of
Sparky Voyles on guitar. Subsequently, the band's second release
was a split EP with Pittsburgh's Commit Suicide on Willowtip
records. This cd featured two new songs plus a cover of Disrupt,
and came out in the summer of 2002.

Following the recording of their second EP in March of 2002,
Mike Harrison and Kevin Talley left the band to pursue other
projects, and with the addition of Matt Byers on drums (ex-Severed
Head), Misery Index embarked on their first US tour in the summer
of 2002. Following this, 2003 saw the release of a split ep with
Arizona's Structure of Lies, and the recording of Misery Index's
debut album for Nuclear Blast, entitled "Retaliate". With the
addition of Bruce Greig on second guitar, Misery Index will be
touring extensively to promote the new album, which was released on
August 26, 2003.

Subsequently, in 2004 the band has embarked on several US and
European tours to support the "Retaliate", along with recording a
video for "The Great Depression" and releasing the bands first DVD,
which features a full live set from Greece, on their own Anarchos
Records label imprint. With the rejoining of Kevin Talley on drums
after the departure of Matt Byers in April of 2004, the band is
slated to perform sets at the Wacken, Brutal Assault, and Party San
festivals, as well as record a new EP in the summer of 2004. This
EP called "Dissent" represents a new birth for Misery Index,
further refining the sounds of 'Retaliate' and moving ahead in the
future.Look for Misery Index to be touring for "Dissent" well into
the winter/spring 2005.

The Music

The music of Misery Index combines the most intense elements of
metal with a distinct grind approach, added with a touch of
hardcore and extreme punk attitude and passion, thus pushing the
limits of metal with an insane mix of regressive thrashing rhythms,
corrupting breakdowns and energetic ferocity. Misery Index sets no
limits in their goal of making metal and grind flow together in
boundless punishing assaults designed to modernize the classic
death and grind metal of the early 90's, drawing influence from
Brutal Truth, Disrupt, Morbid Angel, Napalm Death, Terrorizer, His
Hero is Gone, Bolt Thrower, Assuck and Entombed.

The imagery and lyrical concepts are also very critical to the
band, and one can expect that in the true nature of the genre,
Misery Index will catapult their ideology and anger to the
forefront, and shove the sickness and hypocrisy of this planet
right back in the face of all who so quietly accept the status
quo…and have fun at the same time.

Crotchduster

Crotchduster exists for one reason and one reason only. Tax fraud.
I know you were expecting something like "To put out the most bone
crushing, devestatingly brutal music ever in the history of man"
or, "To bring about an end to the lies of Christ with music spawned
in the lowest depths of hell, and lyrics written for us by the goat
lord himself." No, no. Thats just ridiculous and silly, and quite
frankly beneath us. But hiding income from the government, well hot
damn, thats a worthwhile persuit. How does our Ponzi scheme work ?
I'll tell you (And by "you'' I mean "you, and thats it." You go
blabbing this to anyone else, and by Lucifer's beard I swear I'll
tell the guys in Black Witchery what you said about their sexual
identity.). To grasp our financial secrets you have to know
Williams. Williams is the only human (that we know of) capable of
inter-dimensional travel. Like any good capitalist Williams used
this ability for greed amd plunder. He found a dimension (The real
name of it is unknown. Williams insists we call it
Williamsburgland. He's sort of self important that way.) that at
one time had been the pinnacle of advancement. This came to a
screeching hault when they ran out of the one substance they use
for everything. (Combine all the uses we have for water and
petroleum, and you'll get an idea of the importance of this liquid
to them.) This is a classic case of demand waiting for a supply. He
told us (Crotchduster) of this opportunity, and at our urging he
brought us back soil and air samples (He's not scientifically
inclined like we are, the only reason he can travel
inter-dimensionally is because he's got a PhD in dumptruck
mechanics and he just blasted his way there.) From these we were
able to reconstruct the cellular make-up of this mysterious liquid.
I'd tell you what it is, but screw you, find your own dimension of
people to exploit. Lets just say that one of the ingrediants is
ground up goat teeth, and all their goats are extinct due to a
shift in atmospheric pressure on account of the universe expanding
the way it does. Now, here's the crux of the whole matter. We make
this liquid (which we call Mammal Sauce) and we give it to
Williams. Williams takes it (along with a dumptruck full of paying
tourists) to Williamsburgland, and sells it for a price that would
make you gag. He takes 50% of the profits, and deposits our 50% in
an inter-dimensional account (the exchange rate between currencies
is roughly even.) Beats the hell out of an off shore tax shelter.
How the hell do you trace money across dimensions? You don't, thats
how. So whenever we need some dough we just mix up a batch of
Mammal Sauce, give Williams a couple withdrawl slips, and await his
return. To keep ourselves busy we write music. The writing process
for Crotchduster is very unique. See, inter-dimensional travel puts
quite a strain on Williams' brain. It upsets his brain's chemical
balance, screws with his central nervous system, and gives him
temporary clairvoyance. In short, he goes stark raving mad.(Thats
why we send Cain with him. Somebody's got to drive the truck while
Williams is incapacitated. Plus, Cain writes down everything
Williams says during these episodes. These mad ramblings later
become Chrotchduster's lyrics.) So, our music has to be as crazy
and disjointed as the lyrics. And, because of the temporary
clairvoyance, every song we've ever written has fit perfectly with
the lyrics we recieved upon Williams' return. The recording
techniques we use are unique as well. We only use one mic, and our
multitrack is 16 two track machines from 1957 synched together with
a stopwatch and some telephone cord. Most of the music is written,
performed, and recorded by Fornicus and Slippery Jim. Cain's
expertise really shines through during the mixdown process. Being a
dog allows Cain to hear into frequency ranges that we, as humans,
cannot. Although we cant hear them, these frequencies have octaves
that color the things we can hear. So, all we had to do was teach
Cain how to use the console and all the outboard gear. So, to
recap. Williams gets rich off our Mammal Sauce. We get rich off his
ability to travel to other dimensions. We also get lyrics for
Crotchduster. (which is nothing more than a cover for us to portray
ourselves as "starving artists" so we can continue to claim the
Earned Income Credit on our tax returns.) Nobody pays taxes on any
of this money, and we save a dying dimension in the process. Beats
the holy hell out of any other crappy ass reason for making music.
Except pussy. Thats still the best reason ever.

ION DISSONANCE have kept busy most of 2004 by relentlessly touring
all over the U.S. and Canada in support of their debut record
Breathing Is Irrelevant. With a productive year behind
them, all signs point to 2005 as being even bigger and better for
the Montreal-based quintet. The band's future plans are to tour and
play as much as possible, so expect to see them soon in a town near
you with their sophomore release set to destroy audiences shortly
thereafter. They will be hitting the road in April, touring all
over Canada with Premonitions of War and Despised Icon, followed by
several dates in the U.S., including The New England Metal and
Hardcore Fest and the Maryland Death Fest, after which they will be
touring the states again in June with From a Second Story Window,
Reflux and On Broken Wings. ION DISSONANCE will be recording their
upcoming debut album on Abacus Recordings, entitled Solace, during
the entire month of May with producer Pierre Rémillard
(Cryptopsy, Krisiun, The End). Breathing is
Irrelevant was just a prelude of the destruction to come… with
Solace, prepare yourself for the next logical step in brutal music.

Circle Of Dead Children

Joe Horvath and Jason Andrews remain as the founding members of
CIRCLE OF DEAD CHILDREN, formed on Halloween, 1998, on the southern
'skirts of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The groups' intention was to
spray the local scene with their method of limitless bombing
grindcore, forgetting everything outside of punk rock ideals,
self-satisfaction and "maybe releasing a seven-inch someday".
Countless lineup changes and an infamous string of obstacles have
been encountered and ultimately destroyed from day one and CODC
continue to push forward the boundaries of extreme music worldwide,
here seven years later, in 2005.

CIRCLE OF DEAD CHILDREN represent the audio end times, a
psychotic fast-forward nightmare into the sonic ash-heaps of
humanity. CODC are, as noted by press, the ultimate
anti-everything band; anti-life, anti-death, anti-world, anti-music
and anti-you. Critically acclaimed for lyrical concept and prose
as much for their hyper-extreme approach to sound, CODC possess the
ability to both wretch and annihilate the listener as well rouse
and intrigue.

After quickly recording a self-titled demo cassette, the Circle
dropped "Starving the Vultures" CD/LP and "Exotic Sense Decay" CDep
on Willowtip Records in 1999, leaving the extreme metal scene with
a fresh new poison. S.O.A. Records released "Starving the
Vultures" on a limited LP and Robodog Records (now Robotic
Empire) released "Exotic Sense Decay" on limited 7" picture
disc. 2000 saw the departure of bassist Dave Good who was
replaced by long-time ally in noise, Alf Kooser. In 2001, CODC
had a foul run in with Necropolis Records who released "the
Genocide Machine" CD under their DeathVomit sub-label. The record
quickly became out-of-print (save for bootlegs rumored to be
pressed), received impressive press and went to #6 on the CMJ Loud
Music chart. Willowtip Records released "the Genocide Machine" on
a limited LP in a silver static bag, 200 hand-numbered on blue
vinyl. 2001 also saw the departure of Jon Kubacka from the second
guitar spot as well as a mini-tour with west coast allies, Phobia.
In the following year, Jon Miciolek parted from the drum set and
was replaced by Mike Rosswog. Alf Kooser then quit, leaving
arguably the worlds' most viciously savage three-piece to record
"Human Harvest" CD/LP in 2003, with production icon Steve Austin.
"Human Harvest" was licensed to Martyr Music Group (North, South,
Pan Americas) and Displeased Records (Europe/rest of World).
Rosswog was replaced on drums by Mike Bartek (Sadis
Euphoria) and the bass spot was taken by Drew Haritan
(Free Barabas, Sadis Euphoria). CODC put themselves back
in the studio, once again at Austin Enterprise. CIRCLE OF DEAD
CHILDREN is now poised to release their most mind-numbing dosage of
acidic nihilism to date; "Zero Comfort Margin", on Willowtip
Records.

Alarum was formed in 1992 by drummer Matt and joined soon after
guitarist Mark was recruited. Originated more in the Death metal
style, they gigged in Melbourne, released the "Another World" demo
1994, and later recorded a track for DEF Records' "Death Down
Under" compilation CD in 1995. Later that year, Scott Young
(Guitar) and Mark Palfreyman (Bass) joined the band. New material
was written, incorporating fresher influences and in late 1997,
Alarum recorded it's first CD "Fluid Motion". 8 tracks of
death/thrash/jazz-metal.

Shows around Australia followed the 'release' of the CD, as well as
a film clip for the track Realization being aired on Rage &
Channel V. The track was also included on JJJ's Full Metal Racket
compilation CD. Performances at Metal For The Brain, Overcranked
and other metal festivals have also been some of the bands
highlights. The music has developed over the years including
elements of different styles of metal with some jazz/fusion
inspired sections. Offering a different sound, live performance and
outlook than most other bands, all members of the band enjoy
writing and performing the music that they do.

Cephalic Carnage

Formed in Denver, Colorado in 1992, CEPHALIC CARNAGE set out to
break down musical barriers by raising both the expectations and
standards of extremity in heavy music. A unique musical hybrid,
CEPHALIC CARNAGE thrives on integrating various experimental
aspects into their unique, forward-thinking musical style.

In 1993, founding members Lenzig (vocals) and Zac Joe (guitar)
recorded and released their first demo, 'Scrape My Lungs.' Although
the recording was well-circulated in the underground, the band
split up soon afterwards. In 1996, CEPHALIC CARNAGE reformed and
added members John Merryman (drums) and Steve Goldberg (guitar).
The infusion of new blood into the CEPHALIC ranks kicked things
into high gear for the band and only two months after the new
lineup had been together, a second demo, titled 'Fortuitous
Oddity,' was recorded and released. A four-piece at the time of the
recording, the band was stronger than ever as the duel-guitar
onslaught merged effortlessly with extremely technical drumming and
Lenzig's wildly schizophrenic vocal attack. The word was out,
andCEPHALIC CARNAGE were making a name for themselves. The band hit
the road for a self-financed U.S. tour in the fall of 1997,
alerting many to the unbelievable intensity of the CEPHALIC CARNAGE
live show.

In 1998, CEPHALIC released their debut album, Conforming To
Abnormality. 'Conforming...' unveiled a style of extreme music that
was completely original in its makeup: blending mind-melting guitar
technicality with inhuman drumming, varied vocal assaults,
smatterings of jazz sensibilities and devastating sub-bass drops.
The level of musicianship displayed on Conforming To Abnormality'
was critically-acclaimed upon the album's release. CEPHALIC CARNAGE
then added bassist Jawsh Mullen to the fold and hit the road in
support of the album. A crushing set at the 1998 Milwaukee
Metalfest cemented the band's name in the minds of music fans and
journalists and verified all accounts of their (now) legendary live
performances as the band laid waste to Metalfest attendees with one
of the best sets of the entire festival. The band also appeared at
the 1999 Dallas Grindfest, the 1999 March Metal Meltdown, the 1999
Ohio Deathfest, the 1999 Denver Hatefest, the 1999 Milwaukee
Metalfest and the 1999 November To Dismember, stopping at nothing
to bring their futuristic sounds to the masses.

Soon following, CEPHALIC joined the Relapse Records family. The
band's initiation consisted of joining labelmates SOILENT GREEN,
TODAY IS THE DAY, EXHUMED and MORGION on the Relapse 1999
Contamination Tour . In December, 1999, CEPHALIC entered New
Orleans' Festival Studios with producer Keith Falgout (SOILENT
GREEN, CROWBAR, ACID BATH) and recorded their Relapse debut,
Exploiting Dysfunction. Destroying parameters, CEPHALIC CARNAGE
stupefied and astounded with 'Exploiting Dysfunction,' blending and
configuring styles of music with surgical precision. Shortly after
the mastering of 'Exploiting...' a U.S. tour with
labelmates THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, showcased two of extreme
music's most forward-thinking and jaw-dropping live acts. CEPHALIC
then lit up the crowd at the 2002 SXSW Festival in Austin, TX
(alongside labelmates MASTODON, HIGH ON FIRE and ALABAMA
THUNDERPUSSY), debuting new material in front of a crowd of
unsuspecting music fans.

In 2002, CEPHALIC CARNAGE unveiled 'Lucid Interval,' a high-impact
dose of unique sound(s) combining various styles of heavy music
with elements of jazz-fusion and an ultra-keen sense of
progression. Bending genres with wild counter-rhythms, exceptional
musicianship and hairpin twists and turns, CEPHALIC CARNAGE
accelerated their creativity while delivering a thought-provoking
eye-opening to the musical status quo. Press accolades poured in
upon the album's release and the band hit the tour trail yet
again.

CEPHALIC returned to SXSW in March, 2003 as one of the featured
acts of the Relapse Records Showcase. The band then hit the road as
part of the Relapse Records North American Contamination Tour 2003
(with labelmates MASTODON, UPHILL BATTLE and DYSRHYTHMIA) before
joining up with SHADOWS FALL and HATEBREED for U.S. treks. CEPHALIC
kicked off 2004 with a European tour with labelmates EXHUMED and
followed that up with a Euro trek with MACABRE.

CEPHALIC CARNAGE's Anomalies is set for a March, 2005 release date
via Relapse. You've heard the hype - find out what its all
about!

Zac Joe: Guitar
John Merryman: Drums

I can't remember what I was on but I was on something , Blair was
passing out and falling over tables way before we even went on and
Matt and Kurt were being typical drunk rednecks in an uproar , so
we hit the stage , oh yhea I snorted a bunch of coke , that was it
, any way we start playing Kurt has this borrowed 5150 peavy piece
of shit that sounded gay, I'm on the floor getting barrelled over
by a three man moshpit (mosh pits with less people hurt more cause
of the running room) Kurt had completly abandoned trying to play
his guitar and instead was pissing about with torturing feedback
while i got slammed in the back by a flying knee for the fourteenth
time , Blair sarted kicking the monitors off the stage and throwing
the mic stands at the floor and eventually couldn't stand up so he
just slumped over and mumbled into the mic kurt decided to kick
blair full force in the ribs which snapped blair into a manic rage
and he grabbed kurt and flipped him over his back off the stage and
onto some people, at this point the soundguy came running up and
started unplugging the amps , matt starts freaking out and starts
throwing his large drum sticks at him , at this point all hell
broke loose , more than a few bottles and glasses hit the stage, my
bass is still plugged in so I start tossing it around and manage to
knock a table full of beer over (thankfully friends) Blair is now
completely sprawled out on stage, the sound guy is screaming at
matt while matt ignores him and plays a bunch of hits , Jesse of
Tendonitis is screaming at me and saying he will never play with us
again and there was these huge Blasphemey hoodied thugs that looked
at us like we were aliens, I don't know how it all ended for the
rest of the guys but I threw my bass at some monitors and walked
directly to the bar and asked for my free band beer , and
suprisingly , got it , this whole episode started right from the
get go and lasted about ten miniutes , I drank my beer, was
informed that we would not be playing there again , which was a
joke as we ended up on a gig a few months later , I went home
without even packing my gear and we had to come get it the next day
, I awoke the next day with clogged nostrils and a bruised back and
the realization that we were now the most unpopular band in the
local scene , horrible , horrible show , someone has this on Video
, there was a camera there recording it.

Kalibas

Kalibas, Rochester NYs premier grind band, was formed in December
of 1999 from the ashes of As the World Burns, Lethargy, A Death
between Seasons, and Shodokan. Drummer Erik Burke, guitarist Jody
Roberts, bassist Paul Pieramico and vocalist Pat Murphy began
writing material for a demo. Guitarist Greg Hermann of Inertia was
added, the writing completed, and the demo, which would later
become Eyes Forever Red, on Howling Bull America, was recorded.
After playing a few shows Greg decided to leave the band for
personal reasons, later going on to play drums for Psyopus.

Kalibas recorded three songs in a second session with Jody
handling both guitar tracks, and the band aquired Aaron Nichols on
second guitar, formerly of Golgotha and Slave One. The three tracks
from these sessions ended up on compilations, one on the Lifeless
Records label of Matt from Shadows Fall, and the other two
appearing on Max of Spazzs 625 grind attack comp. The band also
made a split cdr demo with the three songs and three farewell
tracks of Jody and Pauls previous band As The World Burns. Kalibas
then commenced on an 11 date east coast tour with Creation is
Crucifixion in may of 2001.

After the taste of the road, Kalibas entered the studio for a
third time, recording a three track demo to garner label attention
which was beginning to show itself. The three tracks were sent to
various labels and became half of a tour cdr demo, Struggling
Through Life a Minute and a Half at a Time which also included
several live tracks from a Rochester show with The Flying
Luttenbachers. Shortly after, they hit the road again with Creation
is Crucifixion, this time for 35 shows in the winter of 2001 around
the entire US.

After the two tours, Kalibas geared up for the recording of a
full length, hooking up with Willowtip records. The ten song disc
Product of Hard Living was released in June of 2002, and the band
followed up with a short 11 show east coast tour with label mates
Hara Kiri and Commit Suicide. The band decided to take a break, and
begin work on a second full length later in the year. Several shows
were played locally.

By the end of the year, Eriks growing commitment to guitar
project Sulaco and his joining Nuclear Assault left little time for
writing, and Aaron decided to concentrate on school. Jody and Pat
began working with drummer Kurt Lancaster and guitarist Matt
Colbert, started working on new material, and began setting up a
tour for the summer of 2003. After deciding to relocate to Austin,
TX at the end of the tour, Paul was replaced with Ryan Horwath on
bass.

The new Dim Mak studio CD Knives of Ice is technically
precise and aggressively profound. The record contains ten songs of
unrelenting force, and each of them channels the revolting horror
of obscure worlds into a tornado of sound. Tracks such as "Incident
at the Temple of Leng," Monolith," "Weakener," and Knives of Ice"
are instant classics of metal fury. Dim Mak draw upon elements that
made the band's members underground legends in their previous bands
(Ripping Corpse, Skinless), yet Knives of Ice is entirely
unique as it reshapes those elements into music that resembles
fatal weaponry.

Knives of Ice is the third full-length studio record from
Dim Mak; it is also the first time that Willowtip Records will
release a Dim Mak soundstorm. Knives of Ice was recorded
at Soundspa Studio in Edison, N.J., and produced by Steve DeAcutis.

Maruta was concieved in late 2005. After being in several south floridian grindcore and metal acts, founding members Mitchell Luna and Nick Augusto had the intentions of starting an abrasive grind/powerviolence band. Maruta then managed to pump out half a dozen songs and immediatey began playing shows only a mere two weeks later in the Dade/Broward county area.

A 4 song demo was released shortly thereafter. 420 copies were sold/traded/given away. Without hesitation, Maruta continued to write more material and play several out of town shows/tours. This eventually landed them a 2 album record deal with Willowtip, which is a label that happens to represent the same ideals and "foward thinking" mentatlity that Maruta has in regards to their approach to songwriting and overall taste. Needless to say, the boys felt right at home when the deal went through, and plan to tour consistently throughout their career.

To sum it all up, this group is basically four humble individuals simply doing what they love to do best: playing some fucking grind. We live it. We breathe it.

Sulaco can be seen as an evolution from guitarist Erik Burke's
previous band, Lethargy, who played a seminal role in shaping the
musical climate of Rochester's underground metal scene. Lethargy
was legendary in the Rochester area during the mid 90s for crafting
an often imitated but never duplicated style of ridiculously
intricate carnival-esque metal that showcased cross-eyed guitar
antics and blistering jazz-fusion rhythms over 10 years before it
became popular in the underground. With three demos, an album (It's
Hard To Write With A Little Hand, 1996) and their final EP
(Discography, 1999) recorded, 1999 marked the demise of Lethargy
with drummer Brann Dailor and guitarist Bill Kelliher moving on to
enlist in Today Is The Day and later form Mastodon. Wasting no time
to regroup, the multi-talented Erik Burke assumed drumming duties
in Kalibas until 2002, when he parted ways with Kalibas and
recruited Golding and Hackett to form Sulaco. Like Lethargy,
Sulaco's musical base takes its most significant cues from bands
north of the Mason-Dixon line, citing Ripping Corpse, Damonacy,
Breadwinner and Human Remains as a few of their key influences.
However, Sulaco improves upon Lethargy's haphazard sense of
structure and instead integrates the mesmerizing quirkiness into a
devious songwriting regimen that is as spasmodically progressive as
it is abrasively visceral. Sulaco's ability to seamlessly employ an
explosively direct approach to such technical material is rare when
most bands of this nature would rather noodle indiscriminately,
consequently sacrificing memorable songwriting for aimless
masturbation. Such intrinsic fluidity defines Sulaco as a shining
example of world-class forward thinking metal.

Illogicist

Illogicist is a violent sonic combination of technical ability,
rhythmic asymetry, melodic sickness and lyrical frustration created
to reflect a dynamic and emotional vision of suffering and
introspection. Illogicists inner core was born in summer 1997 as a
project of guitarist Luca Minieri and drummer Remy Curtaz. Their
immediate goal was to write music capable to reflect their own
artistical direction, and to find strong musicians to complete the
line-up. In the meanwhile bassist Roberto Zeppa was joining the
band and the trio began finalizing music for its debut release. A
few weeks before the studio sessions, former Nefarium guitarist
Fabio Filippone was joining the ranks, completing the
now-four-piece line-up. Polymorphism Of Death, recorded at One
Voice Studio with Daniele Giordana, represents the first official
output by Illogicist.

After recording POD Roberto Zeppa and Fabio Filippone left the
band. Diego Ambrosi (guitar) and Emilio Dattolo (bass) joined the
band and the line-up became stronger and stable. New music was
written in order to increase sonic violence and technical intent,
and after a long period of reharsal and some live gigs, Illogicist
started a new recording session at One Voice Studio in late October
2002. The result of this session was a new mcd titled Dissonant
Perspectives.

After a strong promotion in the italian uderground scene, mainly
accomplished with live performances, Illogicist signed a deal for
his debut full-lenght album with the american label Crash Music
Inc, ex Pavement Music. Remy Curtaz came back behind drums after a
short time of absence, new songs were written and the band realised
a new recording session in november 2003 at Luca Minieris own
Dissonant Studio. After recording session the band flew to Helsinki
in December 2003 to mix and master at legendary Finnvox Studios,
with Mikko Karmila and Mika Jussila, the album titled Subjected,
released by Crash Music Inc. in July 2004.

After hiring new drummer Sergio Ponti the band played
extensively around Italy and Europe in gigs and festivals with
bands like Dismember and the like. The band, now in a stable and
powerful line-up, is currently writing the music for its second
album, whose recording sessions will take place in January
2007.

Odious Mortem is a 5 piece band from Santa Cruz , CA whose music
focuses on technical, dark, and experimental aspects of the death
metal genre. Inspired early on by groups like Deeds of Flesh,
Suffocation, and Nile, Odious was formed in 2000 by Dan Eggers
(guitar, vocals), David Siskin (guitar) and KC Howard (Drums, also
of Decrepit Birth). After a few years of off and on composition,
Odious recorded their demo "Gestation of Worms" in 2003. Soon
after that, they were introduced to Matt Sotelo (Decrepit
Birth/Legion Studios) and inevitably made arrangements to record a
long awaited full length. Once completed, unmastered promo copies
of the recording were sent around to different labels. Not too long
after that, they made a deal with Unique Leader Records who
released their debut album "Devouring the Prophecy" in February
2005.

Since then Odious Mortem has added 2 new members, Joel Horner on
bass and Anthony Trapani (also of Carnivorous) on vocals. After
playing throughout the west side of the U.S. with great bands such
as Origin, Necrophagist, Arsis, Deeds of Flesh, Severed Savior,
Sleep Terror... ODIOUS was added to the Bloodletting V North
America tour in summer 2006 with Deeds of Flesh, Vile and Decrepit
Birth.

Now back from tour, ODIOUS has been finishing the writing for
their second album, "Cryptic Implosion" due for an early 2007
release on Willowtip Records.

Malignancy

Malignancy is a Yonkers, NY based death/grind band founded by Danny
Nelson and Javier Velez in February of 1992. Early in the band's
history the major problem was always members. Originally consisting
of Danny Nelson (Vocals), Javier Velez (Guitars)
and Kevin Chamberlan (Drums). Malignancy (then going by
the name Carcinogen) wrote a few songs but they were missing
something important...brutality! After a couple of months the
members collectively thought it was time for a change. So due to
musical differences, Kevin left and Frank Madaio (Bass)
and John Marzan (Drums). All the material was then
dissected and all the boring parts were weeded out. During this
long process a second guitarist was added, Larry Demlin.
Larry did not last, neither did our other recently added guitarist,
Tom Dorney. Finally in April of 1993, Malignancy was ready to make
their mark in the death metal community.

With the release of their first demo "Eaten Out From Within",
recorded at The Crypt in Yonkers, NY. The band began to play shows
with the current line-up of Danny, Javier, Frank and John. The
first show was played at The Bond Street Café in Manhattan, NY with
Altercate the Senses and Saliva. Receiving a good response from the
couple of crickets that showed up. The band went on to play more
non-memorable shows with hardcore bands. Finally, a real death
metal show was played. A club in New Jersey called Studio 1. Cancer
and Disincarnate co-headlined the bill and about 5 other bands
supported. From there the band stuck with local gigs and played a
few shows with fellow locals Deathrune. Due to declining turn outs
at shows Malignancy take a break from the scene.

Malignancy's style of writing dramatically changed over the
years with many line-up changes. It has become more of a refined
band, while still maintaining its raw sound and aggressive nature.
All of Malignancy's lyrics are from the demented mind of original
member Danny Nelson. Some lyrical content deals with the horror of
living with a colostomy bag, being mentally deficient and getting
your organs drained out through your penis by a uterine lamprey.
Also if you are into fine dining experiences, check out "Fried
Afterbirth", a song that is about collecting afterbirth and
preparing it for consumption!

After this rather dismal beginning, Malignancy finally got the
line-up it needed. A new line-up was formed in 1995 with Danny
Nelson still on Vocals, added were Roger J. Beaujard
(Drums), Ron Kachnic (Guitar) and Kevin Hughes
(Bass). The following year Lance Snyder joined (Guitar) to
take on the second guitar chores. Ralph Blanco (Guitar)
also shared in the malignant experience for a 1 year period from
1994-1995.

In 1997, a four-song demo entitled "Ignorance Is Bliss" was
released. It too received a welcome response. Ultimately the demo
that got the band signed to United Guttural Records. There was also
a promo CD released through the band with 8 songs (4 from
"Ignorance"). Extremely limited because with the recent signing to
UG Malignancy didn't want the promo to be circulated too much. At
this point the band enlisted Desmond Tollhurst for bass duties. The
goal was to release the full-length CD titled "Intrauterine
Cannibalism" by the spring of 1999, followed up by summer gigs in
the U.S. to support the CD.

Malignancy than went on writing new material for another
release on UG. A five song EP "Motivated By Hunger" was unleashed!
Containing 5 new tracks plus a live version of "Intrauterine
Cannibalism". After a successful United States tour with Mortician
and Goatwhore the band was invited by Shindy Productions (Czech
Republic) to play the Brutal Assault Fest. Malignancy had an
opportunity to also be a part of a split CD with Intervalle Bizzare
(Czech). The labels first choice was Devourment from Texas but due
to their break-up they could not be on the split. Malignancy then
embarked on the task of writing new songs for the release. Two new
tracks were written: "Fibroid Embolism" and "Mortality Weakness".
Rounding out the release the band decided to rerecord three tracks
from "Intrauterine Cannibalism". "Rotten Seed", Post Fetal
Depression" and "Profitable Extinction". The reason for this move
was lack of time to write and complete new songs. Malignancy also
did not like the production on those songs on previous recordings.
The split was released in January of 2002 on Shindy with the
Malignancy side called "Frailty of the Human Condition".

Later in 2001, the demo CD was complied and released on
"Primitive Recordings". It contained the 1993 demo "Eaten Out From
Within", 1997 demo "Ignorance Is Bliss" and the 1998 promo CD
material.

In May 2002, Malignancy and Godless Truth (Czech) started a
mini-tour together. Both bands decided to go out to support their
new releases. One stop on the tour was Fuck The Commerce Fest V in
Neiden, Germany! The Malignant Truth tour played dates in Belgium,
France, London, Czech Republic and Slovakia, with the majority of
the dates being in France. After a successful tour with Godless
Truth, Malignancy returned to the States to continue writing for a
new full-length!

The new MCD entitled "Cross Species Transmutation" is in the
recording process. With a total of seven tracks! Song titles like
"Ovarian Incubation", "Virulent Contagion" and "Postmortem
Perception" should tell you that Malignancy does not intend on
holding back on brutality! Slated for a mid 2003 release. This will
be the last recording with drummer Roger J. Beaujard. As of late
2002, Roger has parted ways with Malignancy. After a website based
search for a replacement, the band chose Mike Heller as the new
drummer.

After the release of CST, the task of training Mike to coup
with Malignancy's style started. A lot of time went into rehearsing
old material to make the transition easier for the band when it
came time to write new songs. A 3-song promo CD was put together to
show the fans that the band was still active and secure a better
label deal. Malignancy was approached by Willowtip Records for a
possible signing in late 2005. The pursuit of a better label ended
with Willowtip. The deal has been signed and recording will start
on Inhuman Grotesqueries in mid-August 2006 at the Carriage House
in Connecticut. The new album art will be courtesy of Tony Koehl,
and he promises it will be the best piece he has ever created for a
CD cover.

and freewheeling rhythmic explosions in hopes to entrance the most

Vulgar Pigeons

Hailing from the West Bay Area (San Francisco), Vulgar Pigeons was
conceived with one common goal in mind: sheer brutality without
compromising originality. Initially formed in 1998, Vulgar Pigeons
immediately began writing material.

Vulgar Pigeons released their first self-titled 7"in the fall of
1999 on Nonsense Records. This release made a definite mark and got
the whole underground scene buzzing about this new contender on the
grind scene, Vulgar Pigeons. To solidify the 7" and the bands
presence, Vulgar Pigeons played countless shows around the area
with the likes of Impaled, Exhumed, Dillinger Escape Plan, Benumb,
and so on.

Wasting no time, Vulgar Pigeons went right back into the studio
to record their second 7", Genetic Predisposition. This would be
released on Howling Bull on both 7" and CD formats (The CD
containing the first 7", bonus unreleased tracks, and a live set
from radio station KZSU). Along with the new Genetic Predisposition
release Vulgar Pigeons appeared on a 625 Records compilation
entitled Barbaric Thrash Detonation. Supporting these releases
Vulgar Pigeons played at the 2000 November to Dismember in San
Bernadino, Ca. and toured the Pacific Northwest with label mates,
Yellow MachineGun.

Quickly thereafter, Vulgar Pigeons signed to Death Vomit
Records, the death/grind imprint of Necropolis Records. Poised to
wield sonic mass destruction on the masses with their
uncompromising brutal yet catchy hybrid of death metal, grindcore,
thrash, and hardcore. Vulgar Pigeons have left their mark on
Necropolis and the grind scene worldwide as they appeared on the
Carcass tribute CD: Requiems of Revulsion, and their first
full-length album, Summary Execution which was released in the fall
of 2001.

The rest of 2001 and 2002 Vulgar Pigeons was busy in support of
the highly praised Summary Execution and also going through a line
up change in order to solidify the sound that Vulgar Pigeons
started out to achieve in the first place. Once Dave Leyva joined
the flock, Vulgar Pigeons hit the road with Cattle Decapitation
running a string of dates up and down the west coast.

With a new and much stronger line up intact, Vulgar Pigeons
began working on ideas for what would be the follow up to Summary
Execution. The now out of business Necropolis had left Vulgar
Pigeons looking for a new home and what turned out to be would one
of the best moves in the band's career. Imperialism was released on
Williowtip Records in 2004 and turned out to be the strongest
effort from Vulgar Pigeons thus far, 14 tracks encompassing every
aspect of the metal genre.

Currently Vulgar Pigeons is working on and compiling new
material for their next full-length release, which will be their
sophomore release on Willowtip Records in late 2005/early 2006, and
will once again top their previous efforts. In the meanwhile
Deepsend Records will be releasing Burning Episode, a 3" CD.

Initially started as a 3-piece, when it came time to record a demo
in 2000, a second guitarist was added. Their debut full-length,
Neurotripsicks, finally sees the light of day in America,
via Willowtip Records.
spirally, harmony-rich arpeggios that truly rape the Rubix cube,
Neurotripsicks from France's Gorod is your culprit. This

Rotten Sound

Rotten Sound is that rare beast which extreme music should aspire
to be in the first place: aggressive as a rhinoceros pumped full of
bad amphetamine, yet razor-sharp in its twists and turns - lunatic
as the assault may be, there is a foreboding sense of methodology
to it. Rotten Sound are going for the throat, make no mistake.

Rotten Sound was formed already in 1993, and there has been no
let-down since, which speaks volumes about the dedication and
seriousness of the band. There is no comic relief either, it is all
a calculated kill. After a slew of underground releases, singles
and EPs, the band unleashed their debut album Under
Pressure in 1998 on Repulse Records. Drain
followed in 1999, then the MCD Still
Psycho (now on Necropolis Records) in 2000. With the release of
Murderworks,
Rotten Sound found themselves headlining a brief European tour.

As anyone who has witnessed their explosive shows can testify,
here is one band who can cut it onstage as well. Relentless touring
has brought them together as no mere practice in some cellar hole
could ever do. The maniacs fronted by singer G always put on a
full-on show, as audiences in Europe and U.S. already know. Check
out their DVD release Murderlive,
which well captures their killer live act with tons of extras to
boot.

The impossibly fluid drumming of K has astounded colleagues and
audiences for years, but is in no way the limit of talent of
display here. Take a listen-no biography will do justice to the
ripping whirlwind the album packs. It is not mere speed-these
seasoned veterans refuse to be a one-trick pony-but the sheer
intensity which counts. And the lyrics certainly measure up. There
are tons of hate thrown around, but always with certain wit and
intelligence, not to mention cynicism.

Legends like Extreme Noise Terror and Napalm Death have paved
the way for bands like Rotten Sound. With the release of
   Exit,
there should be no doubt who will be leading the next
   generation!

Kill The Client

The idea to create a southern grind band that would up the ante
in American grindcore came about in July 2002, exactly one day
after the demise of founding members Chris Andrews and James
Delgado's sludge band EOTS. Violent, blistering grind seemed like
the only interesting option after wandering the destructive
quagmire of slow-as-mud riffs and pummeling sound levels for a few
years, learning their instruments and gaining stage experience.

The two immediately enlisted guitarist Stevan Koye as well as
Morgan, one of Dallas' most recognized figures of violence and
overall destruction on vocals. With the initial lineup intact the
band quickly released two self produced CDR demos and at least 1000
of these demos were sold, given away, stolen and traded around the
region. The band quickly gained a reputation for laying stages to
waste and opening for many of the best touring bands in metal,
grind, and doom from around the country with outstanding
success.

September 2004 brought the release of the band's first official
cd release, "Wage Slave", by a small regional hardcore label called
Counterintelligence Recordings. Although the CD received zero
formal promotion it was openly received and praised by the
grindcore community helping the band immensely. Maximum Rock and
Roll called the CD "one of the best grind albums..in
years". Other reviews called the release "one of the most
intense performances ever committed to CD" while others
repeatedly drew comparisons to such legendary and respected acts
such as Napalm Death, Brutal Truth, Pig Destroyer and the like.

Immediately following the recording of Wage Slave, guitarist
Steven Koye exited the line up to pursue more serious endeavors.
Within a matter of days a good friend of the band, Jody Roberts
(ex- Kalibas), moved from New York to fill in for a period of time
playing 20+ shows as part of the lineup.

Early 2005 led to some important landmarks in solidifying the
long term future of the band. Original EOTS guitarist and good
friend of the band Chris Richardson joined as permanent guitarist.
The band signed to Willowtip records and then toured the east coast
to participate in both the Maryland Deathfest (which hosts many of
the most important worldwide bands in the genre year to year) as
well as the Boston Doom and Grind fest with great success.

October/November will mark both the bands second release titled
"Escalation of Hostility" on the mighty Willowtip records (with a
European release planned with Earache Records). A Central U.S.
and West coast tour with Lair of the Minotaur (Southern Lord) is
also in the works.

percussion filtered through concise, to-the-point songwriting.
Masterfully produced by Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal, Morbid Angel,
Ripping Corpse), the frantic thrash of The Killing Plan
climbs and shimmers like towers of dark quartz rising out of the
desert floor.

NEURAXIS was formed in 1994 in Montreal, Canada.
Having released 3 albums, Neuraxis forged a unique
identity combining sheer brutality with a melodic and
progressive edge. Imagery(1997) showcased their early
death/grind approach. A Passage Into Forlorn(2001)
introduced a more melodic and progressive side of
extreme metal. And with Truth Beyond…(2002), Neuraxis
raised the bar with a dizzying amount of brutality,
melody and technicality. All 3 albums were released in
Canada(Galy Rec), USA(Willowtip Rec) and
Europe(Earache Rec). Several tours throughout Canada,
USA and Europe were completed and established Neuraxis
as jaw dropping live act.

2005, Neuraxis remain as progressive and vital as ever
with their brand new full length, Trilateral
Progression. Since Truth Beyond, the band's
songwriting has matured to the point of Atheist-like
complexity while maintaining a triumphant melodic edge
that baffles and lays waste to most of their
contemporaries. Trilateral Progression(Willowtip Rec)
stands tall as an articulate model for challenging
technical death metal that rejects commercial trends
and successfully balances a majestic sense of melody
with go-for-the-throat aggression. 2005-2006 will be
spent touring in support of Trilateral Progression.
Prepare yourself for the nerve shattering pulse of
Neuraxis!

Impaled

For more than a decade since 1997, the dank corners of Oakland,
California have been plagued by a goretet of madmen bent on
perverting goodwill to ill-will, virtue to violence, and kindness
to killing. They have sought nothing less than the complete
destruction of all that is good. The world has rued the day that
Impaled came to be.

Begat by guitarist/vocalist Sean McGrath and joined by drummer Raul
Varela, Impaled created an ethic to destroy the weak, the sick, the
frail, the poseurs. The pair enlisted the services of Leon del
Muerte on guitar and vocals and Ross Sewage on bass and vocals to
create a line-up that would take the underground by storm.

After the release of the absolutely putrid demo, "From Here to
Colostomy," Impaled was quickly regarded as a force of gore to be
reckoned with. A split 7" with hydro-grinders Cephalic Carnage
solidified Impaled's infamy, and they were soon the first death
metal band signed to kvlt black metal label, Necropolis Records.

The year 2000 saw the release of Impaled's first record, "The Dead
Shall Dead Remain," and vomit spilled forth from the aisles of
record stores all over the world. A U.S. tour with death metal
heavyweights Nile followed and Impaled found their brand of
malfeasance to be celebrated from shore to bloody shore.

In 2001, refusing to rest on their laurels, Impaled followed up
their demolishing full-length debut with a one-two-three-four
punch. In that year, they recorded a split 7" with the moshtastic
Engorged, covered tracks for Impetigo and Carcass tribute CDs,
released the infamous "Choice Cuts" EP whose cover saw censure
worldwide, and toured the U.S. again with Skinless, Origin, and
Vader.

Leon del Muerte departed the gruesome foursome soon thereafter and
was replaced by guitarist/vocalist Andrew LaBarre. After honing
their skills, the sonic deviltry Impaled created was set onto wax
with Necropolis Records release of 2002's "Mondo Medicale." Banned
in 84 countries for excessive violence and sickness, this release
was revered by the metal community and reviled by the public.
Impaled performed nationally once again with Incantation and a
trail of offal and chum was left in their wake.

The follow up EP, 2003's Medical Waste, included unreleased tracks
and Impaled's first gory music video. It was met with universal
scorn and condemned as an abomination against humanity. The same
year, Impaled composed a tale too horrible for one band to tell, so
Spain's Haemorrhage rose to the occasion and conspired in the 2003
split-CD release from Razorback Records, "Dementia Rex." Sadly,
Andrew LaBarre would not survive the experience, and was replaced
by guitarist/vocalist extraordinaire, Jason Kocol.

2004 saw Impaled catapulted into the limelight when they inked a
deal to record for Century Media Records. The kings of screams then
coerced one Trey Spruance, of Mr. Bungle and Secret Chiefs 3 fame,
to man the helm for the production of the world's sickest concept
album, "Death After Life." Over the next two years, the release of
the album and another abominable video thrust Impaled further onto
the world stage. In addition to touring America and into Mexico
with bands such as Disfear, Aborted and Napalm Death, Impaled lay
waste to the continent of Europe with Deeds of Flesh and massacred
Japan side-by-side with General Surgery.

Now in 2007, ten years since the massacre began, Impaled returns
with their most deadly effort to date. Working with Willowtip
Records, the release of Impaled's fourth full-length is bound to
crush their enemies and give rise to the bloodlust of their fans.
Replete with scalpel sharp riffs, blinding speed, and hooks that
rip your lips off, "The Last Gasp" is a record you won't survive.

Corpus Mortale

Corpus Mortale was founded in early 1993 by Nicholas
Masch?ln(drums) and S?ren Jensen(guitar). After some line-up
changes Martin Rosendahl(vocals & bass) joined in Spring 1994.
At the time the band was kind of a hobby band, nevertheless, a
demo-tape was recorded in May 1995. The tape received positive
reactions in the underground press, and the band went on with more
serious intentions! After playing a couple of shows, the band
recruited a fourth member. Morten Jensen joined the band early in
1996. Only three months later the band went to the studio, to
record their second demo, the mcd "Integration". This time the band
got even better recognition, and the full pressing of 800 copies
was sold out in 7 months.

The following years (1997-1999) was spent playing shows both in
Denmark and Germany, and composing new material. S?ren and Morten
grew tired of Corpus Mortale, and after the crashed album attempt
"Spiritism", they decided to leave! While searching for
replacements, Martin and Nicholas continued to write new songs, and
when Brian Eriksen (guitar & vocals) and Jens Lee (guitar)
joined in September, it didn?t take long before the band was ready
for the recording of their final official demo. The mcd "Succumb To
The Superior" was recorded and released, and once again the critics
were overwhelming! Loads of good reviews, interviews and a couple
of (unfortunately bad!?!) contract offers.

In the summer of 2001 Jens Lee left the band due to lack of time
and dedication. Just a few months later Roar Christoffersen
(guitar) joins in and in December the label-only "Sombre And
Vile"mcd, was conceived! Once more, only bad contract offers
occurred!

In the summer of 2003 Brian was no longer into playing metal no
more, he left a few months later. The year of 2003 was spent
shopping the album "With Lewd Demeanor"! A couple of quite
interesting offers slipped right through, but in the end? in
October 2003 the bands signed a contract with Dutch label Neurotic
Records ! The album was released on 23rd of November, just 10 days
after the band had returned from a 12 date European tour.

Material for the second album "A New Species of Deviant" has been
written after that, and has now been recorded completely. This
album will see the light of day through Neurotic Records in mid
2007. Corpus Mortale is currently looking for a proper guitar
player! Mads Haarl?v will fill in on the rhytm guitar spot as a
session member, until a replacement shows up!

Upheaval

Perhaps the only thing as uncompromising as the band Upheaval's pessimistic belief in the world's inevitable fiery, gory end and the continual worsening of human suffering and exploitation is the brutal death metal that they have chosen as the vehicle for their message. Often slow and plodding, sometimes blackened and furious, the band's songs are always performed with breakneck precision- hitting every hammer on, blast beat and throaty gasp with amazing clarity. Upheaval's sound easily draws comparisons to their fellow masters of sickness in Cannibal Corpse and Suffocation, while hinting however vaguely at the band members' extensive backgrounds in the hardcore/ punk scene via an incredible urgency and power.

The Indianapolis based death metal band was formed in 1997 around the core members of guitarist Ben Parrish, drummer Jeremy King and one-time Birthright six stringer Nathan Stambro, along with then vocalist James Ryan and bassist Brian Allen. The band meticulously constructed the five songs that later comprised their debut CD release, the now out-of-print Downfall Of The Ascendancy Of Man (Eulogy). Each song was a lyrical diatribe attacking various societal ills and sociopathic tendencies- from the tobacco industry to sport hunting- cloaked in blood-soaked imagery a la Carcass and backed by sheer brutality and chunk.

1999 saw the addition of Bryan and Drew Grimes- on bass and vocals, respectively- in the fine tradition of brothers in metal bands. The last year of the millennium also saw Upheaval produce an entirely new body of work, narrowing down and honing their metallic craft to near perfection.

The year 2000 found the band shaping, molding and refining their sound even further, spewing forth their masterwork, Testimony to the Atrocities. Upheaval's latest and greatest exposition of carnage couples the raw intensity of their past with a far more aggressive nod towards their future. The record is layered with their by now trademark grinding death metal while sprinkled with the fury of a near-Nordic atmosphere and a technicality matched possibly only by new label-mates Creation Is Crucifixion. The terrifying union of Upheaval with Willowtip Records- quickly becoming recognized as the vanguard of the burgeoning, deeply underground metal movement- will truly be an awe inspiring sight to behold as 2001 unfolds.

Consider yourselves warned.

The Year Of Our Lord

Ten years ago, with the release of their 1999 EP "The Frozen Divide," The Year of Our Lord helped to pave the way for melodic metal in the United States. They drew influences from a european style but also maintained their american metal and hardcore roots. Their sound had melody, darkness, speed, and brutality. These qualities brought a level of excitement and intrigue about the potential TYOOL had for the future.

Striving to progress and take their sound to new heights, they worked tirelessly on material and headed into the studio for an entire month in 2001. The end product was the LP "The Year of Our Lord." While pleased with the material on the LP, many people thought the production was missing something. Although it sounded raw, almost like it was recorded in the 80's or 90's, it lacked a polished quality that the band deserved.

After the release of the LP, TYOOL started to plateau. Career aspirations, member changes, and the lack of a proper touring schedule had put a strain on the band. They had begun writing material for a new record and the songs, even in their infancy, showed vast progression and improvement in skill. This release was to be even faster, darker, more brutal, and still have the signature melodies that fans had come to expect from them.

In the years after, the idea to remix and remaster the LP had been brought up many times. When the decision was finally made to go ahead with it, the band decided to go all out and remix the EP and record that new material that never had been heard or released. After a long and trying process, The Year of Our Lord completed their definitive collection of work that shows the progression of the band and gives a taste of where the band was headed if they had remained intact.

Although their potential was never realized completely, The Year of Our Lord is confident in what they have created over the years and the mark they left on heavy music. Remaining members Nick & Scott Heigelmann, Colin Conway, and producer Peter Rutcho of Damage Studios have outdone themselves on this extensive effort to provide TYOOL fans with their requiem, "Dead To You."

Psycroptic

Residing in Tasmania, Psycroptic formed in 1999 and immediately set out to create their own style of darkened death metal. Consisting of originally of Cameron Grant (bass), Joe Haley (guitars), Matthew Chalk (vocals) and David Haley (drums), the four came together after the bands they had played in disbanded. After performing numerous shows to gain live experience, Psycroptic entered the Hobart studio Red Planet Recordings in October 2000 to record their debut self financed CD The Isle of Disenchantment. Released in January 2001, The Isle of Disenchantment received an overwhelming response from the metal underground which helped spread the Psycroptic name all around the world.

Supporting the release, Psycroptic played quite a few shows interstate, including playing at Australia's premier metal event, Metal For The Brain, as well as at the High Voltage festival and as headliner of the Melbourne Metal Website launch. Despite living in such a remote location, Psycroptic still managed to distribute about 3,000 copies of "The isle of disenchantment" around the globe, as well as appearing on several compilation CDs and conducting over 60 interviews - for print and broadcast media. A cassette version of the album was also licensed to Aarack Records for the Indonesian territory. With so many other bands in today's scene, this is quite an achievement for an unsigned band living in one of the most isolated parts of the world.

2002 saw Psycroptic hard at work completing material for their follow up release "The scepter of the ancients". Several gigs were played during the first half of the year, however the decision was made to not play live until the album had been finished. The recording took place periodically from September through to December 2002, with mixing undertaken in January. The album is a further progression for the band, showcasing their own unique approach on dark and extreme metal. Entirely self financed, the album shows Psycroptic's dedication and belief in their music. After hearing the album, US based label Unique Leader offered Psycroptic a deal, which was quickly accepted. Unique Leader Records are currently one of the highest quality death metal labels in the World, and Psycroptic are honoured to be on the label. Soon after the "The scepter of the Ancients" was released, Psycroptic toured Australia as national support for US death metallers Incantation, receiving a great response. Dave played drums for several Incantation songs at Bloodlust Festival (along with Gryphon from Astriaal), after Incantation drummer Kyle Severn was injured in a car accident during the tour.

Psycroptic supported Deeds of Flesh on their Australian tour in July 2004, and were then offered a 25 date European tour with death metal legions Dismember in November. Sadly, for some reason Matthew chose not to participate on this tour which left Psycroptic to look for a vocalist to fill in. Jason Peppiatt stepped up and proved he was a talented and dedicated musician.

After the European tour, several shows were played with Matthew returning on vocals. However, ongoing disharmony and tensions resulted in the rest of the band asking Matthew to leave in March 2005. In April 2005, Jason was asked to join Psycroptic. Jason beyond proved himself as a vocalist to enthusiastic Australian audiences when the band toured with Hate Eternal on their June Australian tour. Recording begain for the follow up to "Scepter..." in July and was completed in Novemeber, after periodic recording sessions at Red Planet studios and Joebiwan studios. One show with Nile was played supporting them on their Australian tour.

2006 was started off seeing the band play several shows with Behemoth in Australia. The new album "Symbols of Failure" was released on Feb 13 (Feb 27 in Australia) - an overwhelming response has since followed. An extensive Australian tour followed by European tours with Cannibal Corpse, Kataklysm and Nile has helped push Psycroptic to their highest level thus far. In January 2007 Psycroptic returned to Europe once more to support Deicide on a full European tour. More international touring is scheduled for 2007 including the first ever North American tour!

Sickening Horror

The band was formed on January 2002 by George Antipatis (guitars,
vocals), Ilias Daras (bass) and George Kollias (drums, Nightfall).
After a very short time the band started completing its first songs
which were floating around technical Death Metal forms in the likes
of Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Death and Atheist. After a
year-and-a-half of non-stop rehearsing and killer live shows, the
band recorded the demo "Promo 2003" in the Fall of 2003 which
received great reviews worldwide for its innovative and precise
sound. At the time, the band had George Bokos (Rotting
Christ/ex-Nightfall) on the second guitar, who left after a while
due to increased obligations. In the summer of 2004 George Kollias
joined the US death metal band Nile and recorded "Annihilation of
the Wicked" album. By 2005 Sickening Horror had completed the
song-writing of their first album. Meanwhile the band's influences
had expanded in a wide spectrum which included experimental black
metal bands like Ved Buens Ende, Dodheimsgard, Virus and
jazz-fusion artists like Charlie Parker, Dave Weckl, Virgil Donati.
All these elements filtered by their unique "Sickening Horror"
point of view, in a Death Metal basis, plus many industrial samples
and loops created what is now called "When Landscapes Bled
Backwards". The band's debut album was recorded in Athens and mixed
by mastermind Neil Kernon. As for the lyrics, they have to do with
quite simple - often personal - subjects, regarded from a
completely strange and surrealistic aspect. Eventually the band
reached to an agreement with Neurotic Records to unleash "When
Landscapes Bled Backwards" in Spring 2007 and everyone involved in
this recording has very high expectations, as the album's sound is
really fresh and has a vast variety of the deepest, strongest and
darkest emotions.

Inspired by bands like Suffocation, Pyrexia, Vader and Dying Fetus,
Disavowed was formed in 2000 from the remnants of Nocturnal
Silence. With the goal to write music that is brutal, yet well
structured, technical and catchy, 3 songs were written and recorded
soon after Disavowed formed. The demo CD entitled 'Point of Few'
resulted in good responses from all over the deathmetal scene and
finally led to a recording agreement with the American label Unique
Leader Records. In 2001 the first full length CD entitled
'Perceptive Deception' was released, followed by a 5-week tour in
the United States and Canada in 2002 and a 4-week European tour in
2003. After a long period of wrist injuries of the drummer, Robbe
V, a temporary replacement was found in Dirk Janssen of German
death metal band Despondency in mid 2005. After doing numerous
regional shows Disavowed headed to Japan for their first time ever
in April 2006. After that Disavowed, who found a new permanent
drummer in Romain Goulon, performed on several festivals such as
Brutal Assault (CZ) and Mountains Of Death (CH). Soon after the
band started to record their sophomore album entitled "Stagnated
Existence" which is scheduled for a late winter/early spring
release through Neurotic Records. The new album will show the
growth of Disavowed musically, without compromising brutality and
aggressiveness.

Visceral Bleeding

Founded in the late nineties by Peter Persson on Guitar and Niklas
Dewerud behind the Drums to perform what they thought was lacking
in the Swedish death scene. A mixture of raw brutality and
technical skill. With Calle Löfgren on Bass, Dennis Röndum on
vocals and Marcus Nilsson joining in as a solo guitarist they had
found the right mixture to play their extreme metal. The first demo
"Internal decomposition" was recorded at studio Moonshine fall 2000
and received only good reviews. Chris at Retribute Records picked
up on this and decided to sign the band and release a full-length
album with Visceral Bleeding. The album was called Remnants of
Deprivation and was recorded during three weeks of Nov-Dec 2001 in
Pama Studio in Kristianopel and Salt Island studio in Karlskrona
and was released in March 2002. Shortly after the CD was recorded
Niklas unfortunately had to depart from the band. He didn't feel he
had the time and commitment it took to continue as drummer and
wanted to dedicate his time and full attention to job as bass
player in Spawn of Possession.

Tobias "Rottenboy" Persson joined in as drummer shortly after
Niklas departure. After trying out for a wile V.B. decided to take
him in as a permanent member and there by making Visceral Bleeding
a complete band once again.

Remnants of Deprivation received great response from all over the
world and the reviews were overwhelming. Visceral Bleeding was at
this time picked up by Record label Neurotic Records and
immediately started to write, arrange and complete songs for what
was going to be the album "Transcend into Ferocity". Recorded,
mixed and mastered by Visceral Bleeding and Robert Ahrling in
studio Flat-pig - Malmö/Sweden during 3 weeks of Dec-Jan. Released
through Neurotic Records in May 2004.

Once again the reviews were overwhelming and Transcend into
Ferocity made sure to establish Visceral Bleeding as one of the
most extreme death metal bands out there. Following the release,
Dennis Röndum decided he could not continue focusing on two bands
without one of them being left behind. Realizing he could not give
100% to both, he decided to leave Visceral Bleeding to focus on his
main obsession - extreme drumming in one of the most extreme bands
ever to play Death metal: Spawn of Possession.

A replacement was found in Martin Pedersen who immediately joined
in and gave the band a breath of fresh air with his 120%
commitment, ambition and focus on the one goal: to further
establish the name Visceral Bleeding in the scene of extreme death
metal.

Touring all across Europe as support band to Re-united Obituary and
as main support to Death metal legends Deicide made sure to spread
the madness and create a devoted fan base. To further strengthen
their position in the genre, the band also did a headlining tour
throughout the UK during spring 2005.

During writing process of album number three Absorbing the
Disarray, lead guitarist Marcus Nilsson decided to take a step back
from the scene and in his place Martin "Germ" Bermheden was
introduced to the band. The album was recorded in June 2006, once
again using Studio FlatPig with Robert Ahrling as
technician/producer.

Directly following the recording Calle got married and had a
daughter, he therefore had to take a step back from the band for a
undetermined amount of time, filling his shoes in the band and
helping out with the recording of Absorbing the Disarray was Martin
"Body" Eklöv.

Visceral Bleeding kicked of the new line-up and Album release with
a five week European tour with Skinless / Cryptopsy directly
followed by a four week European tour with Deicide.

Spawn Of Possession

Spawn of Possession rose from the ashes of various constellations
in Feb. `97, consisting of Jonas Bryssling (guitar), Jonas Karlsson
(guitar) and Dennis Röndum (drums). The whole idea of the band was
to create brutal and sick music that went beyond all that had been
done before in death metal history!

After three years of dedicated song writing the band went to record
their first demo, "The Forbidden", which got nothing but great
responses and earned the band a respectful name in the death metal
community world wide! Right after the release of "The Forbidden"
the band found bass player Nick Dewerud to fill the empty bass spot
the band had suffered from since the start! A year later the band
once again laid siege to the studio to record their second demo,
"Church of Deviance" which got praised in every review it faced and
in Dec.2001 Spawn of Possession signed a deal with Unique Leader
Records.

Spawn of Possession worked extremely hard on new material for the
next six months and in June 2002 the recording of the debut album,
"Cabinet", commenced! The band ended up in Pama Studios together
with the highly acclaimed producer/engineer Magnus Sedenberg with
whom they had worked on previous recordings. The recording, mixing
and mastering of Cabinet went smooth and the final result followed
up the band's expectations for a complete satisfaction!

With nothing but great press and a rapidly growing name it was now
time to start supporting their release live. First off was a 4 week
European tour together with Disavowed, Vile, Inhume and Mangled.
The tour was a major success and opened up a lot of new doors for
the band. Shortly after returning home the next tour offer was
knocking on the door. A six week North American tour together with
Unique Leader label mates, Severed Savior, Pyaemia and Gorgasm.
Traveling coast to coast including a five gigs ride to Canada,
Spawn of Possession executed no less than 27 shows on this tour.
Needless to say, this was of course a huge step up for the band.

After coming back from the US tour Spawn of Possession was
fortunate enough to be able to do another tour, this time as a part
of the annual No Mercy package in Europe, with bands such as
Cannibal Corpse, Hypocrisy, Kataklysm, Exhumed, Vomitory and
Carpathian Forest. The tour consisted of 14 shows, playing in front
of 600 to 1500 people a night at some of the biggest club venues in
Europe. After this spring-tour summerfestival offers kept poring in
having the band perform at 8 festivals including Fuck The Commerce
(Germany), Stonehenge (The Netherlands), Grind You Mother (Italy)
and Mountains of Death (Switzerland).

During this period and the beginning of fall 2004 Spawn of
Possession also started to work on new material. In mid September
the writing however got interrupted as the band joined Cannibal
Corpse as direct support on a 24 show tour throughout Scandinavia
and the Baltic/eastern European states. This was without a doubt
one of the strongest tours up to date leaving the band with a new
good tour experience and dozens of new recruits to the Spawn of
Possession fan base.

With 4 tours and almost a 100 shows under their belt the band fully
concentrated on writing the follow up to the debut album, Cabinet
which was released by Neurotic Records in 2006. Right after the
band went on tour in Europe as direct support of Hate Eternal.

Ulcerate

Originally a concept of Jamie Saint Merat and Michael Hoggard,
together with the addition of vocalist Mark Seeney in late 2000,
the foundation of Ulcerate was formed. Then under the moniker
'Bloodwreath', this line-up remained intact for all of 2001 whilst
the band struggled to find a 'sound' both stylistically and
compositionally.

Early 2002 brought a line-up change with the enlisting of guitarist
Jared Commerer, and James Wallace to fill the now vacant vocal
position - Mark having left to pursue his drumming. This new
line-up brought a new level of focus to the band and work quickly
began in constructing material that would later become the four
tracks of the band's first recording effort. It was with this
release that the decision was made for a clean slate beginning and
so came the demise of Bloodwreath, and the subsequent rise of
Ulcerate.

While it was fairly removed from Ulcerate's current sound and
direction, this S/T 2003 demo proved to be a solid platform from
which the band could evolve. It also helped garner a wider local
appreciation with people beginning to recognise the style and
songs. As it stands the tracks 'Subversive Supremacy' and 'Smash
the Deceitful' are still popular regular inclusions in the current
live set.

Throughout 2003 the band continued to build from the success off
the S/T demo and by late November tracking was already underway for
'The Coming Of Genocide' EP. During this recording process Jared
Commerer decided he wished to focus on his jazz bass playing and so
chose to leave Ulcerate. Michael Rothwell joined soon after filling
the void on second guitar left by the departure of Jared. Also at
this time Ulcerate's first permanent bassist was enlisted in the
form of Phil Kusabs.

For the second time in as many years local support for the band
built rapidly off the back of a release - this time with 'The
Coming Of Genocide'.

While 2004 proved to be a highly successful year with a solid
line-up, by mid 2005 the decision was made to further refine the
Ulcerate 'sound', and the band opted to move to a cleaner finger
style bass approach, adding an extra dimension to the sound. Thus
Paul Kelland was recruited with the departure of Phil Kusabs.

Early 2006 vocalist James Wallace departed, with Ben Read (ex-Kill
Me Quickly, Misadventures in Self Surgery) filling his vacancy
bringing an entirely different sound and a formidable set of lungs
to the band on the eve of completing their debut full-length for
Italy's The Spew records. The 2004 demo 'The Coming of Genocide'
was also rereleased on The Flood Records, with 2003's self-titled
demo included as bonus tracks and an interactive CD-ROM component.

In April 2006 Ulcerate signed with Dutch extreme metal label
Neurotic Records, whose roster includes such notable acts as Spawn
of Possession, Psycroptic, Visceral Bleeding and Panzerchrist among
others. Their debut full-length 'Of Fracture and Failure', released
at the end of 2006 this album is gaining more than proper
recognition. Touring options will be sorted out for 2007.

Originally formed in 1998, guitarist Stefan Aronsson and drummer David Lindkvist decided to form technical metal band Terminal Function with the vision of creating challenging and extreme music.

With the addition of
guitarist Mikael Almgren and vocalist Victor Larsson, the vision expanded to a much larger horizon, and they've since found their own unique approach in creating and executing technical metal.

In late 2007, American label Willowtip signed Terminal Function and will be releasing their debutalbum "MEASURING THE ABSTRACT"

Prostitute Disfigurement

Prostitute Disfigurement started out as a 3 piece near the end of
2000 under the name Disfigure, right before demo recordings to be
joined by Roel on guitars. After the second liveshow the band was
offered a record deal with dutch based Dismemberment Records and
under the name Prostitute Disfigurement the debut album "Embalmed
Madness" was released.

Both debut album and demo were recorded using a drum computer.
"Embalmed Madness" was released during October 2001, in limited
quantity of 500, which sold out in a few weeks. Quickly 500 more
were pressed and were again sold out quickly. The album got raving
reviews in media such as Aardschok (NL), Legacy (GER) and so on and
is now re-released by Unmatched Brutality.

More gigs made a live drummer mandatory, to benefit the aggressive
stage-act of Prostitute Disfigurement, so local guy Tim joined.
After Tim was enlisted the band started to work on their second
album, entitled "Deeds of Derangement". This heavy piece of death
metal was recorded early February 2003 and was released on German
based Morbid records in August 2003.

Again great reviews were received, yet despite this guitarplayer
Niels left the band and Benny was asked to fill his shoes. To
support the album lots of gigs were performed, including festival
appearancess on Obscene Extreme, the Morbid festival and the
Rotterdam Deathfest. Sharing stages with well-known acts like
Suffocation, Exhumed and Gorerotted fed the band only more.

After 2 years of gigs Tim left the band and Michiel (Katafalk,
Toxocara), was asked almost immediately. He gladly took over the
drum duties and barely a month after he joined the ranks the band
entered Excess Studios to record their third album, entitled "Left
in Grisly Fashion". This album has been released by Neurotic
records on June 6th 2005.

Response on "Left in Grisly Fashion" was more than overwhelming,
resulting in European tours supporting Deicide and Cannibal Corpse.
In the meantime the band focussed on writing a new album, which
will be recorded in late April, Early May by Andy Classen at his
Stage One Studio. The new, as of yet untitled, album will include a
bonus DVD on the first pressing.

Severed Savior

In 1999, Murray Fitzpatrick, Mike Gilbert, Troy Fullerton, Dusty Boisjolie and Armondo Avolos formed Severed Savior from the ashes of 2 different projects. The goal was to play and create music that was sick, challenging, and brutal. After several months of writing and practicing, we started playing shows here in the bay area and were lucky enough to support for Incantation as well as Disgorge and Deeds of Flesh. Shortly thereafter, Armondo was released of his duties and Murray switched from guitar to bass. In March of 2000, we recorded a 5 song demo titled "Puddle of Gore" with Bart Thurber at House of Faith studios in Oakland, CA. Playing as a 4 piece with Murray now owning on bass, the band continued to play shows locally and to write music. At this time the set list consisted of such lovely titles as Fecalpheliac, Bury the Whore, Molesting the Dead, Fuck the Humans, Deadspeak, Puddle of Gore and of course Steel Toe Abortion. In June, 2001, we recruited former Deeds of Flesh / Impaled guitarist Jared Deaver and planned on recording our 2 newest songs along with one written with Jared as a 3 song EP to be released along with our previous 5 song demo as bonus tracks. The EP titled "Forced to Bleed" was recorded in August, 2001 at J-Lab studios in Daly City, CA. Shortly after the recording and mixing, Mike Gilbert left the band, and Jared recruited a friend of the band named Rob Lumbre. Forced to Bleed was released on Disfigured Records on November 24th, 2001. Upon its Release, Severed Savior was signed to Unique leader Records. Unfortunately Rob passed away in a car accident just a couple months later on Jan 5th, 2002. Devastated, the band carried on. Jason Kramer was added as 2nd guitarist for a brief period, but was then released. August, 2002, began the recording of the band's first full length cd titled "Brutality is Law", at Digit Sound in San Pablo, CA. Brutality is Law was released on Unique Leader Records in the USA March 24th, 2003 and World wid in April 2003. Shortly after the release of "Brutality is Law", Jared left the band and Mike Gilbert returned to his rightful place. In November and December 2003, the band toured the US and Canada on Bloodletting North America IV with label mates Gorgasm, Pyaemia and Spawn of Possesion. Severed Savior crushed North America again in July, 2004 with Cannibal Corpse and The Black Dahlia Murder. Their forthcoming full-length, Servile Insurrection, will be released later in 2008.

Magrudergrind was formed in 2002. The District of Columbia,
bass-less trio quickly established footing early on in the DIY, punk, and metal
communities alike, through continuum release of quality material on small
labels domestic and abroad. With an undeveloped following, Magrudergrind
utilized the huge, yet tight networked community of the underground music scene
to share both record space and the stage with bands from across the country and
across the world. Touring massively in North America and Europe at an early
stage, Magrudergrind had gained a true, intrinsic, and loyal following.

Magrudergrind are quickly becoming one of the biggest and
most-respected DIY grind groups in all the world. Since the creation of the
group, the band has toured Europe and North America multiple times, Japan, and
South East Asia with the likes of Misery Index, Unholy Grave, Phobia, and
Rotten Sound.

Two-thousand and nine saw Magrudergrind’s highly acclaimed, sophomore
full-length, self-titled record on Willowtip Records. The Kurt Ballou
(Converge, Misery Index, Torche) produced and Scott Hull (Pig Destroyer,
Phobia) mastered record has caught exponential fans and year-end favorites. Magrudergrind
will continue their grind-a-thon into 2010 with notable appearances at the
Scion Rock Festival in Ohio on March 13, the Maryland Deathfest, Memorial Day
weekend and Hellfest in Clisson, France in June.

DEFEATED SANITY was formed c.1994 as a project of Wolfgang Teske (guitar) and Lille Gruber (drums) with the intention to play the most brutal and intense Death Metal possible. The band started playing shows in 1996 with the help of session musicians Jonas Gruber (bass) and Robert Colnik (vocals). With this line-up the band also recorded 2 demos ‘Devoured By The Black’ (1996) and ‘Withdrawn From Beauty’ (1998).

The next step was to find musicians able to play the very complicated and difficult songs. Those guys were Tino Köhler (bass) and Christian Münzner (guitar). In 2001 Czech label GRODHAISN PRODUCTIONS released a split-CD with POPPY SEED GRINDER with vocals by Marcus Keller. Also recorded in 2001 was the ‘Collapsing Human Failures’ contribution to the Split 7” EP with IMPERIOUS MALEVOLENCE, which would be the last containing guitarist Christian Münzner (who then became part of NECROPHAGIST).

In late 2004 the band released their debut full length album, 'Prelude To The Tragedy' on UK label GRINDETHIC RECORDS.

Defeated Sanity has now undergone further line-up changes with Jens Staschel joining on vocals, Christian Kuehn on guitar and Jacob Schmidt filling in on bass. In August 2006 the band entered Soundlodge Studios and recorded their second album, 'Psalms Of The Moribund' which was released by GRINDETHIC RECORDS in early 2007. Now, in 2009, Defeated Sanity has signed to Willowtip and will release their new album, "Chapters Of Repugnance" later this year.

Squash Bowels is goregrind band who was born exactly in April ‘94 in Bia?ystok, Poland with the line-up: Mariosh (vocals), Paluch (bass), Lechu (guitars). After three months of playing, they recorded our first release “Fürgott”. After that they have participated in many split albums with great names such as Disgorge (Mexico) and Cock And Ball Torture and have also released 4 full-length albums.
The last full length release of polish SQUASH BOWELS as well as upcoming split with NEUROPATHIA shows that inspired by old school grindcore style you can still add some variety and incerdible power to created music. After many releases over 14 years of existing on the underground scene, and similiar amount of lineup changes SQUASH BOWELS is still in the first league of european grindcore, touring in almost every country of ‘old continent’, joining most important grind festivals every year, sharing stages with bands like Vital Remains, Dead Infection, Sinister, Monstrosity,Waco Jesus, Regurgitate, Devourment and many more.
Love Songs CD/LP (LifeStage prod. - new label of Arthur (bass player of SB) / Apathic View prod.) released year ago hit us with 15 tracks of destroying, moshing and furious energy that comes from that polish fourpiece. Sometimes twisted and ultra fast, sometimes straight and aggresive to the point music with great energy on stage makes them wanted band on european stages. Recorded in polish famous Hertz Studio album deliver a massive, dirty and brutal sound which become recognizing mark for this band.
SQUASH BOWELS are hard working guys, so be prepared for another massive attack of their music – with new album you can expect more Grind Core influences than ever, more old school ideas, but with the same hard knockin’,technically highclass, uncompromising rough style. All band members have a lot of musical expirience, also beeing in the past/current members of killer, heavy like german tank bands as Damnable or Exit Wounds.
With finally stable lineup and fresh ideas SQUASH BOWELS will hit your town, your favourite venue and your ears till they start bleedin’. Massive european touring is behind (incl. tours with Genocide SS, Ingrowing, Torsofuck, Cerebral Turbulency, Neuropathia, Afgrund, Needfull Things, Parricide, Abortion), but definitely more to come! Don’t miss it or you’ll regret it forever !
still working on songs for the next full length album. The album will be recorded and mixed in the end of April 2009 in Hertz Studio (Bialystok).
The band has released one full length album "Extinction Scheme" on Emetic records, and another 7” inch Ep "Sonic Punishment" on 625 Thrash. Infanticide has never been that much of a liveband, though they have played a few shows in Germany, Czech republic, and Sweden. Maybe that will change with the release of the new CD "From Our Cold, Dead Hands" on Willowtip Records. You never know. The band´s music have always been

Gigan

The brainchild of left handed lead guitarist and founding member Eric Hersemann, GIGAN has been challenging the mortal laws of extreme music and creativity since early 2006. Forged around the simple notion that the imagination should be art's only limit, GIGAN's style of creative delivery has simultaneously invoked reactions of amazement, disbelief, shock, awe and ultimately- respect.

GIGAN's first official release was in January 2007 under the guise of the "Footsteps of GIGAN" ep. While originally recorded with the purpose of being a simple demo only, independent record label Index Entertainment thought so much of the recording that they signed GIGAN and released "Foosteps of GIGAN" upon the unsuspecting masses. "Footsteps..." captured the attentions of several major music magazines and websites that felt GIGAN was a force to be reckoned with and a new voice for a starving extreme music scene fraught with regurgitations and well marketed, "logo metal". Regional headlining shows and opening slots for other national acts followed while Eric began completing the music and lyrics for what would eventually be GIGAN's first full length album: "The Order of the False Eye".

Shortly after the release of "Footsteps..." Napalm Records approached GIGAN with the intent of releasing whatever the band did next. Contracts were signed and GIGAN was added to the Napalm Records roster of international heavy metal bands. Napalm knew GIGAN was on the forefront of extreme music, but had no idea what to expect from this new beast of theirs...

November 2007 saw GIGAN headed to Semaphore studios; in Eric's hometown of Chicago, IL, to work with longtime friend and ally Sanford Parker. Parker has been at the helm for several of modern metal's new masterpieces, and that expertise along with his history with Eric proved to be a excellent fit for the band. "The Order of the False Eye" became an incredible musical journey that saw the GIGAN sound expanding to fit a growing universe of detail and imagination. Combining elements of extreme metal, jazz, progressive and experimental industrial sounds with solid song structures and tinges of psychedelia-"The Order of the False Eye" was a veritable feast; and people responded to it with ravenous positivity!

"The Order of the False Eye" was released in July of 2008 and the media attention was prevalent and overwhelmingly positive. Thanks in part to the hard work of Napalm Records, "The Order of the False Eye" was featured prominently in nearly every relevent music print magazine and website through both interviews with Eric and record reviews. Worldwide interest and curiosity saw GIGAN receiving positive attention from everywhere. Decibel Magazine questioned: "has a new king returned to claim the extreme metal dementia throne?". Alternative Press magazine (AP) even featured GIGAN in their "100 bands you need to know" list(a huge feat considering that mag's readership)! All that positive energy within the media and internet sparked a huge amount of touring opportunities for GIGAN...

2008-2010 saw GIGAN touring relentlessly in support of "The Order of the False Eye" with several high profile tours and over one hundred-plus shows. GIGAN has toured and shared the stage with Cattle Decapitation, Vital Remains, Misery Index, Psyopus, Lightning Swords of Death, Valdur, Book of Black Earth, SWWAATS, Threat Signal, Lecherous Nocturne, The Destro, Bleed The Sky, Enfold Darkness, Intronaut, Mouth of the Architect, Minsk, Zoroaster, Goatwhore and more!

Early 2010 saw Eric beginning to finish off the first songs for GIGAN's forthcoming second opus..."Quasi-Hallucinogenic Sonic Landscapes". Tapping the legendary extreme metal label Willowtip records for the worldwide release of "Quasi-Hallucinogenic Sonic Landscapes", GIGAN will certainly be busy supporting what will be soon be the current pinnacle of the GIGAN musical movement. GIGAN will once again return to Semaphore studios and Sanford Parker to record this new monster. Song titles like "Mountains Perched Like Beasts Awaiting the Attack" and "Suspended in Cubes of Torment" suggest that the concepts on this album are reaching further and further into the GIGAN Universe. This release will also be the first time GIGAN's music will be formatted to vinyl lp's as well as cd's! Thus, finally allowing the listener to fully appreciate the nuances of the GIGAN Universe! Featuring the same boundary-pushing extremity but also some new elements, instruments and approaches to delivery, "Quasi-Hallucinogenic Sonic Landscapes" will surprise and delight both new and original GIGAN devotees...and the legacy continues...

Macabre

Macabre blends elements of true crime, math rock, nursery rhymes, punk, thrash, folk melodies, death metal, jazz fusion, black metal and more into an energetic, catchy and unmistakable amalgam, refers to Macabre's signature style. It's a genre of one. The all-too-true tales of man's inhumanity to man are delivered with knife-edge precision, interspersed with Corporate Death's patented (back when he was a toddler) screech.

Fast and heavy, with a focus on things that make happy shiny people cringe, the original members, Corporate Death (guitar and vocals), Nefarious (bass and vocals) and Dennis the Menace (drums) are still together. Macabre have brought mayhem to the world in the past decade, playing dozens countries over the years. Macabre's rabid fans, including members of bands ranging from Carcass to Slipknot, relish the band's tight and increasingly sophisticated music; they exult in their musical chops as much as in the band's sense of humor, their killer music, and its deadly subjects.

Murder Metal is produced by grammy award winner Neil Kernon (Judas Priest, Cannibal Corpse, Queensryche). He did a masterful job on Macabre's 2000 magnum opus, Dahmer - a twenty-six song life story murder musical of the man who made Milwaukee infamous. Corporate Death, serial killer scholar and connoisseur, attended the trial, taking extensive notes that became the basis for the concept album.

Like Macabre's beloved 1993 classic Sinister Slaughter (Nuclear Blast), Murder Metal's 13 tracks encompass tales about a lethal assortment of serial killers and mass murderers. It spans the centuries, ranging from a ditty about the 16th century "Werewolf of Bedburg," through "Jack the Ripper" in the 19th century, to a host of more recent murderers like the "The Iceman" and the "Hillside Stranglers". The band revisits Fritz Haarman, the German butcher whose tasty sausages made unsuspecting cannibals of his customers. The new song is sung in Fritz' native tongue.

Macabre can also be heard as their alter-ego Macabre Minstrels (Macabre unplugged , featuring folk tales and children s songs with an evil twist.

Asked if he could make up any of these fiendish tales, Corporate Death admitted, "I could, but then it wouldn't be true crime." File Murder Metal under non-fiction.

People can quickly add PUTRIDITY to the list of bands coming out of Italy who are creating some of the fastest, hardest, and crushing brutal death metal in recent years. The follow up to their 2007 debut, the second overall album from PUTRIDITY is 24 minutes of continuous auditory punishment (or delight as some might see it) sure to please fans of Suffocation, Defeated Sanity, Disgorge, and early Decrepit Birth.
