a new vinyl sublabel will be started here shortly for limited vinyl of some willowtip releases. the vinyl will be of the highest quality and these releases will be ultra deluxe.

- 220 gram super heavy virgin vinyl
- glossy gatefold covers

limited to 500 copies in most cases, there may be colored vinyl for preorders which will be very limited. they will be $15 postage paid within the US.

the first release will be Rotten Sound - exit which will contain 2 bonus tracks not on the cd version (will be available for preorder on friday). following this will be the deluxe vinyl version of Crowpath's masterpiece Red on Chrome with more vinyl editions of willowtip titles to follow if demand exists and if this vinyl experiment is successful. you can PREORDER a copy of the vinyl version of rotten sound's exit in the store now.

Necrophagist Cancel Tours

"Due to health problems that will prevent me from performing on stageor leaving Stuttgart, NECROPHAGIST is unfortunately forced to cancel our upcoming tours with MORBID ANGEL and NILE as well as our own shows. The situation is dire enough that without cancellation of these dates the very existence of the band and my playing is threatened.

NECROPHAGIST and I were looking forward to bringing the Epitaph record to life for the first time, and not being able to do so is an enormous disappointment to us.

I am sorry to disappoint you, our amazing fans and supporters, and my fellow bandmates, who have been working intensely with an amazingly professional attitude and are eager to destroy the stage. I know this has been their big dream and a great opportunity, but the situation does not
allow me to continue for now. I promise to make sure I will get back on track as soon as my health allows, because I owe this to our fans and my bandmates.

Hailing from France , the extremely technical and brutal death/tech/thrash outfit now known as Gorod has signed to Willowtip. Formerly known as Gorgasm ( France ) the band has changed their name to Gorod to avoid confusion with the US based Gorgasm. The debut full length from Gorod "Neurotripsicks" previously only available in Europe will be issued in North America with 2 brand new tracks and an all new layout on July 12^th. Willowtip has licensed the new full length from NYC's The Dying Light for release in North America . Featuring former members of Cattlepress, Dim Mak, Ripping Corpse, and Hemlock the sophomore album from TDL titled "The Killing Plan" will be issued on July 26^th. The Killing Plan was recorded and produced by Eric Rutan at his Manna Studios in Florida .

Super fast, super pissed off Texas grinders Kill The Client are yet another band to be welcomed at Willowtip. The band is currently working on new material that will be released on their debut full length for Willowtip expected to be recorded in June. Kill the Client will also be appearing at this years Mayland Deathfest, Boston Doom and Grind Fest, and on a number of dates with Internal Bleeding and Bodies in the Gears of the Apparatus. Grindcore legends Phobia are another new addition to the ever growing Willowtip roster. With a slew of releases under their belt on many different labels including Relapse, Necropolis, Deep Six, and more Phobia have established themselves as one of the greatest and most respected grindcore bands in the world. The band is currently on a west cost tour with Rotten Sound and will still being writing material for their full length on Willowtip to be released later this year.

Studio time has been booked for Jim and Mike to begin recording the new EP in late July. It will be titled "A Diamond for Disease" and will contain the title track (which is over 12 minutes long) and a cover of Alice Cooper's "Roses on White Lace." The tentative street date for the EP is October 25th, and by the time this is out in stores, Jim and Mike will most likely be getting ready to enter the studio to record their second full-length album. Crowpath - Son Of Sulphur Update

Hey guys. This information comes straight from Crowpath's official website

At last!! Our recording session for our second album "Son of sulphur", is now completed. 10 days of sweat, broken microphones, headache and broken eardrums is over. The recording session was done with producer Andy Andersson in Berno studios (where bands like the Haunted, Amon amaranth, Insision among others have recorded their albums) in our hometown Malmö in the south of Sweden. The new recording is moore dynamic, both production wise and song wise than previous recordings. And we are sure that people will rise an eyebrow or two cuz some stuff that you´ll hear on "Son of sulphur" is quite different from earlier material. The album is something like 33 minutes and 12 songs long and the titles are: The will to burn, Children of boredom, Scab coated attraction, The lycanthrope, Seed of arson, Self destructive pessimist, Candles and kerosene, End in water, Pigeonsmasher, Chased, caught and charged, Picked clean and Lights out, left for dead
The artwork is done by Juha Vourma, the guy who done stuff for Usurper, Autopsy and lots of other metal bands. Mastering duties will be done by Scott Hull at Visceral sounds. Release dates for our little baby is, 22 of November in the US through Willowtip records. European boys and girls have to wait until early 2006 on the Earache release. And don´t forget to check out the videoclip we´ve done for the track "Protected by judas" from the "Red on chrome" album. Ceck it out on www.earache.com That´s all for now.

The January '06 issue of DECIBEL MAGAZINE (Josh Homme on the cover) came in today and we were treated to a nice surprise: Willowtip was named the "Upstart Label Of The Year" for 2005. Although the label has been around since the late 90's, it's great to receive recognition from a respected publication such as Decibel. Also, NEURAXIS and ARSIS made Decibel's Top 40 of 2005 at numbers 12 and 34 respectively.

After nearly two years of inactivity due to lineup problems, family commitments, and job responsibilities, Indianapolis , IN based HARAKIRI have announced their return. The band's previous release, 2002's Twilight Of The Idols appeared on year-end top 10 lists in many publications worldwide.
Drummer Kent Hiltz' has rejoined the band, thus fully reuniting the lineup that wrote Twilight Of The Idols. HARAKIRI is currently writing material for a new full-length album to be recorded in the Summer of 2006.

Neuraxis Lose Guitarist Steven Henry

Neuraxis have announced the departure of guitarist and founding member, Steven Henry. The move is the result of "personal and musical differences," though the band emphatically states that the split is amicable. The group will continue as a 4-piece with intentions to recruit a live session guitarist for their upcoming tours. For his part, Henry has released the following statement:

"After 13 years as guitarist and founder of Neuraxis, I decided to take a different path. It's simple, the flame of playing Neuraxis is extinct, and gone are the motivation and taste for it. These things happen, especially when I did not expect the band to go as far as it has gone up to now, so it would be ridiculous for me to slow Neuraxis down. I don't want to be a burden, what I want is the band to grow bigger and I don't think I'm part of that equation. I definitely need a break and Neuraxis cannot afford to lose its time waiting for me. There are way too many good things ahead for the band, and I do not worry at all that Neuraxis will do great without me. I wish nothing but the best for the guys, and also that they'll find another talented and dedicated guitar player. I want to thank the guys for their time, friendship and passion for music. I wish them the best! As for me, I'll keep going with my 3 projects: Urban Aliens, Idiopathetics and Empathy Denied."

More Details Announced For Necrophagist Canadian Tour

The Necrophagist Canadian tour has been confirmed and will take place in the provinces of Quebec and Ontario from June 1 to June 10, 2006. For their first visit to Canada, the German band will be touring with ION DISSONANCE (Canada), ARSIS
(United States), and ALARUM (Australia). The first official dates are June 2 in Montreal and June 3 in Quebec City. More details will be announced soon.

Circle Of Dead Children Lose Drummer

CIRCLE OF DEAD CHILDREN have issued the following update:

"Mike Bartek [drums] is no longer a part of CODC and for the indefinite time being we are forced into hiatus. We apologize to the promoters and bands we have had shows booked with as well as the fans, as we were about 3/4 of the way through the next full-length release. There was absolutely no way around this.

"Mikehad a list of 'qualities' that would have had him tossed from most bands, but friendship was what mostly kept him with us. This time he crossed way over the line and defecated on any concepts of friendship and respect possible and stooped lower than we thought even he would ever go.

So he is gone and an ugly part of the CIRCLE's past and, for anyone who has followed CODC through the years, we are once again in the situation of finding a new member. Joe, Jason and Drew have decided to continue on and feel that ultimately, Mike's departure will be a huge blessing in disguise for CODC. After three drummers, three bass players and three guitarists, the machine will hopefully continue on. Plenty of skulls still need crushed.

Arsis Preorders !!!

Arsis cd's are arriving here on Monday via UPS. We have a TON of preorders so in order to attempt to get them all out the day they arrive we began printing out all the shipping labels yesterday October 19th. When we print out the shipping labels it tells customers their order has shipped, however the cd will not ship till Monday October 23rd. The reason we are doing it like this is so we can have all the labels printed out and stuck on their bubble envelopes so we just have to drop the cd in to get them out fast. We don't even have the cd's from the plant here yet and as mentioned above they arrive Monday, so we are printing out labels early to try to get all the discs out as soon as possible to everyone, the day the cd's arrive.

Tshirts arrive Friday, Hoodies arrive Monday. We are trying to get this stuff out as soon as possible and everything should be out next week for certain.

Please note - if you preordered any Arsis material with other items the website will not notify you again that your order has shipped. We will post on the website when all orders have shipped and keep track of all the orders that ship.

Arsis cd's are in stores Nov 7th, we are shipping them out literally the day we get them to try to get them to fans ASAP. Fans that preorder will get the cd before anyone even reviewers, magazines, and websites.

Willowtip is extremely happy to announce the signing of Santa Cruz , CA 's technical death metal outfit, ODIOUS MORTEM . Consisting of members Anthony Trapani (CARNIVOROUS) on vocals, Joel Horner on bass, Dan Eggers on guitar, and KC Howard (DECREPIT BIRTH) on drums, ODIOUS MORTEM will enter Castle Ultimate Studios ( Oakland , CA ) with Zack Ohren this month to record their Willowtip debut, Cryptic Implosion . Made up of 11 tracks, one of which will feature a guest guitar solo by Ron Jarzombek (SPASTIC INK, WATCHTOWER), Cryptic Implosion can be seen as a natural, mature progression from the band's previous release, 2005's Devouring The Prophecy , on Unique Leader Records. The band comments on the signing: "We are honored to say that we are now part of Willowtip Records, a label that represents progressive metal of many styles". Cryptic Implosion will be released in early 2007.

WILLOWTIP is proud to announce the signing of Italy 's ILLOGICIST . Formed in 1997, " ILLOGICIST is a violent sonic combination of technical ability, rhythmic asymmetry, melodic sickness, and lyrical frustration, created to reflect a dynamic and emotional vision of suffering and introspection". The band is set to enter Aosta , Italy 's Dissonant Studio (owned by ILLOGICIST guitarist/vocalist Luca Minieri) in January 2007 to record their 2^nd overall full-length and first for Willowtip, The Insight Eye. Joining ILLOGICIST in the recording of The Insight Eye will be the "legend of extreme drumming" Marco Minneman . The album will contain 9 tracks of ILLOGICIST 's style of violent, progressive death metal .

Harakiri Loses Vocalist

HARAKIRI has parted ways with vocalist, Matt Reese. Guitarist Chris Morrison has issued the following statement:

"It's a sad day for Harakiri... founding member/vocalist, Matt Reese, has left Harakiri after 10 years. He's left on good terms, and we're all still great friends and always will be. We're really bummed though, because not only is he a dear friend, Matt is one of death metal's best lyricists and vocalists. He never took an easy approach to writing by telling tales of gore or other things commonly associated with death metal. His vocal delivery and lyrical wit was perfect for what Harakiri is all about. We are honored that he recorded two albums, a CDep, and a few demos with us. As far as Harakiri's future... the four of us will to continue on. We have the music for approximately 8 songs completed for our new full-length album. We plan to finish writing, secure a new vocalist, record the album, and get back to playing a few shows. So, we are looking for a new vocalist/lyricist... we are not your typical death metal band; therefore, we are not looking for a typical death metal vocalist/lyricist. Candidates must be at least 21, preferably at least a bit older. One must be able to show us some samples of lyrical writing style. One must be able to be in Indianapolis for practice up to a few times a month. Other things we're looking for can be discussed later. If interested, email us here."

Sometimes technical, at other times straight-forward and raw, AS EDEN BURNS seem poised to become one of the biggest and best bands in the genre while still being a relatively young group.

The band plans on entering the studio in late Spring / early Summer to record their currently untitled debut full length. They plan on touring extensively starting in the Summer of 2007.

HARAKIRI has begun auditioning replacements for singer Matt Reese, who left the band in January. The group has issued the following update:

"The search for a new vocalist is on. We've started the audition process. We have some good candidates for sure. We're hoping to wrap this up fairly soon so if anyone out there, who hasn't contacted us already, is still interested in trying out get with us asap. Or if you inquired about it but we didn't get back to you, message us again. Things were getting hectic there for a second and I am afraid some emails may have been missed.

We are steadily progressing on the writing of the songs for the new album (musically that is). We pretty much finished up another new one yesterday. We're anxious to get all this done and hit the studio and play some shows.

Anyway, we're alive and trying to push this forward as fast as we can. Once a vocalist is decided upon we'll throw up a demo track probably."

First of all, many thanks to all of the people who submitted for the harakiri vocalist position. We received some good submissions, and we really want to thank those who took the time for this. This was a very hard thing for us to do, and a tough decision to make. We love Matt as a friend and a vocalist, but we had to move on as 'kiri is still in our blood. We weren't looking for a weak imitation of Matt or someone trying to clone him otherwise. We were looking for someone with strong vocals, a viscious attack, and the ability to write interesting and intelligent lyrics. In our opinion the new guy would have some big shoes to fill. At this time, We'd like to announce Aaron Davis as the new member of Harakiri. His vocals, lyrics, confidence, and enthusiasm grabbed our attention from the beginning. I know its hard to add a new member to any band, especially a vocalist position, but we are confident he is more than capable of the job. Now hopefully he can put up with our shit. Please welcome Aaron to the band!

We are still writing for the new album. progress has been steady and as soon as we hash out these last ideas we'll be hitting the studio.

Oh, and guess what??? We're playing shows again. We are on Dudefest here in indy on July 28th (i think?maybe 27th? i gotta check). We will also have some other show announcemeents soon. Please get in touch for booking us. Not sure how many shows we will accept right now due to writing/recording so don't be offended if we say no, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Beginning in September, all Neurotic releases will be released in North America by Willowtip sub-label, Willowtip/Neurotic. The first three releases from this new partnership will be DISAVOWED - Stagnated Existence, VISCERAL BLEEDING - Absorbing The Disarray, and SICKENING HORROR - When Landscapes Bled Backwards. Following these three releases, Neurotic's entire back catalogue will also be released in North America gradually over the coming months .

As Eden Burns is currently in search of replacement for departing drummer, Taylor Steinberg. Here's the official word from the band:

"Taylor has left the group to pursue his college career full time. In a result we're currently looking for a full-time battle warrior to carry on with us. We will be entering the studio this year where Taylor will resume drummer for the week and take care of his final obligations to the band to record the drums for our Willowtip release. Impaled Signs Deal With Willowtip

IMPALED, purveyors of backwards-thinking medicine, have put their John Hancock on a contract with Willowtip Records, purveyors of forward-thinking metal. Following Willowtip's recent deal for European distribution, the new Impaled record will be made available in the Old World via Candlelight Records.

After touring worldwide to support their previous album on Century Media Records, "Death After Life," Impaled have been hard at work writing and recording a follow up record. The deal with Willowtip comes at a fortuitous juncture, just in time for the album to be released during Impaled's tenth year anniversary as a band.

"I'd like to say the new record is sicker and more brutal than the last, but I can't. Fact is, it goes beyond that. The new record is way way sickerer and way way way way way more brutaller," said bassist Ross Sewage on the subject of Impaled's latest recording.

Italian based classical death metallers Fleshgod Apocalypse have released the following statement:

Hi all,
With this statement we have to announce the split with drummer Francesco Struglia. We hope the best for him with his job and music careers. Considering how important the presence of a stable drummer is instead of a just having one for sessions, we decided during the last month to move on and give a new shape to the band. Since Francesco Paoli handled the arrangement of all drum parts and I (Paolo) wrote all the lyrics for the album “Oracles”, the best thing it seemed to do was start on playing what each one of us did for the album. This new recording line up is the result:

So, the end is upon us! After 13 years of making noise we are done! It´s been alot of fun and all that but the reason for not continuing with the band its the lack of ideas and creative drive. This is really a natural end, there is nothing more to be done.

We would like to thank our previous bass players Björn, Thomas and especially Dan for putting up with us through out the years. Thanks to all the cool bands, promoters and people we met and also a big thanks to Willowtip for being the coolest label around!

Erik and Henrik has a new band going on called Tellusian. Music will pop up on the web in a not to distant future.

Canada’s ELECTRO QUARTERSTAFF have completed work on their new album, entitled Aykroyd. Guitarist Drew Johnston offers his comments:

It may take us three years to write a record, but better late than never, right ? Our Aykroyd album is a 40 minute extract of musical punchlines that have been cracking us up in our jam space for the last three years as a supercharged quintet since the addition of our bassosaurus, Marty Thiessen. A guru of jazz funk hipcheck beatdowns, Marty furnishes the band with a luxurious layer of global warming which allows the trinity of rusty corkscrewed guitars to explore serpent coiled passageways and renegade escape routes through the dark halls of bittersweet harmony and dissonance.

The greatest difference between Aykroyd and Gretzky is the emphasis we've placed on blackened comedy in the attitude of our music. Strategic blast beat proton bombardment punctuates chipmunk cheeks full of hangnail shaped riffs which spontaneously arrange themselves into cosmic pentagrams of circus peanuts upon deployment. In other words, big laughs and bad vibes all around. Usually I'm sick of my own records by the time they're mixed and mastered, but Aykroyd still eats off the floor and lifts up my skirt like a deprived predator out on parole. The harmonies are still thick and tangled like peanut butter in shag carpet, and the delivery is dolphin meat in shark's teeth. Party's over.

Aykroyd was recorded by John Paul Peters at Private Ear Recording and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music. The recording will be released early Spring 2011 on Willowtip Records (CD) and War On Music Records (LP).

Maruta Ready To Unleash New Album

Miami, FL’s MARUTA have finished up work on their new album, and second for Willowtip, entitled Forward Into Regression. A release set has been set for February 22, 2011. Germany’s Power It Up Records will be releasing a gatefold LP version. A release date for the vinyl is TBD.

Vocalist Mitchell Luna comments, "So we finished wrapping up full length number two, and I can honestly say that we are all very proud of the outcome. We took the same open minded approach to grindcore as we have on our previous recordings, but incorporated a couple new surprises. The end result sounds more relentless, and I personally feel that it is a well rounded record that is equally emotional as it is abrasive. Stoked for it to drop!"

The album was recorded at Florida’s Mana Studios (Hate Eternal, Cannibal Corpse, Nile) by engineer Brian Elliot. It is Maruta’s first release with their new line-up. Drummer Daniel Morris and bassist Mauro Cordoba joined the band in early 2010.

Baring Teeth Sign To Willowtip

Willowtip is very pleased to announce the signing of Dallas’ BARING TEETH. Their debut album, Atrophy, will be released in early-Summer 2011.

BARING TEETH is comprised of Andrew Hawkins (guitar/vocals), Scott Addison (bass/vocals), and Jason Roe (drums). The band's sound melds progressive, technical death metal with strong atmospheric doom and avant-garde influences such as Gorguts, Dysrhythmia, Deathspell Omega, Playing Enemy, and KEN Mode.

Dim Mak Reveal Details On New Album

New Jersey based DIM MAK are currently putting the finishing touches on their new album, titled The Emergence Of Reptilian Altars. It's the bands first album since 2006's Knives Of Ice and will feature new vocalist Joey Capizzi. Lead guitarist Shaune Kelley comments:

"I would like to take this time to welcome aboard our New Vocalist Joseph Capizzi (ex-Dying Light, Cattlepress) to the Dim Mak family. I have known Joey for a couple decades so after being notified that Scott Ruth is stepping down I am proud to say I have the best man for the job. I would like to also thank Scott Ruth for 25 + years of amazing performances and lyrics in the extreme underground. You will be missed. But the time has come to usher in some new blood, fresh ideas, and new sounds. So fans of Dim Mak, please welcome to the mix on vocals, Mr. Joseph Capizzi."
