It was that time of the year again – The 12th annual Willys Picnic!

The picnic was held on Sunday, June 12th at the Number 9 Mine in Lansford, PA. and unlike other years, the rain showers actually held off this time. The show attracted many Willys owners, enthusiasts, and even non Willys owners from all over the East Coast to enjoy the day and to talk about both past and current experiences about their Jeeps.

While there were a lot of exciting moments at the picnic, one of my favorites (besides getting a pretty interesting mine tour) was being able to see the original “Nellybelle” Jeep. If you don’t remember, this Jeep was in the 1950s television show, the Roy Rogers Show. The “Nellybelle” Jeep was in its original condition and it took many of us event goers back in time to when we used to watch that show as kids.

It was no surprise that this show was fun for all who attended. It showcased over 50 Jeep vehicles, which varied from Military Models, CJ, Station Wagons, and trucks. Because there is always such a great turn out, this coming year, the picnic will actually be moved to Kempton, PA. This new location offers a bigger parking area and even a train ride for attendees. More details will be available at the beginning of next year so be on the look out!

Special thanks goes out to Bob Westerman and everyone who puts this show together for all of us to enjoy. Hope to see you there next year!

Dear Fellow Jeep Enthusiasts,

Recently, we heard from a few of our users and customers about some minor issues they were experiencing accessing Walcks4wd.com.

These customers were visiting our site from a search engine result page (such as Google or Yahoo!) after searching “Willys Jeep Parts“. They were then prompted with a window asking them to download something they likely shouldn’t. These users reported that their security software called the malfunction a “browser hijacking attempt”.

Fortunately, this minor issue happened to less than 1% of Walcks4wd.com users. Nevertheless, we launched a thorough investigation to ensure the safety, protection and privacy of our customers and users information.

The culprits of the hijacking software were discovered with their origins in Russia. Viruses were spread across the web and many sites were infected and information stolen, though luckily no data was stolen from our servers. Thanks to our irreplaceable internet people, your information was 100% protected. No customer or user data stored by Walck’s 4 Wheel Drive or any of our affiliates was compromised or ill-affected in any way.

We have reported this to various black lists, Google, and the infected hosts. Within 48 hours the problematic servers will be blocked, making the Internet safer than it was for all sites involved, including the less than 1% of our users who were targeted.

We have received confirmation from Google, McAffee, and Symantec (Norton) that our sites and services are still registered safe, and are protected. If you are concerned for your information, you can view the safety validation here.

Walck’s 4WD sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience this issue may have caused our users. We are dedicated to the security of our users information while still bringing you the best quality Willys Jeep Parts, at the best prices on the Internet.

Happy Restoring!

– Carl

A lot of Willys Jeep enthusiasts have problems getting their Jeep to start. This could be for many different reasons. But unfortunately, more often than not I see people misdiagnose their Willys Jeep starting problems. These people will sometimes try to fix problems that aren’t there. Well, it ends today Jeep Community. We’re going to address and hopefully fix all of your Willys Jeep starting problems.

The most common problem that I see with Willys Jeep starting problems is that starting components are mismatched. It happens all the time. Especially if your Willys has been pieced from several different places or you have a Jeep in a Basket. For example, you might have a CJ2A but your engine and drive-train components might have come from a CJ3A. If you’re shopping for willys jeep parts and buy starting components for a CJ2A, you will almost certainly have problems with your CJ2A starter because they match the model of your vehicle, but not the engine.

TIP: when you change you Willys Jeep Starter – always change your bell housing bushing at the same time.

Adding to this problem, many starters don’t have number tags or other identifying marks so you usually have to figure out which ones you have visually.

I will make sense of the combination of critical starting components for your Willys Jeep: the starter, bell housing, flywheel and ring gear.

MB, GPW & CJ2A

or vehicles with L head 4 cylinder engine

Autolite starter MZ4113 (has single electrical terminal on top)

97 tooth ring gear

9 or 10 tooth starter drive (they’re interchangeable)

CJ3A, Wagon, Jeepster & Truck (1946-51)

or vehicles with the L&F head 4 cylinder engine

Autolite starter MZ4162 or MZ4137 (both are mostly the same, MZ4162 is slightly longer)

124 tooth ring gear

bell housing is easy to identify – it has a manual linkage set-up on the top

CJ3B, CJ5, CJ6 (1952+)

or vehicles with F head engine

Autolite or Prestolite starter MDU7004 (most common), MDU7003, MDM6004 (required no bell housing bushings, integrated into nose cone)

129 tooth ring gear

larger bell housing to accommodate larger ring gear

We hope this resolves your problems with your Willys Jeep Starter. This post should help you make sense out of these common Willys Jeep Starter Problems. It is imperative that you always know, as well as you can – all of your Willys Jeep Starting components . If you don’t you could run into unnecessary issues. But if you do, we are here to help if you need it.

Happy restoring!
