FIFA 16, if I may invoke a broad stereotype, is a game that has perhaps a bit more appeal amongst the members of our UK team than it does with those in the US. But they're not here right now, and so it falls to me to deliver the game's system requirements, as recently revealed by EA.

Portable Steam Machine Gets Price and Release Window

If you've ever wanted to take your Steam library of PC games on the road, soon you'll be able to buy a device capable of doing just that. The Smach Zero, a portable Steam machine, now has an official release date and price.

Previously known as the Steam Boy, the Smach Zero will launch in quarter four (October-December) of 2016, and pre-sales will be available starting November 10. If you preorder it, it'll cost you $299. The company states that this price is only for preorders, and it'll cost a bit more if you wait until later to buy it.

In terms of form factor, the Smach Zero looks like a cross between a Vita and a Steam controller. It has an embedded screen flanked by two of the distinctive Steam controller circle pads, with four buttons on each side. The gamepad is configurable, as well, to suit different games.

The device has 4 GB of RAM, a 720p touchscreen, HDMI output, Bluetooth and Wifi connectivity, and 32 GB internal storage. As a Steam machine, it runs Valve's SteamOS, an operating system designed specifically to run Steam.

Other companies have also attempted to create portable PCs capable of playing your Steam games, with varying degrees of success. Razer, for example, opted to focus on fitting a lot of power into a small device and made the Edge tablet, which gives players the ability to play pretty much any game at moderate settings. The tablet, however, has a very short battery life when running games.

Hereos of The Storm - Review

I have been playing Heroes of the Storm (HOTS) for about five months and have played over 700 games. I enjoy playing HOTS because it improves in areas that other MOBAs have been lacking in. This review was written at launch.

The first thing that makes HOTS great is that the games are shorter. Games on average range between 15 to 25 minutes. This reduces the frustration that players experience in the matches, which reduces the occurrence of toxicity.

The second thing that makes HOTS a great game is that teamwork matters and the team’s members are not left out of the fun. The team shares the experience so no one is left behind as their team snowballs out of control.

The third thing that makes HOTS unique and great is that there are no items and no last hitting. Now I know some people love these things but I do not. While items can be fun they also contribute to increased game length, because players want to farm items to become excessively powerful. Last hitting seems to be unnecessary in a game without currency and it increases the burden on new players. Last hitting for experience gain would only increase the toxicity towards a player having a rough game. I think encouraging new players to join a game only makes it better.

Instead of items Blizzard has added talents to HOTS. At certain levels each Hero can pick between 4 talents, or at level 10 two heroic abilities. These talents allow for your Hero to become fairly unique, and encourages players to design a build they enjoy and that would benefit the current match. It is also worth mentioning you do not spec abilities in this game, they all gain power as you level up.

For Blizzard Fans the fourth thing that makes HOTS great is that the Heroes and maps are interesting! The Heroes are all from Blizzard’s other games, so you can know a great deal about their back stories. This may appeal to you or it may not. The maps also have different themes which helps keep the game fresh.

The fifth thing that HOTS does right is that it makes ranked play locked until player level 30 and requires players to have unlocked 10 heroes. Player level 30 takes most people more than 100 games to achieve. This prevents ranked matches from becoming a new players “learning experience” and prevents extremely toxic players, who get banned, from being able to play in ranked as often.

The last major thing that HOTS does right is that it is free to play and not pay to win. All the items that are bought only contribute to cosmetic apparel, or unlock access to more Heroes. New players get access to five free heroes right away and by leveling up as a player eventually get access to all seven. These Heroes are rotated weekly.

Gold is the in game currency and you earn it by completing a daily quest, winning or losing matches and leveling up as a player or an individual Hero. Some have complained the rate at which gold can be earned is too slow. However I do not feel this is the case, the game is free to play after all.

I only gave Heroes of the Storm an eight because I feel it is not perfect.

The matchmaking system still needs some work because some games are not matched very well. I have seen the system pair players poorly before, however Blizzard has stated they are monitoring the structure of ranked, so improvements are possible. Quick match also needs work because sometimes one team clearly has an advantage based on class types.

Through Blizzards attempts to reduce toxicity, which plague this genre, they have had to make changes that some may not like. For example there is no all chat and players can choose in the options to mute all teammates. However you can always send a private message after the game if you really want to chat. Toxicity is still present in the game’s community but I feel it is greatly reduced compared to other MOBAs.

Some people have also claimed that HOTS is not as “hardcore” as League of Legends and DOTA 2. This is probably true but I think it is still very competitive and fun.

At this point I would also like to note there are still a few balancing issues with Heroes and maps. Blizzard has already stated they are on top of it and will make any necessary changes. Considering the fact that Blizzard plans to add more Heroes and maps, the game will regularly change.

Overall I think Heroes of the Storm is a great MOBA. It has made me return to the genre and I am actually having fun. However HOTS does not reinvent the genre, it only improves on it. Ultimately the game is free to play so you can decide for yourself.

The previously announced new trailer for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V will be released this coming Thursday, April 2, Rockstar Games revealed today on Twitter. The trailer will run at 60fps.

Rockstar also shared one still--presumably from the trailer--that shows a blazing vehicle and bullet casings flying out of an automatic weapon. Check back with GameSpot on Thursday to see the full trailer.

GTA V was originally released in September 2013 for last-generation consoles. The game launched for current-generation machines in November 2014, selling 10 million units on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as of December 31. In all, GTA V has shipped a massive 45 million copies worldwide.

Software sales were strong for January, and the leader of the pack was, not surprisingly, one of the few AAA releases in January: dying light

Ubisoft publishes minimum and optimal PC system requirements for upcoming open-world game.

Ahead of Far Cry 4's release later this month, Ubisoft today published the system requirements for the PCversion of the game. These are listed below, broken down into two categories: minimum and optimal.

Notably, you'll need a 64-bit OS to run Far Cry 4 on PC. You can also watch a new trailer for the game above, which highlights the game's PC graphics, rending techniques, and more.

Assassin's Creed Unity Dev Working "Furiously" To Fix Issues

Ubsisoft is working "furiously" to fix the various bugs and other issues that have affected all versions ofAssassin's Creed Unity since its release on Tuesday, the developer writes in its forums.

"Our team is furiously working to resolve bugs and performance issues for Assassin’s Creed Unity on all platforms," a Ubisoft community manager wrote. The developer also clarified that issues with the PCversion of Unity are not AMD-specific, as was previously suspected.

This is not right

"We apologize for any confusion and want to be clear that we are working with all of our hardware partners to address known issues that exist across various PC configurations," the Ubisoft manager said. "We care deeply about a smooth and enjoyable Assassin's Creed experience and we will continue to update customers as these issues are fixed."

The Assassin's Creed Unity bugs were so significant that Ubisoft even launched a live updates blog where it provides up-to-the-minute reports about the status of the game.

Earlier today, Ubisoft released patches for the PC and PlayStation 4 versions of Assassin's Creed Unity, fixing things such as main character Arno falling through the ground and game crashes. Ubisoft notes, however, that players may still experience framerate issues and other performance problems.

Call of Duty Voted Best Franchise Ever By Guinness Book of World Records

As part of the release of the Guinness World Records 2015 Gamer’s Edition, the publication polled 5,000 gamers from 140 countries around the world about what their favorite video games are. The results are now in and Activision's Call of Duty series took the top spot, receiving more votes than Super Mario Bros., Minecraft, Grand Theft Auto, Halo, and The Legend of Zelda.

According to The Independent, voters were asked to name their favorite individual games, with these results then collated to form the top 50 video game franchise list you see below.

Exploring Far Cry 4's Sadistic, Complicated Villain Pagan Min

We talk with actor Troy Baker about his recently finished role as the psychopathic antagonist in the fourth entry in the main Far Cry series.

Pagan Min, the well-dressed, disturbing antagonist in Far Cry 4 is also voiced by one of the most prolific voice actors in gaming today. With recent, high-profile roles as Joel in the The Last of Us, the Joker in the Batman Arkham Origins, and Batman in Lego Batman 3, we talked with Troy Baker about what it takes to play a very different sort of character: the sadistic dictator Pagan Min.

In case you don't know much about Min, Ubisoft provided a quick summary of the "self-appointed King of Kyrat": Pagan Min was born in Hong Kong, the son of a mid-level drug boss in the Golden Triangle. His father was a small fish in a big pond and even as a young man, Pagan was as ambitious as he was flamboyant. This peacocking drove a wedge between them. Pagan worked for his father, hated him, and was frustrated as a lieutenant, seeing his father as a dinosaur. Nobody knows how his father died, but it wasn’t natural causes.

After his father’s unfortunate passing Pagan inherited his small piece of the pie. He then left his old identity behind and adopted the moniker 'Pagan,' naming himself after an old Burmese king who murdered his family to take control. Of course, he changed the pronunciation to be western so that he’d be more unique. Pagan quickly started carving himself more of the pie he believed that he deserved. He built considerable assets, a small private army, and started angering his allies in the heroin trade. He didn’t fit in and he knew he couldn’t kill them all; it was only a matter of time before the old guard decided to have him killed.

After an initial false start of PES 14, European PES 2015 demo will indeed be arriving on PSN and Xbox Live in a very short time. You can finally get an idea of the security before its scheduled for next November arrival.

The demo will therefore arrive precisely Wednesday, September 24, or in two short days on PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 The duel of the two giants of football will be held this year to the delight of football fans.
