There are few written words that resonate more in the hearts of American's than these penned by Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence. Although he must have realized the gravity of his words, he could not have foreseen the liberation that an evolving world would experience for generations to come from the American free spirit.

Many constitutions have been drafted using the United States Constitution as their guide. Countries have yearned, and been satisfied with, only a part of the freedom that we enjoy today. Governments have been overturned and tyrants replaced with a hope of peace and serenity that only responsible governments can facilitate.

We are grateful for the sacrifices that the Founding Fathers made in order to establish the foundations of a liberated people. They, with the help of their peers, ushered in the brightest era in the history of the world. Independence Day is a time to reflect on what this country has done in the past, and where it can go in the future. Patriots, we salute you.

Winco proudly manufactures in America. There are many advantages to outsourcing a workforce, but Winco remains committed to distributing an American product. We know that liberty depends on ideals, but it also depends on a country's ability to grow, innovate, and create. Many entrepreneurs and brilliant people have made America what it is today, and we hope to continue that same tradition, right here on American soil.

Producing Generators the Right Way

We live in a tumultuous time. The economy is not what it once was. It seems most manufacturing jobs are being shipped overseas to lower cost and lower quality. The income gap is growing and the middle class shrinking. The government is incurring debt that will probably never be paid off and society is a little pessimistic about the future of the country. Most Americans believe it will get worse before it gets better.

Despite current attitudes and conditions, Winco follows a different set of rules. At a time when it makes fiscal sense to pack up the factory and contract manufacture elsewhere, we remain committed to manufacturing in America. We take pride in producing quality generators in a rural community. There is value, beyond price-points and margins, to have communities that can make goods. There is a sense of satisfaction that comes from watching a product leave the shipping area and knowing the names of every individual who helped create it along the way.

The production workers at Winco are a great asset. Over 50 percent of the factory work force has been at Winco longer than 15 years. Ralph Call, CEO of Winco, has a policy that, "If you are loyal to me, I'll be loyal to you." Over the last 20+ years, he has stood by that and not laid off a full-time employee since 1991. Every day factory employees wake up knowing they have a job with a company that is successful and stable even during downturns.

In a world chasing the almighty dollar, we know that individuals come first. Winco will not grow beyond its means because it has a continual responsibility to the people it employs. There will be struggling times ahead, but we look forward to those challenges with a determination to excel while remaining true to our values.
