By definition, sustainability is the method of using a resource so it is not depleted or can be replenished. Sustainability reporting and sustainability metrics are methods used to measure an organization's approach and progress toward resource management. The official sustainability standards have been issued by the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board. Learn how they can be applied to a utility, hear practical utility applications, and help participants evaluate sustainable reporting methods and determine how it might fit with their utility's reporting model.

Attendees will learn about financing mechanisms that can be used to make energy efficiency and renewable energy projects economically feasible using utility community solar models, third-party vendors, green bonds, energy savings performance contracts, and utility energy service contracts. The mechanisms allow tribes to develop the projects with limited to no up-front capital costs, minimizing the need to include project costs in budgets or request Congressional appropriations. Topics include details of financing renewable projects, use of federal and state incentives, local resources, and partnerships that can help develop creative project financing terms and structures. The webinar will also describe tax credits and incentives available via the U.S. Department of Energy's Database for State Incentives for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (DSIRE).
,
