Hi Friends,

I am back with some new tricks. Hope you enjoyed the previous ones.
Here i am with new trick in which you can send an SMS to your friends through your GMail Account.
All you need to do is to activate this service.

Go to the 'Labs' tab under your Mail Setting.

Go below and find this Settings.
By Default this setting is disabled. So click on Enable and Save Changes.

P.S. - This Service is not available for India. :(

How to be Invisible in Facebook

Facebook is an integral part of our daily life. Sometimes we might get irritated through those people whom we dont like to talk and we either have to close our chat window or logout for sometimes.
Just like another messenger service provider Facebook do not provide the option to get invisible. But it has an another option through which we can select whom we want to see online.

Here are the simple steps:

1. Goto your Chat window.
2. Click on Friends list and you'll see an option saying create a new list.

3. Enter the name of your list and press Enter.
4. Your new list is ready now and you can add your friends name.
5. Now you can switch on/off your list as according to your wish and the other person will never come to know about your presence.
6. You can also edit your list whenever you wants to.
7. To edit your list goto the name of your list in your chat window and put your cursor on the list name, then you'll see an option to edit your list.

Hide Text in Notepad

Here's a trick to hide your text in the window's default text editor i.e. Notepad using Command Prompt :)
but this trick works only on NTFS File System.

Steps:

Open Command Prompt. Start--> Run and type cmd.
Now goto your desired location where you want to have your file saved. Lets say Desktop then type cd desktop and enter.
Now type in Command Prompt the following lines.notepad anyname.txt:hidden
Now type your data and save(Ctrl+S) the file.
Browse to the file location and Open anyname.txt, you will not be able to see any data.
To retrieve the hidden data open Command Prompt and type the same command notepad anyname.txt:hidden

Destructing Message - How to send self destructing message

U people may have watched in some sci-fi movie where a person gets a message for tha accomplishment of his mission which destructs when he read it out.
Even you may have got desire to do the same.
So the wait is over...Come out from the fantasy world and enjoy your dream...

Yes You too can send a Self Destructing Message to someone. I found Destructing Message a web service which does exactly that. It allows you to send email anonymously to a email address you want.

You could choose the message to destruct within 15 seconds as a minimum to a 5 minutes maximum.

The email is sent to the addressee but message is not show but a link is given to the person. Once you visit the link you can view the message and a counter counts down the seconds when the message will self destruct.;)

Integrated Multiple Yahoo Accounts Into A Single Account

I’ve integrated my two yahoo mail accounts into a single account it means I can use two or more yahoo mail accounts to send or receive mails from a single inbox. It can be more than 2 also. It will be beneficial in many cases like if you want to change your email address, you can still receive emails to previous account by integrating it with new account.

Steps:

Sign in to your yahoo mail account and go to Options -> Accounts
Now under Accounts tab, click on Add or edit account.
When you click on Add or edit new account, a new window will open. Click on Add button under that window.
After clicking on Add button, you have to enter your email address that you want to integrate.
When you submit the email address, Yahoo will send you a verification email to that email address.
Click on the confirmation link to complete the procedure.
That’s all. You’ve integrated two yahoo accounts into a single.

Now you can send or receive mails from two accounts using a single account :)

Restore Previously Open Files After Shutdown

If you need to access lot of folders on your home PC or on

network regularly, then you can set them re-open automatically

so when you will login, shutdown or restart your computer next time.

There is no need to open regularly used folders manually(it will save ur time)

, for this just have to configure the simple sitting,

your computer will automatically reload all the previously opened windows.

Note: By default windows XP disables this option to reload automatically all the previously opened windows, when you login on, shutdown or restart your computer.

Steps to configure your computer to reload previously opened folders automatically after shutdown.

> To edit this feature, you will need to be logged into your computer with administrative rights.

> First click on Start button then go to Control Panel.

> Open the “Appearance and Themes” option in control panel then click on Folder Options.

> A small windows dialog box will appear with the title “Folder options”, click on View tab.

> Under the Advanced setting section, scroll down to bottom and click the “Restore previous folder windows at logon” option and then click Ok button to save sitting.

> Now when you log off, restart or shutdown, your computer will automatically open the previously opened folders from the same location as before.

Block USB Devices

A simple registry TRICK TO BLOCK USB drives (do it with care)

1. Go to Start –> Run, type Regedit.
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlset\Servic es\USBStor
3. In the right pane, look for value Start and which have value as 0000000(3)
4. Double click on that and change that value to 4.

You might be required to restart the PC, and then you are done with it, USB is now blocked.

In case if you want to get the USB unblocked, just change the value again to 3

GMail: Send emails from multiple addresses using one Account only

I have more than one GMail Account, one for blogging purpose and other for my Programming purposes. Now i have found this trick from where i can change the 'From field' and send an email from any of my account. It doesn't matter in which account i'm logged in.

How to do this:

Login and goto Setting, Click Account and Import tab.
Under "send email as", click send email from another address.

A window will popup, it will ask you to enter the other email which you want to integrate.
It will now send a verification code and a link to the email address specified.
Sign In to the other GMail Account and click on the verification link or paste the verification code.
That's it. you're done!

Protecting PenDrive from Virus

this trick is not a new one, but it just need some sense of mind.
No need to use any software & hardware.

Lets Start from Basic.
How Virus Came Into Our PenDrive And What It Does?

The Virus first makes a file and then write its contents like what it need to initiate automatically.
It all happens through a file autorun.inf

So Here goes the trick to prevent the entrance of Virus into your PenDrive.

Open a Notepad File.
Copy & Paste this thing:

Save the file as autorun.inf
Now make this file Hidden & Write-Protected and paste it into your PenDrive

Note: Make a backup copy of this file. Do Not Format Your PenDrive. Incase, if formatted, paste the same file into PenDrive asap.

Disable Windows XP login prompt for password

This trick will show you how to bypass the login prompt in Windows XP with your "local account". Yes, it's only applied for local user accounts.

Most home users would love this trick. It allows you to bypass the login prompt on Windows startup and go straight to your desktop without a login.
This Windows XP feature is pretty cool in case the machine is mostly used by a single user. Is's kindda annoying when you're the only one using the pc and you have to login everytime, isn't it?

Use this trick at your own risks

Here's how:

1. From Desktop, Click on "Start" >> "Run".
2. Then type in "control userpasswords2" and press Enter.

But I have only 1 month trial setup....
How can i keep it for a long time.......
this is the question which most persons ask to me whenever i askd them to use Kaspersky...
So here i am with a solution for you people...

First download Kaspersky trial version from their site. Link is given below:

Once installed it ask you to register, skip this section and continue.

After reboot and computer is loaded up with Kaspersky,
click on "Settings"
godown to "Option"
and uncheck "Enable Self-Defence".
Click OK and disbale Kaspersky and exit the program.

Now goto Run prompt and type "regedit"

and go to this value:

Now scroll down to Product status in right handside pane.
Double click on "Product Status"
and change for "Release" to "Beta".
Exit regedit and refresh.

Now goto Activation
and there will be an new option
"Activate Beta Version"

Click this and you will get 30 days beta trial...
the best thing about this is that u can redo this process after 30 days.

Basically what we have done is fooling the Kaspersky server into thinking that you are using the Beta version of the product but in actual you are using the Release version that will give you all updates which you get in a Release version...

Blinking Text in Scraps

Hard Disk Encryption

If u uses Window Vista Enterprise or Ultimate and want to use the BitLocker Encryption, but your computer does not support the TPM module. In that case, u may use a USB stick or a memory card as the key medium, then u’ll have to force Vista to accept something other than the TPM module.
Steps are:

1. Goto Run and type ‘gpedit.msc’ and press Enter.

2. Now goto ‘Computer Configuration > Administartive Templates > Window Components > BitLocker Drive Encryption’

3. Now open up configuration windows by clicking on ‘Control Panel: Advanced startup Options’

4. In the ‘Settings’ tab select ‘Active ‘ and ‘Allow BitLocker without a compatible TPM’.

5. After clicking Accept , the BitLocker wizard (in Control Panel) shows the newly added option.

After this , do rest of the setting according to the instructions given in the control panel. Before encrypting any hard disk, make sure u have take a backup copy of ur disk.

Extend Window Vista Activation Period

Window Vista has a built-in Visual Basic Script which allows its user to increase the trial period of vista by 30 days. u can use this script a total of 3 times , hence extending the trail period to upto 120 days. The process is known as "Rearming".

Usage of this script will not result in any violation of Window End-User License Agreement.

How it works:-

1. Goto Start> All Programs>Accesories>Command Prompt

2. Right click on command Prompt and click "Run as Administrator"

3. It will redirect u to this location

C:\Windows\system32

If not, then move to this location.

4. Now type the script and hit enter.

Script is:
cscript slmgr.vbs -rearm

5. The command will take some time to execute and will ask u to restart ur system.

After restart u will see ur Activation period again to 30 days.

Note:-

The script will not work if the activation period has ended and vista has entered into lock down mode.

Let me show u where they are and how u can view them.

Steps:

1. In Menubar, Goto Tools>Options...

2. Now a dialog box appears.

3. Goto Security.(See Screenshot).

4. Now click on Saved Passwords. A new dialog box will pop-out like this:

5. Now click on Show Passwords. It will prompt a new window for your permission.

6. On clicking YES, ur saved passwords will be shown

Oops, WTF. What if sumbody else will get my password if he has access to ma system.

Dont worry, Here's d solution. For keeping ur passwords Secret, u need to maintain a Master Password to access them.

In this Dialog box, click on d check button saying 'Use a Master Password'

Now a new window will prompt and ask u to set ur master password.

Now if sumbody needs to see ur password, then he must have to enter the Master Password in order to view ur passwords.

Disable the Send Error Report to Microsoft

Disable Window Logo Key

Sometimes while playing games, this nasty Window Key keep annoyed us, cause we often clicked it.
So if u people don't wanna get annoyed with this key then u just need to disable it.
Disabling the Window Logo Key requires u to play with Registry Editor.

Convert FAT into NTFS

Converting to NTFS

Your hard drive must be formatted with a file system such as FAT, FAT32 or NTFS so that Windows can be installed on to it. This system determines how files are named, organised and stored on the drive. If you’re not using it already, NTFS (New Technology File System) is recommended for Windows XP because of the additional functionality it offers. If your PC came with Windows XP pre-installed then there’s a chance that you’re already using NTFS. If you’ve upgraded from Windows 98 or Windows Me you may still be using FAT or FAT 32. The option to change over to NTFS would have been available during the upgrade process. Don’t worry if you skipped this as it’s possible to convert at any time from within Windows XP without losing any data.

The recommended option

There are a number of features in Windows XP that will only work if the NTFS file system is present, which is why it’s suggested you make use of it. File and folder permissions, encryption and privacy options are just some of those you’ll be able to access. In particular, those of you who have set up user accounts will find NTFS invaluable. For instance, if you continue to use FAT or FAT32 anyone with physical access to the drive will be able to access the files and folders that are stored there. However, with NTFS you’ll be able to use a level of encryption (Professional Edition only) that will enable you to protect your data.

You’ll also find NTFS more reliable in that it’s more able to recover from disk errors than its FAT or FAT32 counterparts. A log of all disk activity is kept so should a crash occur, Windows XP can use this information to repair the file system when your PC boots up again. To find out what file system you’re using, open My Computer, right-click your main hard drive and choose Properties. Take a look at the General tab to see confirmation of the file system that’s in use.

Convert now

You can use the convert tool in Windows XP to change the file system on your hard disk from FAT or FAT32 to NTFS. The whole process is safe and your existing data won’t be destroyed. To begin,
1. Click Start -> Run
2. Type cmd and press [Enter].
3. At the command prompt type convert c: /fs:ntfs and press [Enter]
(where ‘c’ is the letter of the drive you’re converting).

When you try and run the convert utility, it’s likely that Windows XP will be using your paging file so the process won’t be completed immediately. Therefore, you’ll see a brief message on screen informing you that the conversion will take place instead the next time Windows starts up. Having restarted, the Check Disk utility will run, the conversion will be performed automatically and you may find that your PC will reboot twice more.

The benefits

With your drive now running NTFS, it’s time to take advantage of the new options that are available. Having created a number of different user accounts you can now control the level of access that’s granted to individual users. For example, there are going to be certain files and folders that you’ll want some users to be able to access but not others. If you have Windows XP Professional Edition you can do this immediately.

Right-click any file or folder, choose Properties and select the Security tab. A dialog will be displayed showing the names of all your users. Alongside will be two columns which enable you to select levels of access for each of them, the permissions include Full Control, Modify, Read and Write. You can then check the appropriate box to determine whether or not to Allow or Deny a particular permission. For Windows XP Home Edition users, the Security tab won’t be immediately available. To access this option you’ll need to restart your PC, pressing [F8] until a menu appears. Next select Safe Mode and wait for Windows XP to start up. You can then set your options in the same way.

Another feature is NTFS compression. It’s quick and seamless as your file or folder is decompressed automatically when you access it. (Don’t confuse this with a Zip compression utility where the files need to be extracted before they can be accessed.) Although you may have used NTFS compression on a file or folder, there’s no way of telling just by looking at it. To remedy this, open My Computer, click Tools -> Folder Options and select the View tab. Under Advanced settings, scroll down and check the option ‘Show encrypted or compressed NTFS files in color’, then click Apply and OK. Take a look at your compressed items in My Computer and you’ll see the text label has changed from black to blue. Something else that’s exclusive to Professional Edition users is the Encrypting File System (EFS). You can use this to protect your important data so that no one else can read it. Your encrypted files and folders will only be accessible when you have logged into your user account successfully.

E-mail Tracking

If you ever wondered whether mails you sent ever gets read or just sent to trash, you can use a mail tracking service like MailTracking.com which allows email tracking.

They send you a email notification whenever the recipient reads your email. Notification includes many details including following…

Date and time opened
Location of recipient (per their ISP city /town)
How long the email was read for
How many times your email was opened
If your email was forwarded, or opened on a different computer

Now how to use this service in simplest way…

Create an account with them first.
Then next time, whenever you send mail to abc@xyz.com just add.mailtracking.com to the email address. So in this case email address will become abc@xyz.com.mailtracking.com
Now whenever abc@xyz.com read your email, you will receive notification mail from mailtracking.com

How it works…

Basically the change in email address will route email through mailtracking.com' server.
They add a small (around 3×3 pixel) white image which is almost invisible to human eyes in email body. The image will be hosted on mailtracking servers and a unique image is kept for each email message.
So when someone opens email that image also get downloaded. Now mailtracking server logs the browser request for image (note that the request goes in background) and thus can mail you details which mentioned above.

Note:

MailTracking.com is not free. You can start with free account as I did. You get 25 credits(1 credit = 1 email) in free account.

Change Display Or Edit Friend Name In Gtalk

You can create or Chage ’display name’ in Google Talk that will appear instead of your username. This will affect your contacts’ Friends lists, but will not affect your orkut profile page.

To create a display name:

Sign in to Google Talk. Click Settings along the top of your Friends list. Highlight General along the left side of the window, and click Account settings. Click Edit next to Personal information.Fill out one or both of the First Name and Last Name fields. Click Save.

To see your changes, you’ll need to sign out and sign back in to Google Talk.Keep in mind that your friends have the ability to change the way your name appears in their own Friends lists, and you can rename your friends, also. Changing the names of friends never affects their accounts — the changes only appear in the list in which they were made. To rename a friend, right-click his or her name in your Friends list and select Rename.
