The new version of Windows 8 has been leaked. The new leak is 64-bit Windows 8
of M3 (milestone 3) build 6.2.7989.0 with full build string of 6.2.7989.0.amd64fre.winmain.110421-1825, apparently from winmain branch, the branch that typically get released as a beta, RC or RTM. The build version also indicates that the build is compiled on April 11, 2011. That almost two months
earlier, which means the development of Windows 8 now is almost closed to beta phase.

New features that been found on Windows 8 M3 include immersive UI (patched shsxs.dll for unlock required), new boot screen, new “Language Switcher” interface on Taskbar, new interface to enable or disable Windows functions, new Aero in “Metro-style”, new History Vault interface, and a new wallpaper. The build is also found to be much more stable that previously leaked builds. However, some features such as user tiles have been locked and hidden instead.

For people who interested, the leaked 64-bit version of Windows 8 M3 Build 7989 is now available for download via BT torrent.

How to Convert KIS 2011 UI from Chinese to English

The conversion of user interface from Chinese to English may not work for most users. Even if the UI is successfully been changed to English, the program will return license error and show that your computer is in risk, please reinstall.

Install the Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 Chinese version. The setup is in Chinese, but user can get it installed by virtually pressing the Enter key or the “Next (N), “Agree” (A) and “Install” (I) buttons. Enter the product key to activate the Kaspersky IS 2011 when prompted.
Open Kaspersky IS 2011 window, and click on “Settings” on the top right corner.
Go to the forth tab, and then click on the second item (Self Defense).
Uncheck (untick) the first check box (with an “E”) to turn off the Self Defense, and then click OK (far left first) or Apply (with an “A”) button at the bottom right corner.
Restart the computer, and on boot up, press F8 to go into Safe Mode.
In Safe Mode, run Registry Editor (RegEdit), and navigate to the following registry key:

note:-for 64-bits windows, the registry is under

On the right pane, double click on SkinSwitchDisabled and change its value date to 0 (from 1).
On the right pane, double click on Localization, and change its value to en.
Alternatively, restart the computer without changing the value. On Kaspersky IS program, press Shift + F12 keys to instantly switch the skin from Chinese to English.
Restart the computer.

Microsoft has officially launched the public beta program for Service Pack 1 of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

The first service pack for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 includes over 450 previously released hotfixes, bug fixes, incremental updates and security
updates to bring all system to latest support level. The SP1 also includes a few new features such as RemoteFX that supports HD video and full Aero user interface for remote users.

According to Microsoft, the Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Beta will help to:

* Keep your PCs supported and up-to-date
* Get ongoing updates to the Windows 7 platform
* Easily deploy cumulative updates at a single time
* Meet your users’ demands for greater business mobility
* Provide a comprehensive set of virtualization innovations
* Provide an easier Service Pack deployment model for better IT efficiency

The SP1 also contains an update to Windows Activation Technologies, KB971033, which intends to enhance the detection and accuracy of pirated and counterfeit copy of Windows operating system. Thus, for Windows 7 users who activated his or her copy of system with Windows 7 WAT cracks or Windows 7 OEM cracks, there is chance that you won’t be able to use the computer without been annoying with persistent message to go genuine after installing the service pack.

Though officially released, the Windows 7 SP1 Beta and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Beta is not exactly meant for general public. Instead, the public beta is targeted for IT pros, tech enthusiasts and developers who need to test the service pack in their organization or with the software they are developing.

Microsoft has officially announced and launched the public availability of Windows 7 SP1 Beta and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Beta during the Worldwide Partner Conference
2010. The Service Pack 1 of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 shares the same setup installer, and can only be applied on system running the final RTM version of the operating systems.

Although the SP1 of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 is now publicly available, note that Microsoft does not offer this early release of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Beta for home users, and installation
is not supported by Microsoft. However, everybody who wants to download and install
the beta version of SP1 can register at TechNet and be granted the downloads.

The official version of Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Beta and Windows 7 SP1 Beta is a of the same version with the leaked Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 SP1 Beta Build 7601.16562. Before you start installation do check these:-
S5 64 bit applications are so fast! I thought it would be useful to post step by step instructions (in following posts). You will notice that I recommend to "turn off Airport" during installation and to run "sudo dscacheutil -flushcache" after updating the /etc/hosts file. I'm not sure if these steps are necessary but I recommend to do so anyway. Also notice the link to Acrobat 9 Pro at the bottom of the post:

INSTALLATION OF ADOBE CS5
Disconnect from network/internet (Turn AirPort Off). Double click "Adobe CS5 Master Collection.dmg" to install the Adobe CS5 Master Collection. Whilst installing CS5, ensure that you choose "Install this product as a trial" and DO NOT enter any serials. If you've already installed CS5 applications using a serial, load any of the installed CS5 applications and select Help > Deactivate. Quit all of the installed CS5 applications.

TERMINAL
Launch a Terminal window (in /Applications/Utilities) and copy and paste:
sudo /Applications/TextEdit.app/Contents/MacOS/TextEdit /etc/hosts

Hit return and type your admin password.
The "hosts" file should automatically open in TextEdit.

TEXTEDIT
If the following lines are already part of the "hosts" file close it and continue with the "Finish" section. If not hit return (in the opened "hosts" file) and copy and paste following lines:

Download Adobe 9 Pro (not included in the CS5 torrent) from Demonoid
Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro can be installed by double clicking "Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.dmg". After installation is finished install the 9.1.0 update by double clicking the "AcroProUpd910_all.dmg" installation package.
Launch Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and enter the following serial:
1118-0011-0841-2246-4404-1353

Run Adobe Acrobat > Help > Check for Updates? multiple times until Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro is up to date.

I just wanted to add a few extra notes. In my notes (above) I show which applications, folders and files to remove to start with a clean system. A few notes:
1) / is the system root folder (which you can find in Finder by clicking on the hard drive icon at devices)

2) ~ is the User folder (which you can find in finder by clicking on the home icon at places)

3) I strongly recommend to delete the "/Library/Application Support/FLEXnet Publisher" folder if you have old Adobe applications installed. Keeping an old version of this folder can cause a variety of licensing errors. It will automatically be regenerated with the CS5 installation.

4) Obviously, if you're attached to your old Adobe application preferences, don't delete the preferences files in the system and User libraries. There is no harm in doing so, they'll be automatically regenerated but by deleting them you will loose your user preferences. I prefer to start with a clean system but that may not be the case for everybody.

5) Acrobat: If you follow the "removal list" in my first post you will also get rid of Adobe Acrobat. You can get the latest version from Demonoid (on the Demonoid website search for "Acrobat Pro 9.0 + 9.1 Update + SN").
