Great day at the WCF Youth and Open events.
More then 75 fencers showed up at Y 11, Y 14 and the Open event.
WCF fencer Cam Woods / on the pick/ won the Open and received $ 100 equipment gift sert .

Day 3 at Summer Nationals ,Reno 2001 / NAC for Cadets/ and 2-nd medal for Windy City Fencing.
Briliant performance for Mason Speta. Silver medal in Cadets. 15/14 at the final bout after 5 doubles... wooooooow.
"That was Mason's best day ever, Coach Tsanko Hantov said. Solid fencing at the whole event. She neaded a litel bit of luck for the final touch, but hei, can't ask for more........"

Nationals 2011, Tsanko Hantov and Harrison Macrea

After great day in Juniors ,Harrison Macrea got a medal in Cadet mens epee. Great result for Harry.
He had to fence 8 DE bouts to catch the podium position.
The young man fenced realy ,realy good and lost only to the guys that placed first and second after all.

WCF fencers , coaches Tsanko Hantov and Iliya Mechkov on the way to Reno ,ready for Summer 2011 Nationals .
The club is sending 26 fencers to compeat in Reno in the next 10 days. Fencers from the age of 9 to 20 will take a part of the bigest event of the 2010/2011 season.
"I think, coach Tsanko Hantov said, that everyone is ready. We had a great year. All of the kids realy worked hard. We tryed to do it right. Everyone was doing SYC, NAC , Pre-Nationals camps in Chicago and Houston. Lets see what will happend, but I am just positive about it...GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US "

A few days before the leaving ,the club had a big GOOD LUCK PARTY with all of the fencers and parents.

WCF coaches Tsanko Hantov and Iliya Mechkov have run Pre-Nationals camp

Five days intencive fencing camp was run from the WCF coaches Tsanko Hantov and Iliya Mechkov. Around 15 fencers from WCF, MCFC, EDL and ISUFC participated at the event.
This was first week of the two Pre-Nationals weeks for the club.
Tsanko and Iliya have run a lots of footwork, drils,conditioning and bouts.
The fencers had a lots of fun and a great work out.
Next steap is Houston Mega Camp with Alliance Fencing Academy.

Mason Speta and Tsanko Hantov on the way to NY

WCF Gold Team member Mason Speta was invited form NYAC together with the top 12 High School women epee fencers to fence in a round robin to a DE of 8. Then direct eliminations until they will crown the champion.

The club is honored to send Mason and coach Tsanko Hantov to New York.

More then 50 fencers compeated at the WCF 2011 Fall Tournament.
Coaches Tsanko Hantov and Iliya Mechkov were very happy with the results.Great event for All Y12, Y14 kids as well at the one compeating at the Open event.
