Journaling is something I practice....It takes me on my personal journey in my work.
I hope you can enjoy these few snapshots into my art world.....

This piece is a combo of ink, pastel, watercolors and gouache . I call it BELLS

This one includes some quick sketches in my new ink pens.

My final one is a river flowing. I feel it has a Japanese flair. This piece is done in marker, colored pencils and water soluble chalk pastels.

Tea and Scones

Teapots and sweets are alway a joy to paint, collage or just draw. Here a few of my watercolors and gouache paintings..I remember as a child going to the neighborhood bakery and my Grandmother buying petite fours, bringing them home and putting on a pot of tea. Such comforting rituals are always welcoming..perhaps that is one reason for the love I have in collecting and painting teapot still lives

Spring light

I love spring,

Everything seems so magical.

Plants awaking from the long winter,

birds nesting.

These are two of my newest spring paintings/drawings

I used some awesome Inksticks and paint markers on these two.

They are painting on clay board which is backed with massonite.

They are 5x7 and $ 55.00 @or $ 95 for the pair.

I have been so focused on these Fantasy villages or Houses. I am not sure where the inspiration is coming from perhaps my sheer happiness of my life right now. I love playing with the bright colors and patterns. Its another phase I must go through in my artistic process. I must say I am enjoying the playfulness of it all.....

I just am have plain fun!

They are fuzzy they jump anywhere they please
They cry to go into one room and cry to go out of another
and sometimes they just cry
They cuddle and purr.....Okay yes I am talking about cats
and I have 3....Azra (below) is part Maine coon cat and loves getting a bath

On January 30, 2014 I married the man of my dreams, Doug Grant. We meant about two and a half years ago in Stowe Vermont. It was a beautiful sunny day and he invited me to go to his place of work, The Lake Mansfield Trout Club where he is a chef.

After driving down the long winding dirt road I came upon this rustic lodge and the lake surrounded by mountains. If was the perfect first date. When I finally meant Doug something clicked I meant really clicked. His eyes, his smile I just knew he was the "one".

Two and a half years later I had total knee replacement surgery and was on bed rest for 8 weeks which meant reading and watching Tv. I began watching the Steve Harvey Show and found him funny and also learned that my future mother-in-law also enjoyed watching him.

I became addicted to the show watching it everyday and eventually "liked" his facebook page.
While I was checking my FB page one day there was a request for couples who have found true love to tell there story. So I did. A week later I received a call from the Steve Harvey Show. We were chosen to represent Vermont to be married on the show with 49 other couples. Crazy right????

In the middle of the this excitement and shock Doug's Mom was very ill and in the hospital.
She wanted was to be married and knew how much we loved eachother. We were torn about excepting this offer to go to Chicago and get married on TV.

I am a true believer that things in the universe happen for a reason. This was all planned out.
Shirley wanted us married, she was in the process of dying and I felt this would ease her passing.
She liked the Steve Harvey Show and we wanted to be married. So we did and we had the most beautiful fairy tale wedding with 49 other couples that all wanted what we wanted, to be married.

When we returned as Mr. and Mrs. Grant I know Shirley was happy. I am so sad to say that she passed away about a month after our wedding. I am so glad we were able to fulfill one of her wishes.
I am so blessed to have Doug in my life.

Old Cape Cod

The beautiful Cape cod Bay. Sunset ah so luscious

So often when at the Cape i am inspired by the colors

of the ocean, sand and sky. This may show up in my jewelry designs or paintings.

I love the thought of collecting sea glass by the shore but those days seem to be in the past. Still

the few pieces that I have collected over the years have beckoned me to paint them.

So I completed the third roots painting. The colors remind me of rhubarb. I think for my next one it will be larger with hints of green.

Every spring went the little plants poke their heads out I see glistening colors. Chocolate browns, Merlots, plums, then a shock of green. These two paintings along with my sketch book paintings are inspired by such colors of the mysterious moments of spring.

So fun on a cold Sunday making jewelry from found.....you got it trinkets and treasures. These are the days I miss my mom. We use to scour thrift stores, flea markets, garage sales finding stuff. Buttons, chains and gems. I know she would love these new pieces I have made I hope you do too.

Snow Water

A fastidious brewer of tea, a tea
Connoisseur as well as a poet,
I modestly request on my sixtieth
Birthday a gift of snow water.

Tea steam and ink stains. Single-
Mindedly I scald my teapot and
Measure out some Silver Needles Tea,
Enough for a second steeping.

Other favourites include Clear
Distance and Eyebrows of Longevity
Or, from the precarious mountain peaks,
Cloud Mist Tea (quite delectable)

Which competent monkeys harvest
Filling their baskets with choice leaves
And bringing them down to where I wait
With my crock of snow water.
