Bio

Obzen was formed in october of 2010 by members of local area bands such as Skylines, Disruptor, These Lights Above us, and Put Her In The Trunk. The band wrote 5 songs in that month and played their first show on Halloween october 30th.

After that the band went on hiatus for a little bit with members returning to their other bands. After a little while Zach, Dave, and Kevin got back together and started working on a full length album.

Obzen blends elements of hard rock and metal with ambient and experimental sounds. This blend of different genres and writing, and style is geared for the mind, body, and soul. With the belief that through music the soul can be freed and enlightened, and well as being able to rock out!

Free Cannibelle Shoot Wednesday

The first ever FREE Cannibelle photo shoot is happening this Wednesday, Sept. 21st at NOON with Jake Gundrum Photography! We are looking for new and existing Cannibelles to come out and do a set. Individually or with a co-Cannibelle and a few group Cannibelle shots.

Cannibelles need not have a background in modeling. We take all Wisconsin has to offer from first time, amateur to full-blown professional.

Bring whatever wardrobe, make-up and props you want. Sets are limited only by your own imagination. Anything goes EXCEPT full nudity. Topless OK.

Weather permitting, we may take a field trip to the Riveredge Nature Center for some outdoor sets.

Being a Cannibelle does not come with any obligations and is not a paying gig. Wisconsin Sickness does not make any money from your photos. It is all about supporting, promoting and empowering dark and underground WI art, and sometimes you just have to make it happen!

Jack Gets Banned Again

Jack the rampaging trunk leg has struck again!

The tragic tale of Jack began several years ago when my neighbor was going to throw him away. I had always wanted a trunk leg of my own, so I gave him a new trunk to hang out of. Not long after, bad things began to happen.

While on her way to work, my wife was pulled over in Port Washington. She was the subject of an ABP put out in Saukville because concerned citizens were calling the police. Following a mandatory investigation, Jack was forced to be hidden away like a shameful, dirty thing.

Now, two years later, the onset of the Fall season warmed my heart. I decided Jack should have his freedom back for one last Halloween before he retired to the wall above my computer.

Then, this afternoon a cop showed up at my door. I love when they show up unexpectedly, like the time the West Bend Police Department sent six officers to arrest me on a warrant for stolen library materials. Which obviously I didn’t do, unless I strike you as the type to check out Benny Hill videos and Islamic books. But I still went to jail and paid $600 for it.

This time, though, was different. Jack had once again put people in tears. My dear concerned neighbors feared a small child had become trapped in my trunk. Not just one neighbor, mind you, but several had called the police about Jack. The fake fucking plastic foot.

So Jack has now been banned in three towns.

Sure, I could leave him out. At the risk of a $200 disorderly conduct fine if he terrorized one more fine, upstanding citizen.

I’ve wanted a trunk leg my whole life. It was my own personal Holy Grail. But apparently no one in the Western world has ever seen one before. The logical conclusion is that there is a body in my trunk and I left a leg dangling out. So, since I’m way too poor to pay a fine, I guess Jack goes into early retirement. Sorry ol’ buddy.

I urge you, citizens who aren’t brain dead idiots, rise up! If we all have trunk legs, then we can call the police for being disturbed by those without one.

TeslaCon II

The second TeslaCon, a full weekend steampunk convention with bands, artists, panels, adventure and more, is happening in Madison November 18th-19th-20th, 2011.

Ticket prices range from $30-$50, and from the sounds of it will be well worth it. If I wasn’t a poor bastard, and/or had any kind of steampunk gear, I would definitely be there.
