Understanding The Profound Implication Of Galatians 2:20

"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." (Galatians 2:20)

An in-depth study of Gal 2:20 brings to fore one little-noticed, if not altogether missed, critical aspect of Salvation, and that is: DEATH and BIRTH.

The Apostle Paul, in as few words as he could state it, drove home the point of the need to DIE first, followed by BIRTH to a new life, as requisite to Salvation.

It's all in the figurative sense but essentially, it has the effects of the real thing, when the implications are considered, applied and accepted as the new reality of life for the person who takes seriously his calling and desires to meet Jesus Christ when He returns and follow Him wherever He goes. (Rev 14:4).

There are no gray areas here. Either you are dead and born into the new life that will guarantee your place in the Kingdom this stage of your life or continue living, business as usual, and wait for Judgement Day -- a slippery slope and a very risky business.

Listen to Paul speak about "death" and being "alive" in no uncertain terms:

"Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus." (Rom 6:11)

What was he saying here?

Simple. When one is dead, he's dead. He is not reformed, transformed or reborn. He may be alive in the body but his old sinful self, along with its worldly interests and desires, habits, attitudes, propensities, inclinations, etc., is factually and effectively dead -- discarded for good.

But he will be BORN into a new life. No longer his old self rising like the mythical Phoenix but he is granted the great honor and privilege to be born into a new, totally different life -- the very precious life of Jesus Christ, just a very tiny part of His life that will grow with the passing of time, but remember: that microcosm of Christ's life that you will be born into is way BIGGER than the sum total of your old self now dead. How so? Because the sum total of Jesus Christ's life surpasses in size the sum total of that of the entire human race.

Now for the question: Will the "newborn" person no longer have free will or the capacity to think, decide, act and do things independent of GOD? Will he be like the robot doing only what it has been orogrammed to do.

Definitely, the "newborn" man retains that capacity to think and act freely as he wants to (like Paul and his fellow apostles and yes, the angels) but being conscious of his new state of being -- that the life he lives is not his to do with it as he pleases -- he is no longer inclined to exercise it outside of what the Holy Spirit prompts, inspires, motivates and directs him to do. The very attributes of Jesus Christ are progressively etched in his consciousness until these become his nature as he grows into maturity.

THIS IS NOT AN ATTEMPT to form a "tithe-collecting" worldly religious organization. Nor are we recruiting you to form one. We are simply seeking out our fellow "other sheep" of Jesus Christ.

Can Life Be Any Better In 2021?

In the wake of all the myriad troubles happening left and right in the world now, is there any reason to be hopeful in 2021?

If anything, what happened in Washington DC, USA, on Jan 6 set the pace for events that we can, more or less, expect to happen in the world this year.

Life is not going to get any better, that's for sure. Get ready for the worst. The sorrows have just begun. You're a lot better off when you're prepared to deal with a situation or situations happening simultaneously, than when you're not. Be proactive, not reactive.

And how are you going to do that? The answer can be found in Psalm 91. Read it. Take it to heart and things will go well with you. It did with me when I went through hell some time back (reason why I kind of abandoned this Blog for a long while).

I'm back to blogging again because of Psalm 91 and I look forward to more posts this year.

My friend thinks he is smart. He told me an onion is the only food that makes you cry, so I threw a coconut at his face.

On Thanksgiving day, a little boy overhears his mom and dad fighting. He hears his mom call his dad a bastard and hears his dad call his mom a bitch. He asks, "Mommy, what does bastard mean?" She answers, "Um, it means boy." Then he asks, "Daddy, what does bitch mean?" He says, "Uh, it means girl." Later that day, the boy sees his father in the bathroom shaving; the dad accidentally cuts himself and says, "Sh*t." The son asks, "What does that mean?" The dad says, "It means shaving cream." Then he sees his mom in the kitchen carving the turkey; she accidentally cuts herself and says, "F*ck." The son asks her what that word means and she says, "It means carving." That evening, the family's guests arrive for Thanksgiving dinner. The son opens the door to welcome them and says, "Welcome bitches and bastards! My dad is in the bathroom rubbing sh*t on his face and my mom is in the kitchen f*cking the turkey."

A man walks out on his front porch one day and sees a gorilla in the tree on his front lawn. He calls animal control and about an hour later a man shows up with a ladder, a pit bull, and a shotgun. The animal control employee tells the man, "I'm here to get the gorilla out of your tree. I'm going to use this ladder to climb up the tree and shake the branch the gorilla is on to knock him to the ground. The pit bull is trained to go after anything that falls from the tree and bites their balls which calms the animal down so I can put him in the truck." The man says "Okay, I see what the ladder and the pit bull are for but what is the shotgun for?" The animal control employee says, "Oh, that's for you. In case I fall out of the tree instead of the gorilla, shoot the dog."

GOD originally intended that our first parents WORK, not for daily sustenance that they may live but to be co-creators with HIM ... to create and beautify the earth and enjoy life. That explains why man, compared to animals, can design and build. They did not have to worry about food or clothing or shelter because GOD would provide all that they needed to live. HIS only condition was: that they obey HIS commands and walk HIS way.

Enter the author of lies, the Devil who deceived Eve, who, in turn, (enticed, tempted, seduced, persuaded [pick the appropriate word]) Adam who didn't know better than lower his defenses, lose control of his faculties and give in. He turned his back to GOD and willfully disobeyed HIM all for a bite of the ... you know what.

As a consequence of this transgression (Law of Cause and Effect), the undeserved, abundant support from GOD to sustain life was withheld and for man to toil all day to put food on the table. And it has been so through the ages down to our time.

But ... unfortunate and sad that one act of our first parents might have been for humanity, GOD did not totally deprive man of HIS blessings of wealth, vibrant health and happy, fulfilled life if he turns from his rebellion, repents of his crooked ways and choose to follow GOD. We get a glimpse of this in the lives of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, David and Solomon who worked not for sustenance but to help others in accomplishment of GOD's purpose in creating man which is to do GOOD WORKS.

What this means is that meaningful success doesn't come about by our own efforts at work though by the work of our hands, we may enjoy comfort and acquire great wealth and material possessions. Meaningful success that equates with happy, healthy, wealthy, successful and fulfilled lives is a blessing from GOD.

And ... it all begins in the mind.

Don't Wait Till It's Too Late

One of the keys to successful relationship is fluid, highly interactive communication. Love may be present but if it is not conveyed properly, may not only be misunderstood, but could elicit animosity, if not outright hate. Take the case of a father, for example, who, no doubt, loves his wife and kids but is overbearing towards them and intolerant of mistakes, even little ones. Or the child who could be likened to a sponge who soaks up everything thrown at him, and doesn't speak his mind, until he can't absorb any more and explodes to violence.

Life is too short we need to make the most of the little time we have with our family, our friends and the people around us. Let's take time, everyday, to appreciate the beauty around us, to talk and to listen, to accentuate the positive and throw away the things that destroy. Let's build bridges and break down walls. Let's do it while we still have time. Tomorrow may be too late.

When A Father Makes An Impact In His Son's Life

"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."

The above quotation is from the Book of Proverbs of the Holy Bible. It's one instruction that parents would do well to take heed.

In my post today, I would like to zero in on the father-son relationship issue because of the crucial role MAN plays as head of the family and as the principal figure in society and the world at large. This is is not to underrate what women could do in what is generally regarded as man's turf for they are just as capable, if not better, as great women leaders of the world have proven. Still, we have to recognize and accept the fact that God decreed that man assume the primary role in determining the course of human affairs; reason why He created man (Adam) first. And He will hold man accountable for it.

We, fathers, therefore, are responsible for the molding of our sons into what God intended them to be. We shirk that duty and we will have our sons growing up less than the men that they should -- and ought to -- be. And when that happens -- as we see happening now -- we can expect our boys to be poor performers compared to girls, effeminate if not downright gays, cowards, wimps. You wouldn't want your son to be called "chicken," would you? You wouldn't want to see your son babysitting the kids at home while his wife goes off to work to put food on the table and calls the shots in the house, would you? You wouldn't want to see your son ruin his life and go down to his grave disgraced and scorned by society, would you? And certainly, you don't want to see your son sleeping with another man doing what is detestable in God's sight, do you?

Why do we have so many men turned into women these days? And they show it off, very proud that they are what they have become, unnaturally. I dread the day when we see straight men outnumbered by gays. It's a world turned upside down. It's Sodom and Gomorrah once again ... on a worldwide scale.

Why? Because of father-less households where boys are reared by their mothers alone or with abusive surrogate fathers. Their biological fathers are nowhere in sight either because they are irresponsible bastards themselves who do not want to have anything to do with family life or are kicked out of the house by their wives for being less than the husbands they expected them to be. What do we expect these boys to become, in such situations? Soon, these boys will sire sons who are likely to follow in their footsteps; the cycle is repeated over and over and the result? A degenerate society that will go the way of ancient Sodom and Gomorrah.

Hello again. Feels good to be back writing and sharing my thoughts with you.

You must have noticed the title of my post is enclosed in quotation marks. That's because it's a borrowed title ... from one of Simon and Garfunkel's hits, of the same title. Beautiful song with a timeless message.

"People talking without speaking,

People hearing without listening ...."

How can we better describe the way people relate to one another than by those lines from said song? As Art Garfunkel, in singing the song with Paul Simon during one of their live performances, said: " ... what you see around you is people who are unable to love each other."

Indeed.

The word "love" is the most abused word in the English language, don't you think? It has become so common it doesn't seem to mean anything anymore. Too often we say "I love ..." when what we really mean is: "I like ...."

Have you thought of truly loving -- in the real sense of the word -- lately? Good if you did because most people don't. And the reason they don't is because they don't hear the "sound of silence." They are lost in the din of their preoccupations.

It is in silence that we can hear ... that we can think deeply ... that we can imagine vividly ... that we can be filled with wisdom "from above" ... that we can better ourselves.

What good would all the knowledge we've acquired (there's no lack of it in this age and time when we have the Internet for ready access) be if we don't have wisdom, understanding and discernment?

I can go on talking about these things but I'd rather leave it to you to consider ... to pause for a moment and ponder as you listen to The Sound of Silence.

Of Friends and Friendships

Friends are "dime-a-dozen." Anybody can be our friend just as we can be a friend to anybody. For as long as we interact -- and relate -- with people, we will always have friends.

But haven't you noticed that although we do not intend to do so, still, we do not treat everyone of our friends equally. There are those we regard as good friends, or "close friends" and perhaps one or two whom we call, "my best friend." The differentiation just comes naturally without any conscious effort on our part.

What do you think makes our friends distinct from one another so that we deal with each one of them based on our perception of who and what each friend is?

Is there such a thing as "real friend"? If so, what makes a real friend ... and what makes true friendship? Does it come by definition or criteria? What is our yardstick in determining who is who among our friends? Good looks? Intelligence? Personality? Sex? Race? Humor? Influence? Money? Character?

In the first place, why do we want friends ... and what do we want them for? Is it some basic need that needs to be satisfied? Are we so created that we can't live without friends?

And why is it that friendships could sour in the course of time? Are they not supposed to get better as time passes like wine getting better as it ages?

Why ... why ... why?

Please bear with me but I think it is not being naive asking such questions. You see, it is not normal that relationships should sour or go bad. There are universal laws that govern human conduct notably the Law of Cause and Effect.

Nothing happens without a cause and every cause has a corresponding effect. Good begets good and the opposite is just as true. There is no way that we can go around that.

Usually, the cause of soured relationship is pride and offense. I don't have to elaborate on this because it is self-explanatory. Besides, I think it is safe to say that everyone, except the toddlers still in diapers, has experienced this fact-of-life enough to understand.

So ... what are we supposed to do if we want to keep our friends for life and our friendship to stay sweet -- and last -- forever?

The Book of Proverbs has the answer:

• Pro 17:17: "A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity."

• Pro 18:24: " A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother."

• Pro 22:11: "He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend."

• Pro 27:9: "Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel."

• Pro 27:10: "Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off."

• Pro 27:14: "He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted a curse to him."

"What Is Man?"

Hello again, my friend. Nice to be back with another blog post that ...

... could be appreciated or ...

... ridiculed, sneered at, scoffed at.

No matter. Can't please everyone anyway.

But you, my friend ... have you ever wondered what you ... or every man, woman, and child for that matter ... are, in the grand scheme of things on this planet -- the only green orb that can sustain life out of the billions and billions of heavenly bodies in the vast limitless universe?

Are there beings out there who can be like us in any way?

Three or so millennia ago, King David, the man GOD called "a man after my own heart," looked up and beheld God's glorious works in the heavens one beautiful, starry and moonlit night, and pondered: “… what is man that thou art mindful of him, and the son of man that thou dost care for him?” (Psalm 8:4).

Indeed, who or what are we before God? Puny men that we are, do we matter to Him at all?

Hundreds of years later, in his letter to the Hebrews, the apostle Paul quoted King David, “‘Thou didst make him for a little while lower than the angels, thou has crowned him with glory and honor, putting everything in subjection under his feet.’” He went on to add, “Now in putting everything in subjection to him, He left nothing outside his control. As it is, we do not yet see everything in subjection to him” (Hebrews 2:7-8).

The above-quoted verses give us a glimpse of the awesome future that awaits mankind, turned God’s spirit children, in the Kingdom of God, not too long from now. It transcends our loftiest dreams and ambitions in this physical life. Fully understood, it should inspire us and motivate us to really think like Jesus Christ and make the Kingdom of God our supreme goal in life—the FOCUS of our aspirations to which we ought to commit ourselves, whatever it takes. IT IS OUR DESTINY.

Things don't stop there, though. GOD wants us to understand His mystery. He is a personal loving Father who listens to His children. He doesn't mind that they ask questions to understand. Note what Jesus Christ taught about loving God: " ... love God with all your heart ... soul ... MIND (faculty for understanding) ... and strength." (Mark 12:30)

And so we ask:

Why did God not create man as spirit being like the angels?
Why did He have to form the first man, Adam, “of dust from the ground”? (Genesis 2:7)
Did God decide to create humans physical beings as a result of Lucifer’s rebellion? So that in the event they sinned and refused to repent they could easily be destroyed in the lake of fire?
Was the decision to create man physical arrived at only after the angels sinned?
Did God know beforehand that the angels and men could sin?
When did Jesus Christ’s role as Savior begin?

These are crucial questions that need to be answered clearly for it is in these areas that we could fall prey to “deceitful spirits” who teach “doctrines of demons” (1 Timothy 4:1).

Now for the answers:

In Genesis 1:26 we read, “Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.’” More than just a historical account, the verse gives us an idea of what was in God’s mind when He planned for the creation of man. It was a unique creation that He was planning, a complex work that was to ultimately result in a replica of Himself. In other words He was going to reproduce Himself. He will create a family of like beings as Himself who will populate the Kingdom that He was going to give to the WORD—His partner, alter ego and would-be Son (John 1:1), as a token of His Great Love—the most precious gift God can ever give. “He destined us in love to be His sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will to the praise of His glorious grace which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved” (Ephesians 1:5-6).

Putting things in perspective, we see that the process of creation that God employed in creating mankind which He intended to be a replication of Himself, was totally different from that of the angels. With men, it was generation (the process of begetting or the natural process of procreation) whereas with angels, it was individual creative work.

Because of the nature of God’s intention in creating man, it was of necessity therefore that He had to form man of “dust from the ground”—as physical being—in accordance with the natural law of reproduction to accomplish His purpose. There was no other way. Spirits cannot reproduce by themselves. They do not have the organs needed for procreation. Reason why Satan, in spite of his awesome attributes, cannot reproduce himself.

God’s transcendent plan for man involved a two-step process:

First, man was to be created physical for replication purposes;
Thereafter, God would fill each and every individual brought forth as a result (assuming a 100% sin-free mankind), with His Holy Spirit that will then transform man into the very being that God intended him to be (1 Corinthians 15:46, 50, 53).

Here’s how the Apostle Paul explained it: “But it is not the spiritual which is first but the physical, and then the spiritual. I tell you this, brethren: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. For this perishable nature must put on the imperishable, and this mortal nature must put on immortality.”

Before man could become spirit in the likeness of God, he must first be physical in order that God’s basic attributes be passed on to him and then with God’s Holy Spirit uniting with his spirit (“spirit of the man”—1 Corinthians 2:11), at the appointed time, he will be transformed into a spirit being (1 Corinthians 15:51-52) as God is (1 John 3:2).

Let’s get it clear in our minds that man’s creation as physical being had more to do with God’s intention to reproduce Himself than it had to do with man’s eventual destruction in the event that he deliberately rejected God. It was planned from the beginning. It was not some decision that God made only after Lucifer’s rebellion as a fail-safe mechanism in case man went the wrong way as Satan did.

Indeed Lucifer’s willful turn to wickedness, which earned for him the name Satan (adversary), adversely affected the overall plan and the work of creating mankind afterwards but its only direct effect was God’s holding back of the giving of His Holy Spirit to man until he had proven himself worthy of it. Unless and until man chose, on his own accord, to live God’s way and proved himself fit for the Kingdom, there was no further purpose for him and no other recourse left but to have him destroyed totally in the lake of fire at the appointed time as though he never existed at all. The Kingdom is no place for wicked people.

Did God know beforehand of the possibility that angels and men would sin? YES HE DID (this is implied in 1Peter 1:20) but He chose to wait and see how they would behave, react, and respond after they have been shown, educated and given the chance to live His way. He gave them individual minds that have the capacity to think independently from Him and everyone else. He did not create dumb robots with pre-programmed mechanical actions and responses. He wanted His creation to respond and relate to Him and with one another not by compulsion or as unthinking automatons but by self-will, better known as FREE WILL.

While men and angels share the same attribute in the area of FREE THINKING and JUDGMENT, one particular trait sets men apart, however. And this is their capacity to change their minds (as in repentance), something apparently not present in angels. This is best illustrated by the recorded incident in Matthew 8:28-32 where demons who came face-to-face with Jesus Christ, begged rather to be cast out and sent away into the herd of swine than ask forgiveness for their sins.

From the beginning, God set the standard of conduct (the great commandment [Mark12:29-31]—the Eternal LAW based on Love) that automatically exacted the penalty of rejection and damnation if WILLFULLY violated (“…the wages of sin is death” Romans6:23). That is why Satan and his cohorts are doomed. In the case of men, however, because of their supreme importance in the overall purpose of creation, GOD and the WORD deemed it necessary that they were not to be automatically disqualified from the Kingdom in the event that they erred in their ways and fell short of the standard of righteousness required of them to be able to enter the Kingdom. Unless they deliberately turned wicked in the fashion of Satan’s, they were to be saved and redeemed from their sins.

In this connection, God determined a remedy for such an eventuality. The penalty can be revoked but only by the shedding of blood to cover the guilt of the offender. The requirement was extremely heavy in that the offender cannot cover his guilt by his own blood (indeed he cannot since in the ritual of the Passover in Exodus 12:5 [a precursor of Jesus’ sacrifice to wash away sins] the lamb that was to be sacrificed must be without blemish, whereas the offender is blemished by his sins), neither can the blood of any other man (naturally because all have sinned” [Romans 3:23]); or animals, (“… it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins” [Hebrews 10:4]). It required blood coming from someone without blemish and who is superior to man. Who could it be but GOD himself? In Hebrews 13:20 we read, “the blood of the eternal covenant,” meaning requirement that was agreed upon by God and the WORD from the very beginning of the plan.

But how can God shed blood and die to pay the penalty of death in man’s stead as required by Law and then be resurrected to save mankind? God is spirit—without flesh and blood—and therefore, cannot die (death is a physical occurrence).

We find the solution to this dilemma in Romans 5:8-10: “But God shows His love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we are now justified by His blood, much more shall we be saved by Him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by His life.”

Paul further explains this in Romans 8:3-4: “For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the just requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”

The Word, always the humble, submissive and great loving being that He is, rose to the occasion. In the event men faltered, He will divest (“empty”) himself of all His Godly powers to satisfy the requirement (Philippians 2:7). He will take the form of man by being born of a woman and live like any other man would, except in the area of sinning, until He accomplished His mission and His powers restored to Him (John 10:17-18).

The understanding that the process of salvation was worked out in the very beginning of the plan is supported by Peter’s statement in 1 Peter 1:20. He said, “He (Jesus Christ) was destined before the foundation of the world but was made manifest at the end of the times.”

Every detail of the Master Plan was first worked out before actual creation took place. Nothing was overlooked, omitted, neglected, not considered or left to chance. Luke14:28 gives us an idea of how God’s mind works. “For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?”

Jesus Christ’s coming to earth was not a “spur-of-the-moment” decision. Nor was it decided upon only after man sinned. Please read Ephesians 1:3-14. Meditate on it. It will work wonders for you.

Now we have every reason to rejoice notwithstanding the troubles we are now going through, because we are about to see the conclusion of God's Plan and very soon, as world events which perfectly match Bible prophecy now indicate, we will see the glorious kingdom of God. Not all of mankind will be entering it though. But everyone will be given a chance.

Well, I have shared with you another "heavy stuff" which, I'm sure, would not sit well with most people, the "Bible-ists" in particular. But it's OK with me. Jesus Christ, Himself a God, during the three and a half years that He walked the earth as human, was ridiculed and mocked for His teachings. But one thing is sure. God's awesome plan for mankind stands and will be carried out to its completion irrespective of man's view of it. God is no respecter of persons.

BTW, I'm not a minister nor am I aspiring to become one. This understanding I shared with you I did not learn from men. A few things, yes, but not as comprehensive as I posted here. And it is not the product of research or "burn-the-midnight-oil" study of the Bible. God opened my mind to understand the "deep things of God" for the accomplishment of His purpose not because I am special in His eyes. King David never performed priestly duties even though he had more understanding than his teachers (Ps 119:99). Understanding God's Word is not exclusive to ministers, Bible scholars, preachers or priests -- whatever their title be. God will give you wisdom to understand. Just humbly ask for it.

I'm back for another post, hello again. How's it been going with you these past days, Friend?

"You Lie," Rep. Joe Wilson shouted from his seat as President Barack Obama spoke about his health care program before a joint session of the U.S. Congress early last month. News of that incident spread fast and wide around the world and tons of opinion have been published since.

I am not going to comment on that on my post today for I am not in any position to do so, not because I am not an American which necessitates that I keep my mouth shut on the matter out of respect, but because of the fact that I have, on occasion, lied, myself, albeit white lies (e.g., when a friend asks me if I have already eaten lunch or dinner and I say 'yes' when 'not yet' is the truth). But white lies or big lies, it makes no difference. A lie is a lie and is ... unjustifiable.

Can anyone come out clean -- spic-and-span -- as regards lying?

"He who is without sin, cast the first stone," Jesus Christ told the crowd who put before Him a woman they accused of adultery, allegedly caught red-handed.

Lying is the EASIEST thing to do in any given situation and requires very little effort (none at all, in fact, with white lies) to do it. And so we see people lying with abandon ... even kids, barely out of the crib, who lie their way out by resorting to crying when confronted.

How much hurt is inflicted on a relationship, whether government to its people, business to customers, lawyers to clients, parents to their kids, teachers to their students, doctors to their patients, so on and so forth; siblings, friends, lovers -- one toward the other? It doesn't take a psychologist or an expert (who could be lying himself/herself with the results of his/her findings) to determine the degree of hurt or damage.

Look into any trouble involving relationships and you are likely to find that the underlying cause is lying. And irony of ironies, wherever and whenever the word "love" (supposedly, the ultimate symbol of truthfulness) is mentioned, there is the likelihood that a lie is lurking in the shadows. See those fingers crossed at the man's back in our image above? It could very well be at the woman's back, too, don't you think?

Lying is synonymous with hypocrisy, anyway one looks at it. And in no human organization is this more pronounced than in religion. That's why Jesus Christ called the Pharisees of His time, "hypocrites." It's no different in our time.

The religious leaders who are supposed to be the pillars of righteousness and moral rectitude, are themselves corrupt and immoral, to say the least. Not everyone, of course, but a great many are.

Now, who do we blame for all the lying in the world? Can we blame the parents when their children lie? The teachers when students cheat in their exams? When you find yourself telling your girlfriend or boyfriend something you know is ... a lie ("I love you" ...?), who would you blame?

Lying is a spiritual disease that's been in the world long before mankind appeared on the scene. It did not just come into being, by chance. It's been originated, invented, and perpetuated by an invisible power whom Jesus Christ referred to as "the father of lies, a murderer from the beginning."

This great dark force has the whole world held captive under his manipulative power and influence. And we are no match to him on our own. Sadly, almost everyone is not aware that he/she is under the power of this dark force. And even those who are aware, they are just too weak to resist or are weakened by failing to invoke the only power that can overcome said force.

No human government, law, religion, organization, court, police, prison, school, home, or even self-righteousness, can prevent one from lying. He who says he never lied is himself already lying.

So ... what am I trying to say?

To put it succinctly: unless we turn to GOD and turn from our wrong ways, and ask Him the power that we need to overcome the Master Liar of all time, we will remain liars all the days of our life. It may not be everyday that we tell a lie but one lie is enough to make us a liar, nonetheless.

The Benefits of Social Networking

Greetings, Friend.

I tried my hands at verse-writing drawing inspiration from my newfound friend's blog who writes in verses. What do you know, I was able to compose one after several tries and not getting it right.

It's a lot easier writing in prose but sometimes you get tired of it you want to try something new. Indeed, verse-writing is a challenge but it's fun. Let me share with you what I've done. You don't need to critique it like you would a real poet's piece because it doesn't qualify to be one in the first place. My objective is just to have a little fun -- making a fool of myself -- pretending to be a Sir Walter Raleigh, just this time. OK? :)

Also, please allow me to dedicate this composition to GIlson whose writings awakened me to the beauty of poetry which I have been foolish not to appreciate before. I haven't given the piece a title but it speaks of my experience with this blog that never had any visits until I tried social networking which I frowned at before. So here goes:

When I started blogging
In the summer of '09,
The idea of social networking
Never crossed my mind.

True friends on the Net? Heck, it's an illusion
At first, I thought; brushing aside advice,
That I give it a try even just for fun
'Nothing to lose, just tired eyes.'

I made posts to my blog and everyday
I checked; Perhaps a visit, perhaps a name,
Nothing; "there must be a better way
I must not fret, this is just a game."

Pausing to consider, I mused, "why not?"
Then I made my rounds: Facebook, Twitter, My Space;
Till the morning hours, you could call me nuts
Crisscrossing the labyrinth of cyberspace.

Hours and days turned to weeks,
Nothing real, just tricks;
But ... what I looked for I didn't find
Because I approached with a biased mind.

I changed my outlook, made a fresh start
"Arquivos Halcyon" my first-stop blog,
Hmm... the writer's got the poet's mark
Not a wasted time reading his verses, neatly tagged.

Never thought the writer will notice
My visits to his blog, reading every piece;
He initiated friendship, think he's real,
Speaks from the heart, you can really feel.

GIlson's his name, honest like a child
Open and sincere, he's not masked.
His feelings he doesn't hide,
Makes a great friend, more than you can ask.

Got visits now, can't be happier,

When Songs Aren't Just Songs

Warm greetings to you my friend. How are you today?

Do you enjoy music? What's your favorite song?

I like music (but my best friend says the music doesn't like me). I enjoy singing but I can only do it under the shower or I'd be stoned to death by my neighbors. I can play the guitar but only for a moment or those around me would tear me to pieces.

Regardless, music is my first love and no one can take it away from me. Too bad, I haven't been endowed with a voice that could entertain. Even my dog howls at me when I sing. LOL.

But I think God made it so for a reason. And that is: so I can learn to see and admire talents other people possess. Like my newfound buddy, GIlson, who expresses his thoughts through verses (check out his blog: http://arquivoshalcyon.blogspot.com/). Boy, is he good at it ... a modern William Shakespeare in the making, I must say.

GOD, indeed, is fair and generous to all that He created. He plays no favorites. He gives gifts to everyone. Even those who reject Him, He endowed them with talents to give meaning to their existence.

Now, let's talk about songs. Songs are more than just the melodies and the lyrics that musicians, composers, and artists play or sing. There's message in every song -- could be good or bad. And every song is a unique expression of one's feelings, thoughts, dreams, aspirations, ambitions, emotions, sentiments and yes ... hatred, disappointment, discontentment, opposition, rebellion and whatnot. Songs are epitomes of the spirit in man whose desire for expression is limited only by self-restraint and degree of creativity applied.

Now, as in any human endeavor, conflicts in music are myriad and wide-ranging. Should we sit in judgment of anyone singing songs that do not conform to our tastes and preferences? Or should we just be more tolerant?

How far can one go with tolerance?

The grandmas/papas of the pre-war years vs. the baby boomers vs. the generations x , y and z. Parents who enjoy the Beatles' songs vs. their kids who go gaga with Britney Spears' tunes.

News: One young man stabbed to near death an older man belting out Matt Monro's MY WAY in a karaoke bar. A grand daddy was spotted rapping with his grandson to a Kanye West composition.

What's wrong with songs or ... put another way ... what's wrong with people?

What about you? How do you relate to songs and how much could you tolerate?

Would you be a critic ... a judge? Are you "in" or "out"? Or ... would you simply shrug things off and mutter under your breath, "heck ... a song is a song is a song is a song," and go your own way humming and buzzing like the bumble bee which cares less that the world is painted black with pollution and just do, with gladness of heart, its nature-assigned task of pollinating the flowers so more flowers could sprout to beautify the world, in spite of man?

What would your reaction be if, one morning as you check your email, you see in your inbox an issue of the newsletter you regularly receive from a trusted and credible source and its headline reads:

The Swine Flu Conspiracy: A Plan to Commit Mass Murder

It's boxed summary reads:

"A chilling tale of conspiracy to commit mass murder by those who are responsible for protecting human lives. The Swine Flu Conspiracy: A Plan to Commit Mass Murder -- coming to a town near you."

And the shocking story:

A medical journalist named Jane Burgermeister has recently filed criminal charges with the FBI against the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations (UN), and several of the highest ranking government and corporate officials concerning their attempts to commit mass murder via the swine flu. [Source: NaturalNews]

This comes in the wake of charges filed last April against US-based pharmaceutical company, Baxter AG, and Avir Green Hills Biotechnology. Baxter was recently connected to the disturbing scandal involving flu vaccines. Several sources, including the Times of India, reported that last December, Baxter inserted deadly live avian flu viruses into vaccines that were distributed to 18 countries around the world to be injected into patients as "flu shots" -- allegedly as a deliberate act to trigger a pandemic and profit from the sale of vaccines.

However, a batch of the tainted vaccines was first tested on ferrets in the Czech Republic before being shipped out for injection into humans. Every one of the ferrets died -- and the SHOCKING discovery was made.

Since the contamination of the vaccination couldn't be blamed on an "honest mistake," newspapers immediately questioned whether the events were part of a conspiracy to deliberately provoke a pandemic, following up on accusations already made by health officials in other countries.

Jane Burgermeister contends that the WHO, the UN and high-ranking corporate government officials conspired with each other (and others) in a covert international program involving the pharmaceutical companies Baxter and Novartis.

The conspiracy entailed the bioengineering and then releasing of lethal biological agents -- specifically the "bird flu" virus and the "swine flu virus" in order to accelerate the pandemic by making the virus ever morevirulent(with the addition of the Avian flu). This would then make an otherwise mild swine flu outbreak disastrous enough to justify forced mass vaccinations.

Such a forced mass vaccination program would rake in billions of dollars in vaccine revenues -- while the hoards of people who are vaccinated run the risk of suffering serious injury or even death in massive numbers!

In case you didn't know ...

Can you REALLY be forced to take the swine flu vaccine?

Most people have never heard of the international health regulations and the national pandemic plans that ALLOW mandatory flu vaccinations. Most people think that no one can be FORCED to take the swine flu vaccine. Wrong!

Did you know ... that in the event of a Pandemic Level 6 emergency declaration, you would be required to follow the orders of the World Health Organization? In such an emergency, the WHO has the authority to force anyone (and that includes you) to be vaccinated and also to be quarantined.

Under such circumstances, it would be a CRIMINAL OFFENSE if you refuse to be vaccinated.

So what's the worst thing that could happen if you were to be vaccinated?

For starters, if the vaccine you receive happens to be laced with live avian flu viruses, which Baxter has demonstrated itself capable of doing without being penalized-- the vaccine would be virulent enough to kill you.

This is the basis for Burgermeister's charges against the WHO and UN for conspiracy to commit mass murder.

Furthermore, if the swine flu vaccine doesn't kill you, you may have an increased CANCER RISK.

According to German lung specialist Wolfgang Wodarg (who is also the chairman of the health committee in the German parliament and European Council), the swine flu vaccine's nutrient solution contains CANCEROUS cells from animals. It therefore stands to reason that injection of the vaccine might also cause cancer in humans.

The swine flu vaccine contains shockingly higher concentrations of squalene than was used in the anthrax vaccines, which caused hundreds of thousands of troops to suffer the catastrophic effects of Gulf War Syndrome.

Furthermore, the swine flu vaccine, which is being rushed to market without the appropriate testing and evaluation, may cause a repeat of the swine flu vaccine catastrophe of 1976, in which people died or developed crippling Guillain-Barré Syndrome or paralysis as a result of the experimental vaccine.

In the event that forced vaccinations are implemented, what can YOU do?

You can just say "No!"

Would it make you a criminal offender -- and possibly land you in jail -- if you refused the vaccine?

If large numbers of people refuse the vaccination, the government would NOT have the resources to enforce a mandatory vaccination -- nor have the capacity to imprison hundreds of thousands (or millions) of people.

That's why it's necessary to urge as many people as possible to refuse the swine flu vaccine.

Should you refuse the vaccine, you definitely WON'T be alone. According to research reported in the August 25 issue of the British Medical Journal...

... more than 50% of doctors and nurses in public hospitals would refuse the swine flu vaccinebecause they're concerned about its side effects, and have doubts about its efficacy.

And according to a Fox News poll conducted in August, the MAJORITY of Americans now believe that the swine flu vaccine may be DEADLIER than the swine flu virus itself.

Hello again. How are you doing?

Have you ever wondered ...

What is love ...?

Why is there such a thing as marriage? Why the need for it? Can't we just go on with our lives without it?

What is sex? Why does it have to be between man and woman? Why not man with man and woman with woman or man with animals?

This is serious discussion that I want to have with you today. I just hope that what I write here would not turn you off. If it does, I'm sorry.

First, let me say: I believe in GOD and the things He said which He caused to be written into a book, better known as the Bible, by His prophets who wrote as He put in their minds what to write or as He instructed them by direct, actual communication. This book survived the ravages of time and prevailed against "the gates of hell."

Of the millions of books ever written, no book has been as controversial -- and as popular -- as the Bible, particularly on the matter of the "Gospel of the Kingdom of God."

Notwithstanding the differing interpretations/opinions of religionists, preachers, evangelists, Bible scholars, ministers and what have you, I am more than convinced that, as written in the Bible, GOD will establish a literal kingdom on earth. And He gave signs when that will take place.

I take His word for it.

The Bible speaks about a profound mystery: "the mystery of the Kingdom of GOD."

This mystery is so profound no man -- no matter how intelligent -- can understand it unless GOD gives him understanding.

In that connection, I cannot thank God enough that He opened my mind to understand said mystery, in spite of myself -- a wretched sinner. He made me understand not because He favors me more than any man but for the accomplishment of His purpose. I could not have understood it on my own.

About the mystery of the kingdom, it may surprise you to know that LOVE, MARRIAGE AND SEX are part and parcel of it.

Today I want to share with you that understanding via an excerpt from the book GOD allowed me to write in spite of my limitations (I'm not an accomplished writer), titled: THE MYSTERY OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD. Here goes:

Our understanding of the mystery of the Kingdom of God will not be complete if we leave out the subject of love, marriage and sex. Regardless of how we view it, sex has everything to do with the Kingdom. Without sex, God’s purpose vis-à-vis mankind will not be realized. It was incorporated in God’s Master Plan of creation—the part that involved mankind—from the beginning. We will see shortly.

A good number of people, the prudes especially, regard the subject of sex as taboo when talking about God and religion. To them sex is evil—it is dirty. It should not be mentioned, even in casual conversations. On the other hand, the great majority find amusement on the subject. Often, it is the principal theme of songs, poems, advertisements, news, articles, movies, TV and stage shows, and every other activity man could engage in. But what is sex and why sex? Would mankind be better off without it?

It is very unfortunate, indeed, that because of the absence of understanding of the mystery of the Kingdom of God and the direct relation of sex to it, people have fallen into all sorts of trouble and misery involving sex. It is mankind’s greatest weakness. In the face of temptation men and women become powerless. Through the ages, the mighty and powerful—men of note and great caliber—have fallen because of sex scandals. Countless people lived miserable lives (many still do) because of unbridled sex. From the rich to what society calls “dregs,” most, if not everyone, gave in to the alluring appeal of sex at one time or another during their lifetime.

Just what is the purpose of sex?

We cannot have an objective, intelligent and sensible discussion of the subject unless we take it up in the context of the Kingdom of God. Our starting point would be God’s Plan of creating man to replicate Himself

Earlier, we have seen that because of God’s transcendent purpose in creating mankind which was to raise a family of like beings as Himself to populate the Kingdom that He was going to establish for His Son, it was of necessity that He created them physical beings in accordance with the natural law of reproduction or the direct transfer of the basic properties, attributes and qualities of the progenitor to the resultant offspring from generation to generation without loss of identity, regardless of the number of times the process is repeated—the “DNA” that science has come to call it.

With all the power available to Him (“For with God nothing is impossible” [Luke 1:37], God could have created Adam a single-celled living being capable of reproducing itself by fission like the amoeba, to achieve His purpose, but He did not. Instead, He created Adam multiple-celled incapable of reproducing himself, on his own. He needed a partner to perform the process. Why?

Let’s read Genesis 2:18, “the Lord God said, ‘It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.’” He then formed Eve from Adam’s body (verses 21-22) instead of forming her from dust as He did with Adam.

From this very brief account of Adam’s creation, God is giving us an insight into the deep meaning of love which is the basic component of His nature, the foundation of everything that He is. “God is Love” (1 John 4:16).

God imbued Adam with His basic attributes and traits, principal of which is love, that Adam would then pass on to His children and his children to their children, on down to each and every generation afterward. “Let us create man in our image, after our likeness,” God said (Gen 1:26). Thereafter He told Adam and Eve, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it” (verse 28).

In addition to other attributes, God created Adam with the capacity and the capability to feel and express God’s reciprocal love. It is a feeling of concern for others that is of equal degree as concern for self. It’s an innate desire for companionship and togetherness—to love and be loved. It’s not instinct as in the case of animals. This considered, logic will tell us that it was but natural, therefore, that God should create a woman as partner for man, for how could Adam love if he had no one to love with?

But why did it have to be a woman instead of another man? To answer the question, first we have to consider the natural law of reproduction involving begettal or impregnation in contrast to fission. Science will tell us that except for the single-celled amoeba that reproduces by fission or cell division, all other living creatures that are multiple-celled: animals, insects, and birds, reproduce through fertilization—the union of the sperm cell and egg cell which are present in separate entities—the male and the female.

By the process of conception, the physical properties, along with other attributes, of the parents are directly transmitted and developed in the offspring. This process of reproduction necessitates the intercourse between two opposite sexes (male and female) with distinct but complementary reproductive organs, to produce an offspring. There is no way that a child can be naturally conceived except by said process. Science has come up with “cloning” as alternative to this natural process but that is not acceptable to God.

That God created man necessarily to need a woman has everything to do with love. He created the woman from man in order that the man would desire for the woman who is part of himself; and for the woman to desire for the man of whom she is part. God meant for them to complement each other—to make complete what is lacking in their individual, separate selves. God created them one flesh for said purpose (Genesis 2:24). They share the same basic physical properties but are equipped with different reproductive organs to carry out God’s purpose in creating mankind. God’s purpose cannot be realized between man and man or between two women. It just doesn’t work technically, morally, and spiritually. Any same-sex partnership that mimics the kind of relationship (sexual act included) that God intended to be had only between man and woman is an abomination to Him (Romans 1:26-27).

God created in man and woman the desire or urge for sex, independent of the time factor, as the ultimate expression of their love—not LUST or LIKING—for one another. That’s why there is orgasm in sex; also why the urge for it could come any time to either the man or the woman. Contrast this to the sexual behavior of animals and other living organisms that copulate or mate by instinct in response to nature’s call solely for the purpose of reproduction, hence, cyclical or seasonal.

Satan hates mankind because of their potential to be in God’s Kingdom while he himself will be cast out. He is thus bent on destroying man and one of his more effective tools in carrying out his evil plan, is the drive for sex. It’s a weakness that he observed in Adam when he consented to Eve’s seductive invitation to eat the forbidden fruit. He had since perfected his craft and has never stopped corrupting the minds of people with lust through the ages, down to our time. Worst, he has influenced man to perform perverted acts even savage beasts do not do.

God knew, from the very start, of men’s (and women’s) weaknesses as regards sex so He set guidelines for sexual behavior and responses by way of the written code (the law) which Jesus Christ later magnified in His “sermon on the mount.” He instituted marriage to formalize and bind the union of the man and woman in love with each other. God intended that sex, in fulfillment of His purpose and as an expression of love, must be done within the confines of marriage between husband and wife. He then richly blesses the faithful relationship with the birth of lovable kids and a happy, God-centered family. God hates sex outside marriage. Satan, however, greatly delights in it.

While the basic physical act of intercourse is the same for both man and other living creatures, the objective, however, is different. That’s why with man, God incorporated the element of love in the process. God wants children who are born because of love and not because of lust.

Sex is the most wonderful experience a man and a woman in love could enjoy in their physical lives if done with God’s Plan of the Kingdom in mind. It is not only gratifying but also truly fulfilling since by said act, the child that God forms after His likeness and image—a replica of Himself—is brought forth and with each child born, God’s Master Plan of the Kingdom gets closer to realization.

Our HEALTH Is Our REAL Wealth ...

When I was young, I didn't bother at all about my health. Just like any healthy kid, then and now, health was the least of my concerns, even though it was a subject we studied in school. Thankfully for me, I grew up in a remote rural village where the only health-destroying junk food one can buy from stores were candies. But even that didn't appeal much to me as freshly picked fruits were more delicious to the palate. For meat, milk, eggs and vegetables, we didn't have to take the trouble of crossing a river and ride a rickety bus 20 kilometers to the nearest market. We raised poultry and grew vegetables in our backyard for our needs and to share with neighbors. Our farm animals provided the milk. Thus we had a daily supply of farm-fresh and healthy foods that didn't cost us a penny but the time we spent in growing them.

Years later I moved to the big city, hundreds of miles from home, for my college education. It was altogether a new life for me with so much city glitter to feast my eyes on. Food has always been my FIRST interest so on my first trip to the supermarket, the beautifully packaged foodstufs prominently displayed on the shelves with images of mouth-watering, finger-licking "so delicious" food, grabbed my attention ... and had me buying without hesitation.

Did I like what I bought? No. Maybe because I was not used to the taste of processed food the same way that city kids do not enjoy eating natural foods because they are not used to it. Over the years, that bias never changed. And boy, was I grateful that it was so because, without me realizing it, it kept me in tip-top shape all along, healthwise.

So I grew up in the best of health and remained so to this very day. I've never experienced hospital except once when I figured in a minor vehicular accident on my way home from work for which I was brought to the hospital by my cousin, a doctor, who closed the cut on my leg with a 9-stitch needle work. But I didn't have to lie in bed. I went home right after the treatment. Oh, yes, I did get sick through the years but they were ordinary ailments like flu, colds, headaches, upset stomach.

At my age now (secret), as I reflect on life, I couldn't help but be thankful that I grew up eating -- and loving -- natural foods. Quite a number of my friends, some of whom years my junior who were born with a silver spoon in mouth, are now suffering from degenerative diseases like heart ailments, cancer, diabetes, etc., and are hospital frequenters; some spending days on end in a wheelchair for the rest of their lives, others already "gave up the ghost."

So ... what's my point in saying all these in this post?

Well ... I just wanted to share my view, developed from experience, that HEALTH is our only REAL WEALTH in this life. Lose it and everything else becomes meaningless.

You may be the richest man on earth living in a palatial home, traveling the world on your own Gulfstream G550 jet, riding the waves in your own multi-million dollar luxury yacht but ... would you appreciate food if you are suffering from stomach ulcer or colon cancer? Would you desire to take part in a dance party with friends when you are stuck in your wheelchair? Would you gleefully sing under the shower when you have to be assisted to be able to bathe?

So don't take your health -- and your family's -- for granted.

Now, let me share with you an information I stumbled on while searching the net for info about a friend's heart ailment to be educated about the disease. "Forewarned is forearmed," as the saying goes.

You see, I always turn to OTC drug whenever I feel sick to relieve me of the physical pain that's afflicting me, albeit ordinary, like migraine. So I was skeptical, at first, about the author's statement (especially because she's not a medical authority) that one doesn't need chemical-based medical remedies to get cured of every disease that he/she may be suffering from ... that even the terminally-ill have hope to be restored to vibrant health without having to go under the knife or be subjected to painful radiation therapy.

But as I read through the information, I saw her point. She may be "just" a researcher/writer but the information she spent years researching and generously shares in her book, frrank and honest, are much more credible than any knowledge and education that could be gained from medical schools or those propounded by biased scientists.

Her research is not without objective scientific proofs. But even if it is not backed up by actual cases of successful clinical treatment of people who have recovered completely from life-threatening diseases and published as case histories, I am inclined to agree with her because of the glaring fact that in spite of advancements in medical science and technology, there is no end to the growing number of people getting sick -- and sicker -- necessitating, thereby, the putting up of more hospitals, especially in the third world, since existing ones are bursting at the seams such that patients had to to be accomodated and treated in hallways and corridors.

Relative to our topic, I am deeply saddened by the news of the death of one of my favorite actors, Patrick Swayze, who lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. I was just thinking maybe ... just maybe ... he could have been saved from an untimely death had he known about the ONE-MINUTE CURE book.

We have lost another great actor (how many more would we lose?) to the scourge of cancer which medical science cannot -- and never will -- find solution to for as long as it remains a tool of the pharma industry for revenue growth rather than for the interest of the public at large, that is, disease prevention instead of merely treating symptoms.

Indeed, something is wrong -- really, really wrong -- with our health care system. But it is a multi-billion dollar industry now fast approaching the trillion dollar mark. It's good business, don't you think? The more people falling ill, the more money in the bank, right?

Never mind if the wretched sick are sucked dry down to their last penny and then ... die. Who cares? Not the giant pharmas! Not the greedy capitalists! Not the heartless doctors! ... not the funeral parlors!

Would you simply go on with your life as though you'll never get sick ... never die of disease?
