Fibromyalgia and Poor Concentration

For some with fibromyalgia, poor concentration can be a symptom of the disease. Poor concentration in fibromyalgia is part of a symptom known as "fibrofog." Poor concentration could possibly be the result of the chronic fatigue that is common with fibromyalgia.

Fibromyalgia is a condition that is characterized by widespread muscle pain and and multiple tender points. Polymyaliga (polymyalgia rheumatica) is generally associated with moderate to severe pain and stiffness in the neck, shoulder, and hip areas. Polymyalgia, unlike fibromyalgia, is associated with inflammation.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease and is typically a progressive illness that causes chronic inflammation of the joints. Some of the most common joints affected by RA include the wrists and fingers, as well as the knees, feet, and ankles. When the fingers become affected, they tend to swell and deform.
