The University of Arkansas Medical School (UAMS) opened the Psychiatric Research Institute on December 2, 2008 in Little Rock, Arkansas. It is a joint venture between UAMS and the Department of Psychiatry to offer a research area, outpatient care, and inpatient care at one facility. The National Nursing Home survey found that 20% of the 1.5 million nursing home residents over the age of 65 received mental health services.
