Fresh ginger is a staple in my house. Right up there with garlic, lemon, and olive oil, you'll always find a big chunk of ginger root in my kitchen.

Daily, I drink a fresh lemonade with ginger & cayenne. It's good for digestion & alkalizing. For sick tummies hot ginger tea with honey. We just had to do tummy tea the other night. My little brother gets carsick - my mom carries crystallized ginger in her purse. Ginger is an anti inflammatory - good for arthritis. I hear they've done studies and proven that ginger is an effective treatment in ovarian cancer. The point is I think ... add ginger to your diet, however you can.

I can't think of a more pleasant way to add ginger to your diet, than with ginger chews from The Ginger People. Candy with a purpose. Stimulating to your senses.

I got to try one of each flavor of ginger chews. Original, Hot Coffee, Peanut, and Spicy Apple. I also got to try the cleanser, eye creme, and balm from amazing ginger skincare line GO. But, that is for another post :)

Back to the chews, the peanut is my favorite! If you're into Thai food, you know that peanut and ginger go well together. This is a marriage made in heaven - the peanut and the spicy ginger blend to create a creamy flavor, add sweet and it's perfect! They are dangerous to me - I could eat them all day long.

They are all really yummy.

I think a perfect candy for after dinner. Ginger stimulates digestion and might aide you after a large meal. You know how restaurants offer peppermints after your meal. I think they should start doing ginger instead.

When I think of Valentine's Day, I either think of romance, or classroom parties. The latter is an American tradition most of us have been a part of. I couldn't wait to light my candle. As soon as it arrived, I trimmed the wick and got started. I mean, if you've got a diamond ring waiting inside, why wait?

I received the Fresh Snow scent. It's a nice, rich vanilla fragrance with a touch of mint.

By the time the top was all liquid, the house smelled of the rich scent. I went out to feed birds and when I came in, the house smelled so good.

I burnt it for a couple hours, for two days before the gold pouch with the ring surfaced.

See it down there in the bottom? I took a bamboo skewer and gently rocked it a little until it popped up and floated to the surface.

The ring is contained in a tiny zip lock bag, then wrapped in gold foil.

The ring I got isn't really my type, but we bought a couple of these for Christmas gifts and the ring I saw from those two gifts, is wonderful! I wish I would have gotten that one. More reason to keep trying!

The name Marzetti is synonymous with dressings and dips, perfect compliments for your salads, fruits, and vegetables.

I've always considered Marzetti a kind of specialty brand. I've grown up with Marzetti being located in the produce section of the grocery store, rather than being in the aisle with other dressing and sauces. It kind of proves that Marzetti just naturally belongs with vegetables. Not only is the location of Marzetti different from other dressings, but the selection, and quality is different too.

Ooh yeah! This arrived just in time. Indiana winters are horid and while it has been mild so far, the Spring like weather is giving way to our more typical November tempatures. Snow expected here on Thursday and you can truely feel it.

We live in an older home and our heating dilima is keeping both upstairs and downstairs at a comfortable tempature. If we get the downstairs nice and warm, upstairs feels like an oven. Last year we used a suplemental electric heater but it had to run all the time and it never quite met our needs while driving up the electric bills.

I use essential oils a lot in my home. My sister is a massage therapist and she is into totally natural products and often uses oils in her massage.

Not only is the aroma of the oil therapeutic, but the actual properties of the oils are too.

When I was pregnant with my youngest, I had some dental pain and wanting to avoid putting medicines into my system, I got through very nicely using a high quality oil blend that contained clove. It was made to boost the immune system and prevent illness, but if I soaked the end of a Q-Tip and rested it between my gums and cheek for a bit. Dental pain is bad and it worked very well.

I believe in the power of nature and I believe in the power of essential oils.

Being that it's Christmas time, I am using the Christmas Spice oil from Kokokhan.

This stuff is Delish! Seriously, you'll want to eat it! It smells so good! I am funny about scents. Many products on the market today turn me off. Because of their scent. Like the major Bath & Body shop, I hate their stuff - it just smells so artificial to me - there's an after scent. Kinda like a bad after taste, I just can't do it.

Vera Bradley is always festive. But there is something about Vera at the holidays that just makes me feel all warm and cozy.

I normally get a new VB piece as a gift every Christmas and so I associate the bright patterens with wonderful mornings spent opening presents around the tree. I usually also give Vera Bradly as gifts to at least one person on my list so I also associate it with the warm feeling of giving.

I'm an Indiana girl and the birthplace of the Vera Bradly bag is about 45 minutes from where I live. It's just in my blood.
