My Virgin Brazilian Wax Experience

I always told myself that there are some things that are meant to tried once in a lifetime and of course, within my budgets.
I wanted to try waxing since I was teenager but I was afraid I cannot handle the pain and embarrass myself. So I kept to the traditional and easy way, trimming and shaving.
But there are really disadvantages in trim and shave.
The hair seems to be more bushy and thicker. I would not had mind but under a hot weather like Singapore, it is just so horrible.
I actually developed rashes which I think was due to the weather. That was when I decided to go for waxing.

I searched online for more information about Brazilian waxing, but nothing really helps to my curiosity of how the waxing goes. Then off I go to search for a waxing shop in Singapore and hoping to avoid inexperience therapist.
I came across this, Strip - Ministry of Waxing. I go thru the comments about Strip in their facebook page and found that the comments are not bad. Only for certain outlet that the services are badly remark.
I went on to find out their pricing which they have stated clearly in their webpage.
Here a portion of the price list. There are also waxing services for other part of the body which I did not post here. Below are only pricing for Brazilian.

I even came across this promotion. www.stripsummer.com which you get to do Brazilian waxing for only S$35.00. You can purchase online and printout or just go down to any outlet and show them you want to go for Lemon Lem-Off. Promotion ends 30th September 2015.

Anyway, I did purchased this Lemon Lem-Off and thinking that I gave up halfway I won't feel so heartpain for the money I paid. LOL.
I booked my appointment at Westgate outlet, which was opened recently. I wasted no time and booked the earliest date I can get.
As Westgate outlet was new, everything looks new and makes me feel comfy. I was quite embarrass when I entered the shop. Luckily my daughter Belle came along with me. HAHA

I was pretty nervous when it was my turn. I was led into a very small room with only a bed and a build-in cabinet.
My therapist name Crystal, politely told me to remove my lower clothing and wipe clean my private area with the disposable wiper placed on the bed.
She left the room to give me privacy.
I quickly removed my short and panty, placed it inside the cupboard, do what I was told to and lay down on the bed covering myself with an towel.
The therapist came in a while later and show me how to open up and bended my legs for a better waxing. It might be because I had been seen by doctors that I don't really feel that embarrassed. I think if the therapist as a doctor.
Then went the waxing. The wax was actually hot, not warm but hot and bearable. I was really nervous about the pain.
They started out from the sides before closing in to the middle. Pain was bearable for me. The therapist advised that middle are the most painful experience. It's true.
It went on very fast. Around 15 mins later it was done. Even the back too... They even go through once more using tweezer to remove those that are not remove.
At the end there are an optional post wax treatment which cost around S$5.00 that will be apply on the waxed area.
There are also post wax care creams available for purchase!

This Ingrown Hair Cream are what as it says, to prevent ingrown hair which can cause irritation and infection.

Ice Cream soothe the wax area if rashes or irritation are occur.

Well, the services are not bad, except for the ways they trying to promote their credit package. I did indeed bought the package as I hate those hair poking out all over the place. HAHA.
It was indeed more cooling and less irritating after the waxing as the weather in Singapore are hot hot hot thru out the year.
I would say the pain is 6/10 if giving birth natural pain is 10/10. :)

Quit smoking Final Entry

As previous entries, I had finally succeeded in quitting smoking. I am overwhelmed with joy!!

Finally, after so many unsuccessful tries, I managed to get rid of the smoke, but in return I also gain something I am scare of.

Fats.

Weight gain.

From 49 kg to 53 kg in just 3 months.

I was really really very depress about this.

I know that quit smoking can actually gain weight but never expect it to gain so much.

Most of my pants and shorts are too small for me.

Now after quit smoking, it's time to lose weight too...

I used to go for a run few times a week. After I settle down to an office hour job, I actually got no time for running. I don't really like late night running and beside sometimes after dinner, I still got to supervises kids' homework.

My exercises time was totally cut off.

So for the last 3 months, no exercises, eat and eat, gain and gain.

Now I decided to cut away those fats and since I can't run, I decided to use skipping rope.

It is also a good exercise for losing weight and I actually can just jump outside my corridor.

No need too much time, 15 mins every day.

I went to search for some videos on how to slim down using skipping rope.

Some techniques seem tough and I don't think we can actually skip for so long for starter.

But it is a good guide on what type of ways to jump you can learn.

So I am giving myself a 1 month probation period, to see I really did lose weight or not. Stay tune for my weight loss result!

The delivery service was not bad.
They actually delivered the next working day which is fast! But one thing I was really confused was why I got charged S$70.46 instead of the purchasing price S$69.90 since delivery was FOC.
I never really went to find out why.

There are 2 types of teas in Skinny Mint tea detox.

Our 2014 Christmas!!

First of all Merry Christmas to everyone!!
Well I had a normal Christmas Day at home doing cleaning.
Even since I started working, I seldom clean up the house.
Anyway, this is how we spent on our 2014 Christmas,

First time eating turkey on Christmas!! I tried to roast turkey myself cause I actually don't know where to buy ready cooked turkey.

I bought this at Giant supermarket just near my place at Christmas eve.

And this is how it came out as...
Gravy was actually included. Spent 2 hours to roast in an oven.

Then this is how they feel about eating turkey meat the first time.

And this is their Christmas Presents!!

Belle had a new phone so that is included as Chirstmas present.
Haha!!

We had pizza for christmas dinner. Which was kinda of simple but nice.
We are not really into Christmas but feel that kids should enjoy holiday season joys!!!

Green Bean Yogurt Mask

GREEN BEAN YOGURT MASK

Ingredient:
Green bean Powder
Plain Yogurt

Thing you need:
Small container
brush (optional)
spoon

Step 1:
Put 2 tablespoons of green bean powder into container. Add in 1 tablespoon of yogurt. Use brush or spoon to mix evenly. Can add more to get desire amount and texture. Try to get sticky mixture so that when putting on, it won't drip from the face.

Step 2:
Use finger and spread small amount all over face, avoiding eye areas. leave on for 15 mins.

Step 3:
Wash off with warm water. Pat dry face.

So why green bean? Green bean AKA mung bean (绿豆) is actually very good for skins. It has anti-aging agents which can reduces the presence of winkles, age spots and lines.
It really lighten up the skin, making the face look radiance after wash off.
Green bean are also anti-toxin which actually clean your face toxin.
This mask is specially good for oily, acne-prone skin.

Yogurt, another essential food for body and face. As it contains lactic acid that helps smooth rough skin, dry skin and prevent mature aging. Lactic acid also helps to dissolve dead skin.

I personally like this mask alot.

Although it's quite hard to find green bean powder in some places. But mostly chinese- medical hall shop should sell.

Hada Labo Products?

Really want to talk about this. Haha!
Hada Labo first appeared in sg was when I'm working at this company where they actually were doing packaging for Hada Labo.
This was 3, 4 years back I think.
Although I was facing these products everyday, I actually never tried it before.

Few months ago I bought the HA light lotion to use.
I was a SAHM for 3 years. Because I stayed at home to look after children and taking care of house chores, I basically become an "auntie". I don't wear nice nice, I don't make up, I stayed up late almost every night to read novels or watch shows and mostly I stayed at home. I don't even look after my face anymore.
So one day, I really looked into the mirror at myself and I really was shocked.
I look so much like "auntie" lor.
Hair messy tied up, face so dull, pimples and acnes everywhere. And I became fat!
I decided I can't stay like this and so I began my own "Eileen's Reshaping Plan".

I searched on-line to see what products was really good and low cost and there it is... Hada Labo.
So I searched again for more information about it. As my face was a combination type, so it was very hard for me to find a suitable product.

I bought the Hydrating lotion light which is for oily-prone skin. My first bottle was almost finished and really, my face improved a lot.
I was really prone to acnes especially especially when I tended to sleep late and smoked. Now all my acnes was gone.
After giving it a try, I know this is a product I actually can keep on using without switching to other brands!!

So this is what I do every morning.

Mine Self-ligating Braces

So I had my braces done on October 2012. Cost me 5k for 3M self-ligation metal braces.

I could have choose the normal type where you have to out on those tiny rubberbands around the brackets.
But it's too fussy and troublesome and it cost 4k. So why not opt for a better one? As least i don't need to worry whether I swallow the band or not.

I removed 4 canine teeth... God, I was so scared. Teeth removal has always been my worst nightmare.
It might be due to the traumatic incident during my primary time with our school dental nurse.
Anyway, it's had been 2 years now.
My teeth really changed alot.
Really really alot.

1 day after :
This is how it looks after putting on. Only 1 month passed from the day I started wearing. Notice that one of the bottom front tooth had no bracket? It's too crooked to put on bracket, so have to wait till it shifted. This is the time where I suffered the worst. Those metal kept on scrapping my inner mouth. OUCH!! Never really think my teeth are so ugly until I saw how the wires goes up and down, in and out... More ugly than normal teeth with braces.

1 month after :
Notice that the teeth began to spread backward. The top row was actually looking more and more like a straight line, God, it still looks so ugly...

2 months after :
Ohh... Its getting better. Those crooked one are getting straighter. Out of place one are falling into the right places.

3 months after :
Nice. Becoming straighter now, it almost doesn't look like me. Haha. Actually straightening the teeth doesn't need too long time. It's the alignment of the teeth that took alot of time...

8 months after :
At this time, my "tiger" canine teeth had already shifted into straight line. Basically the top are more better than the bottom.

2 years after :
Sorry for the fast forward. Mostly are just about closing up the gaps and align the teeth into the correct place. Saw how big the differences between the first picture and this?

I really think that braces are a necessary thing to do in life. My smile are nicer, teeth are more easier to maintain and I look different!! LOL!

It is true that this is actually a painful process. Well, beauty is pain in the ass, isn't it?
Especially if you are an adult going for braces. As we grow older, the teeth bones are more stiffer and harder to shift. Most people does remove their wisdom teeth too before getting the braces on which I had already removed before I think of braces.
Some people finds that having the metals around the teeth is ugly but I actually kinda of like the way it looks on my teeth. Haha.
Lucky for me, out of 5 kids, only 2 needs braces attention.
I definitely will bring them for braces when the time comes.

Quit Smoking Day 4

I managed to survive 4 days without touching 1 cigarette. Yeahhh!!!

First 2 days was the worst.

Now I can look at those people smoking and don't have the strong urge to pick one up.

Ya... mayhap I can still feel a little bit of twitching feeling to smoke but it is all under control smoothly.

I came across this article online which I find it quit informative for smokers who are quitting like me. :)

Quit Smoking Side Effect Time line

Stage 1

1. Chronic Physical Craving
Yes. I definitely have this. I believe everyone will have to go through this stage if they are qutting.

2. Irritability and Intense Mood Swings
Hmm... I really don't know I got intense mood swings or not. But I sure feel irritating easily. Although I don't know this is my natural behaviour or what. HAHA!

3. Intense fatigue
Another item I can't be sure. Cause I always feel tired with or without smoking.

4. Headaches
This is something I agreed will happened during quitting time. Before I started quitting, I already started to feel the headaches for days when I stopped smoking for 12 hrs per day for my work. Taking panadols does not help at all
.

5. Chest Discomfort
Nope.

6. Constipation
Yes.

7. Flu and Cough like symptoms
Oh yes. My throat got those nasty slimy phlegm that won't disappear. Been having these for 1 week.

8. Increased Hunger and Weight Gain
I still in the early stage of quitting so not sure will gain weight or not but I definitely eat much more.

Basically these will be what going to happen during the first week of quitting smoking.

I also download this very helpful app from hpb called iquit.
It keeps track of the days you started quitting and offer advises when you feel your urge are taking over you.
Anyone who havn't use any app, try it. I hope it helps out.

The Day I Quitted Smoking

I had tried so many times to quit smoking. It really wasn't easy at all!
The longest time i managed to stop smoking was only 3 days...

The first time I tried to quit was 2008. I used nicotine gums. Frankly speaking, it was useless.
I go back smoking cigarette before I even finish my gums. The gums tasted really horrible. Feels like chewing the cigarette sticks.
Next I even tried gradually cut down but after some days I will forget to keep track.

I tried so many ways. I looked up information from websites, books and friends.
I heard from my friend that some one she know actually managed to quit using those clinic prescribed drugs like, bupropion and Varenicline.
I wanted to try out prescription drugs so much!! But I was so afraid I will be only wasting money..

So I'm trying out, again, "cold turkey". I believe most smokers will know this term.
It means you just suddenly cut off from cigarettes completely.
A lot of reports shows that this is the most effective and best way to quit.
More people tend to success in quitting using cold turkey.
Of cos it's not an easy way either.
I tried it a few times. Initially, it was still easy to control.
But as days went by, all the mind think about was,
"light up a cigarette would do much harm to my quit program",
"(Mind blank) just went to pick up cigarette and light up",
"Feel fustrated, really very very fustrated".
The mind just keep on returning to cigarettes.

It is very true that it takes up alots of determination to quit.
This is not joking.
I think it's was I getting control by it. If I think of it, I want to light it.
I don't know whether really get headaches, cough or flu when you are quitting.
Might be some people will feel super uncomfortable while some are just easy.
I was surprised by myself too that I can actually stay smoke-free from 7am to 7pm, my working hours for now.
This have continue for 2 weeks and I actually keep having headaches last week.
I wonder is it bcos i stopped for 12 hrs?
Of cos before I decided to quit, I was still smoking after I reach home..

Anyway, i read on an article that writting down a list of "whys" you quit smoking can actually help in our determination to quit.

This is my list. I am still thinking to add what in.

Fat burning, metabolism boost?-alpha Lipoic acid

Recently bought this at watson. DHC alpha-lipoic acid also known as ALA.
What does it do?
It's a fat burning and metabolism booster capsule pills!! Each pill contains 210mg of alpha-lipoic acid and we just need to take 2 capsules per day.

It actually converts glucose in our body into energy.
It is also an antioxidant that can neutralizes harmful chemicals called free- radicals, it reduces food intake, you won't feel hungry often and you eat lesser and it increases your energy expenditure, making you burn more energy.

There is alot of positive reports about alpha-lipoic acid on the Internet. You can search for more information about it.

So does it really works?

I have been eating it for 1 week. Indeed my appetite recently have decrease.
Half way thru my meal, I will feel full in my stomach. I also don't have the craving to have snacks at night as often as i used to now.

I still do not know is it really the result of the pills or just the change of the environment of my job that is causing me to lose appetite.

So I will update the result 25 days later. Which I will have finish one pack of DHC alpha-lipoic pills.

Fishing at long gang (drain)

We went to my father's place to fish fishes!!!
😊
It's being 2 years since I moved out and we seldom went back.
Kiddos haven't really play in the small drainage just outside my dad's place for a long time.
Well...
It was fun!
We did managed to catch a few pathetic small fishes using our pathetic old and used fishnets.
Jayden actually caught alot of fishes using a normal plastic basket, hahaha!!
Even old sister oso joined in with her school mate.

ADHD - Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder~

ADHD - Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
Inattention, hypeactivity, and impulsivity are the key behaviors of ADHD...
Which I suspect is ocurring in Garren.
Although it's is not very serious on him but it's better to control than to let loose.

Children with ADHD may be:

Inattentive, but not hyperactive or implusive.
Hyperactive and implusive, but able to pay attention.
Inattentive, hyperactive and implusive. (Most common form of ADHD)

There are 3 types of ADHD identified:

1. ADHD, Combined type - Individual displays both inattentive and hypeactive/implusive symptoms.

2. ADHD, Predominantly Inattentive Type - Symptoms are primarily related to inattention. Individual does not display significant hyperactive/implusive behaviours.

3. ADHD, Predominantly Hyperactive-Implusive Type - Symptoms are primarily related to hyperactivity and implusivity. Individual does n, ot display significant attention problems.

It's not that children with ADHD can't pay attention, when they are into something they are very interested, they have no problem to focus and staying on the tasks. But they tend to get bored if the tasks is repetitive or boring. They also can't concentrate if they are things going around them. They need a quiet and calm environment in order to stay focus.

Symptoms Of Inattentive In Children

Doesn't pay attention in classes or to details
Makes careless mistakes
Has problem staying focus and is easily distracted
Appears not listening when spoken to
Has difficulty remembering things and following instructions
Has trouble staying organised, planning ahead and finishing projects
Get bored with a task before it's completed
Frequently loses or misplaces homework, books, toys or other items

While many children are naturally quite active, kids with hyperactive symptoms of ADHD are always moving. Even when forced to sit still which can be diffcult for them, their foot taps, legs shaking, or finger drumming.

Symptoms Of Hyperactivity in Children

Constantly fidgets and squirms
Often leaves his or her seat in situations where sitting is expected
Moves around constantly, often runs or climbs inappropriately
Talks excessively
Has difficult playing quietly or relaxing
Is always "on the go" as if driven by motor
May have a quick temper or a "short fuse"

Children with implusive symptoms of ADHD have problem with their self-control. They tend get moody and to overreact emotionally.

Symptoms Of Implusivity In Children

Acts without thinking
Blurts out answer in class without waiting to be called or hear the whole question
Can't wait for his or her turn in line or in games
Say the wrong thing at the wrong time
Often interrupts others
Intrudes on other people's conversations or games
Inability to keep powerful emotions in check, resulting in anger outbursts or temper tantrums
Guesses, rather than taking time to solve a problem

There are also positive sides for children with ADHD.

Creativity - Children with ADHD are marvelously creative and imaginative. The child who daydreams and has ten different thoughts at once can become a master problem-solver, a fountain of ideas, or an inventive artist. Children with ADHD may be distracted but sometimes they notice what others don't see.
Flexibility - Because children with ADHD consider a lot of options at once, they don't beome set on one alternative early on and more open to different ideas.
Enthusiasm and spotaneity - Children with ADHD are rarely boring! They're interested in a lot of different things and have a lively personalities. In short, if they're not exasperating you (and sometimes even when they are), they're a lot of fun to be with.
Energy and drive - When kids with ADHD are motivated, they work or play hard and strived to succeed. It actually may be difficult to distract them from a task that interests them, especially if the activity is interactive or hands-on.

Okok, now I'm not working anymore.
Basically it's really very tiring to handle both family and work at the same time.
As kids grow older, the more things I need to take in more serious consideration and attention.
Garren is primary one and I really should expected primary one homework are not simple anymore. As for belle, more worse. Almost everyday got every subjects homework.
Studentcare was a stupid centre.
Never heard before that school home work are least important than Studentcare. How can they expect they to come home do when by the time they reach home already 7pm?
After alot of consideration, decided is best to look after myself.
Lucky B found a nice job, although oso a tough job. But of cos is better than previous.
Although staying at home was never my first choice, I stil need to opt for tis. My body was really deteriorating from working n looking after family at the same time. Jayden n bernissa is goin to primary one next yr too. I decided to wait til at least jayden is in primary 3 before joining back to 8 to 5 job...

Tattoo removal result~

My 4th tattoo result.
Still quite visible. I still left one more treatment.
Don't think after 5th treatment will completely disappear. The main reason, I believe, is become when I got it tattooed, the tattooist tattoo too deep.
So if needed, I will still continue to go for the treatment till it's completely disappear.
Or at least not so visible...

Garren graduation~

Garren is going to primary one!!
So tiring, yesterday just went for Pri one orientation for Garren at Belle's school.
After that stil need to rush home, fetch kids and went to mum's pl as I have class.
Today totally so tired that we miss the swimming lesson in the morning.
Bought 1 uniform for Garren as I will get 2 sets from school so never bought so many.
Haven't buy the textbooks yet.
As I'm getting financial scheme from MOE, I'm getting free textbooks for both of them.
Save me alot of money.
Next month onward Garren will be goin for tuition class with belle at miss Nav there..
I can't imagine when the time where I have to cover the textbooks for both of them... Oh my, really will tired me out.
Just cover for belle oreadi use up 1 whole day...
Garren got into Amethyst, same as Belle when she first got into Pri 1. It was second best class for the school.
Hope he can maintain in that class for the next few yrs.. Haha..

I am now at Bukit Batok Swimming complex.
I am so given up on these kiddos. Can play with water from 2pm+ till now.
Don't they feel tired?
Well, at the least I got my peace and quiet and guess what...
Today weather is sooooo good~!!
So warm and windy...
I am relaxing now, surfing net while waiting for them.
Going to let them play till 6pm.
Actually wanted to leave early cos was planning to go find mum after swimming.
But mum called and say change to tomorrow. Since my bro just reach home from reservice.
Back to morning topic.
Being women is really very tough. Especially a from a poor family.
There are so much suffering that we can't say out...
Can only swallow back into our stomach.
I realized no matter how many times we tried,
we always ended up into the same path...
Same situation... only different people.
Please don't think I'm having a good life now.
And I began to understand no one is really having a good life now out there.
People only show the good side of their life, never the bad side.
Including myself.
Think today is the most relaxing day eversince this year started.
Glad that they are enjoying themselves.
Cos of them, I sacrifice alot.
My time, my youth, my saving, my career... and my life.
That is why mums are always the best.
Dads are just a minor character in life, especially when they thou they are being responsible already just by giving money.
They are nothing if mums are from a rich family... Hahaha...

Yesterday chat with one of my oldest fren.
I haven't being in touch with her for a long time.
After chatting with her, makes me realized actually alot of my friends are not really happy after marriage.
Makes me realized that out of 100%, 80% of my friends are not happy from the 1st few yrs onward.
So, are there really none of them really happily married? Hmm...
Not that I can think of..
I come to a term tat men that are suitable as a boyfriend are not suitable as husband and vice versa.
A romantic boyfriend are hard to become a responsible husband.
That's why I always told belle, study hard and earn money yourself when she grow up, if not, find a rich guy and marry. At the least when divorce still can split his money.
Some people will say, how can I teach her like that?
Come on, be realistic.
There are no prince charming in a white horse kind of stupid story.
I would have appreciated if my mum taught me this way.

2nd session tattoo removal~

uploaded the photo of my tattoo lasering 2nd session.
1st day after my 2nd session. It looked redder than the 1st time is because the doctor increasing the power of lasering.

This is 2 weeks+ later.
Now the words are more blur and lighter than before.

Now waiting for my 3rd appt, which will be at next month after 2nd april cos doctor say need a least one month to let the wound totally recover.
Can't wait~ :)

Finally ~
Got my own mini notebook!!! Yeah~
Yst went to bought it with my mum.
Mum also got one. She say she wanted to give to my bro.
Got it for free with signing up mobile broadband plan with M1. Every month just need to pay $42+. Actually is $60+ but because we got mobile multi line saver so got 35% discount.
Althou its just a notebook but alt the least when B watch movie using desktop I can still surf my net. Wahahaha...

Now Im practicing my skill for nails..
