Here’s a quick guide on how to create a very simple html/css image switcher (or gallery if you like) without the need for any scripting.

Actually I wont waste space explaining how to do it, as you’ll see from the example and code below, it’s stupidly simple.

The advantages of this switcher should be obvious: no Javascript as mentioned, it works in older versions of IE, the hidden images are preloaded, it can also switch text and probably anything you like.

On the other hand there’s one (or more) big disadvantage: the image switcher does not work properly in Safari or Opera (possibly some other browsers also). I believe with Safari this is due to the way safari jumps to anchors within a page, I have no idea why Opera isn’t playing ball.

A recent poll published in Wall Street Journal shows, contrary to popular propaganda belief, Iranian citizens are amongst the most pro-US in the Middle East, next to Israel and Lebanon.

An overwhelming majority of Iranians, 70 percent, favor normal relations and trade with the United States, a nationwide poll conducted by Terror Free Tomorrow has found.

In return for normal relations with the US, most Iranians were willing to recognize Israel and Palestine as independent states, ending Iranian supports for armed groups in Iraq, and adopt a transparent nuclear policy, Terror Free Tomorrow President Ken Ballen wrote in the Wall Street Journal.

The poll also found that only 29 percent of respondents viewed developing nuclear weapons as a top national priority. By contrast, 88 percent said that improving the Iranian economy was a very important priority.

About 80 percent of those polled said they would allow full inspection of Iran’s nuclear activities and vow not to develop nuclear arms in return for foreign aid.

Blade Runner hit’s 25 years old this year yet it still manages to hold it’s position as the best sci-fi/post-modern/cyberpunk movie ever…in my opinion of course. If you’ve not read the book but like the film I highly recommend it, in my opinion the book is far far superior.
