Tumblr, A Waste of Time

I've noticed some of my mates use this site called tumblr. I checked it out a bit over the last week or so and have come to this conclusion: it's a bloody waste of cyberspace. All that fills up those blogs on tumblr is pictures of random sh*t. They think they r 2 kool 4 skool or something. At least on this blog i actually write words that mean something when you put them together. People these days, ey. They spend too much time looking at pictures of pretty places and pretending to be all romantic.

Once a upon a time, people were in pretty places and were being romantic.

Hospitals

Over the weekend I happened to brake a bone and dislocate my finger while playing football, after being inspired by Pho's Sports. That wound me up in hospital. It was just the local public hospital, nothing fancy. The wait was a long time, to say the least. After checking out the place a little bit, and the people who were in it, you truly begin to realise the importance of a hospital. The doctor was telling me about how the public system needs more money from the govt. He's right. Neither can I imagine not being to afford to go to a hospital. What the hell would you do if you needed one? Increase public health spending and create some kind of universal healthcare for the god of all of us.

A Word on Equality

Just recently Brazil has moved forward in officially recognising same sex marriage, along with just a handful of other countries or states throughout the world. As a resident of a country that does NOT allow this (Australia) while a still developing country such a Brazil does makes me wonder about why we are not doing the same. Supposedly this Australia is 'the land of the fair go', and we are seen as a country with developed social policies. Clearly we are still lagging behind in this area. Its just a piece of paper and two rings, really, i can't even see why this should even be such a big issue. While i am not gay myself, i have a few friends who are. Just as I can legally marry, my friend, being supposedly an 'equal', should be able to do the same.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this issue whether you agree with me or not.

Einstein Was Right

Okay so i'm not going to pretend that I totally understand this at all, but Einstein's theory of relativity has been confirmed using a 'frame dragging test' by a satellite. Yep, that is as much as i'm going to say because i can't imagine many of us understand it either.

Wash Your Hands

I've been learning a few things about diseases and parasites and the like over the past week or so. If I could just offer you all some advice: if you have a pet dog or cat or whatever, wash your hands after touching it. Otherwise you could end up with a whole myriad of parasites inside of you, including ringworms, tape worms, and other ailments such a massive cysts that have to either be surgically removed or pop inside of you. Cow Pats

Hey fellaz, as promised, here is my essay on cow shit.

Cow dung is the waste of bovine animal species. These species include domestic cattle, bison, yak and water buffalo. Cow dung is the undigested residue of plant matter which has passed through the animal's gut. The resultant faecal matter is rich in minerals. Colour ranges from greenish to blackish, often darkening in colour soon after exposure to air. It is cool.

Guys, had sport training today. My god does it feel good to be back playing the game you love. If any of you out there don't play some kind of sport in a team or whatever, I seriously suggest you do. Its good for the body and the mind.

Do Something and Escape

Living in the 21st century can be harsh on the mind sometimes. It can feel as though this it's all wrong. Everything. There are conflicts, genocides, clearing of forests, over development, and so on. Sometimes we all need a break from this crap. If you ever feel this way may I suggest this to you: get on a plane and go somewhere far away from here. Get the hell out of your apartment and escape your shitty little 'life' in which all you do is work from 9 to 5 then watch crappy TV. Get out of here. See the world. You are alive. Do something, man.

What's happening In the World Today

The royal wedding is upon us. yay. may the happy wedded couple be happy 4 eva. i was sooo excited about it. that is one word i could use to describe it. In other news, the canadian figure skater patrick chan has recently won the 2011 world figure skating men's event. He set a new record for a long and short program.

just keeping you updated, guys. You gotta know these things if ya wanna be as smart as me oneday.

in OTHER other news, the pearl stingray is a lttle known species of stingray in the family Dastatidea. This is important to know for all you people who like to go to the beach. I just LOVE the beach, and these little stingray critters. They are LOVELY!
