Pocket Mechanic SD-Card Formating Error: Error code:0x1f

Hi,

When i try to use the Format feature in Pocket Mechanic Pro. on a SD card (1, 2 or 4GB size) i receive an error message:

Error

Failed to format “SD Card”. Reason for the failure: “Error code:0x1f, A device attached to the system is not functioning.”.

What can i do about it?

I’m using WM6.1 as OS.

The DEBUG Log file is attached.

i have a sprint htc touch pro. WM 6.1. i have the latest P mechanic. i have never seen this issue before and i have used pocket mechanic for a couple years. i have a sandisk 6gb. i have removed and reinserted it.

the other programs within pocket mechanic SEE the card just fine. i can see the card on the phone and can use the files off the card.. i just cant get it to format.

any ideas?

I have updated this post to remove my complaint because wizcode did finally respond to my tickets. I have been waiting the whole weekend, growing more and more nervous about my purchase, but eventually I got a polite reply.

SD Serial Number = N/A WHY?

Hi,
I’m currently trying Pocket Mechanic for my IPaq210. When I want my SD Card informations, it shows me N/A for every informations about the SD Card Register. Do you know why I can’t get these informations?

Is it the IPaq, Windows Mobile 6.0 or your software that doesn’t work correctly?

defrag mobile reports errors

run scandisk or defrag (check card), no errors reported.

no errors are reported on the card.

ran defrag (defrag option) error reported on card during the phase after verifying file sectors.

suggestions to correct.

storage card remounted with different name after scandisk as run.

Scan disk and defrag dismount the storage card at the start of their process (to ensure exclusive use I assume).

When these are executing another process, poutlook, (I think) runs and expects to find its files on ‘Storagecard’. As this does not exist it creates a subdir in main memory called ‘Storagecard’.

When your tasks finish they remount the card, but it is mounted as ‘storagecard2’.

Thus all programs which are installed on the card no longer run via shortcuts and those having data on the card no longer work.

have to delete the memory ‘Storagecard’ and reboot to correct.

any ideas on a possible fix/workaround?

Registry cleanup

Hi - Is there any good method or any guidance that can help one determine which registry items to remove after running “Registry cleanup”. It works nice and shows the registrys recommended for removal but how can you make a good technical decision to remove a registry item?
