<description>The amazing Amy Denio is coming in concert for WMNF in the intimate Catherine Hickman Theatre in lovely Gulfport.

Amy comes equipped with a 4 1/2 octave voice, a charismatic and witty stage presence, and 25 years of globe-trotting musical chops. This is one of those events where WMNF expands your musical horizons. This is a must-see, unique opportunity to see one of today's most original and uncomprormising artists.

WMNF's Rayzilla (from Wednesday Night's "Step Outside") opens the show with his own brand of TampAmericana...</description>

      <title>Good Vibrations: Brian Wilson’s 70th Birthday Party/Tribute,</title>
      <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/WmnfEvents/~3/BJVaVvO--5I/good-vibrations-brian-wilson%E2%80%99s-70th-birthday-partytribute</link>
<description>Brian Wilson, founder/leader/songwriter of The Beach Boys, is heralded as a musical genius along the lines of Lennon–McCartney. And soon he will be celebrating his 70th birthday. It's time for a fun WMNF celebration of Brian Wilson and Beach Boys songs at Skippers Smokehouse.

The Beach Boys have often been called "America's Band",and Allmusic has stated that "the band's unerring ability... made them America's first, best rock band." The group has had 36 US Top 40 hits (the most by an American rock band) and 56 Hot 100 hits, including four number-one singles. Rolling Stone magazine listed The Beach Boys at number 12 on their 2004 list of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time," the highest ranking for an American rock band. The group is also one of America's best-selling acts, having sold over 100 million albums worldwide since their debut in 1961.Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988. Pet Sounds, the masterpiece that Brian Wilson created in 1966, is often recognized as among the best albums of all time. Since the 90's many of the groups later albums and singles have been re-evaluated by critics and fans with albums such as Sunflower, Surf's Up and the finally released Smile albums being seen as worthy successors to their earlier output.

      <title>The Free Speech Zone!</title>
      <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/WmnfEvents/~3/Lk1PDd2CjEc/the-free-speech-zone</link>
<description>WMNF is presenting an exciting new fundraiser aptly coined ***The Free Speech Zone*** and the timing couldn’t be better! The WMNF Development Committee is presenting his lively event---envisioned as a celebration of the right to individual and collective freedom of expression. The Free Speech Zone will take place Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the David A. Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa from 7:00-10:00 pm.

The night will include:

•	Opportunity for verbal and visual expression through dress, music and other activities
•	Top notch entertainment
•	Live music and WMNF DJs
•	Live and Silent Auctions
•	A Decadent Dessert Bar and Hors d’Ouevres Table
•	A Specialty Coffee Bar and Full Cash Bar

As our station Values Statement clearly notes, WMNF advocates for peace, social and environmental justice through independent media and programming neglected by the mainstream. We embrace diversity, tolerance of others’ opinions and freedom of expression. WMNF celebrates and promotes the creative, cultural and political vitality of the local community. We expect this event will emphatically demonstrate our stronghold in these essential beliefs.
