      <title>Black Taxi, plus Laurel Canyon</title>
      <link>http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/WmnfEvents/~3/Qta3zxIHgEc/black-taxi-plus-laurel-canyon</link>
<description>WMNF listeners who have seen Brooklyn's **Black Taxi** in their recent visits to the area know that they are an incredible live act, smashing an anything-goes punk ethos together with pop sensibilities, unparalleled energy, and brilliant songwriting. The result is a raucous stage show, heavy on harmonies, spitfire guitar licks, body paint, and all manner of instrumentation. Their lead singer Ezra Huleatt is a non-stop dynamo, one of the most exciting frontmen in music today. Their style has been described varyingly as "grit-pop" or "dance punk", and though their songs hint at the Talking Heads, Cake, and Daft Punk, they are driven by something entirely new and infectious.

**Laurel Canyon**

Local musician Shawn Kyle plays with so many bands we cannot keep track; they are all good! We are especially excited about the Laurel Canyon project which is getting lots of attention from music fans. If the Black Keys were southern, and influenced by Blue Cheer, that's what's the Laurel Canyon sounds like. </description>
