It’s going to be another great week! First, Ignite Mid-Winter Youth Retreat is just around the corner, so hurry and get signed up. Second, Sr High Bible Study is this week, and finally, we have a North District Youth Rally this coming Sunday. There is a lot going on, so please read through this carefully. See you soon.

*Wednesday February 8th*

Sr High Bible Study this week in the youth center from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Afterwards from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., we will gather at the Subway on Richmond Road for fellowship and a meal. Youth need to provide their own ride and money.

*Thursday February 9th*

Late registration deadline for Ignite Mid-Winter Youth Retreat is this coming Thursday. Click on this link to get signed up! You will need to print off both a youth form and medical form, and they are found at the bottom of the page.

*Sunday February 12th*

Sunday School is from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. in the youth center, and this week we will finish our video Bible study on the movie “The Mission.”

North District Youth Rally this Sunday at FUMC Linden. We will gather at the youth center at 3:30 p.m., and will return back to the youth center at approximately 8:30 p.m. We will be electing Conference Youth Representatives, and I need at least 2 sr high youth and 2 jr high youth who are interested in serving on the Conference Youth Council. Let me know if you are interested. All youth will need a 2012 Notarized Liability Release Form for this youth rally!

Valentines Dinner and Dance

Grab your good dancing boots and your appetite and join us for an evening of dining and dancing on February 14 from 7-9 p.m.  Music will be provided by Jimmy Calicott and the Cross-tie Junction Band, and the menu is Outback Steakhouse Steaks, baked potatoes, rolls, and salad. JYF Pancake Supper

Get ready for the JYF Pancake Supper on February 19th, at 5:00 p.m. Each year, the 5th and 6th graders (Junior Youth Fellowship) host a dinner or lunch to raise money for various mission projects. Suggested donations for the Pancake supper are $5.00 and tickets will be sold during Sunday morning in the welcome center and at the door. Tickets are being sold for $20 at the Good Treasures Bookstore through Sunday February 12th. Tickets will also be sold for $25 at the door.

All proceeds will benefit the students of Williams College and Young Adults. The money raised will go toward a scholarship fund for students to attend mission trips and retreats.

The class will meet during the Sunday School hour from 9:15-10:15 a.m. in Room 102 for five weeks beginning February 26. Questions are welcome. If you will not be able to attend all the sessions, attend the ones you can.

February 26 - How do I know I am a Christian? What does assurance mean to faith? How do I grow closer to God?

March 4 – Why do we Baptize? How does Communion work? Why are these things important to me?

March 11 – What do Christians believe? What do United Methodists believe?

March 18 – Why are there different Christian denominations? Where do Methodists fit into the Christian family?

March 25 – What about Williams UMC, where did we come from? Where do I belong in the family here at Williams?

Bob and Clara Mae Cheatham loved this church and Bob sang in the choir. Upon their death, they left a significant gift to help Williams Memorial for years into the future.

In recognition of their generosity, a Fund in their name has been established as a matching grant program to fund special capital projects.

The first grant of $7,950 was recently awarded to assist in repairs and upgrades to the pipe organ.

We appreciate the music program at Williams and we remember the Cheathams and their generosity.
