Snuggle Your Little Prince

2012-04-09T20:21:00.004-04:00

Maybe the Little Prince just needs a good hug. This is certainly deserving of a snuggle.

Hand-crocheted, by another of those Etsy craftinistas I am so envious of.

From Liukenko, "All grown-ups were once children-although few of them remember it"

This is my re-creation of The Little Prince, based on the illustrations of Antoine De Saint-Exupéry. I just love that book, and even though it is a children book, I enjoyed more as an adult.

The Little prince is 12 inches tall and is crocheted with vivid yarn colors with the amigurumi technique."

Love that hair!

To have your Barbapapa Cake, and not eat it.

2012-02-07T15:38:00.005-05:00

A dedicated woman made this awesome Barbapapa cake for her husband's birthday.
But after working on it for 7 DAYS, they decided it wasn't safe to eat and had to throw it away!

The cake was clearly a labor of love.

7 Days! Wow. Good for you, Vanilla Moment! (To see how she did it, visit her blog, where it becomes instantly clear that she is a better woman than I!)

Barbapapa Manicure Art

2011-11-16T11:41:00.003-05:00

This Barbapapa fan is SERIOUS.

Here's the question - is she ambidextrous? How can you possibly do both hands? (Of course, that's coming from someone who can barely cut her fingernails!)

If you like Asterix and Obelix, you better put a ring on it!

2011-06-29T13:29:00.002-04:00

So sorry for the long break friends! But now, the Wundertime blog is back in action!

First up, vintage Asterix and Obelix rings from the 1970s.

You are getting a great mix of random colors and characters in this collection of 24 rings. These were originally destined for gum machines and other vending machines but never made it. These are plastic and from the 1970s. Measure about .75 to 1 inch tall.

What a great story and these are fun rings to collect or share with a friend.

Or, you could just keep them all for yourself. Just sayin'

Did the Barbapapa family run a marathon?

Did the Barbapapa family compete in a French marathon? If so, they are in better shape than I knew! (via)

Make your own Barbapapa t-shirt

2011-04-23T18:01:00.008-04:00

Well, you can make it if you buy this Vintage Barbapapa Iron-On Set. Circa 1975, it's old and old school, and yup, I would have completely loved this back in the day of the iron-on sweatshirt I rocked after I got it at Knott's Berry Farm. They had NOTHING as cool as this.

Make your own Tintin collectible, but only if you are as talented as this artist.

2011-04-20T13:05:00.002-04:00

I've gotten a head's up about this incredible Tintin project, from the artist himself. A full-sized Tintin statue, made from a bit of cork, paint, and a heck of a lot of effort!

15 KGS. of cork, 5 coats of pvc and 3 coats of paint = One phenomenal Tintin! Congratulations on an amazing bit of work well done!

Cutting the Big Block.

And where should Tintin go when he's all done? Next to the telly, of course!

New Little Prince Ink. Wear your little Prince Pride, forever.

2011-04-10T15:15:00.004-04:00

Do you love The Little Prince enough to wear him on your body forever? These folks did. (Via Check Out My Ink)

The Little Prince meets Batman.

Same tattoo, different spot.

Still Fresh. Ouch!

And of course, a Little Prince quote.

Strangely, no guys sporting Little Prince ink. Gentlemen, are you out there?

Little Prince Body Art

Do you love The Little Prince enough to get some LP Body Art?

"This is my first tattoo. It’s the little prince playing with his fox in a field.

The story of the book means a lot to me and I’m very happy with the result."

If it's something you know you can live with in 20 years, isn't that all that really matters?

The Little Prince - It ain't no Candyland

2011-02-26T17:50:00.003-05:00

Possibly the strangest board game I have ever seen. Who even knew such a thing existed? A game based on the 1974 Film Version of The Little Prince. So bizarre, it almost warrants purchasing.

Here's what the seller has to say:

Wonderful 1974 family board game based on the Paramount motion picture THE LITTLE PRINCE - adapted from the internationally popular book by Antoine de Saint Exupery. Ages 6 and up. 2 or 3 players travel through space with the Little Prince as he meets with characters that enlighten his understanding of life. Complete with 4 player's pieces and 54 cards. Learn the truths from the book as you play the cards and advance your pieces. Help the pilot find truth when he crashes his plane in the Sahara Desert and meets the Little Prince. Meet the King, the scientist, the fox, the snake and the rose. If you've read Antoine de Saint-Exupery's book, you will enjoy this unique and rare board game from 1974. Box is in near mint condition, with only slight wear on the corners. The book, VHS and DVD of this 1974 movie adaption can be found on Amazon Books and Movies for under $15.00. What a nice idea. Match the game with the box and give it to a young pre-teenager as a gift. Box measures 18" by 9". (via)

A Pre-teenager, huh? Just so they can work out their existentialist crises right away?

Couture Barbapapa

2011-02-01T17:46:00.006-05:00

Can Barbapapa and high fashion ever truly mix? For designers Laura and Lavinia Biagiotti's Doll collection, they've given it a try. The Fall/Winter 2011-2012 Collection features Barbapapa imagery throughout, mixed with a bit of clothing that reminds me of Gaultier's collection for the movie City of Lost Children.

The "garments celebrate the cartoon and the power of imagination, transforming for different uses just like the Barbapapa family that turns into flowers, hearts, alphabet letters, and so much more! As oversized embroidery in relief or hidden details on denim and fleece, the whole Barbapapa family can be found on outfits of the Dolls that come in three vibrant colors of the brand – white, red, and black. Barbapapa turns into a heart that brightens a striped sweater and jersey T-shirts. Barbamama, with a crown of sequin flowers, is the main theme for tops, mini-dresses, and T-shirts worn with white, black, and red striped Lurex leggings. Barbabeau, the artist of the clan, is embroidered on cashmere pullovers and sporty-chic chenille." (via)

I must admit that I find the whole child-model thing a little wierd, and I can't really imagine cashmere for kids. That said, I am a fan of black and white stripes so maybe this collection could win my heart.

I'm sure I've said this before, but I am not an ebay person. Today, however, I was tempted by this lot of Vintage Barbapapa books. Of course, I hope the seller doesn't live with regret after getting rid of these gems.

I wish I could read Armenian

2011-01-16T13:34:00.003-05:00

because it would mean I could read the quotes on the back of this lovely jewelry. So much to enjoy about these Little Prince pendants and earrings from Smart Crafts, and Armenian artist Vahagn Vardumyan.

Now, can anyone tell me what it says?
